TGIF! What a long, cold, and boring week. Even yesterday was cold and dreary. I thought it was going to be decent but the sun never came out. Even though the temps were warmer, the air was damp and unpleasant.

The good news is that we have a new coffee pot! *keeps fingers crossed that it lasts* It's a Mr. Coffee and we don't have the best of luck with that brand. We need a 14 Cup Carafe (NEED IT!) with 4 adults who live on coffee to survive. Gary picked one out and did a curbside pick-up on his way home from the Lyme Dr yesterday. Lyme appt went as expected, he is basically in the same shape as he had been last year, maybe a bit worse neurologically. His balance tests were waaaay off. She is going to wait until all of his blood work comes back before they decide on what treatment plan to go with. Since he is such a hard case, knowing which co-infections are currently active will decide which cocktail of abx he will need.
I spent hours yesterday copying over photos on my old phone to m computer. Man, I have a *lot* of pictures of the rats LOL It was nice seeing pics of the older ones, Muffin and Clover.

Today looks like it is going to be nice and am going to visit my cousin for lunch today. I haven't seen her since last summer so it will be nice to catch up. I'd better get going, I need to wash and blow out my hair this morning and that takes forever.

Have a wonderful day!

@BrightEyes Heh, coffee is our lifeblood, without it, we are toast. :D
So sorry that the modem and DVD issues plagued you all day. Were you able to get it replaced yesterday? Glad that Chari found the second DVD or you would have been bugged by that since you are always so organized.
How are the feet/ankles today? Please be careful, no more falling outside xo
Have fun with DS and DIL!!!

@taxed4ever I can't imagine hiking with 28 people, but ITA any bears out there would have been smart to stay far away, Glad that the weather stayed dry until you were done. Were you able to get lots done in the house yesterday? I totally blew my opportunity to have a quiet(ish) house. Gary was at the Dr, Caitlyn was on campus and Scott was splitting wood outside. All I did was copy photos, glued to the computer. Bah humbug
Looking forward to seeing the paintings!

@bcgal00 Congrats on the first guests! Sound like everything is falling into place in the house. Does it feel like "home" yet? I bet with the dogs all settling in it does. Good luck finding the boxes and paying taxes.
Remi and you make a good team, both so smart. I wish I had the structure/patience to train Jaida better. W does fine with listening for the most part. J is awful.

Kay- We had to get wifi boosters in our house, one upstairs and one downstairs. They make a difference, hope that works for you too. Mmmmm donuts!!!! Enjoy the company!

@Cherylndesigns When it comes to coffee, there are always options here too. Can't live without that stuff LOL
No rotten tomatoes but maybe a bit of grumbling from me about the weather. I am so done with this awful spring.
Can you send some scrap mojo to me too????

I got called into work yesterday, due to people being sick, I wasn't supposed to work until Wednesday ... Yay for extra money! I really enjoy work, but today I'm tired. Would have been that anyway since I had a drs appointment this morning. Have to show my face & look happy once a year to keep my meds LOL

Right now my only plan for this weekend is to SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP ... but I guess I won't do that all the time. Need to get back on track with my decluttering again. Hopefully I will get my zzz's and be able to do some stuff done Saturday & Sunday.

Have boring dinner plans for tonight - soup & pancakes ... I need something better to cheer myself up. That usually ends up with spaghetti + ground beef (or veg mince in our case). My go to food when I need a decent meal of comfort food.

It's been really nice weather last few days, sunny and warm, but as of tomorrow it will get cold again.

Now it's a couple of hours left til I have to start cook dinner, think I'll go finish the book I'm reading: Just Like You by Nick Hornby. I really like his books, and this is as great as the others. High Fidelity being my favorite, I think, but it was ages since I read that one.

Real quick in and out. Jim and Alyn arrived and it is so good to be with them. Their plans have changed... they will be leaving tomorrow morning as they want to go by DD#1's in Phoenix tomorrow then head back home for an appt on Monday. Latest update on the Wifi in the house. The tech just shook his head after checking out the signal in the house. His comment was ... he didn't understand why they gave me an old modem again.... He called and got permission to install the newest modem. Finally have wifi in the family room at acceptable levels... and the smart TV connects to it!! Had him check the rest of the house... and not surprising... neither the craft room or my master bedroom has a good signal - it drops way down. Will need a booster in there if I want to get a smart TV or use a computer in those rooms. The bad news is that MY computer won't hook up to the internet this AM... but DH's one will. Think the plug may be pulled out of the back of it. But since it means crawling around under the desk to check it out, will get Jim to check it out for me. My back is really stiff this morning so not up to doing it myself. I hear them stirring.. Will check back in tomorrow after they leave. CYL

Morning everyone, its a pretty decent looking day. There are patches of blue sky out there. DH is home so we will be heading out shortly to pick up a few things and get a few groceries. He wants to get the grass cut later on when it dries up a bit, then tomorrow will be a day of lots of power washing. It sure will be good to see all that green guck gone! I should be able to get the weeding done in the front done tomorrow also. It is supposed to be a nice sunny day, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be able to spend most of the day outside. Still have not found my mojo and I have tossed another attempt at getting a page done. Ugh!! So no personals today as DH is wanting to get going and I need to get into the shower and get going with our day! CYL.

Good morning ladies. Today is more unpacking, making some banana bread and this afternoon I'll be taking the dogs to the vet clinic this afternoon. I forgot to ask about parking so I'll have to call them later and ask b/c I know parking is limited in the downtown area. Darrell is picking up a chest this morning to put on the second floor main area to store blankets. Jen and I picked up white paint to paint two dressers for my dressing room. I'll be looking for barn wood or something else suitable to put on the top to match my other dressers. Something like this. I'll be back later, D needs help getting recycling into his truck, he'll go drop it off first and then go get the chest. Back in a bit...

Good afternoon lovely O's.

Warm but VERY windy here - 79 degrees! SO windy you can hardly stand to be in it. :( Supposed to get worse! They're about 20 mph right now. I can't stand high wind! Forecast: hot, humid and windy. LOL

Chris @faerywings sounds like Gary's "maybe" in a holding pattern? That must really be something!!: Yes, Mr Coffee is all we buy now - my dad had a theory - "a coffee pot is only made to last a year, so buy the cheapest one". He's right - we're lucky to get a year out of one. We've bought every kind too, so back to Mr. Coffee again. Must.have.coffee.

I'll send you some of my mojo - BOOM - sent!

Kay @BrightEyes hope you're not in too much discomfort. I've sworn off walking down that big slope to get to the front of the woods. Our backyard starts sloping off right behind the back of the house. We have a cement deck, but the rest of the yard goes straight down. When I go out, I "shimmy" around the house, holding on until I get over to the side, then I've got more sure footing.

Quick in and out for me today. I'm getting a late start here.

Hugs

Good evening my friends. What a week! It really got away from me! Had a great time with my niece and her family! My great nephew is adorable if I do say so myself! I cooked all of their favorites. Peach cobbler with homemade ice cream and peach cobbler plus blueberry stuffed French toast. And more…

Shaun really became Bo’s buddy. It was really cute. They hung together a lot.

Then, on Wednesday, Brian got laid off. He was a loan processor at a re-financing company and with the increasing interest rates, that market is drying up. They called them into a meeting right before lunch and let them go. They totally closed the Jacksonville office. And they laid off 400+ people. So that was a surprise. We are going to wait to figure out next steps until after we return from Europe.

I‘ll be back in a bit to do some personals.

Linda @LSlycord I'm SO sorry to hear about Brian!! This is getting crazy, isn't it? I'm glad you don't have to worry about things until you return from your trip, at least.

Yes, about the one-year lifespan on coffee pots - we need to get a backup as well.
