TGIF and another beautiful day here in NJ!~
I was listening to some comments about how March was the hottest month on record in the US and how so many people were saying it was a guilty pleasure. That is exactly how I felt. Even though I know it is a sign of climate issues, it sure has been nice. I have to admit, I am glad I am not teaching Prek any more. The whole "In like a lion, out like a lamb" and "April Showers bring May Flowers" ..... Looks like they don't work so well here.

Cait's BFF is also participating in A Day of Silence today (anti-LGBT bullying organization). I am not sure who it is going to be harder on- Cait or her BFF. LOL I am always so proud of the kids who take a stand on things like that.

Its also 4/20 and Gary and Scott might be going to a NJ NORML (cannibis legalization) Fair at a local college today.

Tomorrow is out town's Earth Day celebration, where we do a roadside cleanup and then a picnic at one of the town parks.

Its a really good thing I am all for activism because I'd be in trouble otherwise, eh?

(hide the soapbox, hide it now!!!!!!!!)

:D

Day Three this week of cleaning for work, cleaning here, paying bills- yes, still procrastinating). Then I am making some food for a get-together at my neighbor's tonight then for our annual "b-fast before road cleanup" tomorrow. Roasted red pepper dip for tonight and banana bread for tomorrow.

Finish it Friday- my bills, I really, really have to pay those darn bills!

xoxo

Morning- I bought some tomatoes and strawberries yesterday and herbs too- planted the tomatoes and have to get the rest planted sometime this weekend! My husband has had a long week this week and will finally be home tonight- yeah!

Phyllis- are there even any payphones left any more??? If there are, that is a great idea!!!:pound: Sad thing is that all I would do is yell at some low-paid data entry person. The person who needs to hear that big F Off would be the CEO and I sure won't be able to get his or her phone number LOL
How did your dr's appt go? One one hand, I hope that they didn't find anything, on the other hand, I know how frustrating it is to go through a gazillion tests and have the dr say Nope. You're fine.
Hopefully they found something really really minor.
I love what your dad would say about drs, that had me lol-ing.

Linda S- its friday! Bet you are happy about that! What are you reading now?

Laurie bwuahahahahah!!! That naked woman comment-- hysterical!!!!!!!
Hope your appt went well!

Kristy- ouch! Hope the shot works quickly for your DH.

Trudy- I'll bring my gardening gloves!!! :plane:
Enjoy your day off and your long weekend! Hoipe that you slept better too.

Nana- I am so happy that you got some sleep! Your body needed that desperately. That Savannah- too funny. :D

Maureen- I can't imagine the life those women must have had- and will most likely still have. It does make me thankful for what I have.

** I finally got to see the Dr Phil show on Chronic Lyme last night. It was another thought of how thankful I am that the kids and I are better. I know it is really hard on Gary but could you imagine how hard it would be if I was as sick as him? At the same time? Or if my kids were stillas sick as they were? I couldn't take it. I have to always keep my eyes on the positive and how far we have come and how each day gets the 3 of us better. One day, Gary will get better too.

Anyway, back to Maureen-- cornstarch in your window cleaner? Can you link me up with the recipe? I clean with a lot of vinegar, so I love recipes like that.

xoxo to all of you!!
Have a fantastic and fun-filled day!!!

the Hose Up the Nose appointment went fine. the Dr. was unimpressed, but did cauterize stuff in one side of my nose. then the nurse told me not to blow my nose for 10days. right. that'll work, with my nose dripping like a faucet. so. on to the next annoying thing going wrong with my body. it hasn't shown up yet, but i'm sure it will....

Chris, i can't imagine how hard you work at being well for everyone. i sometimes think that guys don't work as hard. my husband ALWAYS manages to be sicker than i am, when i AM sick. we ladies are such Amazons.

Nana, i so get ya about being stiff as a board when you have a good night's sleep! i'm still recovering from a "good night's sleep" i had a few days ago. my left arm has had a toothache since then!

Maureen, in Pittsburgh the preferred spelling and pronunciation is "Li-bary." right up there with "chimbley."

dunno what i'm going to do today. i should get OUT, since it's going to be a gorgeous day today, and then the weather's going to get to be awful this weekend. maybe i'll go out and look for some clothes. i need a spring uniform (lots of the same pieces of clothes in different colors.) my Land's End fleece top collection got me through the winter. now i need some "don't think about it, just throw it on" spring stuff wear every day.... i am SUCH a stylish chick. honestly....

YAY FRIDAY!

Morning peeps

Early up and at em, kinda, today. I had thought of doing a book run to drop off books for the DC middle school we buy for and then on to Day 1 of a BIG book sale in Bethesda. I hate, truly hate driving the Beltway around DC but if I did a book drop off first, I'd be driving up through the city with normal streets and traffic lights. Slower but saner.

However, I'm going for an energy session at 9:15 instead of my midday time today. My friend is a dear but she is always switching the time around for this or that. Fortunately, I'm usually ok , since any time she says is always followed by an -ish. If I say 9:30, I mean 9:30 but am ok usually with 10 min or so leeway for YOU. Now my engineer husband says 9:30 and means 9:30, not 9:25 or 9:34. We humans are interesting.

So my day has changed. I seriously need to take a shower and wash the frickin' pollen out of my hair and eyes..I suspect I got what's bugging my eyes from pollen on my hair which would have gone onto the pillow...hatchhooo!! Then breakfast, then leave.

Back to y'all later.

Phylis.....my husband would have probably asked that nurse "if I can't blow my nose for 10 days, how am I going to get all those buggers out?" :pound: What a PIA!!! or in the case a PIN!!! and yes that pain in the arms is EXACTLY like a very annoying toothache!!!!

Maureen...my husband is a ON TIME FREAK....9:30 MEANS 9:30 period!!! I have driven on that beltway about 3 times....NOOOOOOOOOOOOO THANK YOU!!!!

Chris......wonder if there is some way to get my "littles" to participate in "A DAY OF SILENCE"? :pound: I guess not :hurt: Good for those kids that do...it is a fabulous cause....I was bullied as a kid....I was very meek and intimidated by everything..and we moved so much, I never meshed in school very well. DON'T TRY TO BULLY ME NOW....I will smack your head off

HI LAURIE....let me know when the toms are grown in...I want some!! I LOVE home grown!!!!!

Well.....I am off to the shower...I have a load of paperwork to carry around and get filled out this morning....the state is going to help us with just a tad bit of money for the children....($254/mo)...and I have to get them information from EVERYWHERE.....some is better than none....those little crumb snatchers EAT LIKE NO TOMORROW IS COMING!!!! we are getting this simply because the kids are not our children....and the parents do not help out in anyway.

The weekend brings loads of rain for us...so I will be inside all weekend...hopefully if the kids go to my Moms for a few hours tomorrow I will get to scrap some...but if it's clear at all, I want to try and take the kids to the kite festival for a couple of hours...I think they would really like that!

Morning ladies... Day off but up just as early as every other day :frusty: Would love to sleep in just once!! Oh well it means I get to be here longer today!! A very exciting day for my hubby!! Will be able to fill you in on the info after this afternoon (not allowed to tell anyone, or they will have to shoot me!) Sorry that's mean isn't it :eyebrows: I have learned over the years that it is better if he doesn't tell me stuff about his work LOL.

Chris - Get your darn bills paid girl!!! LOL Hope you have fun at your get together tonight and how great that the whole neighborhood gets together to clean up!! WTG Cait for participating in anti bullying day!! It is such a huge issue in so many schools now! My DD was bullied when we moved to a new town when she was in grade 9, she was the new pretty girl and the others would not accept her, we ended up sending her back to our old town and she finished school there. Not sure if that was the right thing to do, but she was happier!!

Laurie - Mmmmm strawberries!! and tomatoes, please send some this way ! Glad your hubby gets to come home today!!

Phylis - You are hysterical girl!! :pound: love your spelling of words in Pittsburgh!! I bet you really are a styling chick!! I should come shopping with you, sounds like my kind of wardrobe! Haven't had the toothache in the arm yet, but sometimes my hips have that pain in the morning, damm it sucks to get older!!

Maureen - Sounds like a busy day for you, hope getting the pollen out of your hair does the trick! It is thick with pollen on my back deck, so glad that I have never had allergy issues, by the looks of the amount of pollen on my table outside I would be suffering awful if I did! Drive safely today!!

Nana Linda - Hope you get your much needed break from the kids tomorrow, although going to the kite festival sounds like it would be lots of fun for them! Horray on the extra $$ although I am sure it is not nearly enough, but every little bit helps right??
Hard to believe that you were ever bullied, you are such a strong woman! I wouldn't want to mess with you :boxing: :becky:

Hope you all have a wonderful day !!

Hey girls - it feels like it has been SO long since I was here last! Things have gone from crazy to just plain nuts. I was hanging in by my fingernails, but I have come to the tough decision that I need to sell my house. :( My husband and I had this home custom-built less than 3 years ago. But...he isn't here anymore and I just can't afford it. I tried bringing in a roommate - and that helped, but I am still barely able to make the payment. AND she has a dog that sheds SO BAD, but that is another discussion entirely. So, let's all cross our fingers and toes that the house sells quickly. I also might have found a rental - a cute little farmhouse with rooms big enough for my stuff and a great yard for the girls to play in. Cross them again that it is within my price range. :)

Hello ladies. Interesting day here. I volunteered at Shaun's school today. That was fun. And we ended it with an assembly with dancers from Senegal. Then, for the really fun part...they had all of the teachers up to dance and one of the dancers thought I was a teacher and drug me out of the bleachers to dance in front of about 750 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. All the while I was thinking...we need to wrap this up so I can get to Sydney's school and pick her up on time.

And, we are thinking about buying a different house...which means this one needs to get sold. Exhausting.

I'll be back later with personals.

oh my LindaS you have had an exciting day!! Whats with you and Stef both selling your houses??
