Last weekend in August.

It is going to make life harder when things have to be done outside and it is cold, like picking up groceries or waiting in the car for Drs appts and such, but it is what it is. I am thinking that I will invest in a waterproof lightweight jacket for the fall and something long and warm for winter. And maybe a new umbrella.
Any good brands that you recommend for things like that?

I spent several hours outside, I washed down the patio and weeded along the front by the road. Today is it raining all day so everything will get nice and watered. My parents are visiting tomorrow so we can use the patio inside of the backyard which will probably be wet and buggy.
Not much else happened here.

Oh I forgot to tell you all but earlier this week we got another Bingo on our Trail Cam Animal Bingo Card. We saw a coyote! We have seen everything now except mice (we know we have them just that the cam wouldn't pick them up) and bobcat. They are up the mountain but I don't think any have been spotted down here. Fox, bear, possum, groundhog, deer, turkeys, raccoons and obviously squirrels and birds and chipmunks. Oh, and we haven't seen skunks, but we have smelled them! PU!

I think that I am going to try to do some scrapping today. Nothing else has to be done - at least that I feel like doing. HAGD!!
hugs!

Guess w6hat I did between postin5g t6his^^ and now? I spilled and en5gtre mi5g of coffee on my keyboard. %Garyu is 6headin5g into the attic top see if 6he 6has a spare.

good morning - well this weekend we are taking care of my son's cats and guinea pig. We have to go each day twice. LOL. good thing we love our kids and pets. They are so bad though. My son in a rush gives us what to do but says there will be a note with the specifics. Well of course there was not so we had to call them. But all is good and the were alive as that was the main thing. Do not kill the pets. I understand. I am watching the first day of the TdF. There is a lot of rain so there have been crashes. It amazes me each time the give the speed of the racers. In the early part of the race there are going 27 miles per hour. That is crazy. First of all I don't like to ride fast and I don't like riding in crowds so I just gladly watch. Hockey is also back today. So that makes me happy.

I saw a quote today that really made me think "To those with privilege equality seems like oppression".

Chris like you it is rain all day today. I am hoping just rain and no big storms. But luckily it should be gone by tomorrow in time for your parents visit. OMgosh the key board is crazy. Sorry you spilt the coffee. Glad your Gary saves everything! Hope the new one works.

Trudy have fun watching early morning hockey if your MG decided no errands.

Cheryl wow that is some story. It sure deserves to be told. Are you going to scrap it? Glad you made it through all that weather. Good luck the rest of the way. No more fire alarms!

Felis I love your commentary. You are so correct. It does no good if the athletes or artists just say words with no actions. So far the basketball players have managed to turn their arenas into polling spots for our upcoming elections to allow social distancing so people come out to vote. The baseball players are asking for the same and NHL players too. The NHL players supposedly spent the days off trying to come up with actions. This is will be a process. That is cool your making jam even if the final price is more than a store price but you cant put a price on homemade!

Have a great day all!

I am going to try this again. New to me keyboard and it is really different. The one I was using was pretty flat, this is very "thick" with keys off the case at anangle. Who knows, maybe it will help me type better. So far, it isn't but I am typing slower so maybe I will see the typos as they happen.
I have to clean my desk, it smells like coffee which isn't an issue but it is sticky. Yuck.

Good morning Nancy- I see you posted here already. Enjoy watching the TdF! And that is excellent advice- don't kill the pets ;)

Trudy- Does your kitchen smell amazing after your jelly and pie making? I said to Gary that he is going to miss apple pie this fall if he is still GF. I will need to research GF baking flour if he is and can make some mini-pies for him.
It is good to have 3rd grade company!
NJ is opening gyms as of Sept 1 but at 25% capacity and no locker rooms so it would be hard for swimming if your pools do the same.
I think it is such a good thing that the sports are taking some time off to show solidarity to BLM. Good luck to the Briuns tonight!

Cheryl- Yay for getting to OK same and sound. What a trip. Not quite a fun and relaxing adventure at all.

I had to post that before I lost it. I keep hitting the wrongs keys and am opening new Tabs and windows.
Cheryl-- as I was saying what a crazy time and I hope that means that the rest of the moving goes well and all of the kookiness has run its course. I can't even imagine the chaos, tired, hungry, and then the fire alarm. My poor Daisy!
What Rx have you taken for restless legs? His is not typical RLS, but he gets total body spasms. Legs, ankles, neck mostly. He gets an urge to crack his joints or snap his muscles and it will last for hours some nights. He has tried different meds and herbals and nothing seems to help. If you have a suggestion, I will pass it along, poor guy could use a miracle.

Felis- enjoy your jam making and eating! That is too bad about your knitting project not turning out right. That is a big reason why I prefer crochet over knitting. Eaiser to rip rows out in crochet if I lose count or mess up the pattern of stitches because my mind drifted.
I have used the gel polish that you dont need a lamp for and that lasts much longer than regular polish. I don't paint my nails often enough to make it worthwhile to buy polish that wasn't a hand me down from Cait either LOL

Hello, gals. Bit late getting in here. I read until 1:15 AM and slept in until 9 AM!!! Body is still feeling like it just wants to veg all day. Not surprised at all.

Thursday started off with a call from the Pest control guy waking me up at 7 AM to say he was here at the house. Their office had called a couple of days ago and said he would be here on FRIDAY. Apparently the gal had told everyone on his route that he would be there on Friday, too. Smoke and heat still very evident so spent the day inside.

Yesterday was spent working on 4th Friday MiniOs LO... so many delightful kits to play with. Didn't realize it until 4 PM that I had forgotten to eat all day. Thank goodness for frozen meals... had Chicken & vegs with Teriyaki sauce and some fresh cantaloupe. About 6 PM, I heard the wind whistling across the fireplace flue... so looked out back to see the trees blowing like mad. Turned on TV to weather report and we were under a high wind warning... blowing at 50 MPH with gusts upto 65 MPH. Ran out onto the back patio and recused 2 of my patio chairs that were blown over then unhooked the patio swing from its frame and set it down on the patio. Then looked out in front yard to see that the 'new' tree (planted last year) was blowing almost over onto the ground. The twine holding it to the two supports had broken... so grabbed the roll of twine and scissors and rushed out to tie it back to the supports. It was a fight to get it tied to them with the wind battling me and the tree and whipping around like crazy. It is okay this morning... no broken limbs like we had last year from a similar storm. We had thunder/lightening but very little rain... maybe .20". Suppose to be getting back to more "normal" temps (mid-80's) this coming week.

Wow, Cheryl... what a trip you had... then to have a false fire alarm at the hotel... and a lost paid for reservation! Glad you are safe at your new town and hope your stuff arrives okay.

Chris... sorry about the spilled coffee on the keyboard. Glad your DH squirrels away stuff so you at least have one you can use. I know what you mean about how difficult it is to use when the style of it is so different that what you are used to using.

Nancy... good luck on taking care of son's pets while they are away. Glad you are getting to watch some sports as you seem to really enjoy them. Have to admit that I miss watching golf with DH now that he is gone. Now I only turn on TV to get weather news and latest on Covid-19 in our area... less than an hour each day.

Well... here I am still in my PJs and needing to get something to eat. I may just have a PJ day and veg the rest of the day. Have a good weekend, gals.

hey there and a happy Sunday to you all!

Meh. I am so boring.
It rained on and off here for much of yesterday so I wasn't able to get outside at all but that was my plan anyway. I don't think I did much of anything at all. Time is a real strange concept. At dinner, we were trying to place events that had happened in the last 5 months or so and see if they felt recent or far past and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to any of it. One thing that felt both far past and recent was our Christmas in July which was one month ago. That was our last Theme Night. Feels strange - time that is.

My parents are coming up to visit this morning and I hope it warms up a bit. Right now I am so darn cold. After they leave, I have to clean out part of the kitchen area, we have mice again. I guess the heavy rain drove them back inside.
Then I will work on my food shopping order. My goodness, my life could not get any more exciting! LOL

Wishing you all a very peaceful day!

Nancy- That quote makes you think. I wish that more people could reflection it and see the truth of it, even in small ways.
I saw that about the NBA offering the arenas as polling stations. The WNBA and NBA have really been at it. I don't follow basketball as a sport at all, but I read that LeBron is organizing to pay off court fees and fines that are preventing people in FL to get their right to vote restored. It is great that other pro sports are stepping up as well. A lot of people don't follow politics/racial injustice/policies closely but they do follow sports.

Kay- you must have a very good book to be able to stay awake and read until 1 am!
Oh wow, what a way to wake up onThursday. The receptionist must have been getting aggravated calls from the customers all day.
The mini os are fab as usual. I don't know if I would ever forget to eat all day but scrapping with them could do it. heh! They are awesome to mix and match.
Yikes!!! That storm sounded like it came out of nowhere. I am glad that you didn't blow away while you were taking care of the stuff in your yard. I hope that the tree is doing ok and that the weather cooperated a bit more this week.

good morning - well the pets have survived and now they will be back in their families care as they will be back today. Today is a gorgeous day - low humidity and low 80s for a high. I did get in a walk yesterday as the rain ended in the afternoon and will walk again this afternoon. Hockey was good yesterday. TdF was good and today we are in Nice and the Mediterranean is a beautiful blue! Yesterday was a bad day for the TdF as there was a lot of rain and many crashes! It is sad to see them all bandaged. More hockey today 3 games starting at 6pm my time. Got two pages scrapped for my FotoInspired book. I am in August photos so I am keeping up pretty well.

Chris hope you have fun with your parents. It is cool! Today seems like a fall day. I am not ready even though I know Sept starts Tuesday. I am wearing my fleece. Sorry about the mice!

Kay OMgosh that wind storm sounds horrible. Congrats for getting all the patio furniture secured and for saving your new tree. You go girl! I too can read a book until the end. It is fun but then if it does not have a sequel I am sad that the story has ended. Have fun scrapping! I must say I know my girlfriends can get so busy they forget to eat. But I have never done that yet!

Have a great day all!
