*dies a bit inside* last weekend of summer... But hey, at least it will be a nice one here in the Mid-Atlantic area.
I have to make this super quick, we are leaving in a few hours and I am not even sort of packed. One of these days I will get back to being an organized person. Just not today.

I had a great visit with my godson. He drew me a picture of Sponge Bob that I have on my fridge. From now on, I am saving every last scrap of paper that he gives me and putting it into storage when for when he is famous. Then I am going to sell every last bit and I will be one rich lady. (Honestly, I don't think that I could ever do that-- I was raised by a mother who can't get rid of a darn thing that my kids ever gave her. She *still* has a bag full of rocks in her car that Scott gave her when he was a toddler. She keeps them in a bag, washes them occasionally so they don't get dusty, moves them from car to car when she gets a new one). But man, this kid is going to be in the music industry. After lunch, my brother and I were just talking and Christopher was playing on the keyboard. He literally hears a song once and plays it. I would love to spend a few hours in his brain to see and hear what he hears. I don't think that he processes things the same way that average people do.

That was basically my day- catching up with my brother. Hanging out with Christopher and watching him play with the rats. Made me a happy Aunt.

I also am a bit worried? concerned? cautious? about my mom. She called last night from the house phone. She was supposed to be driving to PA in the morning. She had a strange reaction to one of the meds the new cardiologist she is seeing prescribed so she called and needs to move up some cardio tests from the middle of Sept to Tues and Wed of next week. She is driving herself to PA this morning although I offered to drive to get her. Or have her come up to my house and one of us could drive with her and the other two of us could follow. Just in case. She poo-pooed me about that. pfft. Stubborn. (where do I get that from? LOL)

Anyway, I am going to be offline for a couple of days. Have a fantastic weekend! xoxo

good day! Whew I was busy these past two days. Yesterday I had to get be up at the crack of dawn to have blood drawn for my physical next week. Then it was off to have my hair cut and colored. Then errands - pick up my husband's glasses as a lens had popped out and then ear cleaner for Luther. And of course both were in opposite directions from my town. And traffic was the pits through my town as last night and Thursday night my town was being used as a backdrop for an HBO TV movie or series - A Plot against America. They made our town look like it was the 1940s. Brought in old cars and changed the outside of some buildings. Pretty cool. On Thursday we walked past where they were setting up to shoot the film. Amazing a lot of people for just one part of the movie. Then this morning was swimming while DH walked Luther. The weather is great here for the weekend so that makes me happy! I have been working on the photos that has been fun but extremely time consuming. The surgery coordinator was awesome and all is set. More doctor appts for clearance etc but at least I don't have to take the class again nor have a chest X-ray. My friend's daughter said Greece is just like waking up every day in a postcard especially in Santorini.

Chris have a great time in PA. Hope the reaction to the new drugs is not long lasting. Have fun!

Kay hope your weather gets cooler. Amazing to me how fast the days get shorter and to me it is much more noticeable than when the days get longer. I am sure it is sad to see the family move but at least it is not too far to visit.

Felis the US is so tied to farming and when family was needed for planting and harvesting that school was only in the late fall and winter so when vacations became common place it just became standard to say summer ended when school began even though we all know that summer does not officially end until the 3rd week of Sept. Have fun sunbathing and enjoying the weekend.

Have a great day all!

Quick in and out... Been busy getting some scrapping done and uploaded to galleries.

Turns out my tummy wasn't feeling good last evening so I didn't go to the goodbye dinner for Granddaughter and family. Didn't want to expose them if it was something catching. They got off bright and early. The good thing is that her mom is DD#1 who isn't moving after all. Nice to have DD#1 and DD#3 still living here so I still have family nearby.

Still waiting for that cooler weather to arrive. Mid-90's for the next week!!! UGH!!! Staying in as much as possible.

Chris, hope the family made the trip okay... especially your mom. Enjoy your mini-vacation!

Nancy, so glad you don't have to go through everything again since you did it before your 1st knee surgery. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Felis, sounds like you had a fun time with sunbathing and a party!

Well, gotta get something to eat... the tummy is saying it is empty! Guess eating lightly yesterday evening did the trick. CYL

Good Sunday morning and the start of September. Strange not to have Chris here to start things off, but sure hope she is enjoying the time away. Here it rained overnight but is almost sunny now. Besides a trip to the library this afternoon I don't think we have plans today.

good day! well I have been off on a walk with Luther and my DH and now home watched the bike race the Vuelta - Spain is a beautiful country. Now watching tennis. I have started scrapping my 1977 Alaska photos. It is funny the things you remember from so long ago - my DH and I have such different things that really stood out.

Kay I am glad that two of your daughters are still close by! Hope the temps moderate!

Jean we are having partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies.

Have a great day all!

Morning Ozzies!!! Happy September 1st!! It has been a very busy summer for us and I am feeling rested now and have my house back in order once again. It will continue to be summer here for a few more weeks I am sure and the lack of rain has been very scary! The lake and river levels are dangerously low we sure could use some moisture!! Needless to say the time spent with the kids and grands was so much fun and we spent almost every day at the beach. I wish I had more time to catch up with you all today, but as usual my DH has me very busy helping with gardening and cleaning. It is humid today and we think that maybe, just maybe we will get some rain later on so we best get things done outside while we can. It is a long weekend for us as well so he will be here again tomorrow, under my feet LOL. I sure have missed all of you and will try to be here much more tomorrow!!
