Happy Leap Day! Do we have any Leap Babies here at the O? I personally don't know any myself, how about you?

As you can see from my post, I didn't get lost under piles of stuff from my closet so that was good news. The other good(ish) news is that after taking everything out and moving a 5-shelf bookcase that is in there, there were absolutely no signs of mice. That is good but doesn't solve the mystery of the scratching sounds coming from inside the wall. Cait and I have heard it several times each so I know I am not imagining it. We joke that it is the old man with the cane from The Haunting of Hill House. Well, *I* joke, Cait is freaked out. That man scared the heck out of her. No one has any idea where the sound is coming from, it has to be somewhere in the basement maybe?

That task took up the majority of my day. I spent some time with Floyd and the rats. Floyd is getting weaker and had an accident right outside of the litter box, I guess it is hard for him to get in it. I am mad at myself. I recycled a bunch of aluminum casserole trays that had gotten all bent in the cabinet. I could have used them as a lower-sided litter box. I wonder if I have anything else that I could use.

I have nothing on my plate for today other than getting myself organized. I really should; spent some time on my taxes. But ATM, I need to go and take Ray outside.
HAGD!!!

Nancy- That is too bad that the Devils lost in OT- esp since you stayed up late to watch. Did you enjoy the quiet in the afternoon? Sounds soooo wonderful!
How awesome to have the pool to yourself.

Rae- I hope that you were able to get most if not all of your desk work done so you don't have too much to do this weekend. I really love all of the pics you post on FB, such great close-ups of the squirrels.

Trudy- did you ever see the sun? It is very sunny here today and even though it is cold, it isn't frigid. Def. not yardwork weather, but I am happy that it is good for you. Yikes about all of the snow that Heather is dealing with but I bet the boys are having so much fun.

Kay- the Mini Os are fab as always! I love how they work so well together. I will have to check your pages out soon. Uhhhh-- that is not a lot of time at all to have a house on the market. Wow. Will you be ready in time? Do closings go very quickly too?

Morning, gals. Will be heading over to DD#1's in just a little while. DD#3 will coming down to pick up some baby items that DD#1 has. I have some toys that I will see if she wants, too.

Wow, I have been doing some hard thinking and measuring furniture, etc to get ready for when my cousin moves here. She lives in Florida and has a double-wide mobile home. So the closing on it is like selling an vehicle [no land sale involved]. She is in the middle of winnowing things out, packing things, etc. As it could be a short time on the sale, we are both trying to figure things out now to make the transition easier.

Sorry no personals today. DD#1 just called - so heading over to her house. CYL

Morning ladies... well I never made it back here at all for personals :sorry: After helping DH for a bit I got some things done behind the scenes here and then went to work on my painting. I almost started it all over again from scratch as I was not happy with the way it was looking. But I simply stepped away for a bit and then did a few changes on it and now I am happy again LOL. It would have been a lot of work starting over again and I would have wasted a lot of paint :mmph: I am at the halfway point and still so much left to do! But the client is in no hurry at all so that takes the pressure off of me and I want it to look beautiful and perfect. (it will never be perfect I know lol) . So it will be another busy Saturday as we do our grocery shopping and get some errands done. Hopefully we will get to work on the front yard this afternoon in the sunshine! Fresh snow on the mountains surrounding us so it must have gotten chilly last night!

Chris - I do have someone that I know that has a birthday today! It is my Gary's cousin Robert who was born on leap year 1960 he will be either 60 or 15 today LOL. I did see the sun for a few minutes yesterday afternoon, but man the breeze was cool! I hope it will be warmer this afternoon! Still it will be good to be out in the fresh air. We won't be able to tackle the back yard for some time yet as it is still pretty soggy out there! Hope you can get to the cause of the scratching in your walls!! I am with Cait and would be totally freaked out by the thought of the old man in your walls :fear: Awww poor Floyd!! my heart breaks for him! I was always amazed that my Mr. Abu would find his way to the litter box after he turned blind, he had to go all the way downstairs to the laundry room to use it. I hope that Floyd is not suffering at all!

Kay - Yikes your cousin could be there before you know it!! Hope you can get everything cleaned out and re-arranged for her! Sounds like she is selling at the right time! I am sure that there are lots of snowbirds looking at her place! Have a great day with your DD's today!

Ok it is time to get into the shower and get some breakfast made for DH. I really wish I had time to play with the miniO's today, they look amazing as always! Perhaps later on today who knows?? :noidea: Have a great Saturday everyone!

Good morning and happy Sunday. I am in a really "off" mood. My SAD and anxiety are through the roof. I had awful dreams last night and the last one I had before I woke up was intense. I will try to keep this short since I don't have anything positive to share. Floyd is still with us and I am struggling with how I feel about that. I obviously don't want him to die, I know he has such a short amount of time, but "death-watch" sucks for all of us. I couldn't find him in any of his usual spots this morning, so before I panicked, I went to Cait's room. He slept with her all night. Sweet but unusual for him. He is losing his fur, his muscle, he hasn't eaten more than a few bites in days. But he doesn't seem to be suffering or in pain. Gary and I have differing opinions- I don't want this to be prolonged for him, while Gary feels that as long as he isn't in pain to let him run his course naturally. (We also differ on assisted suicide for terminal patients, go figure heh.)There is nothing that we can do for him today... and who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Good spot for the day, my parents are coming up with bagels this morning. All three of my kids are here so I will be happy to sit back and enjoy their banter. That always makes me happy. My dad and I are switching cars so he can get mine into the shop first thing in the morning. I have another appt with the ankle Dr so we will switch back in the afternoon as long as my car is done by then.

wishing everyone happy thoughts!
xoxo

Kay- that is quite an upheaval to happen quickly, even if it a positive one for you and your cousin. Good luck getting everything ready.

Trudy- whew, good that you didn't scrap the entire painting. I am sure that the tweaks you did are making it perfect! (yeah, I said it LOL)
Happy 15th b-day to your Gary's cousin :D

Felis- sending some hugs your way~~~~ I am looking forward to flipping to a new month too.

Good morning ladies. Yesterday flew by. I puttered around the house, ran errands and got out for a long hike with Taz. Never got much desk work so am going to get at it in a few minutes. Jen and I will spend the afternoon with B as D is on call and can’t come with us. If the rain stops we’ll go for a long hike.

We binge watched the new show Tommy and like it. Tonight we’ll binge the 911 spinoff.

I need to menu plan a bit for the week too. I want to reset my system so am going back to keto for a month or two.

Chris...i know how hard it is to know time is limited with a pet. I still think about Sandy and how those final months were but it seemed that when it was time to let her go I just seemed to know. Just cherish these days and give him lots of love. Enjoy the bagels and family time. Before you know it spring will be here and you be outdoors playing in the dirt :)

Felix...hope today is a better day for you. Enjoy the holiday celebration today. What is the holiday?

Trudy...enjoy the painting and take your time if there is no rush for it.

I going to grab another coffee and get dressed. I need to get to work now until Jen comes to pick me up. Have a great day everyone.

Chris, I'm so sad to read your suffering! In these cases there is no right answer! You know I'm doing both depends on the concrete case. It's never easy and always seems wrong. It's a hard topic, because euthanasia shouldn't be ours decision, and when we are put in this rare situation it requires enormous strength. Yes we can based our decision on moral or on religions. So if you need to hear our preaching, just let me know, I'm ratiocinate long and deep on that theme. But this is painful subject, where is better to not gives unwanted opinion. Just remember you always have shoulder to cry on, in my face! Oh, and please, please, don't feels like there is 'something more that you can do for him', you're not the Mother Nature, don't take God's heavy on your shoulder, once when medicine is fail, you just have to accept your powerlessness! As side bystander I can guarantee you, that you did all necessary!

Hmm, now :focus: . I feels strange to talk for funny things when I'm got sad once after your posts, but Rae was nice to ask about the holiday, which gives me some excuse to switch the mood.
So yes, March 1st is our traditional holiday, and personally my favorite tradition with these small red and white amulets given! I makes page about it every year, so you can see it at my gallery, if you are interested from this tradition.
Also this year it's coincided with another, this time religious holiday: Saturday for forgiveness, or something like this I can't find the proper translation. It's time to meet with the members of your family and youngest ask for forgiveness for everything wrong they are say or do during the years.
And I want honestly to ask all of you for forgiveness if sometimes any of my words were rude or disrespectful! I love and respect all of you, and really appreciate your friendship! And this is probably been misunderstood that happens, because of my poor english and comes from the cultural differences, as here on kindness is often looked as hypocrisy, we don't have habit to be delicate and to sugar our words.
It's mostly as holiday dinner. But at some families where have young men in the evening, a big fire is put on and monitored as burned, then have to be jump over by the men. In different regions there are other rituals related to the purifying power of the fire. And lots of other tradition that unfortunately aren't followed anymore. Before the TV every holidays had rituals, but nowadays people are become just too lazy, and left mostly the diners elements.

Rae, thank you for your interest, about our tradition and holidays! I'm flattered!
Hope that it wasn't rainy and you was able to make long hike! I'm so happy to see Jen calm and more confidence now when you have clear future plans! Hope B was well too! Uhh, yeah with the Summer on the horizon I guess most of us needs some diet improvement. Beach body here we come!
