If I had a nickel for every time I had a doctor's appt, I would be so rich I could pay my medical bills! Grrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

I heard back from my dr yesterday. Liver enzymes are still high, even being off of the Rocephin. Now I need to go and get an abdominal ultrasound to check my liver out- probably gallbladder too. Rochepin is notorious for messing with your gallballder which is why she hadn't put me on it before. But how freaking maddening that the Rocephin/Bactrim combo seems to be going in the right direction???? The last week or so, I have actually been seeing some improvement. I hate my body!! I usually mean that is a body dysmorphic/eating disordered way, but today I hate it wholly from a medical standpoint.

While I had no big plans each day this week, today I have the 2 bus stop runs, a Junior Meeting at the school with Cait and her Guidance counselor-- which will be easy-peasy. We have to go over career ideas, college app process and schools she is looking at etc. We know all of this already. She is going into Early Childhood Ed, is going to go to PCCC (2 year community), will get Early Decision in December and will be all set. Somehow in the middle of that I have to call the Radiology Center and see if I can get an appt for the u/s. Call my dr to have them fax the Rx for it. My mom is coming up at 11 to take me out to lunch and she has no idea about the liver s***. What should have been a nice, positive energy day is now getting medically stressful. What else is new?

I guess that is enough of me complaining.
:sorry:

To end on a positive-ish note:
QOTD What are you grateful for today?
I am grateful for my family, and how close we all are. I am grateful that my kids never stop amazing me with their intelligence, their kindness, their humor. I am grateful that Gary listens to me rant about medical crap and understands my frustrations.
I am grateful for all of YOU for not banning me from here :pound:

Hugs and love and sanity to all!!

Nancy- what is different about the hockey playoffs? The teams or are they changing how they run? What did you cook for dinner? I made zucchini black bean quesadillas the other night and they were delicious!!
DMV-- uuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh. Almost as bad as trying to replace a birth certificate! LOL

Laurie- so jealous of your kitchen! If I could redo one "room"in my house, it would be the kitchen. My ILs are following that same path as you. They have been slowly redoing stuff in their house, since they are considering downsizing. But if they don't, they will have a nice house to stay in. :)

Sharon- OMG, how horrible for DS!!! My mom had told me that she had heard about that scam on the news. I hope this gets sorted out quickly. I really don't understand people any more. :(
:cheer2: <~ me cheering you on from the bleachers at the pool!!!!! Woo hoo!!!

Trudy- Thank goodness no root canal! Sorry about the crown though, but that has to be easier and less expensive to deal with, right?
What a bad hair/perm story! Glad you were able wear a hat!

Jean- The weather has been really nice here too- still chilly for me, but at least it isn't freezing. I don't have many flowers blooming yet, but hopefully soon.
Cait had to speak with a detective about something that she saw. I am proud of her for speaking up.

Time to get off of my butt... xoxoxo!!!!!!!

Good morning - Had a great talk with my sister. She asked me for a big favor and I all she wanted was to come visit and bring her step-daughter and her step-daughters family. So it would be like 6 people. They are all so nice. It will be such fun. But they are not coming until next April. But it is so fun to have that to look forward to. Then I did my good mother deed. As I mentioned yesterday the title to the car we sold was lost. As my husband has wanted nothing to do with cars it has always fallen on me. So I am the only one who could get the duplicate title. Luckily our insurance agent is just downtown so I walked and got all the insurance info. Went to the DMV and filled out the application. Stood in line for less than 5 min. They printed the title right then and I was done in less than 15 min. Wow! What a joy that was. Gave my title to my son when he stopped by after work so that is one less thing hanging over my head. Yea! But then I got the bad news about my son's car. The clutch needs replacing for the part is on back order for 6-8 weeks. LOL. But luckily it can still be driven. So nice to have my own mechanic. We had a nice talk too. Always fun to have one on one time with each son. Got in a good walk as the weather was really nice! Still needs to be a tad warmer. Today I will walk again. Finally catching up on all my laundry.

Chris I am not surprised that trying to fix one medical problem can cause other effects. The way our bodies systems are so interconnected it makes sense but the best news is is that your doctor is on top of all this. The most important thing is to have a really good doctor and it sounds like you do! Have fun today with your mom! And l am hearing that tomorrow the temps will be in the 70s. Hockey play offs are best 4 of 7 games. There are 4 rounds before you win the Stanley Cup. The teams really hate each other by the time they have finished each round. That makes it so much more intense than the regular season.

Sharon your day sounds so fun with DDG. Sharon I guess one thing about having to pay taxes instead of get a refund means no one wants to hijack my info. LOL. But I really am sorry to hear this about your son. It such a nightmare. Glad you are having such nice weather.

Laurie I hear you about taxes. But this year was so nice having some one else do it for us.

Trudy a crown is much easier than root canal. I am sure it will be nice to be able to eat normally again. That was an amazing hair story. Glad it turned out ok in the end and you did end up with your main guy! Your skype sessions sound so fun. Both my sister and I could Skype but since it is so early in the day we figure we may scare each other LOL!

Jean have fun presenting your project and enjoy the weather!

QOTD (hair stories) My only hair story is that when I was in high school I straightened my hair so I could look like Cher. I wish now that I had left it curly but straight was so in.

QOTD I am grateful every day that I am an optimist. Both my DIL and one of my girlfriends focus so much on the negative I find it hard to be around them at times. My DIL and I had a great time but she told me that my son forgot to say I love you one day - just one day all last year and that is what she focuses on instead of being grateful for the 364 days he did say I love you. So I will continue to see the glass half full!

Have a great Friday!

I did it. Was awake just before 6:30 (when the pool opens), so hauled myself over there. Only one other person in the pool! I hope they don't cancel the early morning time because of lack of interest! Anyway, pushed off and immediately got a cramp in my calf! LOL It wasn't bad, but what a shock. I can't swim like I used to!!!!!!!!!! I was always a FISH! I swam miles every week. Today I worked myself up to 10 crawl strokes in a row, and was huffing and puffing. Had to do the back stroke most of the time I was there. Finally stopped after 4 laps (or is it 8?...I think 4...back and forth 4 times). Anyway, the pool is only 6 or 7 minutes away, so I spent a little more time there than my total minutes in the car, but not much! LOL Sure do feel good now though, and I held off having any coffee until I got home...my reward! I'm actually feel invigorated, and will go back Monday. My first mini-goal is to do a length entirely in crawl. I think you should all send me One Million Cyber Points when I accomplish that! LOL

Yesterday was so nice. DH pressure washed the outside of the gutters, and will do the patio today. But the fun part was riding our bikes to the local veggie market (about 1.25 miles!), and getting salad fixin's for the salad I'm taking to pre-Bible study dinner tonight. I had Dave leave my bike on the garage floor instead of hanging it back up on the wall, because I plan to take a neighborhood ride today.

I've also been scrapping up a storm...10 pages, I think, just of DS's family trip to Long Beach (WA), and 2 pages of DD's outing to the Lamb and Wool Festival. Some of DS's pages are just one glorious sunset or sea grass/ocean/sun flare shots, so only took 10 mintues. I'm LOVING this LO by NancyR (https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/s...&title=annalift-9-14-12fall-birthday&cat=1351), so am going to scraplift it into a greeting card with a photo of a tulip I took at DS's house the other day, then ran thru some camera apps. I'll probably post that one when it's done.

Chris, sounds like a busy day for you...mixed bag too. Good for Cait speaking up! Takes a lot of courage.

Trudy, glad the tooth issue is a crown, not a root canal. My mouth is full of both. Your hair story has to top them all! Why is Hair such a hurkin' deal with us????

Today I feel especially grateful for my reasonably good health. I so sympathize with you, especially, Chris, over the chronic serious debilitating health issues you must cope with. And so many of my peers are suffering with the things that come with aging. Yesterday I told my daughter that I was doing the swimming and cycling for HER! ...because I didn't want her to have to do for me as I had to for MY mother (who's only exercise the last 15 years of her life was taking the extra steps in the grocery store to find the cookies and candy she wasn't supposed to eat! ............actually I'm also doing it for me, because I'd like to be able to WALK the golf courses around here, not use a power cart. On the AZ courses we play, a power cart is pretty much required, but around here, walking is doable.

I'm hoping that by the end of the day I will also be grateful that my DD's house deal is finalized....still no word. They were hoping by the end of this week. Well, the end is here! Pins and Needles!

Go gently.

 Now I'm cross-posting with you, Nancy! Usually it's Trudy. Love your story about something governmental going well! WOOT. Sorry about the clutch. With cars, it's always something, it seems.

Hope you have a nice walk and enjoy your playoffs.

Morning dear ladies... I was up early and made both DH and myself a steaming hot bowl of porridge for breakfast, it was so good!! I like to do this at least once a week, I feel bad that DH gets up so early for work (when he should be retired:mmph:) and only has a bowl of cold cereal for breakfast. I am usually snoring in bed after having a fitful night. But last night I slept like the dead, it was so nice to get up and actually feel refreshed and not exhausted for a change!! :becky:

Chris - Omg!! Girl it is just never ending for you!! But yet you find so much to be grateful for, good for you!!! What a great girl your Cait is for speaking up, a brave thing to do for sure! I found that photo of me in the hat, actually the hair looks pretty good, but underneath the hat was a fried up, dried mess of frizz!!! It took weeks for it to look normal again. I am sitting with my future SIL Linda on a swing at our Aunt Betty's house, oh my such a long time ago!! Get a load of those shoes I am wearing!! Yikes I would kill myself on those now!! LOL!!

Nancy - How exciting that you will have a house full of fun people, even if it isn't until next year, you have plenty of time to prepare for it!! Glad that things went so smoothly for you at the DMV, I bet that does not happen too often! The men in your family are so lucky to have you in their lives!! Too bad about the clutch problems with your son's car though. It is sad when so many are so negative about things, it is a good thing to distance yourself from that kind of negative energy! I hope that your positive outlook rubs off onto your DIL and she sees her husband for the wonderful man that he seems to be! Hope you have a great walk today!!

Sharon - Hooray for the lap swimming, you were up early to get it done, that is something I should also do but I think that the pool is very busy in the early hours with people getting in the swim time before heading to work. Yes a lap is considered back and fourth from one end to the other. You are doing wonderfully, keep it up and you will be swimming miles before you know it. Too bad about the cramp though, that is discouraging, but it will take some time before you don't feel winded, I still need to stop quite often to catch my breath!! I am up to 35 laps now, mostly front crawl, but I like to mix it up and do backstroke, sidestroke and breast stroke too. I am thinking of taking a lesson to make my swimming better, improve my stroke and figure out how to do that darn flip at the end of each length of the pool. It is funny that our hair was such a big thing when we were younger, now I could care less about having long flowing curls, in fact I started straightening it shortly after this hair disaster and would use my mom's iron and ironing board to get it nice and straight before school everyday. Oh brother

Well DD will be skypeing soon, oh did I tell you she finally has her washing machine back!! They sent the part to B.C. instead of Ontario so that was a week of waiting that should not have happened. Anyway Maytag covered the cost of the parts and most of the labour so hooray, she finally got some good news for a change!! I am heading out to swim after talking with her and then I really want to do some scrapping, but I never seem to find the time lately. Have a fabulous friday ladies!!

Trudy, you looked fabulous! But you're right about those shoes, what a hoot.

Last night I was asked if there were a way to speed up the process of our project. I told them, yes, get a new person. I don't think that's what they expected. In the end I got an official assistant. She helped me last year and is good at it and we had fun together. She even lives near me! So next January I'll really have help. That way I can't put it off like this year. Today look's lovely, but I have things to do to get ready for a meeting tomorrow.

Chris, wishing you well with everything today and that u/s. Hope you enjoy lunch with your mother. Cait sounds really squared away with school and is really making you proud personally. You sure do have some good things to be grateful for even though you have to get through all the rest of what life is throwing at you.

Nancy, how nice to have all that time to get ready for your visitors. Love when folks are so thoughtful. Those playoff series really do get intense. Nice to have DMV come through nicely, how unusual! Still think you should get a little more appreciation for all you take care of for the guys. Enjoy the walks, sounds nice.

Sharon! Congrats on starting at the pool. Adding in the bike riding you sound very energetic now. And all that scrapping too! Nice seeing someone having it come together so well.

Trudy, glad you had a good night's sleep and could do breakfast for both of you. Weird the part went to the wrong place - by a LOT. But DD must be happy now with it fixed.

QOTD: Always grateful for DH, and for relatively good health, ability to do things in genealogy, art, scrapping and mostly keeping an optimistic outlook. My desire is to be like certain relatives who kept a sunny disposition even when things weren't so great.
