Daily Ooos: December 7-8: Weekend Edition

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hap-pyyyyyyy weekend! I hope you all stayed snuggled under the blankets for some extra time in bed this morning. I don't have to be out of the house until 9.40 so I stayed buried for a little longer than usual. I went to bed, with the lights out, at 8.30 last night and I could have slept for hours and hours more if I didn;t have a mess of "life" to deal with.

First off- I got the best news from my BFF yesterday!!! The second biopsy was benign!!!! She will have a small procedure to remove it on Monday and then the actual lumpectomy on Wed. I am soooo grateful for your good thoughts and prayers.

The other good news is that the field trip went well. Lauren and I felt that the kids were very engaged and liked the mix of indoor and outdoor activities. The wind wasn't as wild in the afternoon as it was in the morning so we got them into the woods to do shelter building. The bad part was how exhausted I was when I got home. That part was rough and I literally did nothing but take a shower and drink tea until it was time to have dinner. That was leftovers, thank goodness. I did not have it in me to cook.

I am off to the FP this morning and I really would rather not. But I am 99% sure I will not be able to make it on the 21st. I'll be outta my mind in two weeks o_O I'm already feeling that way, in two weeks I'll be off the cliff.

Wishing all of you a very happy and productive weekend!

Debby, @BoatLady I hope that you are feeling better each day :hug3:

@BrightEyes Sorry that you had a bad night of restless sleep-- and to think you were dreaming about the Day Six challenge! Hahaha!
I finally had the time to track down your Day 4 LO and it was amazing :)
Good thoughts to DD#1- I'll be able to remember her surgery date, same as my BFF.
Thank you also for talking about getting to the library. I will try to stop at mine on my way home from the FP today or my card will expire and I won't be able to download anything new.

@taxed4ever yuckkkkkkkkk about the website crashing on you when you were working on the calendars, were you able to submit the files to the website? I swear, the computer demons *know* when I am trying to beat the clock uploading things to Shutterfly/Walgreens. The more time crunched I am, the higher the probability the site is gonna give me fits.
Good luck getting everything done today so you and your Gary can relax tomorrow.
You have all good weather thoughts coming your way when it gets closer to your trip.
Ohhh my goodness Debby!! We are going to have to wrap you in bubble wrap alongside of @vickyday!! So sorry you took such a bad fall!! I am sending you all the gentle healing hugs that I can muster up!! :hug4::hug2::hug1:.
That was exactly my first thought too!!!
:rotfl:

Its female DNA! We have to stress as part of the process. 100% normal. If youre to stressing is it even a holiday month?
:wehaveawinner: The ability to stress over anything/everything along with the skill to locate missing objects right in front of the male's face... all on the XY chromosome
I had no idea. No idea that it could be transferred that way. I'm so sorry. I'm glad youre on meds though as it sounds like last time was way worse and we dont want you doing that again.
yup, Lyme is complicated. And controversial- Most doctors in the past thought a couple of weeks of abx and you were good to go, any additional symptoms were "all in your head." Recently research in some major medical centers- like Johns Hopkins- has been showing what Lyme patients tell you all along- it is not all in our heads.
I told hubs (again) that I want him to plan, and execute a weekend away. That's what I want for Christmas. Also said it had to be of interest to me, winter camping is NOT an option.
oooh, that sounds lovely!! ITA with you-- NO to winter camping!
Today I will be doing laundry. In between loads I will work on Event challenges. I have not done my daily ATCs for over a week, either, so I need to catch up on those at some point. I also need to catch up on my monthly reviews.....last half of October and all of November and start on December. At some point I need to make a grocery list because we will be pot lucking at church on Sunday for lunch and on Wednesday for supper. Still no word on the car, so Mark will have to take me to the grocery store. Lovely!!!
How did you do getting all of that accomplished? Car updates?
I am sorry to hear about your Aunt, small blessing that she didn't suffer. :hug2:
The concert sounds lovely!

@bcgal00 Did you get some neat things at the Xmas market? And did you find a bag for your magnifier and supplies? Have a fab time at the class today! Can't wait to hear about it!

Well, it was a good trip... ended with 2 books, 8 DVDs and 4 music CDs from the library. Then did a stop at the Friends of Literacy used book/etc store. 2 more DVDs and wonder of wonders... bought a HB of Inheritance by Nora Roberts!!
That's awesome!!

Good morning ladies. I've got my jewelry tools ready to go (want to use some of my own stuff to make sure I know how to use it). Should be fun! I'm not visiting a friend after class, she is sick so I'll stay away. I'll get groceries and come home in the late afternoon.
Busy day...I'll check in later.

Good morning!

First off- I got the best news from my BFF yesterday!!! The second biopsy was benign!!!! She will have a small procedure to remove it on Monday and then the actual lumpectomy on Wed. I am soooo grateful for your good thoughts and prayers.
Chris this is the best news ever!!!!! God is so good!!!! I bet your BFF is on cloud nine with that news.

I hate doctors like that. Like we are really gonna invent things that aren't fun. I tend to fire them when/if they do that, but I have been fortunate enough that I've only had to fire one. But that also is because I haven't had to go to many before when it was a secret what our family had. Oh well thats a whole other rant.

@bcgal00 have fun today!! Jewelry making gets addicting and you'll have a blast.

Today begins the Saturday countdowns. Three more after today. Today will be the busiest at work. Hope the girls show up and I can supervise them through the busy. Its still warm and raining. The roads freeze over night and its been raining. Its been fun driving. Off to get coffee and look at todays challenge. Have a wonderful day.

Morning, all. Oh, I had a wonderful and restful sleep last night... from 9:30PM until 6:30AM!!! No tossing and turning and can't remember dreaming... :D Woke up feeling much better. Staying home yesterday afternoon after the library run was the right thing to do. My poor bod needed the rest. Decided to watch the special effects on the "Fantastic Beast - Where To Find Them" DVD last evening. WOW...it has about 2 hours on the making of the movie... in addition to interviews with JK Rowling and others to how the creatures were made. Now I want to get the other 2 "Fantastic Beast,,," DVDs and hope they also have a Special on how they were made, too.

Grabbed my :coffeedrinker: then uploaded my Day 7 - Challenge LO. Then started scrapping with a soon to be released kit. This was one of those days when the creative muse was humming big time and the LOs just flowed together! :busy1:

Good afternoon!
Today has been busy. Stayed in bed until 8:20, like Chris, didn't want to leave the warm covers!
Mark fixed my coffee while I took my shower. Left at 9:20 to pick up Ruth and head to the ladies' meeting at church. We had a good group show up. It was our first Ladies' meeting since my husband, the pastor, passed away in 2017. We had breakfast and began a Bible study today. Then we spent some time sharing who we were and a little bit about ourselves since we have new people attending the church. It was very inspiring. We were there about 3 hours. No one was in a hurry to leave. I helped clean up and prepare for tomorrow's meal then took Ruth home before coming on home.

Tomorrow Mark will be ordained as a deacon. The pastor will preach a special message for the requirements and duties of a deacon. After the services we will share a potluck meal.

When I get home tomorrow afternoon I will probably finish Mark's laundry for work next week.

Today I'm going to work on challenges as I didn't get to that yesterday because I ended up working on paperwork for the church books.

Mark and I are going to Ruby Tuesday for supper, so I don't have to worry about cooking. However, I do have to cook green beans and a dessert for tomorrow's lunch.

Have a great afternoon/evening!

The second biopsy was benign!!!!
Thank You, Lord, for answered prayers on your BFF's behalf!
I stayed buried for a little longer than usual.
Me, too!
The other good news is that the field trip went well.
So glad the HS session went well!
How did you do getting all of that accomplished? Car updates?
I am sorry to hear about your Aunt, small blessing that she didn't suffer. :hug2:
The concert sounds lovely!
Got most of the laundry done but worked on church paperwork instead of getting any scrapping done.
We picked the car up from the shop, but only for the weekend. He has a computer board or something ordered for the car the won't come in until next Tuesday so we got to bring the car home for the weekend, LOL!
Thank you for condolences for my Aunt.
Yes, the concert was so nice!
I've got my jewelry tools ready to go
Be sure to let us know how you enjoyed the class!
Woke up feeling much better.
YAY!
This was one of those days when the creative muse was humming big time and the LOs just flowed together!
Good for you! I love it when the scrapping comes together like that!

Good morning, my sweet O-Fam!

Did you all have a good day yesterday? I hope you did! I wouldn't say I had a "good" day but It was a solid neutral with some slippage in either direction. I'll take what I can get. It was such a relief to know my BFF is going to be ok. She texted me to see if Caitlyn and Sam would be interested in seeing Wicked with her and Julia over Christmas break, and they are. We will have a nice day all together, just the girls ♥

I got another page done for Cait's book and my goal is *fingers/toes/eyes crossed* is to get the last three done today. That is a lot of scrapping for me but maybe I can do it. If I do that, I'll fine-tune and upload them tomorrow. Then I can focus on *waves arms wildly about* -- everything else.
I baked one more batch of cookies and got them into the freezer, only snuck a few broken bits before they went in. I had to posion-test them, make sure they were safe to gift to people.

My body aches/joint pain was much lower yesterday but my brain is a mess. All of the neuro symptoms are flaring up and I hate how it makes me feel like I am crazy. Not being able to think straight or have words come out right is extremely frustrating. I'd rather have physical symptoms than the neuro ones (of course I say that now, talk to me when all of my joints hurt bwuahahah!).
Lucky me-- I get to test that theory in a couple of days. I took the osteoporosis Rx this morning and last time, I was hurting all over by Tuesday into Wed.

Today is going to be busy busy busy. My mom is coming up so Gary can take a look at her computer which is all messed up again. (Again! I don't know what she does to it!). I want to get those LOs done today plus I have to get the lesson prepped for this Tuesday. I brought home a water testing kit from work the other day and want to figure out how it works before I attempt it with the kids.
I already am thinking about the January HS Pod Field Trip. The kids are Jehovah's Witnesses and I know very little about their religion and how it interacts with the "natural" world. We had a few comments/questions on Friday that we weren't 100% sure how to answer. We want to make sure that we aren't stepping on toes while making sure we are scientifically accurate. We would rather leave info out that might contradict their beliefs than create conflict. It's definitely a new experience for us.

Whisky is looking at me like she needs to go out. BRB!!

For real!!!!! I had to fire one of my Scott's docs. He was in therapy and was referred to a psychiatrist because of his illness and how it manifested (Scott had a really bad time with Lyme and Bartonella which caused alll sorts of mood disorder-type manifestations). Anyway, long story short, the pdoc wanted to refer me to DYFS, claiming I had Munchuasen's by Proxy. He got fired, Scott's therapist got fired, and the one I was seeing in the same group-- all fired.
As for the second part of your rant-- I am so glad that the secret is out in the open and able to be dealt with. I don't know how you contained yourself, esp since it affected your kids. :soapbox: Rant any time you need to.

Morning, all. Oh, I had a wonderful and restful sleep last night... from 9:30PM until 6:30AM!!! No tossing and turning and can't remember dreaming... :D

Congrats to Mark!! That will be a very special moment for him ♥

Big hugs to everyone who reads this! :hug4:

Good Morning!!!!!
Its 32* which is okay but it means the road are frozen. And since its 32 so early means it will warm up and probably rain again. :sad2: I'm not a fan of these years when its so warm and yucky.

Lucky me-- I get to test that theory in a couple of days. I took the osteoporosis Rx this morning and last time, I was hurting all over by Tuesday into Wed.
Is your Osteoporosis meds a once a week med?? I hope your body knows what to do with it this time around and you dont feel quite so achey.
As for the second part of your rant-- I am so glad that the secret is out in the open and able to be dealt with. I don't know how you contained yourself, esp since it affected your kids.
Well, the best way is prayer and forgiveness. But my unhealthy way was massive anger, booze, and then I took on the medical world and fought to find answers. Even chat rooms that I thought are you kidding me. But I found world class surgeon and the rest is history. Through all that with lots of prayers I was able to move into healthy space and mostly forgive my mom. She did what she did and I cant change that. I am hurt by it as were my kids, but dwelling in the anger was just making me a mean nasty girl and I didn't like her. So I gave it to God and am still working on total forgiveness. I dont let her gloss over or make excuses or "pity party" though. I do tell her blunt and honest NO you dont get to be the victim. No you dont get to cry and pretend you didn't know. She will have to live with what and how she did things. I can't change that and that was life changing to realize. I can be like that or I can fight for change. Well, let me introduce you to Mama Bear who takes no prisoners. :heartpumppink:

Today should be fun. Have 2 1/2 hour to wander around town waiting on teens at youth group. Not enough time to come home and then back to town. Then I get to see grands and play backgammon with my daughter. Gonna be a fun day but not one where I get to put my feet up.

Coffee and the gallery are calling! Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. I've been busy this morning buying jewelry supplies online. Now I need to start designing! I had a blast at the class yesterday. I created a stretch bracelet, a wire bracelet with a toggle clasp and a pair of earrings. I ordered a sizing mandrel and a flocked tray. The mandrel will give me a more accurate sizing for the bracelets and the flocked tray I can bring into the living room to create at my little desk as we watch TV.

I'm taking Remi out in a few minutes for her usual morning walk and then home to tidy up, get the chili made which I'll keep warm in the crockpot, will get appies ready and then set up the game table for this afternoon/evening canasta with friends. I'll fit in a CT LO and then will start on a bracelet.

I get to enjoy a coffee and then get on with my day.

Morning, everyone.... some how the morning just slipped away. Yes, I was scrapping .... did Week1 Art Journaling Challenge.
Have to go back to what I did late yesterday afternoon... I started out looking for photo/s that I might want to use while thinking about themes that might be in kits in the next month. Like New Year, winter, New beginnings, etc. Have you ever done this?? See the thread I started about Collecting AI images. I saw the AI image of a little girl reading and immediately knew how to use it and what background paper and the title for the AJ challenge!!!! :Dgoofysmile1:coffeescreen: It was one of those "Eureka" moments. Love it when comes together so easily.

Have several things that must be done: :showering: and :laundry: and bake the pumpkin pie and defrost something for supper. Will try to get back in here for personals later.

I did a google search on what Jehovah's Witnesses believe about creation. Here's what it said:
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that God created the universe and all life, but they reject the label "creationist" because they do not interpret the Bible's creation story as a literal six-day event, instead believing that "days" could represent long periods of time, allowing for the earth to be billions of years old; they essentially adhere to an "old earth creationism" perspective while rejecting the theory of evolution entirely.

Key points about Jehovah's Witness beliefs regarding creation:
  • God as Creator:
They firmly believe that God created everything, including the first human beings, Adam and Eve.

  • Rejection of Young Earth Creationism:
They do not believe the earth was created in six literal 24-hour days.

  • Compatibility with Science:
They believe scientific findings about the age of the earth can be reconciled with the Bible.

  • Intelligent Design:
While not explicitly using the term, their view on creation aligns with the concept of intelligent design, suggesting God guided the process of life appearing on earth.

  • No Evolution:
Jehovah's Witnesses do not accept the theory of evolution, believing God created distinct "kinds" of plants and animals.

  • Hope that helps!

Send some of that scrapping muse my way, please!

Congrats to Mark!! That will be a very special moment for him ♥
Glad that you had the car for the weekend and I hope the computer part is an easy swap when it goes back in the shop.

Big hugs to everyone who reads this! :hug4:
We have to take the car back to the shop tomorrow afternoon, so I hope Tuesday is the final day the shop will own our car!

Good Afternoon,
We had a wonderful service today with lots of extra people coming to support the guys being ordained. The lunch afterwards was wonderful. By the time we got the kitchen cleaned up and took Dorothy home it was 2:30. Now we are sitting in front of the TV watching football.....or I should say, Mark is watching football. I never did get to do any scrapping yesterday, so I am going to this afternoon. So, without further ado.......hope you have a wonderful afternoon! We brought leftovers from the church home for supper, so I don't have to stop scrapping to cook! ;)
