What a bizarre day I had. Things that I wanted to get done, either never happened or took longer than I expected. The biggest disappointment was that I never heard back about going to the Sanctuary for Leah's gift. After looking online at the Animal Rescue site and then Amazon and some other animal organization sites, I couldn't find anything that I thought that she would like. The few things that I did find wouldn't get here in time for Christmas. I eventually found a cute tank top and went to Zazzle and made a similar design. They had 25% off and half price expedited shipping so that is good. And if she doesn't wear it, hey I tried my best.

No wrapping got done but I did get an appt for my hair cut. She said the only thing that would even out the color is to dye it back brown and I can't do that. I look horrible with brown hair. I will have a few inches cut off and she said that would even out the tone a bit.

More good things are that 2 more baskets are wrapped and ready to go and that leaves me with only 2 left.

I am really looking forward to today- Cait and I are doing our baking and we always have a great time with that.

I have to take W back outside, and of course, we have more snow. it is going to be a long winter with her LOL

Back for personals soon! xo

Good morning girls,
I'll be very quick today because, I had very creative night, got inspiration and scraped few pages. After that I'm sleep the whole morning and now have much to do. I don't sorry at all! 12 Days is so much fun. I'm only afraid that I shared my best memories this time and nothing wouldn't left me for the next year.
Now I have to be very organized, which is just not me, so better to go.

Chris, have a fun in baking today! I hope that Leah will like this tank top!Sounds like you'll have a busy day, but have a fun too!

Rae, this Xmas train sounds so cool. I hope you go to see it! I always promise to do things like that, but after that I don't do it. Have fun to the Xmas party!

Jean, fingers crossed books to have enough time to be there for Christmas!

Trudy, yey the BIG day is here! Hope now you can take a rest and just enjoy to your family!

Nancy, the cruise to Alaska this summer sounds awesome! You will made awesome pics! But who will take care for Luther at this time?! Oh and, Your pages are so adorable, it's such a pleasure to watch them!

Have a lovely weekend you all! :music:

Man, all she wanted to was eat snow. it is too darn could to be out for that ;)

Felis- how nice that the capital trip was better this time around and that the weather was warm and that no one got lost. Even better to get some books!
That is too funny that your mom is the same as mine. She wrote down "Reptile Hide, Medium" and I was supposed to be able to figure out which one of 1000's on Amazon was the right one.
I like to use gifts bags as well, esp since I can reuse them over and over. But some gifts seem to do better in boxes- especially ones that might have food smells and the dogs will try to get them.

Rae- I am so sorry that I missed the sad news about your Aunt. I like to think that too- that family is all reunited.

Nancy- it works out well that Luther is tuckered out while you are at the games. Did they win?
The family gift sounds amazing and the gift cards are perfect. Did I tell you my ILs are also going on a cruise to Alaska this year? Not me- if I was to be able to go on a cruise, it would somewhere warm!! But to be with family like that-- priceless. :)

Trudy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you that today is the DAY!!!!!! Tell your kids how happy we are to know that you are all together.

Jean- how exciting to have the book ready to print and it is going to look great in hardcover. So darn proud of you! And I think that it is the perfect family gift. You rock!!

Rae- again, I have to say how gorgeous you look! Were you able to get everything accomplished that you needed to do? You will have such a nice time baking with Jen. I am trying to find a cookie recipe that doesn't have nuts since Christopher is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. I asked my brother if he could have coconut because some Drs say they fall into the category of tree nuts and others don't, I didn't want to take a chance. We might just do sugar cookies for him.
Glad that DH is feeling better too.

I am off to the Gallery- so many beautiful LOs!

WOW good late morning almost noon. Got up at 8am so it was a great sleep. Took Luther to the park and he had a great time meeting doggies and just running in the new snow we got last evening. It was only about an inch or two but OH my it is so pretty. We were out over an hour. The temp was in upper 20s so it was pretty comfortable. Well last night was pretty fun. My Devils defeat the Star 5-2. And it was a pretty nasty game. Getting to the game was crazy. One of our hockey friends was going to ride with us so we told her we leave at 6pm. The snow started about 4:30pm and well rush hour traffic was crazy. By 6:30 she still was not there so 4 of us left. My DIL waited. We did not get into the Rock for the start of the game in fact we missed the first two goals one by us and then they tied. Well one of their players took a penalty and did not like it so told my player he dived. Well it was Brian Boyle and he did not care for that. Well he scored and said some choice words to the defenseman and wow it got heated and he ended up with a 10 min misconduct (and it was very deserving) but it got my team going. My DIL and her friend did not make it to the Rock until the last 3 min of the first period. One of my son's longest friends came to the game too and he and his 5 year old son sat with us. It was so fun to watch him be so excited. So it was a great day. Luther had a great time at doggie day care. And was still zonked out when I came home. Today was to be a signing by Miles Wood but the poor kid was hit in the mouth again with a high stick so he is at the dentist. Now this weekend is great as my team does not play until Monday. The Ottawa Senators and the Montreal Canadiens will be playing at game outdoors in the cold in Ottawa tonight. It is so cool to know that I have been there and seen Parliament Hill.

Chris as they say the best laid plans - but it sounds like today will be filled with great smells. Have fun with Cait. Hope Wisky has fun in the snow.

Felis congrats on scrapping. Good luck with organizing. Luther will be boarded at his doggie day care. They are super nice and they know him. He will be playing with other dogs so hopefully he will not be missing us too much. We will be missing him a lot.

Trudy congrats on the day finally arriving! Have a great time with the family.

Rae how fun it is to take a decorated train at Christmas. Have fun baking with Jen.

Jean hope you share a photo of the book!

Have a great day all!

Today was our Christmas Bird Count, so we were busy with that. It felt like we saw lots of birds, but nothing unexpected. We have a few inches of snow but we were in the mid to uppers 30s and it never really got into rain or snow. We are very tired from it and DH is napping.

BUT...last night I got an email that the books were ready. Of course I had to wait until we finished with the count, but we went and got them and, oh, I think they look fabulous! The binding isn't the very best quality, but I knew that when I picked it. Since they probably won't be over used, it should be just fine. Boy am I happy. They'll go in the mail Monday and should be able to arrive for Christmas without a problem (but a little pricey maybe). There will be photos, but I'm too zonked right now to think about it.

Chris, I'm sure you and Cait had a grand time baking today. Wish I could be sampling the goodies.

Felis, you know my scrapping organization has gone away, I'm not sure how many weeks I owe - maybe 4? So glad you did the scrapping even if you now need organizing.

Nancy, I saw the Devils won, but what a crazy game that must have been along with the crazy traffic. I'm seeing super LOs of yours in the gallery, so I know you got around to that.

Rae, hope your weekend is going well. So good that D got better quickly.

Trudy, you may not see the forum for a while, but we are all so happy for you that today finally arrived.

Just a quick hello. I’ve had a busy day and got lots done. We’re heading out to a Xmas party soon and hope to get home to bed at a decent time because tomorrow will be busy with baking, wrapping and a bit more shopping before heading out to see the train if it doesn’t rain and we can find parking. They expect problems with parking as the rec center parking lot is closed for renos.

Chris...I bet that C will like the gift. Hope you will feel better when u get the trim. A haircut can sure make u feel good!

Nancy - I sure wish we’d get some snow but nothing forecasted over the rest of the year.

Felis - sounds like you’ve had fun scrapping. I have no time this wkend but soon I hope.

Jean - how proud you must be of the books! I bet the Christmas bird count was fun!

I’d better go get ready to go to our party. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning girls, :smow:
the snow is here just a inch, but it's a good beginning.
Today is the final of the reality show that we watch, so it's exciting night. It's a similar to Big Brother, but the participants build a farm and care for the animals. The weekend battles are for skills like milking cow, splitting wood, the fast forging and etc.
My mom want me to go out, but she still is not ready, so quick personal.

Hi Chris, we're here together again :choclove . Hope you have a good day!

Nancy, hope you had fun watching the outdoors game and you not freeze to much! I saw your #meto page I'm not read it yet (will do it later, because the alphas are small), but SO sorry for whath is happen to you, you are so strong!

Jean, Christmas Bird Count, sounds interesting. I'm not sure how many weeks you have to do, but in one moment I was afraid that I never wouldn't do mine. I'm proud with myself this weekend, but definitely wouldn't make it at the same way for the next year. I'll try the original prompts project and will away it little from the daily ones.

Rae, finger crossed to see the train and have fun with baking! Just keep keep an eye on Taz :) with all these good smells, my big dog eat practically everything, so cookies too, but he don't have any allergies.

Trudy, I often think for you and your Christmas story bring me smile. Have a fun, girl!

Have a lovely day all!

Oh. My.
I am so tired! Caitlyn and I baked from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm and made around 25 dozen cookies. Only two kinds but the pain in the but ones where it takes forever to make. We had fun though, listening to our music and chatting, and being generally goofy. That makes it worthwhile. Not to mention these cookies are to die for (in my not so humble opinion LOL). We made Walnut Cups (Tassies) and Walnut Balls (tea cakes).

Today *has to be* a quiet one for me, I am overdoing it and I don't want to destroy myself before the holidays. I have to clean my kitchen first and get the last batch of cookies in the freezer. Laundry, bills, coupons, and menu for the week and for Christmas.
I have a couple of more items that I need to order and pray that they get here in time. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.or close enough to it.

I hope to get a lot of that accomplished this morning so maybe I can play around here for the party. I have been MIA all year, I think. :(

I am going to wrap this up and go from there!

xoxoxo!!!

The last minute order is now placed for Cait so she is done. Now I need a couple of more things for Scott and Gary...

Felis-I am so happy that you had a creative time scrapping!
You still have coffee on? I will take some :cof3:

Nancy- pffffttttt!!!!! Stop with how pretty the snow is! :lalala: JK! I am happy for you and Luther having fun out in it.
Smart of you to head out when you did for the game- how cute to see the 5 yo having so much fun

Jean- we stayed mostly below freezing but it wasn't as bad as it had been mid-week, and yippeeee, we might get back to 40 in a few days.
That must be the best feeling holding a book that you wrote and researched in your hands. That will be a treasured gift for sure.

Rae- how was the party? hope that you and Jen have as much fun baking as Cait and I did!

Trudy- I know you must be brimming with kids and joy!!! Hugs to the family!!!!

good morning - yesterday was so so fun! We got Luther out twice and boy was he happy. The night time walk was awesome because it was such fun to see the all the home brightly decorated. Got all caught up on my Dec project while watching hockey games. The Outdoor game was in Canada and it was 12 F and I was glad I was watching it from my warm house. My youngest son took his SIL to an Ugly Sweater Party. Believe me this is so surprising as they really did not like each other but he came home and he had a really fun time. I am so glad that they are getting along so much better. I guess they really do grow up and mature. Today is just relax as my son decided to take Luther out for his walk. That is so nice.

Chris wow that is a lot of cookies. Congrats on that baking fete. I bet you and Cait had such fun. Now also comes the fun part eating them and sharing them!

Felis thanks for the comment on #metoo. Glad that you got your snow. Awesome! Your show sounds so interesting. Have fun watching the finale!

Rae hope you party went well! Cant wait to hear how the train was. I love trains even commuter trains. LOL

Jean congrats on getting the books. That is so so fantastic. We have our having our Christmas bird count next Sat. Hope we see a lot of birds.

Have a great day all.

Trudy we are happy for you and bet you are super busy!

Good morning, ladies. Had a great time at the xmas party last night. We played a loonie toss game and I won one of the rounds so rec'd a $25 amazon gift card. D won the final big round for the grand prize, 2 tickets to a Canucks game at the end of Jan (I think they play Calgary). He's so excited. He hasn't been to a game in years. I'll go if he wants but since I'm not really into sports, I suggested bring a friend instead. Either way, he's going to have so much fun. D's boss has a gorgeous home and he used to be a chef so the food was amazing. Some of his recipes were created from the Gordon Ramsay blog. I couldn't eat a lot of it but did indulge in some. My fave was the crab cake with a swirled sirracha sauce overtop. I had a few glasses of wine and even had a few small desserts. Of course, I paid the price for it overnight, as I woke up 6-7 times with stomach pain and a headache but this morning I seem to be ok. Good thing I didn't over-indulge too much on flour/sugar stuff. His boss' wife said they have never had family portraits taken so I offered to take some photos in the new year of them and he can make us dinner. I didn't expect to like them so much but I really do so am looking forward to seeing them again soon. They will probably transfer over the next few yrs and move back to Ontario or East coast (where their family is) so I'd love to give them a gift of photos while they live here.

So I'm off to the grocery store to get the last of the ingredients for baking this afternoon with Jen. I hope my back holds up. It was bothering me yesterday afternoon, before we went to the party, but then after glasses of wine it didn't bother me...gee...wonder why LOL.

My back is bothering me quite a bit this morning so hopefully I can shake it off as the day goes on. I sat in a straight kitchen chair for awhile and finished "Marriage Pact" and my back felt better after sitting up like that so will balance out standing and sitting down throughout the day. I'm sure I'll be fine but it sure is frustrating when this happens (always at the most inopportune time of course).

Chris - wow...thats a lot of baking. I'm not so organized in the kitchen when baking so we won't get anywhere near that amount done today.

Felis - that show sounds so interesting (we watch Big Brother US and Canadian versions) and yours sounds so much more interesting with the farm life.

Nancy - how great that your son and DIL are getting along better. Sometimes family dynamics can be so challenging.

I'm sure Trudy is in heaven with her family right now.

Everyone else - hope its a good day.

I'm getting dressed and getting out of here to run my erands.

Today is TV football and getting things ready to mail tomorrow. I'm still not up to speed yet, but have to get going. Got sidetracked a little last night, inspired by Felis posting new weekly LOs, I put together the photos from week 47 (includes Thanksgiving!) but still needs journaling - that will have to wait. But after tomorrow I hope to have more time.

Felis, hope you have a great day. So nice that you've been scrapping, even getting weeklies done. That show sounds fun to watch. Enjoy the last one.

Chris, love the photo of Cait and the butter. Can't imagine it felt good even though it was not refrigerator cold. You two must have been amazing baking so many cookies. And what fun. Yes, please, slow down today!

Nancy, nice having son walk Luther. Enjoy your day. Will think of you out counting next Saturday.

Rae, hope the back feels better and the baking goes well.

Cheers to all!
