Happy Saturday, my dears. How are you today? I am COLD. Cannot get warm at all. I think after Cait and I get home from the food pantry, I am going to bundle up in sweats and a hat and a bunch of blankets. Good plan, right?
Both kids got to school fine, they said roads had some ice on them but nothing crazy. My driveway and lawn, however, were so icy that the dogs were sliding on the grass. It was deceptive that it didn't look at that slippery and they would run, and next thing you know, they are slipping around. W has a new favorite cold weather "snack" -- frozen leaves. The ice coated the leaves and made them very crunchy. At one point, she had some in her mouth when she came inside and once they were "defrosted" she spit them out onto the floor. That dog is weird!
Cait and I spent our time waiting in the Dr's office looking at silly animal pictures on her phone. I *really* want a hedgehog. She says that they are pretty difficult to care for so it is a good thing for that because I would have a whole bunch otherwise. They are so freaking adorable. The appt went well, she was able to get her concerns all taken care of an that will be good to have crossed off of the list.
We finished watching Godless last night- thank you so much for the recommendation again, Trudy. I really liked it. I was so impressed at how complex the characters were and loved seeing the backstories. The only thing I think that I missed was why Alice was bad luck. Maybe it was addressed and I wasn't paying attention.
We are going to start Carbon something or other on Netflix tonight- a sci-fi series that is getting good reviews.
I have to get rolling-- my day is calling me to get started.
