Happy Weekend!! I am feeling better today than I did yesterday. I was *exhausted.* Still not that bone-crushing, almost too tired to breathe exhaustion that I had when I was so sick. *knocks wood* That was so bad and I have to use that as a marker for how far I have come with the recovery/remission. I have been off of abx for 5 months now and so far, pretty good. *knocks wood again and again*
I slept until 7 so you know that I must have been tired, Gary said that he was concerned when he woke up and the coffee wasn't on yet.

I am going to make this short since I feel like I am behind by a few hours LOL

I am puttering around the house a bit and hope to either get some scrapping done or clean up my photos/computer files etc.

have a great day!!!

Trudy- I go through a love-hate thing on Instagram. I need to find easier ways to use it. LMK if you do! Hope that you were able to either scrap or paint and be happy with it.

Nancy- Bet Luther was happy to be at daycare. I saw some of the pics over Queens, how crazy. I would have been scared if I saw that.
Glad that the Devils played well too.

Kay- whew, good news that you don't have a cold. Hope you aren't getting all of that snow! Yikes! (I hate snow.... grumbles....). I can't imagine not seeing my kids all of the time, but technology must make it easier at least.

Rae- I am sure that you got your work done in no time-- enjoy the weekend and lighter work load next week too.

You fininshedHill House!! we were slightly disappointed with the last episode as it wasn't as creepy as the others but wow, such a good series! That is so funny that your google chrome wouldn't talk to Jen! :pound:

jean- it was bad weather here yesterday bit today seems to be nicer-- hope that your weather is the same so your DH can do the survey.
I was on hold with the ins. co. for over an hour listening to the same darn 30 seconds of a song until I had to hang up, I could not take any more.

Better get rolling.... :bowl: xoxo

Morning, everyone. It is bone-chilling - woke to 15 degrees and it hasn't gone up in the last 2 hours! ! ! Maybe will get to 21 for a high. I left my heater set at 70 all night and opened cabinet doors by all the sinks to keep the pipes from freezing. I will be leaving them open today too. Our neighborhood only got a couple of inches of snow... but just 1/2 mile away they had 5". Other areas of town had 10"!! Lots of icy roads and accidents yesterday with blizzard conditions in much of the state. Don't think I want to get out on the roads as the main ones to get to the shops was closed in 2 different areas due to the icy roads. We are up on a mesa so must go down/up hills wherever we go. Safer to just hibernate at home. Even at that, I was on the cold side all day. Had on long-johns, heavy socks, pants, and sweat shirt... then dug out my DH's heavy fleece jacket and burrowed under a heavy throw while I was relaxing and reading. My hands were cold so had the fleece jacket sleeves pulled down over them. I have arthritis in both hands so they feel the cold/damp...I have taken to wearing gloves in the house when they get bad. Must have a dozen pair of gloves so I always have a pair handy when needed.

Yes, I managed to get 4 LOs done and started on another one yesterday. So I am pretty well caught up on commitments until Jan 1. I have the one I am working on for myself. Need to decide what kit to use for it.

I am over halfway done reading "Of Bones and Blood" - the 2nd in 'The One' series by Nora Roberts. Next on the list to be read is "Tree Grows in Brooklyn" for the Red Hatter Book Nook group. It is the January selection. I read it many years ago - need to re-read it so I can remember it. LOL On Dec 31st, the latest of the Bishop series "Final Shadows" by Kay Hooper will be on sale. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Chris, glad you slept in abit today. Your body is telling you that it needed the rest. Glad you are past the exhaustion stage of your recovery and you can look back and see how far you have come since there.

I never got on Instagram as it was too hard to figure out. I have enough problems learning how to use my new "smart phone"! Need to have DD#1 show me how to get rid of appts I don't want/need on it. Not sure how they got there as I didn't download them.

Morning ladies... it is another very wet and rainy morning :rain: Oh well it sure beats snow!! This morning my brother and SIL are dropping in for coffee. I am happy to see them again, after their trip to Australia! It was a shorter time away for them this year, but I think that they are glad to be home. They are picking up a car seat that we have, to use for when their son and his family come to visit. They arrive on New Years Eve from Australia, so they will be happy to be with the kids again! Lucky them! DH is still fighting his cold, and so far I show no signs of catching it from him (knocks on wood!) Not much else happening today, except a trip to the grocery store for a few items. I might be going by myself today and leave my Gary on the Couch to stay warm and get better! He won't be a very good dancing partner if he doesn't get over this cold!

Chris - I slept in until 7am also, it felt good! Sure beats waking up at 4am!! I will be the same, just puttering around the house a bit and hopefully getting some things done here also. I keep thinking that DH and I should watch that Hill House, but I am not a huge fan of being creeped out :fear: so I am a bit apprehensive to watch it. So far no luck on getting that app to work for me on Instagram, it simply will not let me register and sign in :noidea: unless it is something to do with the security on my Mac?? Oh well I will continue to try and let you know if I find anything that works for me. I got to the point where I was about ready to pull my hair out and decided to just step away from the computer for a bit. Sorry you had to sit and wait so long on the phone yesterday! So frustrating :frusty:

Nancy - DH and I both missed Marchand bumping your goalie LOL, guess we were not very observant. I know everyone hates him, but I bet they would all love to have him on their team :becky: Anyway the best team won and your goalie did an amazing job of stopping all those shots! That is why I love Photoshop too, if you don't like what you have done, you just start over, no mess, no clean up LOL. Sorry that your boy is sick with a cold, guess it is that time of the year :mmph: I saw shots of the night sky over NJ too and I thought, I would not of thought it was aliens, I would have thought oh nooo another terrorist attack!! It would have scared the crap out of me!! Hope you have a great weekend!

Kay - How nice to have the new shorter haircut! I bet it is so much easier to take care of! You are such a busy scrapper and all of your pages are just so lovely! Wish I could get more pages dones myself, but I seem to be low on mojo lately. Hope you are enjoying your new books and that you get time to do more research done about the blue ray machines. Did you end up getting much snow yesterday?

Rae - That is too bad that you had to work yesterday, but I am sure you got it all done quickly and hopefully got some time to relax! I will get my SIL to take a look at what I have painted so far and if it is totally not what she wants then it will be back to the drawing board for me LOL. I hate trying to post things on my phone to Instagram or anywhere, I like to be on my big screen with my big keyboard! So hopefully I will find something that will work for me. Looking forward to seeing your January 52 Inspiration page! Thanks for the nice comment on my layout for the December one!

Jean - How did your Morrocan chicken turn out? It sounds really yummy! Sure hope that the wind died down for your area! I know you would not want the horrible wind storms that we had, still people with no power and lots of clean up still going on!

Ok DH is hacking and coughing Ugghh!! So I better get something nice and warm in his tummy and find some medicine for him to take. Men are such babies when they are sick LOL! The dreaded Man Cold :becky: Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday, stay dry and warm everyone!

When DH got up early this am it was still too windy so he came back to bed. The Moroccan chicken is in the crockpot now and I think he was not totally happy we were planning to eat in tonight as going out would at least have let him see part of one of today's big bowl games. They are all on ESPN and we do not have cable or whatever and can't watch them.

Chris that was a surprise to sleep so late (for you) but surely a good sign as well. Hope today stays pleasant and peaceful. Have a little time with the rat babies. Are the kids both done with finals now?

Kay, wow, it sure got cold there. We have to worry about the kitchen sink pipes when it gets that cold. We even have a little space heater just for that now. Stay in and off those icy roads. Good thing you planned for it and got the errands done and those books to read.

Trudy, wishing you well dealing with the man cold! Have to get him better for that dancing. Love your tree LO for the 52 Inspirations. Lots of good looking LOs for it.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi everyone. Just popping in for a minute. I'll come back tomorrow at some point to chat. We spent the afternoon with B at the hospital and then had dinner and walked Taz. I'm going to hang out with D for a few hours and watch a few shows, just relax. I've decided to put the Xmas stuff and tree away tomorrow. That way we can spent the next day with B and then after that will have one day to myself (hopefully scrapping) before getting back to work.

I'll check in with you all tomorrow, probably in the afternoon after I get the Xmas stuff put away. Hope you are all having a great wkend.

Morning ladies... I am up before DH on this Sunday morning, he is still battling his cold and so sleeping is probably the best thing he can do for it right now. Please, Please I pray to the Gods of Health that will I not get this darn cold of his. I am so looking forward to the New Year's Eve dance, I do not want to go feeling crappy!! Not sure what I am doing today, perhaps some putting away of the Christmas decorations and some cleaning. Other than that I would like to scrap a bit and work on my painting a bit too. Brother and SIL both love what I have done so far with the painting, so I will continue on with what I have been doing. I will post a photo when I am all finished. This one could take me a while as it is a big project. The rain has stopped and I think it is supposed to be sunny all day so it will be a great day to get outside for a bit also. I am really missing my hiking and swimming, so I hope I can get back to doing that soon! The swimming lanes will be busy as all the New Year's resolution swimmers will be there for a while LOL. That doesn't usually last too long and the numbers dwindle quickly.

Jean - Hope your DH was not too unhappy with you making your Morrocan chicken dish. I bet it was delicious and worth missing the games he wanted to see. Thanks for the comment on my 52 Inspiration page, trees are a fav subject of mine. I have a gazzilion photos of them LOL.

Rae - How is B doing? Are you seeing any improvement in her memory yet? Sounds like it is a wonderful place for her to be! Hope you had a relaxing time with D watching your shows etc. My Gary and myself watched Bohemian Rhapsody on Kodi last night, it was fabulous, but sure wish we would have seen it on the big screen!! I need to start putting away my Christmas decorations also, but will do it a bit at a time, I always find it sad to put away all those memories!

Off to get some more coffee and then check out the gallery for some Inspiration. Have a great Sunday everyone! Send out no cold thoughts my way to keep me germ free please!! :becky:

Guess I was really tired as I slept in until 7:15! Woke up to 17 degrees again this morning. Brrr... Staying in today as some roads are still icy and temp won't get above 25. More snow starting tomorrow and into New Year's Day so will be staying in for several more days.

Had a wonderful dream about Bill holding me so woke up with a smile on my face. Guess that was him letting me know it was okay that I spent yesterday packing up all his clothes in the MB closet. It has been almost a year - so wanted to start off the New Year with that last chore done. Have 4 huge leaf-garage bags full. Still have to put the folded dress shirts into a bag to add to the other ones. DD#3 will drop them off at a homeless shelter next week. I know they will be useful there. Bill's half of the closet looks so empty so will move some of my clothes over there when I feel up to that chore.

Trudy, hoping you don't catch Gary's cold. Hope you stay well so you can enjoy the New Year's Eve dance. Glad you Brother and SiL likes the painting you are doing for them. I know that sometimes in the middle of doing one of mine, I am not sure it is going the way I want... then really like it when I finish it. Hope you get some swimming in as the exercise helps you.

Chris, so sorry your call to the ins co was another long wait with no answer just music... If I have that, I put my phone on speaker phone and do other things will I am waiting for the call to answered.

Speaking of music, I have been playing music from YouTube while I am working on the computer. It sure helps my mood and makes the time go faster. I just discovered that the 2 non-HD cable boxes (1 in the master bedroom and 1 in Bill's office) are not working now... says the cards are expired!!! But the HD cable box in the Family room is working fine. Guess I will call the 24-hour tech line to see if they just need to be re-booted. I did try taking the cards out for a couple of minutes then reinserting with no luck.

Need to take a shower and get dressed. May even change the bed linens and get a jump on doing laundry.

good Sunday morning - yesterday was so busy. Had to get up early and get ready for an afternoon hockey game. Devils played the Hurricanes and our new goalie Mackinzie Blackwood (6ft 4in) got a shut out. He is a big man. It is exciting to see a player who has worked so hard get a chance and do so well. It was nice to go in day light and go home in day light. Came home and my son order dinner in via GrubHub. That was a nice surprise. Then watched hockey. We were watching the World Jrs. and the USA was losing 4-0 to Sweden so I was pretty sure we were not going to win. We switched to the Outlander new episode, which was amazing as it is the first meeting of Jaime and Bree. When it was over the game had finished only to find out my team USA had scored 4 goals in the final 10 min to tie. They lost in OT but to tie it was pretty fun. So I did not get to sleep until 2am LOL. But on the good side I did not wake up until a little after 9am. Today is to get some scrapping done and watch some football as no hockey until the evening. But it was a good night for me hockey wise. The Islanders defeated the Maple Leafs 4-0 and it was the first time that John Taveras played against the team he left for the Maple Leafs. My Coyotes won in OT. Very fun! My DH went to a wedding in NYC. I could not go as it involved too much walking and there was no way to drive during the holidays. It took him 90 min going in and over two hours to get home. He could not even get on NJT trains to come home the platforms were so crowded. He had to subway to World Trade Centers and take Path to Newark. It is amazing how well he knows the lines he can take to get places. He made it home after 11pm. But the wedding was held near the Rockefeller Center so he sent a cool photo of the tree and skaters below.

Chris glad you are feeling more rested and not total exhaustion. Bet playing with those baby rats is fun. At what age are baby rats considered juveniles or adults. Have fun with puppies.

Trudy so sorry you are up so early. I feel so sorry for any one who has a serious cold. They are so the pits. Hope you can help you DH feel better. Rest and sleep so help though hard to sleep when coughing. Have fun doing scrapping and painting.

Rae glad you had some work but glad now you can enjoy the day with D and TV. Hope the un-decorating goes well. Signals start of a new year. Have fun with B.

Kay so glad that you did not get hit with so much snow. The photos on the news are pretty but I do not want to be out in them for sure. Enjoy the books. I read a Tree Grows in Brooklyn as a child too. I remember really enjoying the book.

Jean we are having a gray day today too. I should be on the Christmas bird count. But I will next year. Are you doing it this year? There should be lots of birds as there is open water and the temps have been moderate. They will probably see lots of good birds and I will be pissed.

Have a great day all!

Good afternoon, ladies. The tree and decorations are put away. I'm relaxing for a few minutes before putting the computer and desk back into the LR corner where the tree was. Then take out all the garbage and take Taz for a walk. I might pop over to drop off some stuff to Value Village. I might as well declutter some more and take a few more bags of clothes and small household stuff over to them. Then I can get D some take-out on the way home. He's probably in withdrawal, its been about 5 days since he had any LOL. Tonight I'll make spaghetti for dinner (spaghetti squash for me). D is loving the air fryer for french fries but I figure after 3 days of it we should take a break, too much starch to have those all the time (I'm sure he would disagree LOL). I still haven't found time to scrap but will later today or tomorrow, to get my challenge ready and a sample page for it. Tomorrow we'll go with J to spend some time with B before coming home for a quiet NYE with movies and snacks. I've got a few cookies left so she'll love that.

Chris - hope you are relaxing, since you haven't posted this morning. Enjoy your day.

Trudy - fingers crossed, no sick germs for you. Can't wait to see finished project soon and not surprised they like it so far, you've got talent and creativity. As for B, she is showign a bit more improvement with the brain exercises they are doing with her. She remembered that her game was in the closet which was a big deal (it had been put there the day before). But, we don't know for sure how much or how long these bits of clarity will last. They predict not too much improvement but with her young age they can't be certain. She still triggers a lot, especially around J, blaming her for placing her in this place, this prison. Poor J. I hope someday that improves as she is always walking on eggshells around her, never knowing when the triggering will happen which is in the blink of an eye and can last for hours. We only get triggering for a few minutes and then she snaps out of it. We are very happy with the hospital and staff. Such a relief after the other places. So for now, she is safe, getting therapy and they seem kind and helpful with her.

Kay - such a wonderful way to wake up, with a smile. I can only imagine how difficult this past yr has been and I hope that 2019 brings lots of joy and peace to you.

Nancy - enjoy your sports and scrapping today. Sorry to hear you had to miss the wedding but you know your limits and best not to push yourself to make it worse. The cold has been making my back sore more often but luckily not constant. I'll be glad when we get the warmer weather again.

Jean - going on the Xmas bird count? I'm always envious of that, it would be so much fun.

I'm trying to get my book read "The Passage" and have been reading as much as I can over this last week or so. I'm over the halfway mark now, such a long story, but so good. I can't wait to start book 2 and see where that goes.

I've had a long enough rest, I'd better get back to chores. Have a great day, everyone.
