Happy Weekend! I am up and at 'em early today. Lots to do. Lots.
I ran all day again. Technically, I wasn't moving when I had my hair appt but it is mentally draining to have to sit and do small-talk for two hours. Actually, it isn't that bad but it is hard on my brain and how it gets claustrophobic. By dinner-time, I was practically crawling out of my skin and the dogs were underfoot and I felt like I couldn't breathe.

My hair looks good, Cait said it looked much shorter which makes me a bit nervous since I had it blown out straight. Once the curls are back it is going to shrink up quite a bit. I popped into TJ MAXX to look for the blanket that I knew I should have gotten when I was at Marshall's the day before but they either didn't have it or it is already sold out. I am going to have to see if there are any left at Marshall's today. *fingers crossed*
I finished BFF's gift and I think it looks great. I tried to match it somewhat to the bottles I made for her last year. I will have to take a pic of it to share. Base coats on the other mason jars are done and I will work a bit on that today.

Off to the fabric store this morning and then the tree tomorrow. That should get me more in the happy part of the holiday season. I really have such a love/hate relationship with this time of year, don't I?

Wishing everyone a very happy and hopefully relaxing day!

Felis- Happy St Nicholas Day to you and your family. I have been the Grinch here so I understand your family haha!
Yes, the author is Polish so the book I have is a translation. That is the opposite of the books we suggest to you. The main character is old and crotchety, reminds me of myself LOL

Kay- I saw that you found me on FB too! Thanks!
Is there a chance that you re-injured your foot? If it isn't feeling better, you should get it checked out. It has been bothering you for over a month now?
I see my ankle surgeon on Monday and I have to find out why my ankle still is so stiff and sore. i feel your pain, figuratively and literally ;)
I hope that your SIL is able to get everything up and running on the computer so you can get back scrapping ASAP.

Nancy- Poor Luther! I hope that the cough isn't anything serious. The ears too but I know that isn't unusual for him. give him a belly rub! I do love crafting and being busy. I just wish I could focus on one thing at a time better. The sun is starting to melt some of the snow here, but it is still so cold.

Trudy- if you are going to be busy at least it is being busy with Heather and the boys. That must make you smile so much. That is fantastic about the calendar and coasters. I decided to not do the resin projects as gifts this year. It was something to "new" and I didn't feel like I could figure it out and make it look right. Show us yours when you can!
I loved baking cookies with my kids when they were Mason and Hunter's ages-- so fun and messy. Hope heather had a great time too.

jean- hope you are having fun at the meeting and pot luck today!

Rae- It has to be so hard to have a limited time to do things with B. In a way it is good that it forces everyone to be truly present. But to always have to be that way has to be a challenge.
I wish there were GF/low carb recipes for Christmas cookies too. I can send you some virtually-- that makes the calorie free as well

xoxoxo!!!!!

Morning all... woke up early again this AM. Tried to go back to sleep but didn't happen. So here I am at O-dark-thirty grabbing my 1st cup of coffee. Made a full pot as I have a feeling I will need it today.

Was up late (11 PM) finishing up some scrapping pages then running the back-up to the EXHD. Want it up-to-date... just in case. I thought I had lost part of my bookmarks but discovered that the order they had been in had been moved around. Whew... I got Day 7 LO uploaded to the gallery. I used Comfort and Joy collab for it. Can't get over how many fabulous things are in the collab!!!

I didn't tell you about the surprise I had at the DMV when I went to renew my Driver's License on Wednesday. I got there right after the rain stopped - took a number and before I could sit down - they called my number! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes!!! It usually takes an hour or more. So I am good for another year.

Managed to get the rest of the laundry done yesterday. I also put out the pine-cone tree and the Santa snow-globe on the dining room buffet.

Chris, I am beginning to think you are right - I may have re-injured my foot. It is aching in a different area than usual. I twisted it some while at Son Jim's house when I stepped on a rumpled rug. It seems to get slightly better in the mornings but is hurting more as the day goes on. The fronts that are coming through makes it ache even more. BTW, you popped up on my FB feed yesterday as a Person You May Know... for some reason, I thought we were FB friends already. LOL

Wow, you have been running. Glad you got your hair appt done even if it took a couple of hours. Hope you have success finding the blanket at one of the stores. I hate when I see something then it is gone when I go back to buy it. Glad you are moving along on the Christmas gifts projects.

Got to get dressed and call Urgent Care to get an appt to have the foot looked at. CYL

Yesterday was nuts but today hopefully I'll have fun. Already past my deadline to be off here as must leave soon. Taking a salad for potluck so at least I'll have appropriate food: red leaf lettuce with strawberries, pecans and blue cheese. I'm going to be bad though and have a piece of Ed's always wonderful cheesecake. Later, folks.

Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend!

Morning ladies!! Wow everyone is very busy again today! I was up super early, must be something in the air! You all are up very early this morning also! It is cold and damp a typical winter day here on the Wet Coast! Lots of running around to do this morning once the stores are open. Yes I am up even before the stores are open LOL. I might try to crawl back into bed soon. (we all know I won't fall back to sleep :mmph: ) Got another Calendar page completed, so just one more to go and then off to the printers it goes! Hooray what a relief it always is to get that job done! Hope to be more active here at the O soon! Also got the gift bags done for the grands and got my coasters all resined, they turned out awesome! I will post a pic soon.

Chris - My goodness you think that I am busy, you are super busy!! Yes it will be good to get all this behind us! I have a love hate relationship with this time of year also! Have fun at the fabric store and enjoy your decorating! Hopefully putting up the tree and decorating will put both of us in the Christmas Spirit!

Kay - Hope you are able to get into the dr. as quickly as you got your licence renewed! Take care of that poor foot!

Jean - You are a busy bee too! Enjoy your yummy salad and that cheesecake too!

Ok I am going to make another pot of coffee, hopefully it will rejuvenate me! Have a great Saturday ladies!

good afternoon - well Luther has bronchitis. Poor boy. He is now on antibiotics and a cough syrup. With all the tests - lets just say this was one expensive visit. The vet said he can go for walks, he just should not run too much. I never knew dogs got bronchitis. Glad he is on the road to recovery. I did my rehab reevaluation and I have made progress but the report will indicate I still need work going up and down stairs. Made it to the Devils/Blackhawks game. Lost in a SO so not sad at all. Yes another loss but they played with a lot more energy. Tonight they play in Nashville and are on a 4 game road trip. I managed to walk from the Rock to the parking lot so that made me feel like I am making progress. Now watching afternoon hockey. I love Saturdays when there is hockey all day.

Chris so glad you had your hair done! And yes I know what you mean about having to make conversation. But luckily I like the ladies where I go so fun catching up as they are so young and full of fun stories. Your crafts sound so cool. Have fun with errands but take it easy too!

Kay OMgosh so sorry that your foot is still bothering you. Good thing you made the appointment but to know than guess. That is amazing news at the DMV. We in NJ are still waiting for our DMV to figure out how to make our licenses secure so they can be used in domestic flying.

Trudy go girl only one page to go for your calendar! Enjoy the errands with your MG.

Jean your salad sounds so yummy! Have fun at the meeting.

Have a great day all!

Good morning ladies (almost noon, where did the morning go?). Read a few pages of my book (Every Little Piece of Me by Amy Jones), had a few cups of coffee and then got started on my day. Fed the birds and Taz, started pulling out Xmas bins and started a few bags of donation stuff to send off next wk. I'm doing well with my purging this year. I'll stop for lunch in a bit and then back to the Xmas stuff. I'm spacing it out over the day so I don't destroy my back. I have to do most of it myself b/c both Jen and D have injuries so can't really help. Talked to one of D's co-workers this morning about cameras and what might work for him and it made me realize that the mirrorless I bought used last yr doesn't really fit my needs so have decided in the new year to sell it all off and by a nikon full frame mirrorless when I have enough money saved. Having been a photographer, I'm used to having a really good camera so it doesn't make sense for me to "settle" and not really be happy with it. So, once again....I'll be selling off all my fuji stuff except for the little xt100F that I'll keep for pull-back shots and street photography. This will be the third time I make a big change in camera stuff so it better be my last LOL.

Chris - take a pic of you with your new haircut. I bet the shorter style looks awesome. As for low carb/GF cookies...there are enough good recipes out there that I won't suffer through the Xmas season :)

Kay - me too. I had to renew my license in Oct and only had to wait about 10 minutes (that never happens, its usually well over an hour or longer). Hope they take good care of your foot. Glad you're getting it looked at.

Jean - enjoy that cheesecake...yum!

Trudy - sounds like all your projects are getting done. Your calendars are always beautiful.

Nancy - I never knew dogs got bronchitis either. Poor Luther.

I'm getting back to my chores now. Have a great day everyone.

I am back from Urgent Care. They have it set up on appointments and mine was at 11:20. Only had to wait about 15 minutes after check-in to be taken back. They took x-rays and nothing looked broken. But as the doctor explained - a stress fracture may not show up on x-rays. He said that something is definitely wrong for it to last this long. Could be a stress fracture or a bruised bone. So he put me in a new "foot" boot - which is what he would do if it is a fracture. And for me to continue elevating it and try to stay off of it as much as possible. Suggested that if it continues to give me problems after a few more weeks that I see a podiatrist. The new boot does support the foot better than the old boot I had from 1998... So it means continuing the routine I have been doing. Good thing I didn't have a lot planned for this holiday season that would keep me on my feet or out shopping.

Hello girls,
I didn't finalized my tasks yesterday. I had unfinished work as I got a break early at the week, so until I did it it was already dark outside, it was rainy and I had this feeling that my ToDoList is longer than the Santa list. Tried to cross at least some points, but didn't finished fully most of them.
So I'm trying to calm down (posting here), and wake up my brain (drinking coffee), before the start of another rush. Can I repeat my wish for three month long sleep, without anything and anyone to bother me? Did somewhere offers vacation like that?! I want one, for Christmas, please! :boink:

Kay, OMG, this sounds really worrying! Take care for yourself and wish you fast recovery! Did I already offered you arnica cream? My family use it practically for every pain. It's nice that doctors take care for you so fast! But it's frustrating that in diagnostic have lot of assumptions!

Rae, changing often the camera you use sounds challenging, but probably this also keep things interesting for you, because of process of learning and matching.

Nancy, sorry to hear about Luther's bronchitis! Hope he is nice patient and not make you troubles during you'll have to give him pills! Oh, hockey all day sounds relaxing and fun, especially at that weather when is better to not go anywhere!

Trudy, bravo for the calendar, yay you did it! Definitely we want to see pic of the resined coasters!

Jean, so happy to hear that you have fun, as that's the meaning of the season!

Chris, hope you are satisfied, as you are done great job! Yes please show us the gifts you made! So annoying this blanket to miss or probably being sold out! It would be wonderful gift! Did you asked for it?! As sometimes here they have it on stock but not loaded again before the end of the day.

Gary is up and rolling early this morning. He is in the basement working on the DR chairs. He needs to move stuff around in the DR- where all of my craft supplies are ATM- and I am not ready for that!

Very busy and successful day day yesterday. And I am in a good mood today, really good in spite of Gary wanting me to move stuff before my coffee has kicked in LOL
I use the Insight Timer app on my phone for meditating. Last night I searched for meditations about Christmas and I found a few. Last night I went to bed listening to "A Calm Christmas" and when I woke up, I listened to "The Spirit of Christmas." They helped me refocus a lot and I think it is helping my mood. I am also checking a lot off on my To Do list which is a big help.

Gary and I picked out the fabric for MIL to redo our chairs. Not the most exciting of Christmas gifts but it will really finish off the DR and LR and tie it all together. She is coming up tomorrow to do that. :)

I found and bought the blanket so now Christopher is done. Still stuck on my niece and nephew but I can always do GC's. "Kids these days" like them the best anyhow. *wink*
I did three loads of laundry and am finally caught up. (For now.) I also baked pecan pie bars and painted two of the mason jars. One is finished, the other will be done today.
We are going to get our tree this afternoon. Scott is working on his chem final and it is really time consuming. (just pass, just pass...then he will be done with chem...) He is hoping that he will have time to decorate today. Me too. In between all of that, I have to work a bit more on my Christmas lists so I have an idea of what to look for when I am out shopping tomorrow.

I hope that you are all filled with Christmas cheer today! :humble: <~me throwing Christmas confetti at everyone*

Kay- that stinks that you were up so late and then awake so darn early. Hope that the coffee helped a lot. I have only had time to scrap one page so far, two if you count the one for the challenge I am hosting- scrapped that last month.
Wow!!! That is a Christmas DMV miracle!!!!!
Good to hear that you are getting your foot checked out.

Jean- waving hi!!!

Trudy- Did you ever crawl back in bed and fall asleep? What was that? I don't think I heard you say "Nope." hahah!! Did you get that last calendar page done? Everyone will love it!

Nancy- OMG!! Bronchitis?? Poor baby!! I never knew that dogs could get bronchitis either. Sure, they get stomach bugs and respiratory infections,-- but never bronchitis. Snuggle that big boy for me.
OT sort of- the woman who does my hair owns horses and one of hers has Cushings. I had no clue horses could get that, and until he did, she didn't either.
I hope that the Devils get that energy up and up and win!
NJ DMV-- ugh, what in the world are they trying to do with the new lic. requirements??? :frusty:

Do any other states have to do a 6-point verification where you have to provide doc's in different categories that have different pt levels? It is so confusing. SMH!

Rae- great job purging! I got rid of lots of stuff last month and I want to keep going.
Whatever you are doing with your cameras, you are doing amazing! Good luck with switching it up and I hope that you find the perfect camera for you.

Kay- sorry to hear that you are in a boot but I am glad that you got it checked out and hopefully will not be in so much paint all of the time.

Felis- I swear, we are so much alike in so many ways hahaha!!!! Chaos everywhere! And the wish for a three month sleep but if we had that, we wouldn't use it...
Maybe today will be a good day to get some more things off of your lists. Have fun!

Hugs to my dear Os!

Morning, all. Guess waking up early is going to be the norm for now. It is raining but in the low 40's so no snow. I am being good.. put socks on and the foot boot along with one of my slider shoe. :crutch: Glad I am not on crutches but still limping around. The foot has been aching alot since the doc's appt. I know it is because he had to prod and poke at it. Didn't realize until then that the toes were semi-numb. So will definitely be staying off of it as much as possible today. Not going to church today. I am the hostess of the Red Hat chapter lunch on Tuesday so will have to go out to the restaurant then. But plan on staying home except for that.

Not sure if SiL will have time to get/work on my computer today. Grandson needs him to help work on his car first. Will know later on today if he has time to do the computer. If not, will put it off until next weekend as SiL works during the week.

Chris, so glad to hear you got some of the gifts finished and/or bought. Sounds like the meditation might help your spirits during this busy time of year. Have to LOL over Gary's timing of needing your help moving stuff around.

Yes, getting all the documents for the 'Real ID' for the driver's license is a pain. Thank goodness, New Mexico started doing it a few years ago and it became mandatory last year. I got mine done 2 years ago so is easy when it comes to renewing it. I feel for any gal who has been married more than once as they have to provide documents on every name change [divorce, death cert, marriage license, etc]. I have a friend who has been married and divorced 3 times! Took her a couple of months to get all the proper documents. I understand the need for the requirements to verify you are who you say you are and it is nation wide. Can't get on airplane without it now.

Nancy, so sorry that Luther is so sick. Never heard of a dog getting bronchitis. Hope the meds help him get better soon.

Rae, congrats on doing some purging. I should be doing more of that myself. I hate to think of what would need to be done if I had to move or downsize! I had to take care of everything when we had to sell Mom's house and she had a small house compared to mine. So glad you had a good visit with B.

Trudy, so nice that you have almost daily face time with family. My computer monitor is not set up with a camera so can't do that with the great-grands. Sure miss seeing them every week now that they are in AZ.

Wishing that you all have a good new week!

good morning - well another hockey game and another loss. My team scored 4 goals and yet lost 6-4. The rumors now abound about trading Taylor Hall. I know it has to be done as he is not going to resign so now I am just hoping we get a goalie. My young goalie is learning but they need a veteran goalie. Now I am watching the Mandalorian on the new Disney streaming service. It is really good if you like Star Wars shows which I do. Then more hockey this afternoon. Got another page done for my Dec. project. I am not going in chronological order too much just letting the prompts guide my pages. Thanks for the kind thoughts on Luther. I guess any breathing animal can get irritated bronchi in the lungs. Problem is what caused it.

Chris so glad you are in such good spirits. Have fun shopping for tree. You are making the best goodies to eat! Glad you got so much done on your to do list.

Kay so sorry about your foot but glad you have a good walking boot to stabilize the foot. Hope your SiL gets to your computer. I bet you miss scrapping! But at least I know you have plenty of books to keep you company!

Trudy hope you got that last calendar page completed. And that you got your errands completed too!

Rae wow good for you for doing a clean out! I know what you mean about changing cameras systems. I have gone from Nikon to Sony. And now I even have my DH using a Sony. Have fun with the new camera when you get it! I really do love your bird photos.

Jean I guess at some point we will be done with CBC but I am not sure that there are many young people in our area who are wanting to continue this tradition. How is it for your CBC?

Thanks for all the nice compliments on my pages.
Have a great day all!

Today will be the usual football on TV. Yesterday the pot luck was great, always good food and then sitting around with friends. Later I reviewed a Civil War diary from 1862 that I will probably write about in our monthly enews featuring a manuscript collection. And a new member volunteered to work on this project too! Last night we had a simple dinner and watched the Ohio State football game (a terrible first half, but came back to win in the second).

Nancy, sorry to hear about Luther, but know you'll have him back in good health soon. And I'm really enjoying your birding pages! The CBC here (there are several around, but we mostly only did one) seems to still be doing OK on participants, but you're right that getting younger folks involved doesn't happen much. Hope those Devils get it together to not just score, but win too.

Kay, wishing you better days with that foot! At least you got it looked at and know it may just need the boot and TLC. If SiL doesn't get to the computer until next weekend, you won't have to sit out any of the party here, so could be good. Staying in except for the RH lunch is smart too.

Chris, it is so nice to see you feeling more in the spirit. Hope getting the tree will now be fun. Super you got the blanket and you're making great progress on your projects. Also, loved your guest list and agenda on today's game.

Felis, wishing you more cheerful thoughts but not that 3 month sleep. When will your sister be back? Wondering who will cook when she isn't there. Hope the furbabies give you their version of hugs.

Rae, didn't realize the new camera wasn't quite what you need so hope you will be able to get a better one pretty soon.

Trudy, you are getting everything under control and maybe into the season's spirit too.

Hello girls,
After I posted here at Sunday, I got out to let the dog at the yard and was surprised from the weather. It was exactly like if I was slept 3 months (except that I'm continue to feels so darn tired), March like warm day. This helps a lot as I was able to opened the windows and fresh air always makes the cleaning easier! The beginning of the day was so successful, so I was able to keep this enthusiasm and cross lots of my ToDo List points! Hope that's mean I'll be able to scrap tomorrow or on the next day! I even ended the day watching Christmas movie, which cheers me up!

Jean, OMG the diary from the Civil War it's so cool! I just watched ''The Birth of a Nation'' (the 2016's version) and its fit so much to our liberation war and the place of the religion at the slaveries life. Is this diary was on someone from North or South? Is this actual diary or just copy made from the historical association? Is it have this strange energy that ancient subjects have?
L O L about the diners cooking, that was exactly what we ask one each other too. And I have to admit that we ordered food way too often, which isn't much healthy. In the other cases mom takes this task, as it's difficult to me to organize my time right now.

Nancy, I had to go and see your pages! They are lovely indeed! What kind of project is this: one page per day or scraping the concrete day's memories?

Kay, my sister bought separate Desktop Webcam for her monitor, it wasn't much expensive (around $20) and it is easy for install. In bonus when you not use it you can box it and not worry that someone can spy you. I bet your great-grands kids will love to see you more often too! Maybe it worth to be considering as christmas gift wish!

Chris, trust me I'll sleep three months without any effort! Great that this meditation helps you. What do you think about the trend with ASMR relaxing? I can't explain why, but they makes me feel suspicious that they try to make us responsive to suggestions as at hypnoses. And why all these girls looks porn? It's not my cup of tea, even if it's work.
Bravo for the well done tasks! Nice progress with the gifts too! To redo chairs is a lovely gift, it is eco friendly (their lasting life prevent overconsuming), it's also creative and sentimental!

Evelyn :welcome: !
