I have been up since 4 am. Yesterday was 3.30, with a bit of drifting off here and there, but not this morning. Yesterday I woke up when Gary's insulin pump alarm went off. If there is a kink in the line or he runs out of insulin or other malfunction- it alarms. Last night, I woke up, then he started snoring, and then there was a really loud thunderstom. I forced myself to stay in bed until after 5am... but here I am.

Trudy- on a good note- I was listening to A Breath of Snow and Ashes, and I am at the funeral scene (I don't want to give anything away) but I had to chuckle about that one!:p

Scott got home last night around 7.30 pm, looking pretty miserable. I guess he was about halfway home when the Novocaine started to wear off. (yup-- we live about 45 minutes away from the surgeon's office-- of course!). Gary dropped off his Rx's, then got Scott home for some fresh ice packs and, then went back out to pick the Rxs up. I guess it is one good thing about this town-- we have lots of pharmacies within 5 minutes. He was swollen, but not horrible so. I hope that it doesn't get any worse today.

The oral surgeon also told him that he can only have soft foods for a month. Eesh! So I have one kid who doesn't eat beef/pork, and now nothing hard or crunchy. Another who is vegetarian, one SO who is lactose intolerant, and no fish, and the other SO doesn't like anything with spinach or tomatoes. Dinners are going to be even more fun. I am racking my brain for ideas- eggs, egg salad, banana bread (no walnuts) smoothies, pastina, soups, pancakes- I was going to make black bean quesadillas one day next week if he was able to eat that, but I guess I am going to have to hold off a bit.

I know he is almost 19, but my poor baby!

Caitlyn's hair came out soooo cool! I am so jealous! It looks amazing. She had it pulled up in a pony tail and the lavender streaks underneath really pop. She was ready for a funky hair color again but didn't want to have to bleach it so only the highlights needed to be bleached, everything else is dark brown with a purple undertone. I can't wait to get some pics of it. Noel, our cousin, also said that she can't wait to her hands on my hair- she wants to do a mocha blond underneath with some lighter highlights on top. She is too funny. :)

Today should be a calm-ish day. Everyone will be home except when Cait goes to work tonight. More rain today but sun tomorrow and chilly- Sunday should be nice, so I would like to try and get some yard work done. It is going to be a "process"-- work 15 minutes, rest 15 mins, lather, rinse, repeat. tee-hee!
I bet it will feel great though!!

QOTD Do you have your wisdom teeth? I had mine taken out in 2007? Maybe? All 4 at once, all impacted and my bottom left, was laying sideway on the nerve. Little funny note-- my dad and Scott both have the same issue. In fact, the oral surgeon didn't take that one out of Scott b/c he didn't want to risk damaging the nerve, and have a numb side of his face like my dad has. I have no idea if that is genetic at all, but funny that we all had the same thing.

lOve the O!
Morning O fam- today I am thankful that it should be the last day of storms. I am getting ready to head to work and plan on scrapping when I get home. On the Hmmmm front, my camera needed cleaning and a co-worker took it to the only camera store within 2 hours from me, and now I cannot get ahold of the store, I left a when will it be done message on Tuesday, and yesterday called again and the voicemail was full. Praying everything is okay- it is only a camera body, however, I wanted it for an upcoming trip. Okay- breakfast!

Laurie- I haven't heard out sump pump turn on yet, so maybe the rain last night didn't do too much. Hope your basement is staying *dry* after all that you went through with it. 60's... that sounds wonderful-- we were at 37* yesterday. Yup-- lovely.

Trudy- I am glad I am not the only one who has mixed feeling about Angelina J. I forgot about how Brad left Jennifer-- they were just such a cute couple!! That is so nice that you had a great coffee visit with your sister and niece. How old is your niece? I miss having coffee with my BFF- I haven't seen her since Christmas. :(
Are you just staining the table/mirror or are you going to do any decorative paining on it too? Would love to see some pics!

Do you or anyone else have any experience with chalkboard paint? Years ago, we bought a white pantry cabinet from Walmart and the finish is starting to rub off. I would love to paint the doors with the chalkboard paint, and the fam could write on it if we were running low on food, or of they had a dinner idea or even if that just wanted to doodle. Gary is concerned that the paint might not stick since it is cheap press board.

Shar- I love hearing good news about the house!! *fingers and toes crossed*
Did you go on your bike ride? I hope your butt doesn't hurt today :D
*gushes* Romy is a doll, isn't she? I was so insanely excited when she became a designer here.

QOTD-- I have quite a collection of Mickey watches. And a Minnie one too. Gary used to get a new MM watch each time we went to Disney. Neither of us wear them anymore. I have a silver bracelet one that I sometimes were when I am dressed up but not typically. They would have gotten in the way when I was at work. I miss working!!!!! OK- not the actual job but the money! It wasn't a lot, but dang it helped.
Anyway, now I use my phone as a watch/alarm clock. I need to know what time it is, so I am not late for drs appts. :eek:hwell:

Up here it is not a good idea to ride bikes on the roads, but that doesn't stop them. We have a lot of roads like Trudy- twisting mountain roads- lots of places where you can't see far ahead of you. One of my peeves is when they ride in groups and there is no way to get around them, they don't ride single file. You come around a curve-- mph is usually posted at 50- and there are like 15 of them, right in front of you. When I was teaching Scott how to drive I showed him all of the spots to be extra cautious.

Bwuahahahahah!!! Too funny about the FB photo postings!

Jean- so good to see you! I hope that you can get everything done that needs to be done!

Morning ladies... the big black :rain: clouds are moving in today, so I guess our short stint with the warm sunshine is over for a while

Chris - Uggh on the awful sleep!! I am there with you!! Toss and turn every single night!!! I am sick of it and my only wish is to have a full night of uninterrupted sleep  The chalkboard paint sounds cool!! Great idea and I found this article that says you can paint it on particle board and you can make it any colour that you want also. Here is the link... http://www.perfectlyimperfectblog.com/2011/06/chalk-paint-faqs.html
I hope that it is helpful for you! Hope Scott does not get any more swollen and that he heals quickly!! I think that your funny wisdom teeth are most likely an inherited gene!! Just like most things about us, we are a product of our parents and their parents :becky: My poor SIL (the one who lost her husband a couple of years ago) Just found out that she has a horrible form of arthritis , the exact type that her Grandmother had!! Poor Grandma Seed developed a Dowagers hump and was in constant pain!!! Although she never complained, not once!! SIL however is not that type and she will be on good drugs for the rest of her life!! I have finished two staining projects, one was a pine dresser that was my Mother's and the other was a small side table that was also a light colour. They are both dark now and they turned out pretty good. Next project will be the mirror. I will take some photos and show you soon.

Laurie - I sure hope that your camera is safe!! Some business people just are not good at replying to calls or perhaps he has stepped out for a bit and doesn't check his messages!! Hope you get it back before your upcoming trip!!

QOTD - I have had two wisdom teeth pulled, top one popped right out, bottom one was a nightmare!! Then because I was a stupid smoker and would not quit smoking while I was trying to heal, I got dry socket!!! OMG the most painful thing I have ever experienced. So when they wanted to pull the other side, I told them when pigs fly!!!! I haven't seen any flying pigs lately :flypig: opps there goes one now LOL!! Happy to say that I quit smoking many, many years ago and the dentist is recommending that I have the other wisdom teeth taken out still, even though they do not bother me at all!! Do they get commission on these teeth or what??

Ok I need more coffee and a bit of breakfast, hope you all have a fabulous friday!! Do something fun!!

Hope Scott has a restful/healing day, and that the tooth that was left in does not cause problems down the road.

Laurie, hope you get your camera back in time for your trip, but if not, USE YOUR PHONE CAMERA! I use my phone camera all the time now...the DSLR is sitting in its bag on a shelf, and hasn't seen the light of day in over a year.

Trudy! Of course! Dentists have to send THEIR kids to college too! ;) My medical/dental philosophy is, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

We had a short neighborhood ride yesterday, which felt wonderful. It is too early for DH to put the bike rack on the car (it stays there once on, until the end of the season), so until the weather stablizes, it will just be neighborhood rides. Bummy is no worse for wear. :) ION: Bathing suit top has been shipped!

DD found out that "the loan officer looked over our appraisal and they say it looks great and went exactly how we would have hoped it to go. Now they want us to set up homeowners insurance".... SO! One giant step closer! :D WOOT

I love the "O"
hello

I didn´t talk to much the last days , because we have soooo much sun and it was soooo hot ..yeah !!! I love to stay at my balcony in the sun. I sit in my chair , take the seat back and after a few minutes I snooze, hopefully not snoring because my neighbours are also at their terrace.
Chris : my son took out all his wisdom teeth at once last year. He stayed at home I think one week, but only the first 2 or 3 days he ate soft food. After he could ate almost normal.
I´m not sure if I took my wisdom teeth out or if I still have them. As a child so many teeth were pulled out that I can´t remember.
My daughter made a X-Ray last year and the doctor already said her wisdom teeth have to be taken out.
