Uh-oh. I am not having a good start to my day. I just dropped my earbuds into my coffee cup. Whoops! Do I finish my coffee anyway? (yes) and will my earbuds give me an extra caffeine jolt next time I use them? (very doubtful, but wouldn't it be nice?)

I was able to sleep this morning until 5.30 but didn't get out of bed until after 6 so I guess my day didn't start too badly.

However, I am thinking that today might just have to be a pajama day.
It took me a lot longer than I had planned to clean the carpets yesterday. They were filthy. But they will be good for a little while and I can do them one more time before the humidity of the summer hits. I was happy to relax with a glass of wine and a heat pack on my shoulder after dinner last night. I have a couple of loads of laundry to fold but aside from that, my day feels pretty quiet. If it turns out that the ankle surgery is going to be more complicated than I am hoping, I will have lots to do to prepare for that. I will know more after my appt on Monday.

W wants to go out-- BRB
I am already back, Gary took her out for me so I was able to proofread this, fix some typos and now I can save it again.

Have a great day and weekend!!!

Kay- I am happy to hear that the snow forecast cooperated so you were able to get out to lunch.

Trudy- What happened with the snow by you? I hope that it was just raining so you didn't have to go and get your Gary from work. I know exactly what you mean about not liking a scrap page. I haven't like many of mine at all recently. Bet that redo of Mason and Hunter in the tub came out cute.

Rae- you have been getting so much snow lately too. Taz will be thrilled. Ray needs her nails cut and I have been meaning to ask Gary to do that for her. TY for the reminder.
You have been sharing so many LOs of Taz in the snow-- I love them!! he is just the cutest, happiest dog in the snow. But more importantly, I am glad to hear that scrapping has been helping your mood/stress.
That is awesome to hear that B likes rats and the stories of them. I will make sure that I share more. I have a LO that I am working on with Liv and Tat right now. Unfortunately, neither of us too any pics of the girls with the asparagus and I don't know if I can get a recreation of it again. I will have to try today.

Jean- I thought of you yesterday morning when I was out with my dogs. I am starting to hear some new bird songs, must mean that spring is getting closer (right???? )
yay!!!!! Maybe it is corny of me, but it makes me so happy that you got to go to the H&S. That had to make you feel so much better even if it was just for a while.
Sunshine always makes me feel better.

Karen- the things we do for our fur-babies! Joey is lucky to have you as a mom but I know he is worth it. Part of the reason that I was awake at 5.30 today was that W kicked me in the head as she stretched out on *my* pillow hahaha!!
Hope that the snow melted for you and didn't turn to ice at all.
Were you able to recreate your filter use? I would love to see what you did.

Kay- your lunch must have been lots of fun! Great to get leftovers as well. Be safe if you need to go out in the snow and fingers and toes are crossed that you didn't lose power.

xoxoxo

Glad I stayed home last evening. The snow started an hour before the gathering was to start. By then I was already in my PJs and snuggled under a blanket with my book... nice and cozy. A couple of days I thought I had my foot in my slide-on shoes but it was only on halfway. When I took a step, it caused my foot to twist - right above the arch. Now that foot is letting me know it is aching. I really felt it last night when I took off my tennis shoes and it is aching big time today. Not sure I want to try to put a shoe on - so may just stay in slippers all day. We got about 2" of snow overnight... just enough to make the roads icy!

Chris, you have been a busy bee with your cleaning. Understand that you want to get everything done before you have the foot surgery. Hope you can get some photos of the rats with asparagus pieces again... I was LOL over their antics.

Stacey, really like the photos of Sunshine. Thanks for sharing them.

Wow, Karen... you are really helpful for those who live in the complex... I can't imagine shoveling all those walkways. Hope you don't over-do. Think we are all ready for spring to arrive.

Morning O-zies!! Sorry I never made it back here yesterday to catch up with all of you :sorry: I know that you understand though! I love my O family!! I ended up having a very long facetime with Heather and Hunter. He is such a little cutie and we had fun doing itsy bitsy spider and ring around the rosie. I read a few stories to him and he was such a happy little guy! My Grandma Heart misses them all so much!! The snow did not amount to anything at all and it quit after about an hour. It never stuck to the ground and I think that the Mainland probably got a lot more than we did here. I did get to the pool and got my laps in. It was pretty quiet in the lap pool but the other side where they have the Water Therapy etc. was extremely busy! Then came home and bottled my bone broth that had been cooking for the past couple of days. Made some gluten free wraps/tortillas and decided to have tacos for supper. :hungry: DH has regular hard taco shells and I use the soft wraps for myself. Tried very hard to get my page done that I have been working on, but it seems I open up my photoshop and sit and stare at the page not knowing what to do?? :mmph: My mojo has left me!!

Here are a couple of photos of what I did the other day...

Hope you can see this one ok its pretty far away.

Wonder if this would be better with a lighter background colour??

Chris - It must feel good to get the cleaning done! I hope you manage to get things all ready for when you have your surgery. You know that your family will help you out with things right?? You don't have to do it all yourself! Enjoy your PJ day today! Wish I could have a PJ day too, but we will be doing our usual running around and getting groceries today. :mmph: DH is helping me with the last bannister and spindles this weekend so we will be busy getting that done too! Hooray!!!! It will finally be finished! :bliss: Hope your earbuds still work after dropping them in your coffee this morning LOL. Had to laugh at how you got woken up this morning not the best way to start the day with a kick in the head!! :pound:

Kay - Glad that you were all warm and snuggly when the weather turned ugly on you! Ouch on your foot! Sure hope it feels better after staying in your slippers today! It will be a good day for you to do some scrapping!

Ok DH wants poached eggs this morning, so I better get busy with getting breakfast and putting on a fresh pot of coffee. Have a wonderful day everyone!

A gray day here but that's OK as it is in the 40s. Yesterday was pretty much a blur with nothing done. Think I feel better today and we're going to go do a few things right now, so maybe back later.

DH needed to go to the library which is halfway to a local nature center, so I got him to take me there in hopes the marsh would have Red-winged Blackbirds in. It didn't, but we saw some birds and made me happy. Then back by way of the library and he did a little grocery shopping. Now I'm looking forward to the radio broadcast of the Indians' first spring training game. Too bad for them it's barely warmer in Arizona than here.

Chris, I can't imagine sleeping with anything/one who'd kick me in the head! But yes, those bird sounds in the morning are telling you spring is coming. Cardinals and House Finches around here always start singing in Feb. Actually they respond to longer daylight not weather I believe. As to your scrap pages, the latest of the rats is a joy. I think you could tell the asparagus story with regular photos of them, or maybe popcorning? Trying not to think about the ankle...

Kay, glad you were warm and cozy last night, but Ouch, about the foot. Sure hope the slipper therapy helped.

Trudy, guess you're tied up with the stairs and errands. Those pictures of the bath kids are super and how fun. They must get a kick out of them when they visit. Love the jellyfish, but can see that the background could make you wonder. Not sure that any change is needed but sort of wish it were digital so you could easily try other things. Guess I'm spoiled with the digital ease and haven't done any of my own drawings in quite a while. Being in the hospital leading up to Valentine's Day, I didn't even get one done for DH's card.

Hope everyone's having a safe, warm weekend.

Well I got my experimenting done enough so that I might even remember how I did it. ha ha.. I did take note but that doesn't always mean much. I have posted a painterly one and a sketch one. I really like the sketch one but I think that might be mostly emento's wonderful kit that makes it look as good as it does.
I'm going to keep at it though.
The snow came down and Ian and I did have to shovel but it turned to rain so it cleared away pretty quick after the walks were cleared. I hate that slushy stuff as it is way more slippery that the actual snow.

Good afternoon, everyone. Spent a lazy morning hanging out with hubs and Taz. Finished my book (The Witch Elm) and enjoyed the beginning and the end (the middle could have been tightened up a lot) while D played around with the android box. I'm heading out for a walk with Taz soon. The snow just stopped so he'll have some fresh snow to play in although it is a wet snow so will start to melt quickly I'm sure. Then we're off to Costco and will grab lunch before heading home to watch Vice. Jen is coming to spend the night, we'll watch Vice and then all 4 episodes of Luther (so excited, it's been 3 yrs since the last season). Too bad it's a short season of 4 episodes but better than nothing. Tomorrow Jen will go home and we'll head up to spend the afternoon with B. I'll be downstairs watching the Oscars when we come home which doesn't interest D at all, so I can play on my PC, maybe scrap a bit and watch the Oscars on my laptop. Looking forward to it.

Chris - B doesn't remember but she expressed interest in getting rats a few yrs ago. She always gets excited when I show her your rat pages and stories. Sorry to hear the ankle surgery is going to be more than you expected but hopefully the recovery will pass quickly and your family will take great care of you. You might actually have to slow down for a bit LOL.

Kay - be careful with your foot.

Trudy - love the framed bathroom photos...so cute! I think you might be right about the painting, more contrast or lightness, a different tone for the background? I'm sure you'll figure it out, you are so talented.

Kythe - isn't it crazy about the snow we keep getting? After 4-5 shoveling sessions I gave up. Luckily its wet enough now to clear up enough in the driveway to get in and out.

Jean - how nice to get out and see some of the birds. I'm hoping the weather is good for an upcoming bird photo walk next month. Our group is going to a new area I've not been to before. Can't wait. I love to see and photograph the birds.

I'd better get going now. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Goooood morning girls,
I had a busy weekend. Was on party with my sister. Very embarrassing because I almost fell asleep. I was an awful company. I really wanted to be festive and funny, but instead of that I'm tired all the time. :( Did I'm just a boring person or I'm getting older?

Yesterday we was to see for first time my cousin's baby girl. She is precious little human. But so unprepared to survive. Humans babies are just helpless and that makes you feels apathetic. It have something so lovely in newborn kitty, even weak and very fragile, you can see one small predator who fight to survive. However!
So we went and here have a ritual when you visit new born for a first time . It's a tradition coming from the Three Wise Men. You have to bring something sweet, gift for the baby and symbolic amount of money. We was ordered baby gift from UK and it looks like they liked it. My aunt was murmur from weeks that her DIL is from high social class, and give to my mom hint what is one approximative money amount that they received from the girls family, so we to compare with that. We give it, but from the whole family, and now mom think that she had in mind from each of us, not as a total! But I just refuse to gift someone so expensive just because they are decided to breeding. I don't want to ashamed someone or make my aunt suffer, but this competition between the two families comes no sense for me. I mean we see my cousin only once or less at year, we're not even so close. And before to go I check the tradition and it is said: '''symbolic amount''. So now I'm feeling guilty and angry at the same time. Can't wait to see aunt in private to see how she feels from the whole situation. We really like my cousin's wife and her family, they let us with impression for warm, hearty people, so I hope that the whole situation is result of my mom and aunt inferiority complex! Or if it really exist some stupid comparing between the families, the worse for them, because we don't wanna play.

ups, sorry it looks like I'm chuntered on too long for that!

Chris, hope the earbuds will works anyway! I'm from the people which mood could be lifted up from one clean carpet too! Unfortunately these days I'm also person who dreamed to exchange all carpets with tiles ;) . You really should clean them in team, sort of family 'fun'! Fingers crossed that Monday's appt will show that your imagination is make the things to looks worse than they really are!

Kay, sorry for your foot! Hope it's better now! Actually if you added one cat you will describe one of my dreamed winters Saturday night.

Trudy, your new arranging is so cute! I love the jellyfish painting too! how cute is your time with Hunter, even virtual! I know what you mean about the page, it's happen to me when I have idea but it's not turn how I see it in my mind. Maybe try another page and then bring back to this one.

Jean, happy to hear you feels better! some birds started to come back here too, and always makes me think of you! It's always good time for romantic card, will be even more special to make it without reason, you don't need from Valentine's Day for that!!!

Kythe, your pages are just awesome. Especially the sketch one! And yes, I'm also always disappointed when rain come and do all the prety winter pic in muddy, blue place.

Rae, have fun with Jen! Hope the rating of the new season to be high enough so channel to pay for full next season! I hate when they shorten good shows.

Nancy !

I will watch the Oscars tonight, they are at night time here, so PJs party come on!!!
:smow: Oh and we have snow finally!!! :cofbath:

Ick. I am having another tired morning. I feel like I slept fine although Gary was snoring a lot. Maybe I am tired because it is dark and rainy. I know that it doesn't help that I still have the blanket tacked down around my window from when the temps were at 0* and the wind was blowing in. I think I am going to take that down today. Ugh-- as I am looking up at it, I am seeing some cobwebs on the ceiling too. Guess as long as I am climbing on my desk to get the blanket down, I will dust there as well.

Yesterday was a long one- felt like the day dragged and dragged. I do much better being a bit busy. I am all caught up on my laundry and I finished a page using the Mini-Os. I was able to take some pictures of the rats eating their asparagus but they were well behaved-- no stealing or throwing the food. I will probably use those pics and maybe do some journaling for the story but it won't be the same. ha!!
My ILs came up to visit for an hour or so which was nice.
Today I am going to get ready for the upcoming week and food shopping so nothing exciting at all.

have a fun day!! xoxo

Kay- good call to stay home and read instead of being out in the snow. Is your foot feeling any better today?

Trudy- I love hearing about your Facetime convos with Hunter. What a cutie pie!! I cannot imagine how much you must miss him and Mason.
Whew! What a relief to have the snow end so quickly.
I hope that your mojo comes back soon. I am aggravated with myself because all of my Los look the same lately. So even when I make a page that I like, it looks practically the same as every other one I do. Your bath pages are adorable!
I think that the jellyfish looks perfect the way it is but I could also see it looking fab against a lighter background for some more contrast.
Are you done with the banister? Or will today be the day? Either way-- woohoo, bet it looks so clean and fresh.

Jean- we have rain and 36* here- you know that I will take that over snow, same as you :)
I hope that you didn't push yourself being out and about yesterday. But I get that mentally you need to see something other than the same 4 walls even if it does tire you out. That is too bad that you didn;'t get to see the birds that you were looking for, but at least you got to see some at the marsh. Is it really as cold in AZ as it is by you? This weather is bonkers.
Thanks for liking my LO of Titania and Olivia- they are so cute all squished on top of each other all of the time. Isn't popcorning a great descriptor? I hadn't heard it before- I don't think Muffin and Clover ever really did that. Or I just don't remember. :noidea:
I thought the same about Trudy's photo- I wish it were digital too so you could mess around with it. Photoshop has spoiled me forever.

Karen- I ran into the same problem with the LO I did yesterday. I couldn't remember the exact order of the Filters I used and wanted to recreate it but couldn't. I needed to take notes and I didn't.
Both of your LOs are so creative!
Bet the slush makes it hard for Joey too.

Rae- Your morning yesterday sounds so relaxing- reading, D, and Taz. Hope you get to do the same today. How was the movie? have a great visit with B and have fun watching the Oscars tonight.
I don't know yet what the ankle surgery will be like- my appt is tomorrow. But the Dr's website said that it is common to have a splint or cast and possibly needed to use crutches for a few days. Would you believe that I have never had to use crutches and I don't know if I even can? I am so uncoordinated! I will probably fall right over if I need to use them.

Felis- Nope, you are not a boring person. I would fall asleep at a late party if I were ever at one and I am most definitely *not* a boring person. haha! (Oh yes I am. LOL)
You have been really busy working which will make you tired.
That is a fascinating custom to bring gifts to the baby. Too bad if they expected more money than you gave. Maybe it all is just a misunderstanding and that everyone is happy.
Have fun in the snow!!!

Guess my body was tired... I slept in until 8AM!!! Took me 5 minutes to force myself to get up. Guess it is going to be a slow day so will stay in PJs and just veg. I managed to get 5 of the 6 caps sewn up for DD#2. But.. that set my back into spasms by the time I got those done. Not sure I have the right color of thread for the 6th cap and don't feel like hunting for it right now. Just as well as I needed to quit when I did. The foot is feeling better but still is twinging when I stand or walk very much so will give it at least another day with the slippers and resting.

Ah, coffee is finally ready...:cof3: Maybe that will get my brain working better.

Have to copy a bunch of papers as I have the appointment with the Tax gal on Tuesday. Need to pick up some more printer inks. Hope I can get all the papers copied before it gets too low. Meant to pick them up earlier but forgot when I was down that way.

Karen, love the effects with the filters... hope you can remember how you did them. Think a lot of it depends on the photo you use, too. I am starting to play around with the blend modes, too.

Trudy, I love those bath photos... how fun to have them hanging in the bathroom! I love the jellyfish painting..I like the background color as it ocean water. Is that done with acrylics??? But I am with others in that I am spoiled with digital so I can try out different backgrounds to see which looks the best. Not so easy to do with painting. LOL

Jean, so glad you were able to get out with hubby. Just hope you don't over-do. Sorry you didn't get to see any of the birds while at the marsh.

Just took a look at the temps... 24*F right now. There are patches of ice where the snow melted so am glad I am staying in today.

Morning everyone and Happy Sunday!! It is :washing: day and clean the bathrooms day. Then the final coat of paint on the spindles :bliss: Woke up this morning to a skiff of snow, but nothing really stuck to the roads. DH is busy keeping an eye on the Hockey trades and what will be happening with his Bruins. He has already come upstairs for his second cup of coffee and back to his computer, so there must be something going on LOL. Is Nancy on a trip right now? Seems like it has been a long while since we have heard from her. I must have missed something along the way? Hope she is ok!

Chris - Your page with the rats is so cute!! Yes I feel the same about many of my pages, they just look the same and I get stuck in a rut. I will continue to work on the one that I started and hopefully it will turn out ok. Nice that you had a visit with the In-Laws! Ours never just pop in and we haven't even had a phone call from them for over 2 weeks. Guess I will be the one to phone to see if they are ok. I don't understand that family they never talk to one another, yet they are always going on about how important family is?? :noidea: Ugh on the cobwebs! I am always looking up when I vacuum to see where those darn cobwebs are at, it surprises me how many of them there are LOL. Hope you feel not so tired by the afternoon!

Felis - How nice to see the new baby in the family! Too bad that they expected more than you all were willing to give! They should be very happy that you gave them something at all!! Like Chris said, hopefully it is just a misunderstanding! Hope you are having fun with your snow that finally arrived! Thanks for liking my painting and photos! Enjoy your PJ party and the Oscars tonight!!

Jean - Happy to hear you got out for a bit with your DH! Hope you are feeling a bit better today! Too bad about not seeing the Red Winged Blackbirds, they are so beautiful! Hoping to be done with all the painting and staining of the stairs today! Isn't it crazy that the weather is so cold in AZ? What is happening with the weather this year? It feels like this is the February that will never end, last year we were cutting the grass and the cherry blossoms were out. :loco:

Karen - The filters on both pages are stunning! Really love them both! Good to take notes as I know I would never remember in which order I did things!!

Rae - What did you think of the movie?? DH and I tried to watch it and really like the acting, but the movie itself was kind of a disappointment for us! We just couldn't get into it and decided to just turn it off. Hope you didn't spend a fortune at Costco, like we always do LOL. Hope you get to enjoy another nice relaxing day today after your visit with B! Enjoy watching the Oscars tonight! We will probably just catch bits and pieces of it.

Kay - Wow nice to sleep in so late! Thanks for the compliment on my painting, yes it is done with acrylics a combination of flow painting, blowing with a straw and then a bit of using brush strokes too. Wouldn't it be great if we could change our paintings as easily as we can using photoshop! Hope your foot continues to feel better and enjoy your PJ day today!

Ok I need to make more coffee, DH took the last cup :mmph: then some breakfast and :washing: Hope that everyone has a great Sunday!

Feeling blah today and not liking all the big wind, but in a few minutes I get to listen to another spring training baseball game on the radio. Last night we watched the Cavs basketball game and then the last half of a hockey game. The latter really made me miss Nancy! Anyone know how she's doing?

Are you watching the Oscars tonight?
