Yeah yeah, cranky Miss Faery doesn't typically like new years, but I guess I need to put my Happy New Year Face on for this thread. How do I look? :becky:

hehe!!

I guess i don't understand the hoopla and the resolutions and all that. I am always hopeful that the new year will bring joy and goodness and all that stuff. But it always brings the same. Some good, some bad. *shrugs* Looking back 2011, was a rough one. Not as bad as 2010, but it was definitely a roller coaster of a year. and I'll be silly and brave and corny again and hope that 2012 is better and better. (I have learned to never say that "it can't get worse." Or "I can't take one more thing." As soon as I say them, that is when the Universe pulls out one more thing from Her bag of tricks. So no more of *that*. :pound: )
Gotta be positive, rather than cynical and that is how I "swing" -- between those two. And I wonder why I have roller coaster years????
:brick:

Anyway, I guess I am feeling all weird and stuff, limbo-ey. Tomorrow is another day. Right?

So rather than continue this maudlin and rambling philosophical mess..... how about I say a big ol' Cheers!!!! Happy new year to all!

*snicker, snort*

:p

Eva, you always make me smile.

Personals form yesterday:

Eva-- definitely do NOT want any pie recipes from The Help
The song and page you made gave me chills. Very powerful.

laurie- oh man, that stinks about DS's loan. I am currently convinced that the banks do this crap on purpose. We are in the process of doing a load modification/hardship app for mortgage. We sent in all of the paper work they required. They asked for more. Sent that it, and now *all* of it needs to be most current. Well guess what? By the time that we send all of the new stuff in, it will all be outdated again!
I hope that they can get it all together for him.

Mmm, I love home made chicken soups. All soups (almost LOL) . A quick tip for whenever you buy whole chickens, either fresh or rotisserie. Throw the carcass, and celery, onions carrots that were cooked with etc, in a ziploc and freeze it. When you have three or so, make up a big pot of stock. That way you'll always have chicken broth on hand for future soups.

HI donna! Hope you have a relaxing weekend! Gary and I are just going to our neighbor's house. That way when I get tired or have had enough I can just walk on home.

Phyllis I know!! Like I said I have created my own damn monster.

Oh goodness, catzilla is all over me, have to post this now .... xoxo!

Yes...........you look gorgeous as usual... and I hear on the DON'T SAY IT CAN'T GET ANY WORSE!!!! I have found myself tripping on those words many many times!!!!!!

Kids spent the night at Mom's last night with Traci....so Mike and I went out to eat.....we went to two different places and it was hour and half wait...so we ended up driving over to the Cracker Barrell....OLDIE AND A FAVE.....they told us 45 minuted wait in there but it was only 15....Can you believe that was the first time we have been to a dinner out to sit down for at least 5 months?? We have some gift cards to use now..but we will have to go EARLY on the weekends or during the week so we don't have to wait so long.

I need to clean today.....then the kids will be back this afternoon...plus Cameran too, who has spent most of his week here anyway....Sharon was off all week..but she has been potty training...so guess what I will be doing next week?? SHE IS A TOUGH ONE. She is too old in my opinion...my kids were trained very easily at 18 months old!!! Not sure what the Moms today think that they have to be over 2 to start this process!!!

Okay...off to finish my coffee and get busy......

Morning all - much to accomplish today before we set out to dine and dance with friends tonight.

I just ordered my books- really want to do more cooking this year. I realized that I know how to make recipes that were passed down to me from my mom, but I don't experiment much - I have sensory issues which fortunately do not come through the computer screen. I don't like light touch, I don't like crowds generally, I shy away from foods based on how they look (what would that feel like on my tongue- texture issues) I can only wear certain clothes or I spend the day wishing I could rip them off. I am hyper sensitive to smells and at times have a difficult time not attending to noises that are in the background. Probably TMI but I am working on trying to eat new foods and to cook new foods and expose myself to new tastes and textures. I did well with this on our recent trip, trying boudin balls, fish tacos, jambalaya and bananas foster!

I may also need to run to town to get another box for our Christmas tree- it seems to be too difficult to put it in the one I did buy. Oh and there is laundry- always there is laundry and scrapping!

Nana - posting at same time. As far as potty training goes- with your troop- my son's sitter had them all line up and potty before meals and snacks- he did not want to be left out so trained himself! Maybe that would work for you if you do not already do it.

Morning Ladies!

It is 12.31.11 and the temps here today in MO will be 66................now that is way off!! But I'm not complaining as I could live with them for a few more months!!

Chris-You look 'marvelous' darling!! Smile or not you say what you feel and that is a genuine person. I hope that 2012 roller coaster has way more ups than downs for you!

Eva-Happy New Year!!

Nana-Sounds like a plan for those giftcards and those are always great gifts to receive. Enjoy!

Laurie-Enjoy your new book purchases and experimenting with new foods. Sounds like the foods you tried on the trip were good choices..............did you like them??

Enjoy your day and Happy New Year!
Happy to have 'met you' all here at the O in 2011 and look forward to 2012 with all you lovelies!
Donna

Donna - I did like them- Someday I may try to make them at home, but will need to get the proper cajun spices!

Chris you look MARVELOUS my dear......

I decided years ago to not make any New Years resolutions, because I never kept them. Now that makes one feel like a failure for sure.....so now it's just another day.

DH and I are going out to dinner at the Olive Garden and then a movie.....our tradition for New Years.....nice quiet relaxed....

Wishing you all a GREAT day and a fantastic start to the new year.

For the first year in ages I'm making a New Year's Resolution, and I intend to keep it! Will be revealed in a LO tomorrow :)

Happy New Year's to all of you lovely ladies...especially the lovely Miss Chris. I am counting on a better 2012 but one really never knows.

I have read 3 books in the week since Christmas. How crazy is that? I love to read but never find time. Hope that this is the beginning of something new for 2012. And drumroll please...I am going to try Project 52 again. I really want to do that this year.

Have a safe evening all.

Gee ... I hate this year - is it over yet!!! Cut my finger - have a big bandage on my long finger. Had to change the dinner plans a bit, but it was good, so no much problem about that. Hard to type right now.

And there's an idiot troll at that other site I mentioned yesterday that is making me totally &¤"!¤/¤"/¤#!/¤#/&¤!"##==)/¤# Some times I just hate people. I know the best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them ... but it's hard.

Happy New Year to all whose clocks have passed the magic hour!

Will probably see in the New York's celebration but doubt we'll be up for ours - unless Fritzie gets us up to go outside - like he did last night :)

We intend to watch Premiership Rugby from UK - our team "Harlequins" are playing. DH used to play in his younger days.
And I'm being spoiled - again - Dieter is doing potato salad and frankfurters - chased down with a cold beer!
Sounds perfect to me.

I'm looking forward to 2012 - Yesterday downloaded my first book from the library (thanks to Jane's help)

It can only get better - and when things don't work out DH or I say "It could be worse" and the other responds, "Not a lot"

lotsa of warm ::grouphug to my "O" family!

Kind of tired today - maybe after my day in DC, but most likely after too much caffeine. I have all my 2011 digi stuff organized, and seriously need to go on a digi
shopping diet. That does not sound like fun but..

Happy New Year to all! I know 2012 will be good, and if it doesn't seem so, we all know how to make it good! Where there's life, there's hope!

Happy New Year to all one more hour before we head to dinner & dance. Delighted to find out that hotel offers shuttle to from our restaurant. No taxi fee & hotel paid for by dh hotel points.

Hope everyone is having a lovely New Year's Eve and will welcome 2012 safe and sound. Sure hope it is a wonderful year for us all! :champagne
