Happy Weekend! It is the weekend, right? I can't tell what day it is anymore. I mean, it is more difficult than usual. :rotfl:

Yesterday felt like a Saturday to me. Driving to the movie theater and then to the pub after, it was rush hour on one of the main highways in/out of NYC. So much fun. /s
I was relieved that Sam was driving. I had asked if she was ok with that since it's been getting harder and harder to drive at night and I wasn't even considering that it would be rush hour.

It was a crazy day! I had to place a fast order for groceries to pick up this morning. :desk3: <~ me throwing items into the virtual shopping cart.
If all goes as planned, we should be heading to PA over the next 12-30 hours and we need food. OTOH, nothing seems to be going as planned. Caitlyn is feeling much better but when we got home, Gary was under the blankets not feeling good. He is going to take a test this morning and see if he has covid. My MIL tested positive last night too. *knocks wood* I still feel fine.

Part of me would be OK not going. I am so behind in everything it would be nice to have no plans for a few days. But I want to hang with all of the kids there too. We packed a bunch of games and the fireplace is there. I'm bringing wine :)

Caitlyn got her wedding photos yesterday! 2100 of them. There were a lot that were duplicates with different filters but wow, it was delightful and emotional looking at them. More than once I got choked up. Gary hugging Caitlyn at the altar, my mom dancing with Caitlyn, and more than a few gorgeous ones of Scott and Caitlyn together. Oh yeah. The bride and groom too :nod1: LOL

Wicked was awesome! Almost 3 hours but it didn't feel that long. (My butt said it was that long but my attention was held the entire time)
My niece was cracking me up, she has *opinions* and didn't think Cynthia Erivo was a good Elpheba. I can see where she was coming from but otherwise, I loved it.

I guess other than picking up my groceries this morning, I am not sure what I am doing. Either I am frantically packing me, Gary, and the dogs to head out tomorrow or I am not.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy day!

Mark's daughter didn't come over yesterday. She is planning to come over today. We shall see. She hasn't been feeling great, either! I'm feeling pretty well. I have a slight headache still and have started coughing again.....let's hope and pray I'm not revisiting the crud! Fingers crossed!
It's been a rough time of year for everyone. Sending you all healthy vibes and I hope that you aren't getting sick again.

@AK_Tracy What an amazing gift from your DD! So thoughtful and I can understand totally why you love it.
time to hit the store and get something else. A salad would be amazing.
Soooo with you! I had dreams of eating hamburgers the other night. I haven't eaten red meat in maybe 15 years. The last time I had a burger it destroyed my stomach. I was going to order a flatbread at dinner last night and switched it to a chicken salad sandwich, just to get some protein and veggies.

I hope and pray that the next year will bring you an easier time ♥♥♥
Same to you and your family ♥
Today Belle and I spent all day getting her things unpacked. It will be a couple or three more days of that before it's done. But she's home. And my son in law is home from deployment safely as well, so he and Erinn are in a honeymoon phase and seem delightfully happy
That's incredible for a mama's heart :lovey3:
So happy for you all!

Let me walk down Memory Lane for a moment - humor me. Flying USED to be fun. Yes, I said "fun". That was then and this is now and it isn't much fun anymore. I guess if you didn't know how much fun it used to be, you couldn't relate but trust me. Back in "the day" (I sound as old as Methuselahs) Chuck and I used to fly so much, and he had so many frequent flyer miles that we could always upgrade to first class, or at least business class. Oh well, what are you gonna do????
Who is older, Methuselah or Moses?
Just askin' :p

On a serious note, Chuck's advice about getting whatever you forget when you are in LV is sound advice. Susie's gonna hook you up with whatever you need too. Have a fantastic trip and leave all of your cares behind, as best you can.
Poor Daisy! My dogs are like that too when they see a suitcase. I try to put my stuff in a laundry basket until the suitcase needs to come out at the last minute.
I cannot wait to see pics of the two of you together! Enjoy!

Hugs to everyone!

Morning, all. I was up and dressed before 6:00AM this morning. Woke up early and got a really early start on the day. :wow2: Grandson#1 will be over to clean up my yard this morning. Plus have the Amazon delivery some time today. No PJ day for me today.

Hard to believe that it almost the end of the year. Have a few things I want to finish up so I am ready for the New Year.

@AK_Tracy what a delightful and thoughtful gift your DD gave you. Now you can read when you are in your 'suit'. :claphands2:

@faerywings I understand your mixed feelings about going somewhere right now with so many of the family sick. Oh... photos of the wedding!!! Bet you the family will have a great time figuring out which ones they want to get.

@Cherylndesigns I know you are looking forward to your visit with Susie... but understand not liking to fly. Will be thinking of you as you travel... so glad you will have company on the trip. @pachimac - I can imagine how excited you will be when she arrives.

@mimes1 So good to have you popping back in... you have been missed. I can imagine how happy your DD and SonInLaw are to be together after his deployment... DH and I had many separations with his deployments during his 40 years with Navy and under contract with the Navy. Yes, it is like a honeymoon every time he got back home.

Have to go... he is here.

Good Morning!!!!! ITS SATURDAY!!!!!!!! My final day of work. Its a bitter sweet feeling. I am ready to be done and yet I really did love my job when not training people. But in. 8 weeks I will have the first surgery so I am really glad to be done working.

It was a crazy day! I had to place a fast order for groceries to pick up this morning. :desk3: <~ me throwing items into the virtual shopping cart.

What a crazy season youre having. I hope everyone is well but sounds like germs spread. So hard to know what to do. Excited to go and had plans and yet staying home sounds great too. But then that also means everyone is sick. I hope you get to go. It sounds like a fun trip.

Yuck at being up at 6 but yeah that your Grandson will be there to clean up the yard!!!!

Dog whining. to go out. Need coffee. Have a great day!

Good morning ladies! Am slowly on the mend but still congested and tired. Had our game day yesterday which I was torn about, thinking maybe I should cancel as I'm still not quite back to normal energy-wise but I'm glad we went ahead with it, we had a lot of fun. My friend confirmed yesterday that she will be going on the polar bear expedition with us next fall. That's going to be so much fun. We'll put our deposit down in January.

I still can't drink more than 1/2 a cup of coffee without getting stomach upset. I try each morning and then switch to ginger tea. I miss my morning coffee.

I'm going to get some veggies later and will make an instant pot creamed turkey soup (with coconut milk), can't wait to try it for dinner tonight. I hope to get a sour dough loaf to go with it.

I got a new braided rope leash for Remi with a comfortable wrist band and will start practicing short walks with it, teaching her to stay close and not pull. If she can manage this, then she can start coming for some photo walks in the spring with me and maybe sometimes come along to our ladies walking group on Wednesdays.

I want to work on some CT stuff over the next few days, work on some new jewelry designs and will continue binging the limited series Hollidaze which we are both enjoying.

@faerywings Hope Gary doesn't have covid and feels better quickly. Sounds like a wonderful outing yesterday. I can only imagine how much fun it was to look thru all the photos, so many!

@BrightEyes How nice of GS to come clean up the yard for you.

I'm getting out of here so I can get some CT work done. HAGD everyone.

Sorry to hear Gary is not feeling well! I hope it isn't COVID!
But, Glad Caitlyn is feeling better!
I knew you would LOVE Wicked!
Whatever you decide to do today, have a great time with the kids in PA!

I can't believe it is afternoon already!
Got up at 9. Mark fixed my coffee and had the dishes from the dishwasher already put away! What a guy!
I fixed him some grits for breakfast and while waiting on my frittata and blueberry muffin to finish baking we started playing some games.....after he finished eating.
I have chicken wings thawing to fix later. He has started the football binging back in his office. I'm re-downloading kits from the my store that I lost on the EHD. Not sure if I'm going to have it looked at or not, but if I do it won't be until after the first of the year that I tackle that. I will probably do that because not only did I lose all of my scrapbook pages.....I also lost all of the ATCs I did from March through November.
It has been raining here for 2 days, so I'm not going to try to do any laundry as I'm sure the septic tank will complain!
Looking forward to going back to church tomorrow. Not sure if Mark will try to go or not. He is still pretty congested.
Have a great weekend!

Well, well, well. Does anything ever go as planned?
Naaaaah! ;)

I'm still feeling fine but Gary tested positive so we are hanging back here instead of heading to PA. I'm really bummed but there are some silver linings, like I don't have to figure out what to pack. :/
It will be quiet without the kids but I'll use the next few days to get the house in order and all of my lessons written up. I also am scheduled for Tindamax this week. I was going to wait until after the trip but no need to do that. I'll start it this morning. (UGH)
Who knows, maybe I'll even have a chance to scrap *fingers crossed*

I'll be back for personals in a few!

@BrightEyes Up and dressed by 6 am! Me-- I'd be awake but resisting the "dressed and ready to go" part. Although, that's not true either. If I was working, I'd have my work clothes on by then too. Today, however, I am still in my PJs :D
I worked with a woman years ago whose culture required you to clean your cabinets and closets before the new year. It sounds like you have a bit of that going on too!

My final day of work. Its a bitter sweet feeling. I am ready to be done and yet I really did love my job when not training people. But in. 8 weeks I will have the first surgery so I am really glad to be done working.
Congrats on a job well done! I hope that you get lots of time to prep and *rest* before the surgeries begin. I don't think I ever asked-- how intensive are these surgeries? What kind of recovery and rehab will you need? Big hugs coming to you :hug3:

@bcgal00 That's nice to hear you are slowly feeling better, good that it is in the right direction. But I wish it would hurry up for you and you were back to your normal non-stop speed :D
My friend confirmed yesterday that she will be going on the polar bear expedition with us next fall.
HOLD UP!!! How did I miss this????
Wow!!! That is the coolest (no pun intended) thing!

@vickyday Wicked was so much fun! I had a hard time keeping my feet still during some of the songs LOL I pulled out the soundtrack to listen to and grabbed my "Grimmerie" BFF got me years ago. Fun to go down Memory Lane/Yellow Brick Road. hehe
I always get choked up when I listen to For Good, one of my and BFFs songs. ♥

Here's to a healthier 2025! :praying2:
YES!!! To everyone!

Aww, that's sweet that Mark had your coffee ready for you- he must have known he was your "not-so-DH" the other day haha!
Would it be easier to download the ATC from the Gallery?

HAGD!!

My final day of work
Good morning everyone and Congratulations Tracy on your retirement!!! It's well deserved, and I pray for you rest and enjoyment of your time, serving your family, the Lord, and making some time for yourself. (well maybe time for yourself? :heartpumpred: )

@faerywings I hope your family gets well sooner than later and that your plans can proceed!!

@BrightEyes Thanks for your kind words the other day. The photos of the kids reunion were beautiful and loving, and I already ordered canvases for the walls of three of them! I'm hoping to organize my time a little differently in the new year and pop in more often. I love it here.

Having Belle home is really wonderful. Helping her get settled is fun, and it's also forcing me to organize the bathroom cabinets as I shift from the bathroom she's in to the bathroom Mark's in! Hah! We've never not shared a bathroom, and now that I've had my own bathroom for a few months, I'm not sure I want to share with him! :floorlaugh: Hmmmmmm..... should I share with Belle or with Mark?? Tough decision~! :giggle4:

I got my challenge layout for next month done last tonight, and today I have to do my Color Play layout for December. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute! Then, Christmas will come down before Wednesday. We got invited to a New Years Party last night which I don't love the sound of - I'd much rather stay home, but it would be an opportunity for Belle to meet some people since she's brand new in town. So we'll see.

Off to get ready for church, and it is dreary dreary dreary here, complete with a tornado watch at the moment. Then we have an invitation for lunch with a friend at her home after church. And back to work tomorrow. We've had the whole week off! It's been a very nice time.

See you all later!

I can download the ATCs from the gallery but the res isn't print-worthy, unfortunately!

Morning, all. Yesterday was a busy day... Grandson did a fabulous job cleaning my yard... It was a big job and took him over 5 hours to get it finished. Looks so much better now. My Amazon delivery of the Fantastic Beast #2 and #3 was delivered by mid-afternoon. DD#3 came down around 3PM and ended up spending the night here. Yes... we binged watch not only the movies but the special features on making the movies (2 different ones). She was telling me that it was fabulous to get to watch them without being interrupted by her 4yr old grandson (who lives with them), her sons or her hubby. Such a fun girls only time... laughing and enjoying the time together. We were up until after 11PM - which is late for both of us. :D

@faerywings So sorry to hear that Gary has Covid now... Sending him lots of healing thoughts... and double them for you as you start taking Tindamax. Maybe it is just as well that you don't have to make the trip to PA as I know you were waffling on if you wanted to go or not.

@vickyday I hear you about having to download some kits that you lost on the ExHD. Hope you can recover some/most of what it on that. I had to re-down load 4 kits that for some reason were corrupted and I couldn't copy them to my ExHD. 2 of them are kits I want to use for new LOs in the New Year.

@AK_Tracy Congrats on your retirement!!! What surgery will you be having in Jan??? Best wishes for a good outcome and quick recovery.

I hear DD#3 stirring. BBL

This sounds so fun!! What a great night.

Thank you all for the congrats on retirement. I dont think it will feel real until next Saturday and I dont have to get dressed to go to work. It was crazy not to be the one locking the door as we left last night. I gave my key to my replacement and told my boss I had officially handed off the key.

Surgery (1st one) will be in February. I will be having lipedema surgery and the first one is lower legs. We will flight out the day before, then four days after fly home. Its not for cosmetics purposes but it is liposuction style surgery. I will have several "punctures" per leg so they can remove the fibrotic tissue. I will then ooze a couple days and be super sore. **** Warning!! Gross description******* They will basically peel my skin off the fibrotic fat, suck it out, and then wrap me.

I will be in compression (super tight) for 2 weeks 24/7 and then 2 weeks of 12on/12off. I wont be able to do much the first two week, sit, minimal walking, use the pump I have to keep the lymph system flowing. Then we will do upper legs/butt in May. The arms/trunk still have to be scheduled. It will take a year from surgery to be finally healed and see how it all ends up. If I choose (with doc input) I will also have skin removal later this fall. If the fibrotic tissue amounts are enough that the skin just sags.

Time for more coffee, feed the dogs and get kids out the door for church! Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. Still can't drink more than one cup of coffee before the stomach upset starts...ugh. I like ginger tea but I really miss my multiple cups of morning coffee. I am home today so other than walking Remi, I plan to binge netflix, make some jewelry, scrap a bit and do a bit of meal planning.

I made instapot turkey rice soup last night and it was so yummy and simple to make. Dice and saute onion, 2 celery, 1 green pepper and 2 carrots in pot, cancel setting and then add in 3-4 cups of chicken broth, 1 cup uncooked rice and 2 cups of shredded or diced turkey. I added a good sprinkle (not measured) of italian spice, pepper and a pinch of salt. Manual cook for 10-15 min and let natural release for 10 min before manual steam release. Add in a can of coconut milk and stir. Yum! I had a few chunks of sourdough bread with it. I'm having it again tonight but froze 3 other portions.

@faerywings Maybe I didn't mention it yet but I decided to delay a UK 2025 cruise (Canadian dollar is terrible right now) and focus on a few other trips. The first one we'll book is a tour in Churchill Manitoba for a week at the end of Oct. It's a polar bear expedition with 4 days on the ice/shore looking for polar bears, foxes, etc on the Hudson Bay. The polar bears congregate there, waiting to cross the bay when it freezes over, it is heavily populated area. We go out in a tundra vehicle each day and then back to the lodge for the night. One night (weather permitting) we'll be on a night tour to see northern lights. My friend Gloria is coming along and we'll have a blast hanging out with other photographers. Darrell will be excited to see the bears too, especially since there is a good chance he'll get some decent photos, even with his phone camera. It's two short flights to get there which will be nice, after all the long flights we've been doing. I would have liked to have booked the train ride but it was already booked for 2025.

@AK_Tracy Happy retirement! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. Sounds like a lot of surgery/recovery ahead but at the end of it you will be like a new woman!

I'm going to get out with Remi in a few minutes. I'd better go. HAGD everyone.

How fun, Kay, that your DD spent the night with you! An unexpected PJ party! That is wonderful ANY time!
DH suggested I get a Solid State EHD to replace the HDD that all of my kits were on! Plus I have another HDD with all of my pictures on it, so I am going to backup all of my stuff.....kits and pics......to the new 4TB EHD when I get it this week. My "old" self is leery of cloud backups for some reason. Have you had any experience with it?

Well, well, well. Does anything ever go as planned?

WOW! Talk about major surgery! I pray things go even better than expected and that the Lord gives you quick healing! You will have to journal/scrap about the whole process/progress!

Thank you Vicky, it will be amazing once it is all done. I'm hoping my energy levels go up like my daughters did. And you can count on some layouts showing up! LOL
