I decided that I was going to combine today's and tomorrow's threads into one. I know how busy everyone is and I hope that you are all spending time celebrating with people in your bubble!
All of my plans have gone haywire but I think I have reached my eventual point of "whatever I forgot/messed up, no one will notice other than me."

Whatever happened with my shopping order started the day with a touch of oddness. Two things I ordered with marked as unavailable but were in the order. The Italian bread that I needed for the bruschetta was not in stock nor the mozzarella sticks and cinnamon. But there was a box of potato skins that I know I didn't order- I make my own and with fake bacon so Cait can eat them. They didn't show up on my receipt either. (Maybe my shopper took pity on me LOL)
The family loves the bruschetta I make- it's a creamy bruschetta topping with lots of cheese and garlic and was the first thing that they requested for C. Day menu. So what does a crazy mom do? She bakes homemade Italian bread- used the machine to make the dough, and then into the oven. The cinnamon rolls were for C breakfast so now Crazy Mom is making an apple bread. Yeah, I know I could say no to all of this but this year sucks so I am trying to keep some of the important things close as possible to what they should be.

I finished wrapping all of the gifts and three of the 5 baskets. Packaged all of the cookies up- the neighbors' will get passed along today. We are leaving here at 11 am to see my brother, my parents, my SIL and nieces (BIL will be at work), and my ILs - then back home. Then we need to make the gingerbread house for the Zoom party at 6 pm. We were supposed to do it yesterday but we ran out of time. I even ran out of time to take a shower. Literally- just no time. I had so many more things that I did yesterday that looking back it is surprising that I had time to breathe.

I am wishing you a very special holiday and am sending my love to you and all of your families. xoxoxo

Kay- Sounds like every day you will be feeling better, are you having any family zoom calls today/tomorrow? I hope that you have a fab day.

Trudy- It is *always* wine o'clock! LOL You had a lot of running around yesterday, bet it felt wonderful to put your feet up with glass in hand. "It is what it is" - as long as you and your Gary are together, the chicken will be perfect for dinner. And if not, drink enough wine so you don't care either way! hahahaha

Rae- My stomach knots up when I think about how long the waiting period must be for you and B. But I am breathing a small sigh of relief that she is doing well otherwise. Tell D that I am doing the same things- trying to do too many things and not giving any of it my full attention which means nothing comes out the way it should. Are the jam-jams something that he *only* makes for Christmas? Maybe he can try another batch for New Years?

Sending BIG hugs!! ::grouphug

Happy Christmas Eve ladies... It is foggy and cold out there today and I am happy to just be home all day, no where to go! Got all my running around done yesterday and we are ready for our very quiet Covid Christmas! Yesterday morning SIL Sharon and her Son stopped by to pick up a few things that I had for the In-Laws and we had a nice social distance visit, wearing masks. It was nice to see her although I am a bit nervous being around her son as he never stays home and has done lots of partying with his friends. He was good though and kept his mask on the whole time. I think that his Mother gave him a good talking to before he came here LOL. Anyway they were heading up to drop off Christmas gifts and have a visit with MIL and FIL and hopefully they were good about keeping their masks on there also! It will sure be a strange Christmas this year, usually I am cooking for a house full of relatives. MIL was telling me the other day that this will be the first Christmas ever where they have been alone! That is sad they have been married for 66 years and not one Christmas with just the two of them. It certainly will be a different Christmas for them!!

Chris - My gosh woman you were a ball of fire yesterday!! That is a lot of baking and your bruschetta sounds mouthwatering good!! Hope you have a wonderful visit with your family today and how nice to be dropping off all of those goodies to the neighbours!! How strange to have the extra things in your shopping order! I picked up my order yesterday and they said that I got everything that I ordered but no I did not!!! I was missing the carrots and cherry tomatoes that I ordered for DH. Oh well I am not going to any stores today he can do without. My Gary will be home shortly after 1pm as they are closing up the office early and sending everyone home. He will head to the Liquor store for some Champagne so that we can have Mimosas in the morning while we open our gifts. May as well have a buzz on for Christmas morning LOL. Do you think that maybe we have a drinking problem :loco: I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas!! You are blessed to have your family with you during this Holiday Season!! Merry Christmas my friend!!

Rae - I am so glad to hear that B is doing ok and that things seem to alright at her care home!! Sorry D's jam jams did not turn out so good, yup stress baking is maybe not a good idea. Hopefully you will enjoy the other goodies that you have made! Keeping you in my thoughts over this Christmas and sending you lots of love and good vibes! Merry Christmas to you all. It will be good to see this year leave us!!

Ok I need to get a card made for my Gary and then I will just putter around here for the day! Sending everyone love and good cheer! Stay safe and be kind to one another!

Hi everyone. A quick hello. Jen and I are popping out for groceries. Tonight will be appies and desserts and I'll make up the stuffing tonight so it'll be ready for tomorrow. We'll be home tonight on facetime with B and will watch a movie later. Tomorrow J and I will drive over to B's and drop off her gifts and wave at her thru the window. She will facetime with us as she opens her gifts. We'll have a day of food, face timing and tv.

My choc chip gluten free cookies turned out good and the GF snickerdoodles are even better. Today I'll make rice krispie squares.

Gotta go, have a great time at home this holiday. Merry Christmas everyone.

I still have things undone but maybe it won't matter too much. DH and I wrap gifts to each other tonight and then want to sleep quick to be up Christmas morning to open them. This has been our Christmas routine for a very long time.

Chris, you sure were a busy bee yesterday. Seems like you and Trudy each had shopping mix-ups, but you just upped your game to fill in the missing. I know today and tomorrow will be different for you, but it sounds like it will still be good. Hang in there!

Trudy, pretty much the same for you. Enjoy the mimosas and Christmas morning.

Rae, wishing you and all your family a day of peace and sharing even through the window and on face-time.

And hugs and wishes to you all.

Merry Christmas Eve - Having my DH home has so mess up my time. We walk Luther and then lunch and then the day seems to be gone. I have been watching hockey and it is awesome. It is the world juniors and they are in a bubble in Edmonton. It was pre tournament games and the real tournament starts Christmas day. We went shopping one last time in our downtown. Got some really fun things for our kids. Just one gift each. Makes me feel good to shop in my own town. They had masks with the state and then a heart and our town. They are awesome. My DH went shopping and tomorrow we cook. My son is preparing a jerk seasoned smoked turkey. My mouth is watering. Got in a really good walks and Luther is not limping so that is good. It is starting to get really windy and the rain is on the way as the temp is 59 degrees. The rain will probably wash away all of the snow and cause lots of flooding. Of course when we go on the Christmas bird count on Sunday the temperature will be freezing. The walk today saw a tree full of grackles, mallards swimming in the creek, chickadees, a flock of geese flying in a V, and two hawks. Heard blue jays and crows.

Chris wow you were a busy bee. Enjoy today and sending lots of hugs to all your family. You always start these treads and make me smile! I think after this pandemic we really have to meet in person - we live to close to not meet.

Trudy sorry about the oven. I bet you and your main guy have a lovely Christmas. 66 years and never alone for your ILs that is a wonder. Glad that they wore a mask for the visit. Makes me happy to think that you have gotten through that masks are important.

Rae so glad the news on B is so good. Have fun with the face timing and opening gifts. We now have a bakery in town that is Gluten free. We have yet to try but since you have recipes that taste good it might be worth a try.

Kay so glad the cold is winding down. Have fun on Zoom. We are to quarantine too but not sure how it is enforced. Makes me smile to think of you talking to the great grands.

Jean love the card. Gorgeous photo of bird. What a special tradition you and your DH have. Makes me smile to think of you in the morning!

Cheryl have fun moving to the new house!

Felis sending hugs to you and your family! Hope you are eating and enjoying your Christmas Eve feast.

Have a great day!

Merry Christmas, my dears!
I'm feeling awful for not be able to stop here, but will catch all posts later, I promise! We had good Christmas Eve, food was so delicious, my sister has outdone herself. This party was nice and cozy.
But I have to admit that I much overrated this part with the 'Family Christmas'! My parents are big Grinches, and was able to drive me to tears two-three times today. It was nothing at all with the Christmas movies ideal. This family is dysfunctional, harmful, disappointing, BUT still it's mine, I'm so grateful to have it, especial in year like this. Like they said All's well that dinner is well!
I hope you all have lovely Christmas Eve and Christmas day! Don't sorry if it's not exactly as it's traditional! Just makes memories! :partywine:music: ::grouphug
