Happy Weekend! I hope that you all slept later than I did. I woke up before 5 am, couldn't get comfy cuz the dogs were hogging the bed, and then Gary's insulin pump alarm went off. Rolled out of bed and got coffee around 5.30. #sleeping

I had a nice visit with BFF although she is still having a tough time with her son-- he keeps getting job screening interviews and then -- nothing. *shrugs* He got a couple of real interviews and a second interview with a potentially very cool internship but - again nothing. It is really frustrating for him and after months of rejections/ghosting, it's messing with his head. :( I gave her absolutely no advice-- she joked- thanks for nothing hahaha!
I stopped at the dollar store (actually the $1.25 store ;) ) and got a pair of sunglasses. The ones I have are getting scratched up and I need some for the shore since it is going to be *sunny* Yup-- putting that out into the universe, it will be beautiful and sunny.

I am going to the FP this morning and Caitlyn is taking my friend (her second mom) to get her cartilage pierced by Tom. I tried to get Gary to do the FP run so I could go with them, but that makes him uncomfortable. I have a couple of LOs I need to upload and that is about it.

Hope you are all enjoying the day!

@taxed4ever Did it ever rain by you? We got about 5 minutes of rain and that was it and it was literally only right by my house, Scott was at a park just a couple of miles away and didn't get a drop.
I hate when that happens, big stores buying up the little ones' spaces. Worse when you can't get what you need. Did you look at Amazon? Maybe they have the spray conditioner you like?
That is so sweet that Sadie was able to talk to you about how she felt about her hair, you have such incredible relationships with your grandkids which can't be easy since they live so far away.
I have done- taken pictures of sentimental things- before but some of what I am keeping know I get a kick out of seeing. One of them is a note that Caitlyn wrote to me when she must have been 5 or 6 yo. Another is a picture of Pocket Pook. I gave her a stick figure of me to keep in her pocket when she missed me at school (Pocket Mom LOL) and she drew me a Pocket Pook (one of her nicknames is Pook). ♥ It feels very weird not having anyone going back to school in any form this year. First time since 2000.

@Cherylndesigns I am so happy that you slept better the other night and good for you for making your tea up again. I love how we all take care of each other too.
Scott was all sniffly and congested yesterday and I bugged him to test but he was negative. I am getting paranoid about getting sick before I go away in 2.5 weeks- feels like flashbacks to the grad party

@LSlycord That has to be good for you and for Syd that she texts every day. When Caitlyn went on a cruise a few years ago, I was laughing (but sad at the same time) that it was probably the longest I had ever been out of contact with her in -- like--ever. Even when she is away camping or whatever, we still text every day. I am sure that Syd is going to find time to send you texts too. PS: I think that Cait texts me because she misses the dogs and rats too lol
My 100% unsolicited advice-- take some time off of work, enjoy the upcoming trips, make plans to pop down to see Syd, go to a football game or something with her on campus. There is plenty of time to go back to work-- someday
Aren't I such a help??? ROTF!

@BrightEyes I feel like we are all waiting anxiously to hear what the dr says about your bloodwork with you. I am glad that the dizziness is almost gone
I wish I had a room where I could close the door and ignore it. *hmmm*
what if I clean my BR, and close myself *inside!? Does that work???

@scrap-genie *fingers and toes crossed that you don't get Covid!* The genealogy trip sounds fun, glad you got some research done. Did you find any new/interesting connections?
It is really such a relief to hear that my mom's health is improving, It is never going to be great but if she can feel well enough to enjoy life again-- that is amazing and a very positive change :)

@Lynn Grieveson I LOOOOOOOVE your new color play kit. My goodness, you are so creative and talented and yes, I am fangirling and gushing!
Yikes, landslides sound terrifying, I am glad you aren't in danger of that anymore. Hope that things dry up soon -- but not too much that you end up in a drought again. There are no happy mediums with weather anymore :(
Good for you for finding some relief for your shoulder!!!! That is fab news and please remind me of this when I complain about my shoulder pain this winter. (When I was at a college party, I was picked up and thrown -like a taber- and landed on my R shoulder. The college infirmary put me in an immobilizing sling for 2 weeks. Gave me a frozen shoulder. It has been acting up recently and will get worse when it is cold. I know that cleaning as well as computer work doesn't help)
You got this!!
Pro Tip (AKA more unsolicited advice from Faery): Write it down in your to-do list every darn day and make a point of crossing it off. It is the only way I get *anything* done :/

@vickyday Your visit with your friends sounds delightful!! They have more energy and vitality than I do most days LOL
Great shopping at the Thrift store too.
That has to be such relief that Mark for some work hours in, I hope that it sticks- it will be a big help at the holidays-- especially with 18 g-kids!!
How is your stomach today? Is there anything you can do to help calm it down?
LMBO over tommy toes! There has to be a story about why they call them that, a mispronunciation when someone was little? :)
We still need rain -- just not mid-Sept when my mom and I go down shore Most years we get rain or sandwiched between tropical storms.20180913_113135_resize.jpg

@Betty Jo I knew a woman from the Lyme community that had that same issue. Anything either chemical or electrical would make her deathly ill. It was shocking! I am glad that it has gotten better for you by moving the phone and modem.

@tanteva hope you survived work ok!
@bcgal00 are you feeling any better yet?

I am running so late, me and my big blanbbermouth--- HAGD! xo

Good morning ladies. No sleeping in here either @faerywings. Shaun works 6 am to 1 pm today and tomorrow. Decker sleeps with Shaun. Andie and Hayden sleep with us. I told Shaun to wake me up when he was ready to leave and I'd get up with Decker. Well I woke up at 4 and all I could think about was how I needed to get up early. So I was up at 4:45 so I would be ready. LOL

Maybe I'll get a nap this afternoon. Not much planned here. Get some layouts loaded, get my tracking post updated so that it won't be hard this week. And that is the exciting plan at our house.

@faerywings I feel so bad for your friend's son. There is so much talk about how there are jobs for people. What they don't say is that they are jobs that won't pay the bills and have no benefits. I'm sure he must he must be discouraged and that must be hard for your friend too. I don't look forward to that part of the program in a few years. That reminds me, did Scott decide to stay with the job he has or to apply for the other one? My mind seems to have lost track of everything that happened in July and August except buying things for Syd to move into the dorm. #crazy

I actually kind of like your plan @faerywings. I would like to have a little time to just enjoy myself. I did get a call from the company that I had applied to in August. They want to interview me for another fulltime job with benefits. First interview is this Wednesday. We will see what happens. But they do move pretty slow so my plan is to definitely not work until October...and maybe not even then. Syd texted last night while she was cooking supper and I mentioned that I had quit my job. She wanted to know why I hadn't told her if I did it on Monday---I'd had a full week to tell her. That made me laugh...I said we had been pretty busy talking about her life. Then, when Shaun got home from work I told him about the conversation and he started laughing. He said, "That must have driven her crazy because Syd likes to be in the loop." And he is 100% correct.

Since I was awake so early, I worked on a tentative trip to Oklahoma City. Brian and I haven't done a driving road trip since before kids. Thinking it may be about 10 days...going through Asheville, NC and Memphis on the way there. Then coming home through Bentonville, AR and New Orleans. Thinking that we will leave the day after I return from Iowa. That should keep me occupied.1

Morning, all. Think my body is already trying to get ready for going off DST... I am reading later at night and sleeping in later in the mornings. Didn't wake up until after 7 this morning. Yeah, I know DST change won't happen until November. Got a call from DS#1 last evening... we talked for almost an hour. He and his wife will be coming through here after Labor Day holiday. They will spend 2 nights and 1 day with me.... so glad for the extra day to visit with them. Just hope that all the flooding that has been going on will have subsided before they make the trip.

The good news is that the dizziness is almost completely gone.... so guess the doc was right about the BP meds. I looked at the thyroid test results and it was in the normal range... so guess that is not what is causing the coldness problem. <<< sigh >>>
Have a new prescription at the base but decided I will wait until after Labor Day holiday to pick it up. Will need groceries by then so will do it all in one trip.

@LSlycord Sending good thoughts your way on the job interview. Don't blame you for wanting a few weeks off so you can doing some traveling before starting a new job. Glad to hear that things are going okay with Dexter there. You are a good 'foster family' with him.

@faerywings Glad you got some new sunglasses for the trip to the shore. Hoping you have good weather while you and your mom are there. So good to hear that she is feeling better, too. LOL... yes, our Dollar Store has also changed to $1.25 on most items and added a bunch of $3 - $5 stuff. How is your finger doing... hope it is healing by now.

@Betty Jo... glad you are feeling better now that you have moved the modem and other electrical stuff away from your work area and your night stand. Sorry you are so sanative to EMF.

@vickyday Sounds like you had a great day with your friends. Glad that Mark is getting more hours at work.

Coffee cup is empty and the tummy is growling... so off to get that taken care of. Have a good weekend, everyone.

@BrightEyes so glad to hear that your son and daughter-in-law will be able to spend some time with you after Labor Day. That is something to look forward to. And very happy that you are feeling better. But still hoping that the doctor can find something in your bloodwork that explains what was going on so it doesn't happen again.

@scrap-genie what fun that conference sounds like so much fun! When we used to live in Kansas City, we lived about 30 minutes from a fantastic genealogy library in Independence, MO. I could spend an entire Saturday there...of course, that was in the days before they had put all of the census information, etc on the computer. We had to load the microfiche, which was better than the microfilm. ;) Anyway, reading your stories about the time that you are spending in your genealogy groups makes me kind of want to find one around here to get involved with now that the kids aren't requiring much of my time. And, I do know that I have some family from Tennessee and some from North Carolina. I'm close enough now that I could probably make a few trips that way to do some research. Something else to add to my list of things to do...

@Lynn Grieveson can I just join Chris in fan crushing? This newest kit is just awesome! And you know that's true because I've made two layouts in two days! For me, that's record breaking! And you may have inspired me with the story about your shoulder. My left shoulder started hurting a few months ago...I don't think that I did anything to cause it. But sometimes, if I lay wrong in the night, it actually wakes me up. And it sure makes it difficult to do some very ordinary tasks. I should get it checked out.

@vickyday love the story about the TommyToes. I haven't heard them called that either...but I think I'll start using that term! Loving what you are scrapping right now. And, love the fact that one of your daughters will take the craft supplies off of your hands.

@Betty Jo I am glad to hear that you are continuing to feel better. I had no idea about EMFs before. That sounds awful but it sounds like you have figured out how to deal with it.

Morning ladies... Well it was a cooler day yesterday and very cloudy, but sadly not one drop of rain! Today we are back to sunny skies, but the temps are nice, not the stinking hot we have been having. Today is errand running and dropping our power washer off to BIL Mike to see if he can fix it. He tinkers around with lawn mowers etc and is pretty handy. I will be able to have a visit with my sister while we are there so that will be nice too! I spent the majority of the afternoon working on a Junk Journal and having so much fun cutting paper and making a total mess in my craft room. I should have been working on a layout, but seeing as I was MIA from here for most of the month, I will hold off until September and start back fresh in a new month. Although with everyone talking about @Lynn Grieveson 's new colour play kit I might slip in a page before the end of this month. Who knows? So grocery shopping and a few other stores to today and a quick visit to the Church as MIL and FIL and SIL Linda are there with a table of things to sell for the Church's Junk in the Trunk Sale (fund raiser). I can't believe that MIL and FIL will be getting rid of some things?? I am off to make brunch for DH and myself. Gotta get going so we can get our errands done before dropping off the power washer. Will try to pop in later to catch up, but you know how busy my Gary keeps us on the weekends LOL. He is back to his normal self, but almost looks like a whole new man as he is now 35lbs lighter and clean shaven! I love it! CYL!!

Had to work today too. I'm tired, but happy for every hour I get now. The price on wood pellets (the thing we use to heat the house & water) has rised like #@%%! Urban managed to find a "deal", that will only be 4000 SEK (about US$ 375) more for this year than last year. I do hope it will be a mild winter!!! But the way everything's going in the world right now, it will probably be the coldest winter in recorded history...

Next week & the week after that, I will be working a lot (and it might even be more, might be changes). But after the election's done, it will slow down.

But I really like to work with the election. It's important to sort of stand up for democracy. We are lucky to live in a country with a working democracy. So many people in the world don't have that luxury.

Now I'm winding down with a cup of coffee, some TV & knitting. Will have some snacks & a Pepsi later on. Just being lazy is nice.

Happy weekend to everyone!
Woke up with another headache today. I guess I'm going to have to see a doctor about them. **sigh** I hate going to doctors!
I had to go to the store to get some laundry detergent and OXI and fabric softener sheets for Mark's laundry today and got gas at Murphy USA (Walmart) for $3.33/gal! I'm not crazy about Walmart these days because it seems everything is from China! But I'm hoping since the USA is in the title that the gas is at least produced here.

The temps are heating back up here in NC! The sun is hot and the humidity is up. 86 at 1:00.

We took a couple of cantaloupes off the vines last night before we went out to supper. One of them weighed 9 lbs.! I've never seen a cantaloupe that big! I hope it tastes good! The "tommy toes" are about gone, but we are still getting some of the regular tomatoes.

Mark is brush-hogging today. He just came in for lunch and his shirt is soaked! I'm doing his laundry and cleaning a bit. I can't do anything that requires bending over because of the sinus pressure headache!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Good afternoon, Lovelies.

I took yesterday off pretty much. The girls came down and we decided to go get our pedis about 3:30 - the weekends are so busy at all the nail salons, and we only found one that we like. We got done there about 5 and decided to go for drinks and appetizers. We went to this really cool restaurant and sat in the bar. We've been there at night, but I'd never been there during the day. It overlooks a beautiful river and sits right next to the college campus. I'd seen the river from the outside, but the view from the bar was so nice! The restaurant is called The Branch".

Chris @faerywings I love it that we all take care of each other. I slept well again last night - just needed to make the effort to mix my tea up. It's not a huge deal, but it's a commitment - I have to get a big bowl out and mix all the different herbs together in that bowl, then pour it into my big container. I should take a picture for you - each jar has one of those black labels with the white chalkboard ink on it - which we both love. I keep all the labels and the pen in a drawer in my kitchen so that they're handy. I also use them for my plastic baggies after I dry my herbs.

Vicki @vickyday sorry you still have your headache. Have you looked into any of the new medications? Adrienne and I went to Walmart last night and I agree with you about the China thing. They own us, don't they? Scary thought! Especially now. Hard to find anything made here. I hadn't been there for a long time and their shelves weren't as full as they used to be. Adrienne couldn't find cat food - even at the pet store. We finally, in desperation went to Wally's and fortunately they had it. Add cat food to the growing list. :(

Kay @BrightEyes glad your dizziness it letting up and I hope your kids don't have any trouble getting there with the flooding. Thankfully, it hasn't affected your ability to get out and about.

Trudy @taxed4ever ugh for the heat returning. It's a little cooler here - well, it's tolerable now. Still pretty warm, but pretty normal. I need to get out and work on my front porch and the back patio. I've been waiting on it to cool off - I need to clean both of them - I've neglected them due to this wretched heat. We just ordered a new fall front door mat so when that comes, that will give me the incentive to get out there. I looked for one at Walmart last night and they had nothing. We've getting a really cute rug with cute pumpkins on it - I'm anxious to get it.

I'm going to go and see what I need to do to get the month end stuff tied up. It felt weird to take yesterday off, but I needed it.

Chris @faerywings I forgot to mention that I was giggling over the Dollar Twenty-Five Store. We know it's bad when.....................BWAHAHA

Happy Saturday, everybody. I'm going to be off a day now because the girls and I normally go out on Saturday and we went out yesterday instead. Chuck was even confused this morning. We'll be off a day now.

@faerywings I hate it when I have nights like yours and you wake up earlier than usual and can't go back to sleep! I have resorted to staying up until 1 or 2 again so I fall asleep easier and sleep better. While I was sick I was going to bed with Mark at 10 and sleeping well and even late. So I tried to keep that up after we were feeling better, but it was taking me a couple of hours of tossing and turning (even with Tylenol PM) before I would finally go to sleep and then I kept waking up around 4 and couldn't go back to sleep!
I hope your BFF's son finds work soon! I hate it when those who want to work can't find work because there are so many who can work but won't! And I'm not going to get started on that subject and raise my BP! ;)
I love spending time with those dear women! Yes, I believe they have more energy than me, too! And Ilene has the metabolism of a 20 year old! If I ate as much as she eats, I would be as big as the broad side of a red barn (to quote my dearly departed daddy!)
My stomach has settled down today. Now, if this headache would just go away.......story of my life, lol! If it's not the head giving me fits, it's my gut!
Mark was able to get about 5 hours OT in last week! He was tired when he got home last night! He was going to work today if it was raining when he got up. But since the sun is out today, he needed to get some work done outside. He loves working outside! Not me! Especially when the humidity is high!
Do you go to the shore in Jersey, or do you go further south? I hope the weather is nice for you come mid-Sept!

@LSlycord hope you can catch a few winks this afternoon! There are days when I would just love to take a nap, but I don't even try! The main reason being I wouldn't sleep come bedtime. And it would take me forever to get to sleep in the first place!
The interview next Wednesday sounds promising! Hope things work out the way you want! Your road trip sure sounds nice!
Thanks for the scrapping comment! My creativity has been up a couple of notches this month, LOL! It's funny how sometimes the inspiration just flows and at other times is completely dead!
For you and anyone else that is interested, I did find out something about the tommy toes here: Plants With Stories. We have basically stopped picking ours, so they have stopped producing.

@BrightEyes So good to hear your dizziness is almost gone!

@Lynn Grieveson I saw your new color play, too! It is on my list to grab next!!! As a matter of fact, I think I will just go and get it now!

Toodle for now!

After a lot of research about our area, we chose Verizon. So far so good.
Verizon's good. You have to go with who's the best for your area. Ours is T Mobile. it's working brilliantly for us and we're in the middle of nowhere.

Good morning ladies. Up early again today...which is like most every other day so I probably don't need to report on it. LOL They are predicting thunderstorms today...and that is nothing new because we have them daily now.

#cry
I did go down the rabbit hole yesterday afternoon a bit. I watched three episodes of Who Do You Think You Are and that got me to thinking that I really should spend some time looking for my southern roots now that I am in the southeast US. I do have lots of family from Tennessee and some from NC I think. So that's my new thing...

Today, I need to spend a couple of hours working so that I can make this a smooth transition for the new project manager. Shaun won't be home for lunch but I may fix Chicken Parmesan and let him eat the leftovers when he gets home from work. Other than that I have some scrapping to do.

@pachimac LOL what is 40 minutes to a mom. Glad that you found a good cell phone for where you are now! It really is so area specific.

@Cherylndesigns and @vickyday we are going to be near both of you. I think we are going a little too early to hit the good colors on the trees...but I feel like we need to get going. Shaun wanted to know how he was going to eat for 10 days if we were gone...he was half joking...

Have a good day all!

Yup, the Software that Shall Not Be Named.
I swear, I get it running just long enough to start tagging a few more kits, and then *poof* it shuts itself down again. I got it running again this morning, took some more screenshots, and sent them off to the IT guy who has been working with me on this.

Argh.

My family loves me today, I came home with a really good FP score. The dogs love me too. I got two boxes of Entenmann's, plus a bakery b-day cake. For the pups, I got dog food, regular cookies, and fake bacon treats. I also got some boring, but necessary things - flour, TP, deodorant- but everyone was really excited about the doughnuts :D

I am not sure what I am going to work on today, I cleaned the kitchen really well yesterday and already my family spilled coffee on the floor. grrrrrrr. Gary has been writing the instruction manuals for the arcade and has pieces and parts all over the LR and DR. I *could* clean my bedroom... but do I want to? (of course not, that is a silly question LOL).
I am honestly in the mood to scrap but I am terrified every time that I open the Software That Shall Not Be Named (STSNBN) that it will stop working.
Again. :/

Hope you have a fantastic day!

So do you actually use *&!@* software to scrap? Or is it just software used to keep track of your kits? Which is something that I need to figure out...I was looking for a watch face the other day and couldn't find one...I need some organization.

@LSlycord Gary and I were watching a show where one character was all up in arms that his neighbor lets his dog sleep on his bed and Gary and I were laughing so hard at that. Can you imagine? Life revolves around sleeping dogs, right? LOL
Is Shaun going to be ok when Decker leaves again? I know he is very attached to him. And it seems very mutual
The one internship that my nephew is hoping to get is an unpaid one, but it is in DC so the benefit is that he might be able to network to something permanent. The other one that he is interviewing for is $15/hr and only 20 hours a week. but he is desperate to find something in his field. I feel awful for him
Scott turned down the job at the ecology center- it was more administrative than he wanted and is still hopeful that something is going to turn up in the County Park division. I know he has a couple of applications out there but he doesn't like to talk about it so I have trying not to ask unless he opens up about it
Hahahaha!! I got this visual of your brain looking like an IKEA catalog for the past two months! I bet it felt that way.
You have the best kids-(2nd best-- right after mine :D). So-- job interview on Wed. Good luck and I hope that whatever is best for you is what happens- and your travel plans should be a priority (IMNot-So Humble Opinion of course)

@BrightEyes I truly wish that it could be DST permanently. (I know you are the opposite) but the darker mornings are already making me struggle to get out of bed. Not to wake up, that part is still way too easy- but to crawl out of bed is tough and getting tougher
drat, I was hoping that the thyroid was causing the chilly feeling, that would have been a relatively easy fix. That is still happening after the BP med adjustment?
That is wonderful that DS#1 is coming to visit :)
Would you believe that my finger was still hurting yesterday? Today is the first day the swelling seems down and it is not painful to bend. Looking back I prob should have gone to Urgent Care to get it glued.

@taxed4ever Sounds like you had a mix of errands and family time yesterday. Was BIL able to fix your power washer?
And really now--- your ILs are going get rid of some of their junk???? Maybe I have a chance that my Gary will do the same here (hell must be freezing over LOLOL!!!)
Have a good time the rest of the weekend!

@tanteva Ummmm, I don't want to tell you how much we pay a month for heating oil. I wish we had our old wood stove. When we put the addition on, we had to get rid of it if we wanted stairs to get to the second floor and now there isn't a free wall to put one in. I used to pay $200 a month for oil (we have hot water baseboard heat) and it went up to $400 a month. We keep the house at 66*F in the winter during the day and 62* at night.
But no matter, it truly sucks that the pellets for your heating are so high, and I hope that the winter is mild for you. It is not easy anywhere. :(
I can see why you want to get as many hours in as you can while you can. How are you doing with the silly people coming in to vote? Is your tongue bleeding from biting it? Hope not toooo badly.

@vickyday I think you are right, time to go to the dr if the headaches are not easing up. Do you wear glasses? Maybe your vision changed? Those cantaloupes must be huge-- 9 lbs!! Bigger than my babies were, much bigger LOL
What is brush-hogging? whatever it is, I am glad you aren't doing it in the heat
Glad that your stomach is feeling better.
I am a Jersey Girl! We got "down the shore" to the Belmar area. My mom's family had a house there when she was growing up, wish it was still in the family. Belmar/Spring Lake are a few beach towns north of Seaside where the (awful) show, Jersey Shore was taped. It is much quieter, there is no Boardwalk/games rides/etc

@pachimac Good luck with the new phone plan. I hate how there are so few (cable/internet) companies to choose from, they really have you over a barrel.

xoxoxo

@Cherylndesigns your afternoon with the girls sounds incredible-- pedis/food/drinks-- and I bet a lot of laughing.
Yes, take picture of your herbal jars! It must look liker a little apothecary on the counter

I have used ACDSee since 2007 or so- I used to work for them when digi-scrapping took off and people were collecting kits and wanted a way to organize their stash. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. I truly can't scrap without it. But the database tends to be unstable even after all of the new versions.
I wish there was something similar but I have yet to find something that works like it.

Hi All and hope you're having a lovely weekend!

My son hurt his back shooting an engagement video on a very rugged mountain trail, so I'll have to take all the stuff I've decluttered away myself. I took down several loads yesterday to my truck, and wouldn't you know, pulled something in my side. I had planned to take more today, then haul it all off to Goodwill tomorrow, but I may have to take only what I've already loaded, and the rest in several trips as I can. Goodwill isn't far from me, so not a big deal. Just hope I don't have to recuperate between each trip from pulling something here or there. Gosh, I am not liking old age!!

@faerywings Yes, I've known several other people like myself with severe reactions to both chemicals and electrical stuff. There are whole communities online for people with these problems, but I don't belong to any, as I don't like the daily reminder of the illness. Many, many people have these problems but aren't aware their illnesses are being caused by these factors. It took me years to figure it out.

So sorry your program is still crashing. I had to laugh though when I read "attaching a pillow to my forehead to prevent bruising as I bang my head against my desk." Maybe I should try that, to see if it would help my frustration over this clutter business, and aching side.

@BrightEyes I'm so glad to hear your dizziness is almost completely gone! I know firsthand what a relief that is. Glad your son and DIL will be visiting and you'll have some time with them.

@vickyday I sure hope you find some relief for those headaches. Wowsers! A 9lb cantaloupe! Oh, I love tommy toe tomatoes, especially the yellow and orange ones. I no longer grow anything since I'm in a third-floor apartment, but I grew tons of "tommy toes" when I gardened in the community garden where I lived before.

Well, it's time for another cup of tea and to tackle more clutter . . .

Morning, all. Talked to my sister yesterday..... as we were getting ready to hang up, she asked me what our mother's father's name was. He died in the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918 and my grandmother had mom 7 months later. I thought it was Wm Charles but realized as I was looking at the photos I had, that was mother's grandfather's name. Ended up spending time looking for where I had put Mom's birth and death certificate and couldn't find them. Then spent a few hours looking in mom's photo albums then finally - in a box of her photos - I found a photo of her father and on the back of it in her mother's handwriting was his name - Herbert, Sr! His middle name was Charles which is what lead to the confusion over his name. Her mother married a few months after mom was born so he was the father/granddad we all knew and loved. But the results of all this is a huge bunch of photos I have not scanned into the computer. I know I need to get it done and put IDs on them so my kids will know who they are and their relationship to us. Also found a bunch of photos of me when I was a child. Talk about a blast from the past! ! ! Sis and I ended up talking several times as the hunt for his name went on. Then I added the albums, boxes of photos to the non-scanned photo albums/photos that are stacked on the cutting table in the craft room... definitely need to keep the door to that room closed now!!! I will need to move the printer/scanner down from the top shelf of the desk to the desktop so I can more easily see when I start scanning the photos.

And talking about photos... I realized yesterday afternoon as I looked at the family wall of photos that DSon#1's photo there was a of him and his first wife. I looked through the photos I had of him and his 2nd wife and printed out one he sent of them the week they got married. Wanted it changed out as they will be here in about 10 days. So glad I thought about the photo and got it done.

I had to remember to cut my BP pills in half when I filled the week's pill box this morning. Yes, that seems to be helping a lot with the dizziness... but not the coldness/tiredness. So I will keep on resting, etc as needed. Of course that will slow me down on getting things done ... like scanning photos, working on the computer, etc.

Ended up having a PJ day yesterday to need to get my shower and get dressed.

I have so many photos to scan and I keep putting it off! Mainly because I couldn't figure out where they were being deposited on my computer after being scanned, but I finally figured it out a couple of months ago.....before I got sick with COVID. So, I guess that will be my next project to tackle!
