*cries* Last weekend of August. It seems so weird to me that we technically still have 3 more weeks of Summer but as soon as the calendar flips to September we go into Full Autumn Mode. I don't think that we do that for any other season, do we? I guess it has to do with Back to School mentality.
Yesterday was a total and complete BUST. :boom:
I decided to get Scott's 6-Point paperwork ready to upgrade his licence. (Do any other states do that? You need to bring different levels of ID from different categories to prove your ID in NJ). I needed his SS Card, his Passport, Birth Certificate and a bank statement showing name and address. I went to the Fire Proof Box where we keep that stuff and none of it was there. I had all of that for me, Gary and Cait, but not Scott.
I went into full panic mode b/c usually I am really good about keeping that stuff safe. As Phyllis will attest, no one ever wants to go through the hell of replacing Gov't Documents :faint2:
I wake him up and ask if he knew where they were, maybe he needed them for SAT's or College Applications... nope. I knew *I* had to have them but where?
I finally found them which was both a relief, but also so maddening that I simply cannot get organized or remember anything important any more.
We make our plans to go to DMV, then his school to get his Book Deferment all set for his book store account to buy his books on Wed. His grant was more than his tuition so he gets the balance applied to buy books. Gotta LOVE community college!!!
As we get into the car, I realize that it is the last day of the month before a long weekend and OMG no one *ever* wants to go to the DMV on that day!!! We decide we will go to DMV another day and just run to the school. We get to the school- it is closed. Gah!
I had gotten an automated call from my breast surgeon's office saying that I had an appt on Wed, 3rd. I *know* they they had called to reschedule me to the 10th. I even found the Evernote I had typed b/c I was at work when they had called. So I call them back to say that I was scheduled for the 10th and no, they still have me in for the 3rd. WTH? So I guess I am going in on the 3rd but that meant a desperate call to my GP to get a referral sent over.
Then it just seemed like everything was not working properly, losing more stuff, so on and so forth... I made it to the lake for the last time of this year. Very sad but will look forward to the next summer.
Gary made more homemade tomato sauce from the garden tomatoes- really good! And Leah was just cracking us up at dinner. After dinner Gary and I watched Dead Poet's Society. We hadn't seen it but a lot of the people here recommended it. Of course, even that couldn't go simply and first the DVD had no sound, then the DVD jammed in the player, took a few tries to get it right.
So today-- I am conflicted. Part of me wants to get my office organized. Something has to change. But I also need to work on Leah's b-day album. And it is nice out and my yard is a mess. What to do????
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!!!
