TGIF!!!! TGIF!!!!!!!! TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!

Ya with me?

Cripes I am tired. I wish I could take today "off" and relax and scrap. There are so many new goodies in the shop.
But alas... ;) I have to steam clean my carpets today. After a winter of mud and snow and dog pee (I love my geriatric dog- I do-- but I wish she wouldn't pee in the house sometimes..), my carpets are in desperate need of some TLC. It is going to be dry today- so its a good day to do it.
That means it is a "zippy pill" day. And I can hear my family groaning at me in their sleep. My Lyme doc prescribes Provigil for me. Its to keep me awake when I become Lyme-Zombified. My family hates when I take them b/c they make me unable to sit still. I only take them when absolutely necessary, but if I want to get the carpets done, my "work cocktail" is in order: One provigil and a half a Vicodin coming up!

So that's my story for today. Scott is also having a rough Lyme day- I am keeping him out of school today- he is really exhausted. Not a good combo for him. He's not thrilled, and if he wakes up later and feels better, I'll bring him in. Its just more evidence that a 4 day work/school week would be so nice. Anyone else agree? hahah!

Finish It Friday- anyone have stuff that has to get done before the weekend hits?
Obviously, I have rugs to clean. I also should get back into the attic and bring down some more of my spring clothes. I packed away winter stuff but didn't bring down anything spring-y.

Ok loves, that is it for now. Better go check on the family- and I'll be back with coffee and personals :)

Laurie- how are you this morning? And no- you are not old!
I don't remember the 1st E.Day. (1970) cuz I was not quite 2.... but I did grow up in the 70's LOL

Nana Linda- thanks for the E. Day wishes. I worked at MIL's and before I played in her gardens (what a GREAT week for me- 2 days *paid* to get to play in dirt- love it!) she showed me pics of her and FIL's weekend in Delaware. Longwood? Lockheed?? Some Gardens that begin with L. But gorgeous gorgeous photos of flowers and plants. And then there was this home that was just all azaleas grown but an 80 yr old man since the 50's... just amazing photos and they just remind me how phenomenal Mother Earth/God/Goddess/The Creator is! So inspiring!
Congrats on the new computer and PSE!!!
And no doubt- you *are* a hot Nana!!!!!!

Stef- I love yards and gardens in all states of repair/disrepair. You should see my yard LOLOL!!! Its a work in progress. And I have been here for 15 years now hahah!!!
Did you say where you live? I can't remember, but maybe I can give some ideas....

Janet! Welcome to the Daily ooo's too! Good luck with your budgets... I would not want to be in your shoes :(

Clara- awww- yay for Addie! (BTDT w/ plants and cats! Floyd, my devil-boy aka Hurricane Floyd... has killed more plants in my house than I like to admit)
That still bites about BIL's wedding- and now with you move, it makes it even harder doesn't it?

Sally- That is awesome Re: speeches- I love MLK "Dream." Yes, we are closer, but not quite.....
I am soooo proud of you-- yay for herbs and tomatoes!!!!!

Hi LS!! How are you feeling today?? Kegels, do those kegels! :)

TGIF again!

Hi Chris, and everybody who will be posting here ;)
Anybody interested to take a peek at my topic at the freebiesection?
I'm so proud to do that.. But I guess alsmost the whole world is sleeping or working or whatever
We are just waiting for the first coupon to be used ;)

Feel free to delete my message I'm not allowed to place it here

AWESOME Yvon...I went over to take a look...since you aren't saying outloud what they are I won't say either. I did not get one, because I usually only use them for CT...but they are gorgeous and I know there are tons of folks that use them a lot!!

:) Thanks for taking a look linda! :)
Sometimes I use them a lot, and sometimes I don't need to use any because I've to lots of ideas.
They are easy to use once in a while :)

GOOD MORNING!!! TGIF Back atch Chris!!!

LOL!! I asked DH if it was Friday today..he looked at me like I was crazy!! I said well it must be and oh thank goodness!! I am ready for the weekend!!

Saturday morning Cameran has his opening ceremonies for Tball...how cute!!! then Sat evening we are meeting some friends for dinner...and I have gift card to the movies, so I am trying to see if there is anything playing that I want to go see..if not, will just get a PPV.. and Sunday we are going to a local festival...LOADS OF FUN!!

So what are you ladies planning??

Stef...well...maybe later on in the Summer when things start coming in you can snap a few!! I am not a yard person either, we leave that to Chris!!! I do only what is NECESSARY!!! DH has to do the rest!!

Janet!! HI!!! I am so happy to see you in here!! I am like Sally...I can't believe you haven't been in here before!! Guess just see you all over have just assumed...ooooh BAD WORD!! LOL about the PERFECT Hermit!! and I have a daughter that talks me into a headspin too!!

Clara....Man...Derek needs to be more like Mike...his attitude would be "I am not going all the way to Indiana to a wedding reception that really don't want to be at anyway" Now he is a really great guy, but he is not nearly as family oriented as I am, except with our own kids and grandkids. You have the perfect excuse to NOT go...MOVING!! But I know that Derek wants to support brother. Would it be in the realm of possiblities to just have Derek go? or Just him and Ethan?? would save money this way. Oh I love watching the little ones participate with the shows on TV!! It's so cute!!!

Oh Sally...give Emma a hug for me!!! I love her reaction to MLK's speech!!! Saw the wordart...I am so on those this weekend!! FABULOUS!!

Laurie!! That MT DEW is bad for you!!! Sharon used to drink it all the time and we found it definately contributed to her Migraines!! Had to stop buying it and threaten her to not get it when she was out anywhere...but it was hard to keep tabs on a teenager drinking MT DEW!! YUM...dinner sounds fabulous...LOVE kabobs!!

HI ANDREA

Chris...I can not take on cleaning my own carpets!! I have a guy who has been cleaning mine for about 15 years now and he doesn't really go up on price too much for me since I am a long time customer...so it's not too bad!! I think I need your "cocktail"..to help me get some things done!! :D thanks for the "hot nana" compliment:D I meant to tell you the last time you mentioned getting clothes from the attic...one of the GOOD things when you kids move out, you don't have to store your clothes anymore...
EXTRA CLOSETS!! LOL!! I never have to fold things and pack them...just move from one closet, on hangers, to the other!!

Okay girlies...I am off!! (((HUGS TO ALL)))

Someone remind me why I volunteered to host a "playdate" for my little girl today. My house is a wreck. Oh well, luckily the mom is a friend of mine. If she hasn't learned by now that my husband and daughter were put on this Earth to thwart any progress I make in the area of house cleaning (among other things), it's no use starting now. ;)

Oh the yard - well....it really isn't as bad as I make it sound. I just got spoiled; Our last house had an awesome yard - lilac bushes, honeysuckle, mexican bird of paradise, etc etc. This one has...grass. That's it. My husband told me a few weeks ago "I'll take care of the mowing, but the rest is up to you". Yippee. For those wondering, I live in New Mexico. Waaaaaay south, in the desert. Any tips, advice, prayers, etc are much welcome. Lol.

Well, they're going to be here in about an hour, so I guess I should probably at least change out of my sweats and brush my teeth. :D

well...i did the whole type a GOB and accidentally hit the back button...ohhh and it was a good post, too...

but I have to get to laundry...

I love you all!!!! Hopefully I can come back and pontificate a bit more later!! hugs!!!

Hi everybody!
Boy have I been running around like a chicken sans head. Seems like unlimited appointments lately. I had my OB intake appointment, and all those labs, and then I had to wait in the pharmacy for like 45 minutes to get my vitamins. Seriously, I was wondering how much it was worth the wait. AND now I have a paper due this evening. It's just a short one, but I haven't even started yet so I should get cracking. Grrr. I am about to step down from all my CT's, I mean, I hate to do it, but I just don't think I'm pulling my weight. Blah.

So, no real time for personals, but I just wanted to say hello! Hope everybody is doing great!

Hello, Happy Friday, Ladies! (It is still Friday, right? I haven't missed it??)

TGIF!! So I'm crunching budget numbers, and the whiny man who works for me comes in with "do you have a minute?" "Quickly!" I said. 20 stupid minutes later . . . . If he hadn't just had a death in his immediate family, I might have chased him out. (sorry if that sounds heartless, but he whines and covers the same territory over and over. I've never had to deal with a man who is more like an emotional 13 year old)

So that's the way my day started. I'm so thankful that I work extra hours early in the week so I can take off Friday afternoons! So I grabbed a bunch of plants off my filing cabinets that have outgrown their pots (my secret plan is to grow them so big they can't find me in my office) so I can re-pot them and they'll grow bigger! Stopped by my daughter's house on my way home and it was right before naptime for my youngest grand-daughter at 2 1/2, and she asked me to put her down for a nap -- well, that just makes everything perfect again in my world!! Kisses and hugs and everything is wonderful.

Back to my house and I play Nehemiah and rebuild the retaining wall, by reattaching the cap stones that had come loose. Quikcrete makes this adhesive that comes out of a caulk like tube and literally glues bricks, flagstone, etc, together so you don't have to mix concrete! Color me happy! So I glued down about 8 of those big flat capping stones plus a bunch of little supporting pieces. I have a guy coming on Tuesday to add soil and remulch for me, and that will be done!

Laurie - not sure what time zone you're in (I'm in EST in Virginia), but I do know that we chase each other back and forth in the threads early in the morning -- cracks me up!

Sally, NANA Linda -- I'm still learning the tweeting thing and still feel so dumb!

Oh Linda -- they call me Nana too. Just love it when they come running to me screaming "Nana!" Dont you?

Andrea, love the name of your blog!

Stef -- New Mexico?? I lived in Alamogordo for a year and half while in high school. Went back to Eastern for college and met hubby there at church, been together ever since! Our daughter was born there in Portales. Remind me -- one day I'll have to tell the story of us trying to get her a learner's permit to drive!

And thanks to all for the welcome! As I mentioned yesterday, I'm one of the quiet, shy ones, so it's only taken me a year to speak up in here. I think guesting pushed me over the edge!

Ok, I'm off to finish a mini for a progressive scrap, and another one for an NSD collab.

Have a wonderful evening all!

Janet - you're kidding! I grew up in the northern part of the state, in the mountains and went to Eastern after graduating high school. That's where hubby and I met and where we lived when we first got married. Now I live waaaay south, between Roswell and Carlsbad. What a small world! Where are you now?

We live in northern Virginia, about 40 miles west of Washington DC. When we lived in Alamogordo, "the" shopping trip was to El Paso! My mom and I used to stop at a restaurant called La Posta in old Mesilla, and ate the hottest enchiladas on the planet! But we stopped there every trip -- have no idea if it's still there? While at Eastern, after we got married, we lived in a little tiny white house at the edge of campus on University Drive. It was ancient when we lived there! We left NM in 1981 and kept moving south and east, been here for 21 years.

chris- hope the rugs went well

Andrea B- may the paper fly off your fingers

That is so wild! We used to live on the corner of S. Ave I and University! Probably just the other end of the street from where you lived. I'm sure your house is still there, that whole neighborhood is ancient.

I have not had a great day...A classmate of mine went in for knee surgery and died the otherday from complications. You know you're getting older when your school mates start dying. How sad!!! she had a lovely family and so loved her twin boys. She was a single mom and did not have an easy life, yet she remained one of the most loving woman I have ever met. Please say a prayer for my friend Corey.
