Goodbye to that difficult month. Here is to a much happier and more positive month ahead.

I am so happy that I can see again. The new Rx is great. I miss seeing the distance so well. I had to lose some of that in order to get the reading clearer. I think the only time it is going to really make a difference is when I am driving somewhere new. Reading the street signs was a bit difficult but since I rarely drive anywhere unfamiliar and without GPS, it should be fine.
Nothing else happened here, I cleaned out one side of the cabinets under the iland. My kitchen "island" is the one that was made by the original owners of this house from pieces and parts of junk. The top was from the old A&P checkout counter. Under the island is open aside from the pieces of wood that is holding it up. I put in some rolling carts to hold plastic bags/dishtowels etc. But because it is so disorganized, it is very easy to shove stuff in there until you cannot find anything again. I pulled everything out, refolded all of the towels, put a bunch of the plastic bags aside to recycle. Gary and I would *love* to out real cabinets in but along with a lot of other home upgrades, it just isn't in the budget. (As if we have a budget! :pound:)

I read something this morning that made me a bit teary. Finally, the CDC had admitted that Lyme can be spread through the placenta. The kids' LLMD, as well as mine and Gary's, strongly suspected they were born with Lyme, that I had passed it to them congenitally. That was always an emotional issue for me. It was made worse when so many Drs would tell me that it wasn't possible. If I had a nickel for ever Dr that told me that along with the ones that said there was no such thing as Chronic Lyme... well as I joke, I would have been able to pay for one visit to an LLMD! hahaha (well, not *really* hahaha....;) )
The CDC has updated its info by saying it is possible but rare. That might sound like it isn't a big deal but it is huge. And it made me happy and sad and guilty and relieved all at the same time when I saw that today. It is being validated after so many years of fighting.
Kind of crazy.

Caitlyn and I are off to the FP this morning and then I should clean out my art supply closet this afternoon. Because it was so hard to maneuver in the boot, I ended up shoving lots of stuff in there too. (see a pattern?)

wishing everyone a happy and relaxing day!

Rae- OMG- I loooved the photo of the squirrel hiding in the bushes you posted on FB. I hate FB but at the same time, it makes me happy to see pics and LOs like that. :)
I re-scrap photos, there are some that I really love and it is one of the things that I like digiscrapping over paper, being able to use/re-use photos.
How awesome that you and B had such a great hike with Taz and how fun to watch him zooming around.
I made noodles with butter and cheese last night, I couldn't deal with anything more than that. But now I have to think about dinner all over again tonight. Bah humbug!!!

Trudy- what a bummer for the teachers having to strike. I hope that the teachers are able to get to an agreement quickly. Are teacher's unions strong in Canada?
When I was student teaching, the teacher had been w/o a contract for over a year. They weren't striking yet but had job actions, which meant they couldn't stay after school, no special events, bulletin bds, etc. All of the things that I needed to do for my assignment! It made things a bit uncomfortable and made me not want to work in public schools. Teachers def. do not get the salary and recognition that they deserve.
Oh no... not good that the plants and flowers are all mixed up from the weather. When they are out of synch the bugs are out of sync and then the birds are out of sync and so on... :( I do not understand why it seems like no one is taking this seriously.
Good luck shopping today and I hope you find a cute cap- post a pic when you do.

Nancy- It was really chilly and we got a bit of wet snow last night. It is all gone this morning. WTG on the bike! Ugh about the Devils losing but at least they were scoring. How awesome to get a pedicure!! That must have felt so nice.

Kay- Sorry that your day was so busy. I hope today is less so and Feb gets off to a happier start.

Hi girls! February, yay!!!! :second:
New start, clear beginning!
Now I'm just restarting this year and expecting some exciting things to happen very soon!
I wasn't been here long time, so next few days will catch up everything missed! We have spring like weather (very unusual for February) and I'm exhausted after whole day out. But was nice and funny!
Hugs and kisses my dears!

Chris, I totally understand the relief finally to have confirmation that you are right!
About the kitchen island, I think we all have secret 'cave' where allows things to stay at disorder, we can keep a secret! I'm plan to buy few more boxes for place like that, because I liked what Kay made under her sink. But I already have bad experience with buying wrong size box that didn't match the cabinet.

Morning, gals... So glad that Feb is finally here! Jan was so stressful.
Got a call from DD#2 yesterday afternoon. So good to talk with her and catch up on what was going on with them.

Chris... I saw the FB post about Lyme being possible to pass it when pregnant. I know that made you feel vindicated! Sounds like you are getting a start on spring cleaning. LOL.... Good luck on getting things straightened out. I need to spend some time in my craft room getting things straightened up.

Rae, I also saw that photo of the squirrel... so wonderful.

Trudy, I can understand why some of plants are mixed up as to what season it is. We have been icy winds blowing the past couple of days. Tuesday was calm and 50+ degrees and now the wind chill has it below freezing even tho the temp is in the low 40's. Brrrr....

Hey Felis... nice to see you posting.

Karen/Kythe, hope the tests come out okay. Been sending healing thoughts your way.

Sorry... DD#1 called so I didn't get this post finished. Better post it before I get side-tracked again. Hope you all have a good weekend.

good day - well today my Devils are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 2000 Cup win over the Dallas Stars. Season ticket holders get to go and have a photo with a team member which will be preselected. LOL. Of course I will get the back up goalie as I have no luck with sort of stuff. But will be fun none the less. I again just hope my team competes. Got out early and had a good walk with Luther. There were a lot of dogs out and Luther while I think he wants to play just barks and thus scares the other dogs. But it was a good day for bird watching. As we started I noticed a shape that did not match a log and sure enough it was a great blue heron. That was cool. Of course there were mallards and Canada geese. But best of all was a king fisher. They are such a cool bird and they have such distictive call. Got more done on my square but it is slow as I don't like it doing the pattern.

Chris I have many such places where things are just stored. I hope to get rid of more stuff soon. I saw the article on Lyme's. Too bad it took so long to confirm what you always knew. I don't think you can ever blame yourself and you can stand proud by how much you fought for the kids with their health struggles. Hope good finds at the FP.

Felis so good to see you. We will be having spring weather next week when our temps hit the 50s. Hope you get the right size container. My DH does that along - he thinks he can just eye ball the size so we have a huge collection of sizes.

Kay I agree the first of the month is always challenging in that I have to remember to flip the calendar LOL. And of course bills. Hope you got it all done! Here in NJ the storm that was to hit today has swung far out to sea so while it is damp and chilly no rain or snow. Have fun reading!

Rae hope to see more photos on FB.

Trudy I figure you are out with the MG on errands so just waving.

Jean hope you are enjoying your meetings.

Have a great day all.

It is Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow so that means an early spring. That makes me happy even though it worries me about the climate and all that. I woke up to another dusting of snow this morning, more than yesterday but now that the sun is up, it will be gone in no time. It is supposed to be over 50 Monday and Tuesday and Friday we might break 60*

FP was good, we were in and out pretty quickly. I was able to get a ginormous container of oatmeal to make dog treats and two bunches of overripe bananas for banana bread. Later this week I am going to do lots of baking!
I never got around to cleaning out my closet. Caitlyn started a new puzzle so I had to help with that. We played with the rats a lot and the babies hung out in my hood while we were doing the puzzle for a while. I could hear them chuckling from inside there.

Speaking of Caitlyn, I have GREAT news!!!!!! She got accepted into the master's program!! It wasn't a surprise that she got in, but it was a bit of a surprise she heard so soon. She just finished the app process a couple of weeks ago. I am so happy for her. She has worked so darn hard.

No plans today aside from getting ready for the week. Maybe I will clean out the closet today. :noidea:

Have a fantastic day!!

Felis-- Happy February and new beginnings for you!! I am excited for you. Haha, yes we all have "caves" - I just have lots and lots of them it seems :)

Kay- I have all of my fingers and toes crossed that Feb is a much more peaceful and joyful month for you.

Nancy- who did you get the photo with, hope it was someone higher up the food chain that the back up goalie LOL
Can you believe the temps we are going to have this week? Good days to get outside for sure.

Thank you for the support re: my Lyme fights. They were never-ending. Hard enough to do that for one kid, let alone two, let alone while I was sick with a sick/disabled husband. I think I either forget or downplay how darn *hard* that was. I have said it before, but I don't think I could have gotten through without everyone here at the O-- you all were my lifeline. Really. ::grouphug

good late morning - well yesterday was momentous day in that I was able to walk 9700 steps. I am a little sore today. The Devils put on a lovely pregame celebration. Petr Sykora was knocked out of the game 6 20 years ago and it was so bad he ended up in the hospital. He could not celebrate with the team when they won. He never got to skate the Stanley Cup around the ice. Well tonight after all the introductions of the team they had him come out last and skate the Cup around the ice. It was spectacular. We got to the door and got our photo taken with Ken Daneyko. And then we walked around the arena and took photos of the rest of the players. At one point one of the security guys tells me I cant take photos but too late already did. I mean lets face it I am in a public spot find it hard to believe they can really stop you from taking a photo. Not all of the players came out which is too bad. My Devils held tough against an aggressive and bigger team and my guys took it to OT and lost 3-2. Now today yes the ground hog says we get an early spring so that is good. But Chris you are correct we should be worried about the warming though. Not much else going on. Will be watching hockey and then the Super Bowl.

Chris that is such awesome news about Cait. Please tell her congrats and how awesome. More counselors are needed! Have fun with the puzzle and the rats. How fun for the babies to be in the hoodie and you hear them happy! We got no snow but did get some rain.

Have a great day all!

Hello ladies,
I can't describe you more lovely day. We had to go for grocery, but from the dad's work called that he have to go there, so we can't travel and we had a free day. I wake up really late, it was after 1pm and I finally feels like I'm sleep enough (around 12 hours.) So I had lovely weekend with my cats. 8) This spring weather will stay for a few days and we want to enjoy it fully. Who is allowed to live outdoors was out and indoor cats was lie on the window and collecting sun. It have so much work to do at the garden, so I had to remind myself that it's have few more months winter. I hope soon we finally to have some rain as this dry is awful. :nono:

Nancy, what a shame! How to not be allowed to take a photos?! As it's said if something isn't on Instagram it's not happening! These celebrities are high paid because of the fans love so on public place everybody should be able to take a pics with/on them!

Chris, I start wondering is that mean Leah's children will be infected because of the Scott's condition?!
This weather worried me much too! We have about 5 days snow for the whole winter and it was under 2 inc. So unusual as my grandma is had 5 months of snow 10-20 inches at her childhood here on the same place.
Congrats for Caitlyn's master program! Bravo!

Kay, so nice way to spend the weekend talking with your family!

I can't believe it but I slept in until after 9AM!!! Not sure why as I went to sleep around 8:30 PM. Couldn't wait to get some fresh coffee made - so nuked a cup to get the brain going. Have a fresh pot brewing now.

Yes, we are suppose to have a few nice spring-like days - up into the 50's - then winter temps are suppose to hit for several days. Guess I had better get my errands ran while it is nice outside.

Chris, give Caitlyn my congrats on being accepted into the Master's program!!! So exciting for her and the family.

Nancy, so glad to hear your knee is holding up so well to all the activity! Glad you got the photo anyway. So sorry to hear about the injury to the player.

ETA: I made a big pot of Enchiladas Sauce yesterday. I had an avocado that was ripe so made guacamole to have with it. Now have 8 containers of sauce [enough for 16 servings] in the freezer and 1 in the fridge.
