The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
happy Weekend!! Oh thank goodness for Saturday! I am feeling a lot better today than I was yesterday. I got home from work around 12;30 and crashed- slept for 2 hours..... that is so not like me, but It had to be done. I wasn't able to go to Caitlyn's 4-H Dinner, but she was fine with that. Not to mention, we all agreed it was much more important that I feel better for tonight.
We (kids and I) are going to my brother's tonight, we are going to do our Christmas dinner/movies with my baby!!! Soooo excited!!! Then we might go go Turtleback Zoo and see the Christmas Lights. We are sleeping over and will babysit that adorable little one so my brother and SIL can get stuff done with free hands tomorrow.

And the bestestest news ever-- Its 100% official! The hearing was yesterday for them to be legally parents instead of "guardians." Its the last step in making the adoption a done deal. Even though no one expected any problems, its a huge sigh of relief that is all over, he is ours! Yeah, yeah... he is my brother's... not mine..... ;/
No way!! he IS mine!! LOL LOL

What fun/busy plans do all of you have this weekend? Hope it is a fun/relaxing one, no matter what you do.

Hi Donna! Seriously, what is up with how fast the days go? Do all of you remember when we were little and December was..like...*forever?" It's already the 10th! 2weeks to go, and I am totally not ready. ;)

we actually do have different "days" in the Daily Ooo's and I try to keep up with the, on occasion. :p This is the list from the Daily Ooo's explained Thread:

We do have some special abbreviations for things we do on certain days. So far these are as follows:
MMM - Me Me Monday - What can you do for yourself today? Bubble bath, manicure, go shopping, read a good book, scrap etc.

TfT - Tip for Tuesday- Any tips you wish to share. How to do something in Photoshop, a great recipe, how to sooth an upset child etc.

WWW - Wishes and Wants on Wednesdays - basically anything you wish you could do/get done/dreams/etc - "I wish the laundry faery would come do my laundry" and things that you actually want to make happen that day - "I want to finish the laundry"

ToT - Temptations on Thursday - "I'm tempted to stay in bed all day..." "I'm tempted by Vicki's rawkin' new kit in the store..." etc.

FiF - Finish it Friday - Things you hope to finish up. A project you started, a layout, a procrastinated chore etc.
Anyone is free to post what they want to share:)

Phyllis- isn't Sally the best? I want to kidnap her too!next time she is in NJ, I am stealing her.

Hugs to you and your G-son, is he feeling any better? Any new news?

Hi Maureen! ugh about the hospital, but I hear ya, 20% on surgery/hospital care would be way worse.

Trudy- it got so cold so quickly here too, we are finally getting normal Dec. temps. I wish it was back in the 60's again like we had last week.
I am taking my deep breaths, are you?

Eva- at least you are multi-tasking in front of the TV- my idea of multitasking and tv is with food.:preggers;

Maureen- re: your advice on pacing myself- Would you believe I am actually better about it now than I used to be? Can you imagine me worse than I am now? Scary, right!!?? Maybe I just need more aging hahaha! looking fwd to seeing your memory pages in the Gallery :)

J- oh I am incredibly thrilled to hear that Fritzie is doing better!!! Give him a belly rub from me.

laurie- that sounds like it was a perfect end to a busy week.

Amber- welcome back State-Side!! Hope that the jet lag ends soon.

xoxo to everyone!

Good Morning Chris... you are up early! Me too darn Cat doesn't know that its the weekend :frusty: He just wants his routine and his food. So its a good time to get some catching up done on the computer, I am still working on calendars, but they are going more quickly now so hope to have them all finished this weekend. Off to Costco later today and doing a bit of shopping. I am not looking forward to the Christmas crowds!! :mmph: But I do enjoy listening to the Christmas music in the stores!!

Chirs - How wonderful that your baby is now officially yours opps... I mean your brother's or is it yours?? LOL Have a great day with him and enjoy the movies!!

Maureen - You asked what kind of store I work in, It's a Home Hardware Store, I used to work in the Bank but after DD got sick I stayed home with her for 10 yrs before heading back out to the workforce. Some days I really wish I hadn't , but I have made some wonderful friends and it keeps my mind busy and my hubby happy LOL. I made a page about it shortly after starting back to work here it is...

Phylis - I am thinking of you so much today!! Still sending loads of good wishes your way and hoping for the best for you and your Grandman!!

Well off to the gallery to soak up some inspiration, hope you all have a great weekend!!

well. the sun is shining. this is a VERY good thing.

Chris, tripleYAY on the adoption proceedings. as an adoptive mom and Godmother to an adopted kiddo, i can relate to every step of this wild ride. the 100% legal is the best Christmas gift ever!

i think there will be some building of IKEA furniture for my sweet daughter this afternoon. which usually also means a lot of swearing by my husband. i will take photi and be amused by the whole thing. i still have a page brewing in my head around the story of the construction (by my husband) of my daughter's giant wardrobe from IKEA. it includes DANGER! :eek2: HEARTACHE!:hurt: LOTS OF SWEARING! :yell:

happy weekend, everyone!

It's just to follow the instructions ... anyone can assemble IKEA furniture. :p :eyebrows:
(happy I live far from your DH :D)

Hey all...not a great day for me but I'll get to that later.

Chris, that must have been one of the biggest sighs of relief regarding the adoption. Ours was easy but that was overseas, and long ago. We have friends with a Chinese daughter and it's still in the limbo state.

Trudy, thanks for letting us newbies see that gorgeous page. Somehow I thought you worked in a kitchen store, but perhaps that was wishful thinking. LOL. Yes, it is good to be out of the house at times. I do know.

Phylis, Dick doesn't 'get' Ikea directions and while I 'do' I let him work it out. I step in when he frustration level gets high. Together we always get it done. But he likes doing 'the man thing' so I let him fuss as long as I can take it.

Amber, that IS one long flight but so nice to have a family visit. Hope you can catch up on some sleep.

And me??? well last night my hip started to really ache and I couldn't get settled in bed, so at midnight I came down to the lr sofabed. Still couldn't get comfortable or sleep longer than 2 hrs stretches. Later this am, walking back up the stairs I got a shot of terrific pain across my hip that took my breath away, and I started to faint. Keeping myself from fainting was hard but I managed, and got myself up and onto a chair.

When Dick cam back from breakfast out, he insisted that "I" go to the emergency room, where they seemed to think it was sciatica (but it never went down my leg, and is def in my upper hip....but what do I know). Blood work, c-t scan, and muscle relaxant shot. I had my first, and god willing only, percoset. I know enough recovering addicts who loved the things :( but it made me queasy, dopey and basically ucky feeling. I did sleep for about 4 hrs today so it did its job. I still have a headache, but hope that will fade overnight.

So what about Dick's surgery Tuesday? That may be rescheduled for a slightly later date. So much if this, then that. Damn good thing we weren't in Germany for any of this. Home is best for feeling better, and knowing that tomorrow, godwilling, I'll be sleeping in my own bed, not on the sofa bed. Maybe... Well, I'm fading away again, and sleep sounds really good.

Oh Maureen!!!! I hope that you are feeling better!! Did they ever tell u what they thought it was??

Oh no Maureen!!!!!! Let us know how you are doing in the Morning....hoping it is much better and you don't have another attack.

Happy weekend ladies.............................

Maureen I am sorry you are being down and out with this....my husband has had it several times and I had it once....NO FUN!!! (((HUGS)))

Chris....glad you are feeling better my sweet friend

Trudy...my sister....love that page!!! and I feel your pain on the shopping..I went yesterday too!!

Phylis.....why that page sounds like it could be about ME AND MY DH putting something together like that :pound:

Eva.....it's beautiful......................in a picture :spit: I am hoping we don't see any this year....so far so good!!

Hi Fran!!!!

I finally got a chunk of Christmas shopping done yesterday.....that felt good to get it behind me....I am usually pretty much done by now!!!

Things have been really downhill with my daughter again and that has just had me in NO MOOD to shop or anything else....I keep saying I am going to start decorating for Christmas...and just keep putting it off.....but I have to think of the kids.....so I am going to the attic today....I REALLY AM!!!

RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT...I am looking out of my front window and see the mountains in the background and the entire mountain top line has the gorgeous orange glow!!!! I never get to see sunsets...but I do enjoy the sunrise!!!

OKAY..........................................off to get coffee!!!!!! ANYONE WANT TO JOIN ME?? :tea:

Eva, I had to laugh...there is no doubt you can still tell it's magazines or catalogs but hey...free and relatively easy, especially when done by school age children. You could always get a can of spray paint and glitz it up!

I had a very good night's sleep and woke up pretty much back to normal feeling. I did a bunch of JinShinyutsu on myself which also helped. In JSJ, pain in that part of the upper hip is usually described as 'a pain in the ass'. What in your life feels like a "pita"? Well, that getting to the hospital so frickin' early has been for me, but there wasn't much to do. My head was accepting it but my body sure wasn't.

I saw a friend of mine who is a JSJ practitioner and a Divinity School grad, and a wonderful flaky CAb-born artist - quite a combo eh? at the ERoom. She is a weekend Patient Advocate for Critical Care (end of life stuff) and we had a laugh when we left Dick to go back and get my meds. When I said again where the pain was...we both burst out..pain in the ass! She got it too and didn't need to remind me that so much of what we endure comes from attitude. Mine needed changing and that pain got it.

The hospital described it as sciatica but I do not, and never had pain down the leg or even in the lower back. My pain went across horizontally. I do have calcification on the arthritis in my hip and do need to go back to my lower back exercises for flexibility - both body and attitude.

Sitting all day at the computer does get scrapping done but the price was high. Gotta set my timer again as I used to do and get up to do some standing, walking, moving etc for 15 minutes.

Hope all of you have a peaceful and relatively calm Sunday. Enjoy the season!

Maureen... so glad to hear that you and your pain in the ass are doing better!! LOL doesn't sound like sciatica to me either. I often have to remind myself to get up from the computer or my joints start to really ache....getting older really sucks!! You were hoping I worked in a kitchen store...well I kinda do we sell a lot of kitchen things we have many Paderno Sales and our housewares section is huge!! People come from out of town to get things from our store, because no one else has the selection. I'm afraid a good portion of my pay stays at the store LOL.

Linda - Sweet sister, sorry to hear that things have gotten worse for you and your DH! I hope that this will not ruin your Christmas, you should have a lot of fun with all your grandbabies, that is what makes Christmas so special, children and the smiles on their faces!! I would love to join you for a cuppa :tea: and be a shoulder to lean on!! to you my friend!!

Tree is going up at my house today, It's also my son's 33rd birthday, wishing I could be with him to celebrate, but I guess facetime will have to do.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!

Hey kiddos!! I'm popping in before I have to get ready for our last Christmas Jazz concert with the band. Our new CDs came out Friday! It'll be next week before they come out digitally. I can't wait to share with you!! So tonight think of me crooning...especially "Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas"...I'm no Judy Garland, but I can fake a great Michael Buble!! LOL!!!

btw, I fell asleep this afternoon on the couch during the second half of the Texans game and woke up with 2.5 minutes to go and they pulled it out!!! it was AMAZING!!! a touchdown pass in the last 2 seconds won the game for the Texans AND put them in the playoffs for the first time in franchise history!! omgoodness!! Even if you are not a football fan, this is exciting...and those of us that are really really huge football fans here in Houston...ohhhh myyyyyyy...it's exciting!!!! :)

Praying for everyone to have a GREAT week this week!! I"ll be back in tomorrow to spread good cheer!! Love you all!!
