The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
If you look at the time stamp and wonder WTH is Faery doing up this early, I don't blame you. I am wondering that myself.

5 am.
Yes, 5 am. On a Saturday.

Its not fair!

I woke up at 5, and immediately started thinking about all of the crap I have to do today. Why does December have to be so stressful? I know that it shouldn't be but its just so overwhelming.

Today we are putting up the tree and decorating but it has to be done by 3pm. The kids were adamant that the decorating must be the same as everyt year and it be just the 4 of us. No SO's. But before we can start I have to do Mom's Taxi Service and drop one friend off at home and pick a kid up from a friend's at 10 am. Tomorrow, Cait and I are starting baking, but i have to be done by 3 pm so I can bring Scott's GF home(she lives 45 mins away so her mom and I alternate driving)

No time tables or nuthin, just Christmas joy. :pound:

Yesterday I was a maniac. haha. I was so tired before work that I took a half of a Provigil (aka Zippy Pill). Thank goodness, b/c I don't think I stopped moving until 7pm. Then I couldn't move any more.
As I was out cleaning, my client had her boys' Elf on a Shelf out on the entertainment center. I decided to mess with it. I took their Elf (don't know his name yet-- I know that my other clients Elf is "Heather" LOL) and little stuffed skeleton, put them on the table building legos. I think that the Elf idea is really cute (within reason, some of the tricks I see on FB over over the top! gah!). Anyway, I figured that if I don't have an elf of my own, I could at least play with other people's elves.

Oh my. That sounds sooo bizarre.

:fear:

Then after I got home I cleaned and vacuumed here, then had to pick up some kids friends. Then dinner (WOOT!! I am 4 for 4!!). Roast chicken, stuffing, potatoes, and homemade dinner rolls and homemade gravy.
My kids were appalled that at T-Day there was no bread. And my mom didn't bring here stuffing which is very different from MIL's. And since Gary wasn't with us, I guess this was my attempt at a semi-T-day dinner.

What was I thinking?

So besides the fact that I am slowly going insane, that Christmas will be here before I know it or will be ready for it....... what else is happening this weekend??

Hope you all have a great one!!

xoxo

Chris, your dinner sounds awesome. Yum, yum!

On the rat race track here this weekend. Brian keeps reminding me to breathe...that everything gets done and that many of the things I stress about are just my timetable...no one else's.

Sydney's soccer starts at 8. At breakfast yesterday she told me that she couldn't take it any longer...she never gets to rest at home. However, she didn't want to give up soccer or basketball to rest. I told her that this is just the way of the world. :-(

Be back in later today to complain...I mean to check in!

Morning O fam- have I ever told you my husband has a SAnta thing- I came home to the tree up, not decorated and a Santa in almost every room- two in the living room- the giant lifesized singing one seems to be missing it's plug to make it sing and dance (I think I threw it out cleaning the closet as I didn't know what it went to) and one on the couch! I think we have rediscovered the holiday spirit for empty nesters- kind of nice actually. So today, off to dance lessons and home to decorate the tree! Oh and I talked MMG into letting me order the silhouette cutting machine for my Christmas gift and even said I won't open the box till Christmas- what was I thinking??

Chris, i was up at 5:15.fun, isn't it??? i even went to hed a midnight, just in case i would be tired and sleep later. nope. :hurt: your schedule sounds mad, my dear, but you are absolutely batting a thousand with dinner!

my house is decorated, my gifts are bought and mailed, where necessary. my cards are made and mailed. what the heck is going ON with me this year??

i found a flea on my inside cat the other day. trying to figure out HOW an inside cat gets fleas. i blame the firewood. that's the only thing i cam think of. so now i'm a vacuuming fool. bugs are a major ICK factor to me. i keep feeling like now there must be OTHER fleas around the place. damn.

Laurie, i have a bit of a Santa fixation myself, but mine are a lot smaller than yours are! if it was up to my hubby, we wouldn't even decorate. do you have a link for that silhouette cutting machine? i want to see what it is!!

Linda, i think Sydney had the right idea...at least about fitting some rest a home in! now you guys need to figure out how to do that with all those sporting events! that sounds like a challenge! i really admire your ENERGY!

well, off to vacuum some more. have a great weekend, O-zies!

Morning ladies, I am up early too, not 5am but 6am still too early for the weekend. MG and myself are off to the Big City today to get our shopping done and stock up on some Costco Items. I really just wanted to shop online this year, but MG likes to physically see what he's buying. So off we go to fight the crowds :mmph:

Chris - Try not to stress so much about Christmas!! It will all get done, one day at a time. Just make your list and try to cross one or two things off of it a day. Breathe!!!

Laurie - How nice that your MG likes to decorate, mine is like Phylis and would rather just forget about Christmas!! I have a thing for Snowmen and try to have as many as I can in my house at Christmas, Santa runs a close second though.

LindaS - Good luck in finding more rest time for your sweet Sydney!! It is great that they are so involved with all the sports!! It is amazing how you keep up!! Wish those days were back for me again, I miss my kids being younger! Enjoy each and every exhausting moment !!

Phylis - Can you come to my house and get my presents wrapped and put in the mail? Oh yeah my cards are not done yet either LOL

Not looking forward to this shopping day, its pouring :rain: and the Malahat is such a winding road up and over the mountain. Its really windy today too. Wish me luck!

Met my sister today! So nice to see her. She has a very hard time talking - doesn't stop her though LOL She brought yarn - she wants me to knit her a hat. Did a pattern search at Ravelry, and found the most amazing hat with the right gauge. I hope she likes it to - sent her the link - I think it would be fun to knit it. Check it out:

Dad was very tired and had to go to sleep :( Worst part is to see how disheartened he is. He hates getting old, and hates the stroller he needs. This is a man who his whole life have been able to do everything himself. It feels like he's given up. Really I don't blame him - but it's sad to see.

I feel ok though. I'm trying to stay positive ... you all know how easy that is LOL

Oh, and I'm struggling with temptation today. Got a newsletter for a special price on a Canon EOS 1100D - only 2990 SEK (approx. $450) - and then Photoshop Elements 11 is included. Since I have a Canon Cybershop G7 + PSE 6, we're talking about a double upgrade LOL But I just ordered a new printer and EHD. DH says go for it - we can afford it ... but I'm not sure. We can't spend all the money on me ... I'm not worth that!

Trudy. ok. now i have to Google the Malahat and see if i can get some street view! "up and over the mountains" sounds beautiful!

Eva...that hat is stunning! LOVE it! I can't knit any better than I sew. I do the knit stitch and purl and that is it! And I can't even keep track of how many of those that I have done! Now, if they ever invent digital sewing, I'll be all over it!

Laurie, I am so jealous of that Silhouette Cameo. Here Phylis...I googled yesterday. Take a look at this.

Trudy, hope you get much accomplished with your shopping! Hope that I do the same...but right here in front of the computer. We may make a trip out a bit later.

Brian and the kids are in the basement exercising. I should be. But instead, I'm enjoying a little bit of me time here in the office.

Thanks for sharing the link Linda- busy today with dance lessons and basement work. We were going to go for an overnight dance event near Lake Erie and it was canceled due to lack of interest. We are going to have friend over in the not yet finished basement, so we are trying to get much done. I also have to empty the last of the basement crap from my son's bedroom so we can put our bed in there and get a new one before the weekend of the 22nd. Yikes- overload!!

Ooops ... I just ordered it ...

Merry Christmas to you Eva! I kind of said to my husband- hey I want this silhouette craft thing and I can get it 40 % off and I need to know if I should hit the buy button? He laughed and then about 30 min later said- did you order it? I have been shaking my head yes. I am listening to Christmas music and making my cards before church this morning. After church a trip to lowes for basement stuff. I also discovered I can now with the work change over work on paperwork from my home computer- no more lugging! Yeah- boo that I can cause it means I can and likely will bring paperwork home on the weekends. BAck to card making

haHAAAAA!!!! YAY, Eva!! i always thought you were worth it! looks like a great camera.

Linda, thanks for that link. why oh WHY is there yet another thing that i ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE!!!?? technology amazes me. the thing cutting fonts just blew me away. Laurie, you'll have to let us know how the thing is working for you and show us what you make!

today? hmmmm. wait around for the Grandmen and family to SKYPE me. do some ironing. do some cleaning. make a page. hopefully.

have a restful Sunday. remember, that's what it's supposed to be FOR!

GoooOd morning! Todays 6 am wake-up time was a bit better than yesterdays. Still not long enough. I was beat down to the ground by 3 pm yesterday, but still had tons of crap to do.

We did get our tree up. OMG-- this poor thing is ancient. It was my IL's until they decided to not use it any more and we took it since our tree had fallen apart. This one drops needles thicker than a 2 month old real tree. I almost wanted to pull out wire cutters yesterday to clip off the naked ends. But have you seen the prices of new artificial trees? Gah!! Not in the budget at all.

But it is up, and with all of the ornies and lights it looks pretty. My tree is a mish-mash of ornies from over the years, almost all of them have memories attached. I even remember the ones from the kids I used to teach, 20 years ago. My kids first christmas photos. Love them all! :)

Today Cait and I are baking, 10 dozen Walnut Cups. Lots of people call them Nut Tassies? When I was younger, my brother swore that they had apple in them and he has called them Apple Cookies for the past 30 years. They take forever to make but are so worth it. Tomorrow, I;ll probably try to bang out a few batches of bar cookies.

I need to get a small gift for Cait's BF- if he drinks coffee/tea, I'll get him a mug and fill it with cookies. What teenage boy can't use cookies?
I wish I knew what to do for Scott's GF..... ahhhhhh, there I go again. I get into that loop of What to get, what to get...... I did find a cute bar of tie-die soap on Etsy that I ordered yesterday. It might go to Scott or to Leah- its very cute and not something I would be able to make myself.

Well, I am rambling which means I need to get off of my a** and move on to my next project...... but I think I need another cuppa first!

Oh yay for coffee!! happy happy!!!

Linda S-- I am with ya!! And I don't have the crazy schedules with my kids that you have. I really don't know how you do it. But *deeeeep breath* We got this!

Laurie- how sweet and adorable of YMG! What a nice surprise. And congrats on the Silhouette. Is it like a Cricut?

Hope did you do this morning Phyllis? Later than yesterday? Hope so! I made a vegetarian lasagna last night for dinner and Scott's friends gobbled it up. Cait picked out some of the broccoli and ate that so I really am on a roll. Tonight is leftover and tomorrow is Turkey Tacos. whew!! One less stress ATM!
You sound ready the the holidays! (any chance ya want to come to NJ and help me here?? LOL)
Hope those fleas stay away. ick!

Trudy, did you survive the shopping trip? Hope so! I cannot go to any stores on the weekend this time of year. I don't handle crowds well at all. Lyme/fibro really messes with my senses and its almost painful to be around lots of noise and commotion. But hope that your day went well!!

Eva- Oh that hat is *darling* I am sure she is going to love it! I wish you lived here so you could teach me how to knit! That must be so hard on your dad. I know how hard it is on Gary to feel miserable and limited all of the time.
Get the CAMERA NOW!!!!!! You totally deserve it!!!

I just googled Malahat too, gorgeous views!!!

Laurie- your basement is really coming along! Cool!

Eva!!!! Woot!!!!!!!!

Phyllis- happy Skyping!

Coffee mug is empty....... guess that means I need to be on my way.

have a great day!!!

Good morning ladies. Woke up at 5:40 again...but today I was able to go back to sleep until 6:40. :-) Made some homemade chicken noodle soup with lots of cream...yummy and full of calories. But I took some to dad. He has had a cold for about a week and just feels awful. I wish I knew what to do to help...he misses mom so much. I took Sydney with me and two of my nieces came over so it was fun!

Started an Instagram challenge...totally getting into that.

Eva, congrats on the purchase! That camera will be great. Need some coffee and then I will be back!

Morning ladies, Happy Sunday! Well we survived the trip to shopping Hell!! LOL actually it wasn't all that bad. Got most of the presents on the list and the rest, well they will have to be done on-line. I have no idea what to get my DIL?? She is a very busy Mom, but she is not a real girly girl and if I buy her clothes then she usually takes them back to the store. Perhaps a gift certificate somewhere is the only answer? Today is cleaning day and laundry, a few groceries to pick up and get my calendar finished. Other calendars are finished and have been ordered. Cards to send out and oh my not enough hours in the day today!!

Chris - Pour me another cup of coffee please!! I think I'm really going to need the caffeine today!! Your baking sounds so yummy!! I am not doing too much baking this year, I eat most of it myself and that is not a good thing!! You should share your recipe for Walnut Cups!! Like you have time for that right?? LOL. Glad you goggled the Malahat, yes very nice views, but people drive like maniacs on it and when its pouring rain or snowy, its not a very nice drive.

LindaS - Hope your dad feels better! What a good daughter you are to take him homemade soup! Must be a very difficult time of year for all you without your dear Mother! Sending you lots of

Phylis - did you google the Malahat? Sometimes when we have started our trip to Victoria, the Malahat gets shut down because of a bad car accident and you can be stuck on it for hours!! No other way to go if you are past a certain part of it. Not a good way to spend the day believe me!!

Eva - WTG on ordering the camera! I love my Cannon!! And of course you are worth it!! Have fun with it!

Well so much to do, so little time!! I hope everyone has a productive Sunday! Aren't Sundays supposed to be a day of rest??

Darn... I just followed the link for the silhouette machine and now I want one too :hurt:

Chris, when your kids are out of the house ( because they probably want a BIG tree) you should do what i've been doing. little live trees. this year i got an adorable 3' high Norfolk Pine at Walmart. they spray a little glitter or something on it so it twinkles a bit. and the glitter doesn't fall off. i can't figure it out. anyway. that cost around $18. i bought tiny ornaments and it's strung with lights. i love it. it's on my end table in the family room. it makes the whole tree thing so much easier. we used to have live big trees all the time, sometimes the kind you can plant in your yard afterwards, and it was such a hassle. then we had an artificial tree, and after 3 years it was pathetic!

Trudy, i DID look up the Malahat. it looks like a scenic wonder! although, i can imagine what it's like in bad weather. we did the Beartooth Highway (Montana) in July once, and they had just opened it again. it had been closed because of snow. but we're talking 10,000 feet high up there. oh, how i WISH i had some real mountains to look at!

Laurie, Bad Girl for letting us know that that Silhouette thing exists!!

Linda, i made it from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., with a few wake-ups in between. i feel like a new person! at least for today. i'm trying to figure out cream in chicken soup. do you just do regular chicken noodle soup and then add cream to the broth?

LOL Phyllis- that is exactly how we ended up with this tree. MIL decided that she no longer wanted/needed a big one. She is very happy with her tabletop one!

It was about half broth and half cream. I wasn't crazy about the idea although I love cream soups...you know, anything to add calories. But it really tasted good!

Well ... dad got home from hospital on Friday - now the ambulance picked him up again. This time though he had a headache and split vision. New things. Don't know what that mean ... just hoping it's not a stroke. That would be something to add to his poor heart!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING O FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I got through this week....whew!!!!!!!!!! What a doozie.....I don't think I can remember a week where I had so much to take care of....I actually even burnt up a tank of gas this week.....I NEVER DO THAT...I usually fill up once every three weeks...sometimes four!!!!!!!!!!!! I am the type to do all my errands and running in one day....then I am home the rest of the time!!
Some of this week was actually pleasure time too...I got to go with Savannah's class to Sesame Street Live....Jaiden's class went too...but when I asked if I could go with them, they said no...tickets were pre purchased so no seats available with them...but Savannah's class bought the tickets the day before....They both loved it though!!! Nana kind of did too :becky:

Yesterday Jamie and Josie came up about 11, and stayed until about 8 last night...that was awesome...(Jamie is Mike's middle daughter)...Mike was hunting and Jesse played outside most of the day (it 62 degrees) and Jaiden and Josie played..it was fun to watch Josie squealing after Jaiden and chasing her!! They played with the dolls and strollers...it was so cute...Josie just turned one.

Hunting season is winding down....Mike will only hunt three days this week....so he will be around to start helping me again....he essentially has MIA for 6 weeks!! I DO NOT EVER WANT TO BE A SINGLE PARENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow I think we will go get us a new Christmas tree...had to throw last years away..only half the lights worked on it and I never could figure out why..spent hours trying to replace bulbs....so when we packed that dude up, I was so angry with it I just threw it out (well took to the goodwill)....yeah, kind of wishing now I hadn't....Oh well..........I want to find a very skinny tree...never used to like them, but now I don't it taking up so much room....so the skinnier the better!

Okay....I am going to scrap at least two pages today....that will be half as many as I scrapped the WHOLE MONTH OF NOV!!! ....since my time has been so limited, I just never tried to start any pages....but instead, when I had a few minutes here and there I was organizing my photos....through the month of Nov I managed to get all of 2012 and half of 2011 organized....not too bad for 20 or 30 minutes here and there. I hope to have them all done by Jan...I want to make a book for my Dad's 80th birthday in Feb....and having all the older photos in the right place will make it much much easier!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay ladies I will check back in a bit....I am going shopping now (in the O shop :becky:)

Oh...and did I say..........I MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSED YOU LADIES!!!!!

We missed you too Nana- your like Sally on a Monday mixed with Jen! Dreary here and just finished a lowes after church and perkins trip- 3 checkouts at Lowes to remember what we wanted!

Chris it is like a cricuit, but with the designer studio does fonts, cuts 12 by 12 paper, vinyl, draws (well I bought the pens- we shall see!) and cuts.

Eva, oh, NO! i hope it's not a stroke. he must be exhausted, dealing with all of this stuff, over and over. good thoughts going your way.

Oh Eva...so sorry about what is going on with your dad. I know that you must be emotionally exhausted from this roller coaster!

And Linda, so glad to see you in here!!! I hear you on the single parent stuff. Brian works noon to nine, four days a week and then a regular shift on Fridays. I am usually in bed by the time he gets home...just exhausted. In January, he can start posting for jobs with all days. I'm praying that he gets one.
