I have been up since 4 am. Yesterday was 3.30, with a bit of drifting off here and there, but not this morning. Yesterday I woke up when Gary's insulin pump alarm went off. If there is a kink in the line or he runs out of insulin or other malfunction- it alarms. Last night, I woke up, then he started snoring, and then there was a really loud thunderstom. I forced myself to stay in bed until after 5am... but here I am.
Trudy- on a good note- I was listening to A Breath of Snow and Ashes, and I am at the funeral scene (I don't want to give anything away) but I had to chuckle about that one!
Scott got home last night around 7.30 pm, looking pretty miserable. I guess he was about halfway home when the Novocaine started to wear off. (yup-- we live about 45 minutes away from the surgeon's office-- of course!). Gary dropped off his Rx's, then got Scott home for some fresh ice packs and, then went back out to pick the Rxs up. I guess it is one good thing about this town-- we have lots of pharmacies within 5 minutes. He was swollen, but not horrible so. I hope that it doesn't get any worse today.
The oral surgeon also told him that he can only have soft foods for a month. Eesh! So I have one kid who doesn't eat beef/pork, and now nothing hard or crunchy. Another who is vegetarian, one SO who is lactose intolerant, and no fish, and the other SO doesn't like anything with spinach or tomatoes. Dinners are going to be even more fun. I am racking my brain for ideas- eggs, egg salad, banana bread (no walnuts) smoothies, pastina, soups, pancakes- I was going to make black bean quesadillas one day next week if he was able to eat that, but I guess I am going to have to hold off a bit.
I know he is almost 19, but my poor baby!
Caitlyn's hair came out soooo cool! I am so jealous! It looks amazing. She had it pulled up in a pony tail and the lavender streaks underneath really pop. She was ready for a funky hair color again but didn't want to have to bleach it so only the highlights needed to be bleached, everything else is dark brown with a purple undertone. I can't wait to get some pics of it. Noel, our cousin, also said that she can't wait to her hands on my hair- she wants to do a mocha blond underneath with some lighter highlights on top. She is too funny.
Today should be a calm-ish day. Everyone will be home except when Cait goes to work tonight. More rain today but sun tomorrow and chilly- Sunday should be nice, so I would like to try and get some yard work done. It is going to be a "process"-- work 15 minutes, rest 15 mins, lather, rinse, repeat. tee-hee!
I bet it will feel great though!!
QOTD Do you have your wisdom teeth? I had mine taken out in 2007? Maybe? All 4 at once, all impacted and my bottom left, was laying sideway on the nerve. Little funny note-- my dad and Scott both have the same issue. In fact, the oral surgeon didn't take that one out of Scott b/c he didn't want to risk damaging the nerve, and have a numb side of his face like my dad has. I have no idea if that is genetic at all, but funny that we all had the same thing.
