*cries* Last weekend of August. It seems so weird to me that we technically still have 3 more weeks of Summer but as soon as the calendar flips to September we go into Full Autumn Mode. I don't think that we do that for any other season, do we? I guess it has to do with Back to School mentality.

Yesterday was a total and complete BUST. :boom:

I decided to get Scott's 6-Point paperwork ready to upgrade his licence. (Do any other states do that? You need to bring different levels of ID from different categories to prove your ID in NJ). I needed his SS Card, his Passport, Birth Certificate and a bank statement showing name and address. I went to the Fire Proof Box where we keep that stuff and none of it was there. I had all of that for me, Gary and Cait, but not Scott.
I went into full panic mode b/c usually I am really good about keeping that stuff safe. As Phyllis will attest, no one ever wants to go through the hell of replacing Gov't Documents :faint2:
I wake him up and ask if he knew where they were, maybe he needed them for SAT's or College Applications... nope. I knew *I* had to have them but where?
I finally found them which was both a relief, but also so maddening that I simply cannot get organized or remember anything important any more.

We make our plans to go to DMV, then his school to get his Book Deferment all set for his book store account to buy his books on Wed. His grant was more than his tuition so he gets the balance applied to buy books. Gotta LOVE community college!!!

As we get into the car, I realize that it is the last day of the month before a long weekend and OMG no one *ever* wants to go to the DMV on that day!!! We decide we will go to DMV another day and just run to the school. We get to the school- it is closed. Gah!

I had gotten an automated call from my breast surgeon's office saying that I had an appt on Wed, 3rd. I *know* they they had called to reschedule me to the 10th. I even found the Evernote I had typed b/c I was at work when they had called. So I call them back to say that I was scheduled for the 10th and no, they still have me in for the 3rd. WTH? So I guess I am going in on the 3rd but that meant a desperate call to my GP to get a referral sent over.

Then it just seemed like everything was not working properly, losing more stuff, so on and so forth... I made it to the lake for the last time of this year. Very sad but will look forward to the next summer.

Gary made more homemade tomato sauce from the garden tomatoes- really good! And Leah was just cracking us up at dinner. After dinner Gary and I watched Dead Poet's Society. We hadn't seen it but a lot of the people here recommended it. Of course, even that couldn't go simply and first the DVD had no sound, then the DVD jammed in the player, took a few tries to get it right. ;)

So today-- I am conflicted. Part of me wants to get my office organized. Something has to change. But I also need to work on Leah's b-day album. And it is nice out and my yard is a mess. What to do????

I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Is your stomach any better today, Phyllis? Sending some chamomile tea and some soup to help ~~~~
Yeah, veggies are expensive too-- and no coupons like you get for Crappy Food. But at least I feel like I can get more bang for my buck and will only buy what is on sale.
I would *love* your pesto soup recipe. I don't think I have that if you posted it before. Yes, chicken broth/beef broth are ok with my kids and cait will just pick out any meat. My family's eating habits are so weird. hehe!
Oh my!! Weather Bitch is out already! LOL!!!! Yup, don't get me started -- especially for Jan-March. Just. Yuck.

Nancy- OMG!! That is absolute craziness about your DS's car!!! It has *not* been good for cars and drivers in NJ the past few weeks. I am so so sooooo glad he wasn't in it, but darn, that sucks about it being totalled. A sneezing fit?? Puh-leeeeze!
The Open sounds like it was a wonderful day for you! Glad you got to go!

Trudy- I hear you about needing rain, but just not this weekend. The reservoirs here are getting low too. I have seen worse, but it is still not good.
No luck with Guidance. Cait left a voicemail. I had to whisper in her ear what to say but I am glad that she is the one taking responsibility for it all.
Fingers and toes all crossed for Heather! Hope that she sells lots of clothes and meets some friendly faces as well:)

jean! So good to see you back again! Ca't wait to hear about your vaca!

Sara-- That is just what the Dr Faery ordered. Pizza and wine! Enjoy your weekend!

Guess I should get going, I have been online way too long so far today!

hugs!!!!!!!!!!!

Early morning hello from me... Up at 5am WTH?? Hubby up even earlier and now he has gone back to  that is where I am headed too!! Not sure just what woke us up, but its the weekend and we have nothing major planned for the day so we are going to get some more rest!

Chris - OMG you sound just like me, I can't remember what I did with my memory LOL its gone somewhere and I can't find it!! Glad you finally found your important Govt documents , too bad it all was for nothing with everything being either too busy or closed. :becky: Glad you got to the Lake for one last time! I am hoping to get at least one more swim in before fall actually arrives. The water will still be warm for a bit and it sounds like we are in for more warm days next week.

Ok I am off to dreamland again, hopefully!! Have a great day everyone!

good morning - just as I sat down to write my son comes to the door to get his childhood chest of drawers. That is the first of many pieces that will be leaving my house for his LOL. But it many ways it is good to get his stuff out as it gives me space to rearrange our stuff. He also took the rocking chair I used when the boys were babies. It for me was not that comfortable but his wife loves so off it went. Funny while going through the drawers he found stuff he claims he has been looking for for years. Glad he is finding the stuff! So now my DH is also headed over to help unload and get the stuff up the stairs at the new house. Yesterday was fun as I got my hair done and it looks good now. I then went shopping and got myself new tennis shoes. Then on to the department store and got new undies. So I am very close to being ready for my trip. However when I got home which was after noon I found out the accident still had not been reported to our insurance company. My DH was supposed to do this while I was out but somehow or another he did not get to it. That took a long time! They can not send out an adjuster until Tuesday and then it takes awhile to get all the paper work done before the repair shop can even begin. Oh well! At least I have my oldest who will check the car over to insure that it is in good shape. Today other than getting a walk in I am just going to scrap.

Chris that was some day! We too have one spot where we keep all the important documents and sometimes it has not been there and I agree the panic sets in. Good for Cait calling in! I think it is indeed the fact that it is back to school time that seems to bring summer to an end early. Go to the lake and enjoy this last weekend.

Trudy sorry for the early wake up. Hope you can catch up. Hope you get some rain!

Phylis hope your stomach is feeling better!

Sara your Friday evening sounds very relaxing!

Everyone have a great day!

Chris, what a day! Sure hope your weekend gives some relief.

Nancy, you must have mixed emotions about that furniture moving, but mostly good to have more space?

Trudy, hope you got back to dreamland and had a peaceful sleep.

Phylis - hope you're feeling better!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

We had a good time in Oklahoma visiting my BIL. Too bad it was so hot, but we went when the calendar had an opening. We still did some rewarding birding, but never spent long out of the car. A kitten took up residence in his yard (small, but a wildlife haven) and it had just started making up with him when we arrived. Dick made friends with it immediately. Soon it will venture into the house. Hopefully it will be healthy and maybe the time is now right as Jim has not wanted to commit to a cat since the demise of his long-time feline companion a few years ago.

I'm very happy sitting in comfort on the sofa doing email and the O with my new Surface! I've been wanting something smaller than my laptop for a long time and finally gave in to spending too much for what I really wanted and now glad. I'm trying to get used to it and the big switch from XP to Win8.1.

Tomorrow our artist group is taking down our show at the artisan yogurt shop and Tuesday hanging at a nearby gallery. I've got six pieces, only two shown previously, ready to go. Wednesday evening we have an opening. I'm excited to say the least. There have been some changes of people, but our neighborhood group has been exhibiting together since November and seems to be making a difference for each of us.

Good afternoon - I am practicing not having expectations- which is a good thing! Here was the planned schedule- dance, drive to Scio so hubby could speak to an Amish man, drive back- grab a bite to eat, stop at home improvement store for baseboard and quarter round to finish basement. Here is how it went- go to dance- look at phone between lessons and see 3 missed calls from son that lives at home- contact him- car died on way to girlfriends 2 hours away. Drive from dance to dead car, call for tow truck- go to home improvement store- come home and eat left overs. However, I am back in my basement sorting and organizing. I am going to keep only what fits, so some stuff will have to find a new home. If it does not rain it will go roadside tomorrow with for sale sign!! Now to eat veggies and later- turtle cheesecake!!

Feeling at hOme!
Good evening girls.
Seems like everyone has been overbusy today!!
I took some time for a long bath this morning before getting ready for a lunch with friends. Then had to do a work, fortunately it took me only one hour time. Then enjoyed some relaxin time reading. Had a late call from a friend tonight, she was not feeling very well after a dispute with her mother. I am going soon to bed, I am still exhausted after having seen a new osteopath this Friday. Tomorrow I am going to a yard-sale with a friend and her little girl. Fingers crossed it won't be raining!

Good morning - up early to see my DH off with oldest son, wife and their friends for their annual canoe trip down the Delaware. There are thunderstorms coming so I hope they make it off the river before they hit. Me I am heading to my girlfriends for a BBQ. It is cloudy now but sun and humidity is coming. But not sure what she will do if it thunderstorms but I no longer worry about the weather it is what it is. Yesterday got in a good walk. And that was pretty much it though I did watch a lot of US Open tennis and I did get a page done.

Chris hope you had a good day!

Trudy hope you got in that extra sleep time

Jean what a sweet story about the kitten. Glad your trip went well and birding from the car is often how I have to do it.

Laurie what a story! Cars what a pain! Turtle cheese cake sounds good to me!

Sabine glad you had a nice long bath. Have fun at the yard sale and hope you sell a lot with no rain!

Have a great day all!

Good mOrning Ozie-Os!

Trudy, I feel your pain. Catzilla decided she wanted me up at 4am by trying to roll all over my face. When I rolled over she grabbed my with her claw in the soft part between my thumb and forefinger. I ended up whacking her on the nose which made her leave me alone for a bit but then I was pretty much awake from there on out. You would think she would keep on leaving me alone, but no, she is still all over me as I type. I just had to push her off of my left shoulder and since she is a huge cat, that is no small feat!! :pound:

I got a few more pages scrapped for Leah's book. I *really* need to check the expiration dates on the free Shutterfly books. If it is today, I must get about 7 more pages done. I don't think it is today, but what the heck do I know. It's 100% CRS. Can't Remember S***!
Hope you get some more lake time in too! It is supposed to get hot next week for back to school. I have a feeling Scott will be teasing Cait about how his school has air conditioning :D

Nancy- when do you leave again? You have been a real traveler this summer-- so much fun!
hehe about the furniture leaving your house. Gary brought home his grandmother's desk from his mom's the other day. It is now squeezed into our LR of Mis-Matched Hand me Downs. But if it gives him a place to keep his crap, other than the kitchen island i am 100% for it!!!
Does your son have another car to drive while he waits for the insurance co to get over to see it?

Jean- I think that a new kitty will be a wonderful addition to your BILs hose. Any chance he would like a 4 yo, 15 lb calico Catzilla? :D
Is a Surface a tablet? Hope you have a great time with it!! yay!!
That is so cool that your art will be at a new gallery.

Oh man, Laurie, that stinks that your plans got all messed up. Seems to be the way things are going lately for many of us. Hope that today goes easier for you. Mmmm! Turtle Cheesecake!!! I saw your anniversary LO on FB-- just gorgeous!!!!

Sabine- I bet that bath helped your aches get a bit better. Sorry to hear that you are still so exhausted. Fingers crossed for no rain at the garage sale. It looks like it might rain here today but we need it.

Yup Nancy- it is not looking so good with the weather up here in North Jersey. Fingers and toes are crossed for no rain until everyone is off the river. Is there a contingency plan if it there is lightening before they do?

Have a wonderful day my friends!

Good Morning - the boy is off to his girlfriends- just me and hubby- I have missed that. I know the boy would like to be out on his own and it appears that soon that may happen. Rainy today, so looks like I will post for sale stuff online to get rid of crafting items I no longer want- I will see how that goes. Mostly rubber stamps and paper crafting items. I signed up to go to Come Home to your Fearless Self event held by Rhonda Britten in Sept. in Denver. Now to pay for the event. I am going to clean and scrap again today. I really want to have pictures to show off by tomorrow night!
