Happy Weekend to all of you!

So, is it *not* snowing by any of you today? I saw that it is snowing at NancyP's, snowing here which means that it probably is by nancyr. Rae is getting snow tomorrow, which means Trudy is too?

This weather is crazy, right??

I slept until after 8 am this morning. I guess that shot of Nyquil helped but now I am feeling even more behind schedule than I was yesterday. I shopped locally since I was feeling really crummy. I spent an hour and a half at TJ MAXX and I think I am pretty much done. Baskets are all set, and if I need to add "fillers" to get to the right price range, I have plenty of things already made up that I can throw in. Now I need to put them together, make them pretty and wrap 'em up.

My kitchen looks like a confectionary sugar and coffee mug bomb when off in it. That is on my to-do list as well. And :washing::washing::washing:<~ Why is she smiling?? WHY???

I have so much laundry! The kids have been helping put the loads in, but I still need to sort a lot out, fold and put away.

I better get rolling along. Stay warm and dry!!!!

Trudy- That is the PITS!!!! Not only having to come back from vacation but to cold weather too? Ick. That was very nice of your Gary to get the car scraped and warmed up for you. He is a keeper. :)
I am in the same mental state as you but I don't have any leftover vacation vibes as an excuse. hee hee! There is so much happening here at the O and I am feeling lost and I have been here every day. I love baskets of goodies instead of one big gift, it is so much fun to check everything out. Caitlyn asked for sheets as her "big" gift, but I am going to make her big gift a basket full of makeup and F-W's stuff.
Glad to hear that you didn't get sick traveling. I am feeling much better cold-wise today now it is only in my throat and only scratchy at that. I sound much sicker than I feel.
Nanaimo Bars- mmm mmmmm! I made them one year (your recipe IIRC) but they are pretty time-consuming. But darn, they were worth it!
health insurance- I don't know what the heck I am going to do if the Republicans here get rid of the subsidies. My plan (pretty basic at that) for Scott and I only would be over $600 a month. Before the ACA, I had a plan just for me- even more basic than what I have now- was $500+ a month. I am really nervous about what will happen in the upcoming months.
How fun to be baking sugar cookies and watching the snow. How is Heather feeling? Hope that she is not too tired and no morning sickness.

Rae- I have been loving the pictures of Taz in the snow. When I let Jaida out this morning, she was prancing and jumping in it. Ray, not so much. How nice for your DD to have a white Christmas to look forward too. I hope that the rain/melting goes nice and gentle on Monday so no flooding. That happened here on 1996. we had a blizzard with well over 2' of snow and then it was 70* a week later and it melted and fast. We had a couple of feet of water in our basement. I was pg with Scott and couldn't even do a darn thing about it.
Hope everything works out perfect with your computers!!

Good morning, ladies. Will be heading out shortly to get baking supplies and the turkey. There are lots of sales on today for the turkey so I should be able to get one, but I'll go early just in case they start getting picked over. I need a big one b/c it will feed us Xmas Eve and Xmas Day. I've got tons of desk work (the one doc didn't send any on Thurs and then sent it all yesterday) so will be working on that off and on over the wkend when I get a chance. I have one client who keeps putting me off for payment of her session. It's been 3 wks and she keeps cancelling, forgetting, is too busy. I hope she doesn't stiff me for the money b/c I was counting on that money to pay for Xmas dinner. She's a long time client so I am disappointed that she is brushing off like this. Numerous times I have rearranged my schedule, only to not hear from her and she's not home. It's things like this that make me happy I am retiring (or at least semi-retiring from the photog business). People can be so rude.

I'm looking thru the gifts later and figuring out what else I need so I can pop into the mall this week and finish up.

Chris - glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. I hope everything works out with the health insurance. We found out that Darrell's work is now offering a retirement plan for medical so sure hope it'll still be available when it's our time to retire.

Trudy - does the snow look pretty out your way? I am loving it. I don't mind the temps, I am dressing warmly and I much prefer this to the rain, especially now that the roads have been plowed and my driveway is dug out.

I'm off now to write down ingredients for the baking this wkend and will be heading out soon. I know traffic will be crazy today so won't be getting anywhere quickly :) Have a great day, everyone.

Morning ladies... we are off to Costco this morning to pick up a few things, mostly I think hubby wants to do his Christmas shopping there LOL. It will be a mad house I am sure, so not looking forward to it! So another day that I will not be able to get any scrapping done. I really need to do one more calendar page also, because Mason and Isaac have the same birthday month, I usually do a different one for each of them and then I need to print out three more calendars one for us, one for DS and one for MIL and FIL. It shouldn't take to long to get it finished hopefully.

Chris - OMG your costs per month for Health Care is absolutely ridiculous!! There has got to be a better way!! I am pissed off for you my friend!! :rollpin: I am hoping to get my Nanaimo Bars done sometime this weekend and then freeze them until we leave for DS's other wise they will be all gone before we leave :becky: Heather is doing well, but is tired and yes she has been having morning sickness too  Jonah has been very good with her though and helps her out a lot! She saw her doctor the other day and everything is going along well, she got a prescription for the morning sickness one that her doctor took herself for all four of her kids, so hopefully that helps her!!

Rae - I too have been loving the pics of Taz in the snow and even enjoying watching our bad neighbours dogs wrestle around in the snow in the backyard. Man they have lots of energy!! Now if they would just not bark so much that would be awesome! LOL. Sounds like we might very well have a white Christmas, but we really hope it does not snow too bad for the trip up to Comox, not looking forward to the drive if it does!

I hope you all have a fabulous Saturday and that you are doing something that makes you happy today!!

Rae - we cross posted again LOL!! Hope you find the perfect turkey for a great price! We do not have as much snow as you do I don't think lots of grass showing through the white stuff, but yes the colder temps are nicer than the rain, so nice to see the sunshine!

A very happy Sunday to all of you!

I am not sure how much snow we ended up getting, it wasn't bad- maybe about 5" just enough to have to shovel. Scott, Leah, and Caitlyn did that for us. I cleaned the kitchen- it finally looks like its regular chaos. I wrapped two of the three baskets that are due on the 23rd, and I finished the LO that is going to be adapted into a 5x7 for my brother. I feel like I am getting closer to having stuff crossed off the list for good.

Yesterday was Brendan's birthday and he and Cait were going to see the new Star Wars to celebrate. With the roads being bad, they decided to wait on that and he came over for dinner. So it was the 6 of us again. At one point the 4 kids were debating about something ridiculous and I said to Gary, "Look at all of our kids, back together again." haha!

Today is a bit more housework, food shopping prep, and laundry. Hopefully, I will have time to relax and scrap a bit, just for myself.

Hope all of you have a terrific day. ::grouphug

Rae- your days sounded a bit frustrating with work and shopping and your photo session client. I hope that the rest of your day was a bit smoother.
The mall?? Ack! The mall, the week before Christmas?? Are you crazy?? :faint:
JK- some people like to shop at the mall. I used to. Now I can't stand them. I think it is at least a year, maybe 2 since I stepped foot in one.
That would be awesome of the retirement health insurance works out for you and Darrell. Do your employers pay part of health care costs?

Did you do your baking yesterday or is that for today? Have a great time!!

Trudy- Costco is going to be worse than the mall, IMHO! Did you survive ok?
Hope that you got all of your calendars done. I have coupons for 2 free calendars at Shutterfly but I don't think I am going to have a chance to work on them before the end of the year. Hope that you get some time to scrap for yourself today.
Did you get any broken bits of Nanaimo Bars before they went into the freezer?
Glad that heather is doing well aside from the morning sickness. Hopefully, the Rx will help.

Jaida was outside when the kids were shoveling and she was having a blast. Poor Ray. She moped around a bit until I called her back in. I know how she feels.

Good Morning! been awhile since I've visited here to the Daily. Love seeing your sweet faces and posts and hope you are all warm and well. Very chilly here in MO and luckily I'm off today. I work in surgery so guessing the Ortho docs will be busy today after the slick pavement over the past 24 hours.

Have a wonderful day.

Good morning, ladies. It snowing (again) which Taz is loving. He raced out the door 100 mph and was jumping and flying around the yard LOL. Tonight it will turn to rain and then we have 3 days of heavy rain and much warmer temps so all the snow should be gone but it'll be back next wkend, another foot or two over the wkend. Incredibly crazy weather for us here but I am loving it. It reminds me of Ontario where I grew up and we had a lot of snow.

Got a 10 lb turkey for a really good price yesterday. Went to 3 stores to find it.Came home for lunch and then went back out for the afternoon to shop. Got everything I wanted except for gift paper/bags and a few odds and ends. I'm going to the dollar store later to see what xmas gift bags they have and paper. I was at the drugstore yesterday and couldn't believe the prices for paper. On sale, a roll was still $5-6 for just a bit, enough to cover one big or a few small gifts. What a rip-off. I was exhausted by the time I got home andI could barely stay up til 11, then into bed and slept fairly well, only woke up a few times. Bailey is supposed to be coming over at lunch time but haven't heard from her yet. I'm fine with it either way b/c if she can't make it, I'll make some myself. I'll spent some time doing desk work b/c I have tons so the more I can do today the better for tomorrow when I'll get another big dump (and Tues too). I need to check my PC today too b/c it will be brought to our computer guy tomorrow or Tues for repairs/factor reset for Bailey. It'll be weird to not have a computer in my office to scrap on throughout the day when I take mini breaks from my desk job. But that's probably a good thing b/c it'll mean less distraction if I'm not scrapping and can get all that work done.

Chris - sounds like a nice family day yesterday but too bad the kids missed the movie. I want to see that too. Sounds like a busy day for you so hope you get it all done and don't overdo it.

Donna - so nice to see you here! I didn't know you worked in the medical field. I'm a cardiology transcriptionist now but worked in orthopedics yrs ago for the hospital.

Trudy - we're at a higher elevation here so I think we usually get more snow than Vancouver and the island. Yes, I hope the weather doesn't impede your trip to Comox. What day are you leaving? I think it's mostly rain with a bit of snow up until the 24th and then we get a big dump for 3 days. Our coastal weather is unpredictable though, who knows, it could change.

Gotta go hop in the shower and get started on work for the morning. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Morning O-zies... quickly just saying hi and then I have lots to do today, I have to help DH decorate the front porch and lots of :washing: to get done still. Baking shortbread and sugar cookies. Yesterday at Costco it was amazingly quiet??? The cashier said that everyone was in the store yesterday in anticipation of the big dump of snow that we were to get, but doesn't anyone listen to the forecast?? It wasn't supposed to happen until last night and that is exactly what happened!! So DH is shovelling and then he is off to get his haircut and find some filters so he can bottle his red wine. I did manage to get my calendar all finished and now it is off to get printed at Staples. Well gotta go ladies, too many things to do and hopefully one of them will be some scrapping time, but I highly doubt it  Have a great Sunday everyone!!

Yesterday was our Christmas Bird Count when we spend most of the morning walking and counting birds. Afternoon we scout by car and walk some areas. The forecast for morning was freezing rain on top of some snow and it sounded horrible. Also birds aren't active in such conditions. Instead we had the above freezing temps and much of the time such light rain that we really didn't care and the birds were very active. So we were happy birders. Of course it wears me out and I had a long sleep last night. Today TV football for DH and dinner at home. I have things to do for Christmas on the computer, so still need to be busy.

Chris, how funny that it seems like all four are your "kids." Bet Brendan had a nice birthday with the movie to look forward to another day.

Donna, nice to see you here. I'm sure it is very cold there so a good day to stay in.

Rae you are one busy lady. I really admire your energy as well as how organized you seem.

Trudy, you're busy today too. How nice that people didn't pay enough attention to detail and you weren't crowded at Costco.

Hope Nancy is having fun in Ottawa!
