heeeeyyyyyyyyy, Mother Nature. Did you see what I wrote up there, April 20? One month into Spring, you see?? Why are we still getting snow flurries sticking to our cars? Hmmm? :wait3:

Yes, it is April 20 and I had snow on the windshield of my car this morning. This isn't making me happy. We had to turn the heat *up* in the house yesterday because no one could get warm enough.
But it is also April 20 and I am sitting here at home-- not driving into Newark for the second day of the hearing. Whew!!!!!!!!!!!! That makes me very relieved!

So let's see, what did I do yesterday besides complain about being cold? OMG- I forgot what a wacky morning I had! :pound:
I did all of my normal morning things. Laundry, animal care, dinner in the crockpot. Then I took Floyd to the vet. Not great news but not terrible either. His creatinine levels increased which isn't good and it means he's lost about 75% of renal function. Some cats can live comfortably with 90% loss so if we can stop it from progressing, he can live for another year maybe more. We have to increase his fluids to every other day instead of 2 times a week. He also needs to take Pepcid which should be ... interesting ;) But that might help with the vomiting and prevent him from getting ulcers.

When I got home, I woke Cait up to take her to get blood done. Her tests were fasting while mine was not, but I didn't want to wait around. She didn't want to go but thankfully changed her mind (with some badgering from Gary ha!!!) I remind her to get the Rx from the fridge and she puts it by her purse. We drive to the Lab, but I don't see it in her hand when we get out of the car so I ask where it was. She left it at home. :frusty: I get back in the car to drive back but she offers to go back on her own. I go in, and as soon as I sign in and sit down, she calls me. I took the car keys. I walk back down, and ask her why she didn't just follow me in to get them? :frusty: :frusty:
The phlebotomists have been dealing with my family for years so they get our insanity, which is nice.

In the afternoon, I was able to scrap the last page for the photo book but when I went to order it, there is a sale going on so I can't use the $25 off code until it is over on the 22nd.
But at least the LOs are all done. Now I need to get going on my May challenge prep.

Here is to a calm Friday for everyone! :champagne:

Trudy- I am not sure what 2*C converts to but it has to be close to what we have here-- 35*F. We are going to have sun but cold temps the next few days. I hope that you get warm sunshine by you!
That is too bad about the skies not being very blue. Do you have Nik Collection for PS? They have some filters for making skies look bluer. And it is free :)
One of Scott's friend's fathers had 2 boxes of tests strips of a brand he doesn't use anymore so they passed them along which buys him some more time to continue with this darn fight. :boxing: But the amount of people that want to help is really heartwarming to all of us.

Now you have me curious to see what you are painting. I am sure that it is wonderful and I hope that it is relaxing for you too. Lucky Heather to get summer weather soon but the jumps back and forth must make her crazy.

Nancy- :( Sorry that the Devils lost especially to some dirty plays. Even if they don't win, I can see what a difference between last year's team and this year's. Next year they will do even better.
Bet the chat with your sister cheered you up a lot.

Jean- How did the teams play in PR with the power being out (again??), do they run generators? But must be fun to watch games there and to have memories of it from years ago.
"Being nuts and detrimental to health " Yup-- that about sums up life about now.

Rae- Good for you for staying home and lounging a bit and good for Jen too. Is Jen living with you again? I hope so so that you both can lean on each other when you need to. But if not, I know that you are so tight that you are always a phone call away.
Are the collages to help with eye-hand coordination? If it is, I can go and find my Teacher Hat and see what other ideas I can come up with (aside from stringing macaroni on yarn LOL)

Hugs to all of you!

good morning - the sun is shining which is wonderful but the wind is blowing and the temps are in the low 40s making the wind chill pretty bad. By the weekend we may get near 60. LOL But did hear my weatherman say that for the summer above avg temps and above avg rain. What that translates to is hot and humid. Not looking forward to that. Luther is at doggie day care. Went to make a reservation but they were gone so it is on a first come first serve and so my DH got him there early. I slept until 8 am so I guess I am still catching up on my sleep. Had funny dreams - one I was missing a plane to go to visit Iceland and the other I was late for a test. I have not had a late for a test dream in years. Too funny. Watched hockey and the fact that The Caps won means at least 2 more games in that series but Boston won so they can win when they go home for game 5. For some reason both teams in the Boston/Toronto game were not playing their best. Boston was down their best player so maybe that was why but they have so many great players. The Maple Leafs just seemed to be a bit weak. My team does not play again until Sat afternoon. But the Dept of player safety did not deem the hit on my player worthy of a suspension. LOL. Of all the hits that have resulted in suspension not one player hit was hit and missed a game so the one that is not penalty worthy or suspension worthy but all agreed was a hit to the head did not travel with the team and was hurt. But oh they want to take dangerous head hits out of the game. What a joke. I know that Trudy has mentioned the refs are a joke and it is true. When it comes to the playoffs the refs put the whistles away. I wonder why even have a rule book.

Chris yes I should not have to be still using my space heater in late April. I should have my windows open. It is sad. Glad you got the blood work done but kids! Hope that Floyd does better getting fluids more often. And you are right and that is how I am looking at it. I never thought they would be this good to make the playoffs so I am just enjoying it and will look back and be so happy that they got to be in the playoffs but watching them lose is never fun even when you know the other team is probably better.

Trudy so glad that Boston won! Thanks for cheering for my Devils. Hope you got more accomplished on your painting. Was Mason back in school. Hope the power was restored.

Jean I have not been paying attention and while I knew teams were playing in PR did not realize it was being held while the rest of the island was in total darkness. I feel so bad that that island is getting no help. Glad the game was able to go on but shame the residents of the island probably did not see it.

Rae glad you are taking time for yourself. Hope you are getting some movement from the hospital to move her. Sending hugs! Oh yea hoping Taz is doing well!

Felis don't feel bad when you are having great weather. Does me good to know some one is LOL.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies! Back to dull grey skies again this morning, but its not :rain: yet so that is good. Yesterday afternoon was a pleasant surprise as the temps warmed up to +18 which converts to almost 65 fahrenheit :bliss: I was outside in the afternoon sun pulling dandelions out of our side hill along the driveway and could have almost put my shorts on. It wasn't supposed to be that warm yesterday, so it makes me wonder what the temps are going to be like this summer?? Oh and I finished my painting and I am pleased with the way it turned out. Not sure where I will put it or if I will give it someone, but it was fun to paint again!
So here is a photo of the finished product.

Ok whew that was a long facetime LOL but so enjoyable as Hunter is always such a happy little boy! Mason got back to school yesterday and so that gives his mommy a bit of a break, although she never complains about the boys, they keep each other busy and Mason is a good little helper for her! So sweet!

Chris - Sure hope that you have a nice normal day today, each day is a new adventure for you that is for sure! Poor Floyd, sorry to hear that he is still not doing well. You are very patient with him and it is so nice that you are doing all you can to keep him alive for at least another year at least! I will have to check out that NIK collection for sure! Heather was telling me that she is finally getting sunshine and tonight her and Jonah are going on a date night to see Kevin Hart in concert, that should be good for a lot of laughs!! I hope that they have a wonderful time!

Nancy - Thanks for cheering on my Bruins last night! It helped for sure, and we were worried there for a bit that they might lose. Yes they were down their best player and I think it really affects them, but hopefully when they are back in Boston he will be playing and it will be the last time they have to play the leafs! It must be very late for you to watch these games, we are lucky that way and usually get to see them play at dinner time. Your dreams were too funny, wonder what they mean? Hope Luther has fun at doggie daycare! Good on your DH for getting him there early! Enjoy your day!

Jean - How nice that you get to see the ball games in Puerto Rico! Must have brought back some nice memories for you! I am hoping that you get to enjoy some nicer spring time temps and weather in the coming days, it sounds like the east is suppose to finally get warmer! I did enjoy my time painting, but of course the weather turned warm and I should have been outside more getting the car washed and doing some gardening. Oh well perhaps later today?

Rae - Starting off your days with the tea sounds delicious and oh so good for you! Nice that you took a break from the hospital, it must get overwhelming for you all! Hope that things are going a bit better there and what a great idea to make the collages! Hopefully she enjoys the process at least it keeps her hands and mind busy for a bit! I am sure that there must be some other great ideas out there. Have you had a chance to talk to an Occupational Therapist yet? Yes I would imagine that you and I would have plenty to talk about when we get together! I look forward to the day!

:hello: felis! I hope that you are getting caught up with your work, or enjoying another lovely spring day!

I am off to the shower, then downtown to check out Winners and see what they have in the store this week LOL. I don't really need anything but love to wander around and see what is new. Have a great Friday everyone!

Hello girls,
at first I waked up too late again and didn't have time to write a post for Thursday. So I planned to come after dinner, but at the TV series I watch the girl cancelled lovely wedding with the love of her life, because he is in love with her sister. It's so melodramatic and it's not usual for this show, so I didn't expected it and I know it's ridiculous, but this spoiled my mood. So my sister offered to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's. Yep, I wasn't watch it before, and I saw why it's classic. Love the final with the cat at rain! I will not tell you more, in case you haven't watched it yet, but you should! As Trudy was said, first I was caught up with work, and then we go to the long dog walk. Too ordinary to wort it discuss it.
OK, now I have to catch up two days.

Chris, these problems around the Gary's insulin and strips are so frustrating! I remember one case when mothers of children with diabetes was bought insulin from our near country, because the same brand was cheaper. Is it there a possibility to get the same meds from other state where the prices are lower?! I hope Scott's Drs appt is fine and you are right that all is from stress! I wouldn't be surprised with all worries around his dad, sister and the cat. I'm not absolutely sure do the Cait's blood test are something regularly made, but hope I'm got it right! Sorry to hear that Floyd is not better, but I hope with the time treatment to show it's results!

Nancy, how strange that you remember both of your dreams, most of the time I'm confused what actually I was dream. Did the first one for Iceland means that you plan to go watch this games that you was mentioned?! Oh, no wait it was at Switzerland! And you was plan cruise to Alaska. Hmm, then from where Iceland comes?! I'm happy to hear that your temperatures also go higher finally! Thanks for your encouraging comment, because I felt a little bit guilty because we enjoying on lovely weather till other suffers (73 for the weekend ;) ) .

Jean, sounds like you had fun with the baseball! Oh, I understand you so good about keeping photocopy of the newspaper article, about an event that has additional sentimental touch for you! Aren't this part of the scrapbooking?!

Rae, this for the tea sounds great idea! I also try to start my day without coffee, because I found that I'm start to receive headache if I don't drink coffee, which shows me beginning of some kind addiction, which must be stoped. Tea sounds like better alternative to wake you up. I hope that these collages will helps to B!

Trudy, I would love to see page for your hike to the memorial! I'm child of the mountains and also prefer this views than the sea, so totally understand excitement of these Australian tourist. You lives on a lovely place with the lake and the forest around! Oh, date night on Kevin Hart concert, sounds so cool! I'm not sure who he is, but who cares! I hope Heather wears lovely dress and take lot of fun! She deserve some me time, when is just a woman, not only mom. Great that you have warm weather too! I love the smells of all flowers around! And the colors of all tulips. Exactly like at your awesome painting! :clap2:
It's just lovely! Thanks for sharing it! Love the details on the glass!

I'm wake up early this morning for compensation of previous, and hoped to can read a little bit before others to wake up too. But I feels so tired! And I really needs to read something different than my old diary, and started about 5 books on different subject, but none of them can't catch my mind long enough to distract me from thinking too much. Maybe is better to try some of the other task. Wish to you all, lovely and warm weekend!
