My gooodnesssssss! It is cold!!! It is 47* right now. *shivering*It is August and it is supposed to be hot.
However, I really shouldn't complain because at least the sun is out, I can't imagine what it is like to be on the TX/LA coast right now. I hope our O-fam is safe and as dry as possible.

Yesterday was relatively painless at the DMV and I was able to get one scrap LO done too. Today I am going to do some yard work. I miss my plants. A very quiet weekend here.

Happy weekend to you all!

Trudy- that is a lot that your Gary was planning on doing yesterday. I hope that he doesn't need too much Advil, but I hope that you stocked up just in case.
I know what you mean about looking at some of the other LOs for MoS- I was the same way with the Shape Shifter- there were so many other creative ways for me to arrange my photos, but didn't think of until after I posted mine :pound:
Yeah, this Dollar Store even has a freezer section. It is too bad it is kind of far from me- about 25 minutes. Between that and the Farmer's Market next door I could do a lot of my shopping for less money.
Oh no, I can't believe that there are even more wildfires. This poor Earth :(

Rae- Were you able to get all of your work done that you needed to do? How is the new laptop? Zipping along?
Yeah, I was trying to explain to Gary and convince myself that the scrapping is just for me to stretch my boundaries a bit but I still have that issue of feeling like I am falling short and not good enough. Guess that is just my nature hehe.

Jean- I am sorry that your meeting with your friend got canceled. That is really cool about researching the home that was deeded to the historical society. Must e fascinating to dig into the history of it all.
When I was in college, the house we rented was haunted (for real) and my one room mate and I went to the town hall to research the house and we found out a bunch of weird things- like it had been moved from one lot to another and that there was a huge chunk of lost ownership/deeds. Creepy but really neat at the same time.

Enjoy your day today!

good morning - I am back from my trip to South Carolina. And yes I saw the total eclipse. It was even better than I expected. There were clouds and the forecast was not looking good but as the time got closer the clouds parted and we saw the whole thing. It really is impressive. For those living where the next eclipse is going to be I really recommend going. For those of us here in the NJ and NY area we will have lots of places to visit and it is only seven years. We had such a good time. We saw the eclipse at my girlfriend's niece's home on Sullivan's Island and then spent the night there. Then on to Mt. Pleasant at the Cottages. Gorgeous. We each had our own bathroom LOL. Not one argument just fun and lots of laughter and reminiscing. I got one photo of the eclipse with my iPhone. Not professional but I am just happy it worked. Tried using glasses over the lens and not successful but fun to try. Charleston is gorgeous, good shopping, lots of history, amazing home and took a harbor cruise. I will be doing a book. One the last day though there was disgruntled restaurant employee who shot and killed his boss and held hostages in Charleston not near us but my son called to check on me so that was sweet but my DH and other son were oblivious to this news LOL. Flights on time and no problems in fact both planes arrived early. The boys and the dog and cat survived. Glad to be home and laundry done.

Chris I too cannot believe the low temps here in NJ. But love the sun! Glad things are going well for your. Have fun in the dirt!

Trudy your main guy sure keeps you and himself busy on the weekends. Hope you have plenty of advil. Sounds like you have been having fun with sisters and other family. You have not been home much but still sounds fun. Glad to read that Hunter is thriving and big brother is happy too!

Rae how fun you had Beckham again. Day care for Taz is always a treat for the puppies. My son took Luther yesterday and said there were 4 dogs waiting and quiet until Luther came in and started talking (probably demanding he go first) and then all were barking. Too funny. And he was zonked when he came home but happy to see me.

Jean sorry the meeting was cancelled. I love that you have you own home now - a place to do more research. Have fun.

Good to be back and hope that Texans stay safe!
Have a great day all!

Happy Saturday ladies! Its a sunny but cooler one here. Yesterday was pretty uneventful, I spent the major part of the day getting my layout done for the shapeshifter challenge. I had fun with this one! More my style I think, not really sure I have a style :becky: Not much to do today, just some errands to finish up and perhaps a bit of house cleaning. The yard needs some TLC too. I have been very neglectful at the O so I hope to spend a bit more time here today also.

Chris - Glad the sun is shining for you, but ohhhh it sounds chilly there!! I too am hoping that everyone who was in the path of the hurricane are all safe and sound! Nice to have a quiet weekend, soon everyone will be getting back to school and summer will be winding down. I love Autumn but feel like I missed a lot of our summer this year, well at least 6 weeks of it LOL. I wouldn't trade a minute of it though, I miss those baby snuggles and the fun play that Mason and I had. He is not too much into cuddling anymore, but once in a while I got to sneak one in LOL.

Rae - Hope the US rate was good for you to get your money! Or are you one of the smart ones that has a US account?? Hope you are relaxing at the trailer!! You deserve it my friend, you have been very, very busy!!

Jean - How interesting to be finding out the history of the building that was deeded to the historical society! You will have to let us know if come across anything really interesting about it! We had a old home that was converted into a restaurant/Inn just up the road that was haunted, but sadly it burned down last year  It was such a fun place to go and had a lot of great history.

Well off to get some breakfast for DH, he wants scrambled eggs this morning, so I think I might join him. I don't usually eat breakfast early in the morning, I am never usually hungry until around 10:30 or 11:00am. My tummy is rumbling this morning however, so I will get busy with eggs and sausages. I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!!

With the meeting cancelled I was happy to be FREE today, so we are off shortly for some birding on a lovely sunny (though slightly chilly) day.

Chris, glad your day was fairly smooth and today sounds like more of the same. Sorry it is so cold though.

Nancy, welcome back! We've been eager to hear all about it and will now look forward to your LOs. Sounds like a super time. Obviously you're glad you went.

Trudy, how's your MG today? Hopefully not needing more Advil. Seems these days we still have summer-like weather in September, so maybe all is not over.

Rae, bet you're enjoying some time off from work!

Later!

Good morning, ladies. We had a quiet night at the trailer, had a late dinner and then caught up on The Mist episodes. I wasn't energetic enough to scrap but got my laptop set up for scrapping tonight. We're heading out soon so Darrell can pick up a package in town at the PO and we'll grab a few groceries, then head back to the trailer to relax for the rest of the day. Looking forward to an afternoon/evening of nothing to do. We're going to watch the 3rd and 4th Twilight movies, starting at dinnertime today which will be perfect to watch while scrapping tonight. I'm also going to check pinterest and find a few new recipes to try this week. As far as work goes, I was able to get a decent amount of work done but it will take all week to get it all done. The good thing is that it will get a bit of extra money in my acct b/c at Xmas time there will be 2-3 weeks with little or work so it will balance out the finances a bit.

Chris - we've got much chillier mornings now too. I'm sitting here with an afghan and am still chilled. It's supposed to warm up quite a bit later though. Enjoy your yard work today.

Trudy - enjoy your breakfast and your relaxing day at home. I'm nervous to see what the last two MOS challenges will be LOL. Its been fun but so nerve wracking at the same time!

Nancy - welcome back and it sounds like a wonderful trip, especially seeing the eclipse.

Jean - hope all is well, I keep missing your posts so not sure what you've been up to.

I'm getting out of here, we need to go into town now. Have a great day everyone.

Happy Sunday lOvlies! Another really cold one here again. My fingers and toes are numb. I hope that it will warm up a bit. Again, I am grateful for the weather and wishing I could send these blue skies to the Gulf. Cripes, so many of the photos are awful and this is going to go on for days? Terrifying and heartbreaking. It's only been 5 years since we went through Sandy and every time it's a Storm of the Century and they keep getting worse. :(

Yesterday was quiet and good. I got to cuddle with my dogs and Cait's rats. I got to peek at Scott's snakes and Praying Mantis. She is now huge! I was out in the yard too. Mostly, I was cutting down all of the dying lilies of the valley, nothing exciting nor strenuous but good to be out in the yard. Gary made really delicious pizzas for dinner, too. All in all, all good day.

Today is going to be similar. Quiet day, I will be getting ready for a busy week and food shopping is tomorrow. And I guess there isn't much point in me putting my winter clothes in the attic. they have been piled in my room while I was waiting for a big enough box. Then I found a box and the cats have been sleeping in it. (My excuse for procrastinating) And now it will only be a matter of a month or so that I will be needed some of them.

May your day be a happy one!

Nancy- welcome back!!! Your trip sounds amazing, so much fun! I am so happy that you got to see the eclipse and to even get a picture of it. My IL's love going to Charleston too. OMG- I had heard about the shooting but didn't realize you were near there. Glad that at least one of your guys checked in with you LOL
How happy was Luther to see you? Bet that tail was wagging a mile a minute!

Trudy- I don't think that I have a scrap-style either. An eclectic mess? Would that count?
I hope that you were able to get all of your work done that you needed to do and have some down time as well.Caitlyn and I were talking the other day how we miss when Christopher was a baby and we could snuggle him non-stop. Now he is so busy!
Scott and Leah cooked eggs yesterday morning and they smelled so good that I asked Gary to make me an egg sandwich.

Jean- how did you do with your birding, were you able to see a lot of birds? My neighbor enjoys bird watching and when we were chatting, 2 kestrels (sp?) flew overhead. She said that we have a pair in the woods behind her house so maybe it was them. We could see one of them swoop down into the trees so quickly, like a blink of an eye.

Rae- I know that I have asked you before, but what channel is The Mist on? I am wondering if we have it On Demand at all. Right now we are almost done with Season one of The Americans. I think that there are 3 seasons on Amazon Prime? I am not sure. But I think we have a few more weeks of no new TV before the Fall Season starts so if that is true we will go through them quickly.
I am with you, the MoS is stressful and challenging and exciting and terrifying all at once bwuahahah!!

good late morning - poor Luther came back from his walk and barfed. Feel so bad for him when he is sick and can't tell you. Full of grass so you know his stomach is not feeling well. And yes he was glad to see me. My DH and I took him yesterday morning and he did well so not sure what happen ON. Though there was something in the yard last night and he was barking around 2am. My DH was deep asleep and did not hear I had to go and bring him in. My son was at a friends watching the Mayweather/MacGreggor fight. He said it was a real boxing match and that the MMA guy just did not have the conditioning. It went 10 rounds. Today is just watching baseball and Monday starts the US Open. But it will not be the same as both Murray and Novak are out with injuries and Serena is awaiting the birth. Maybe time for new tennis players to make their move. Got a lot scrapping done. I so love templates. It makes it go so fast and yet they look good.

Chris sounds like you had a great calm day and homemade pizzas. My DH made tacos. Yummy! Wonderful you had time with animals and with your plants. I too am wondering where summer went. But the low humidity is awesome! Enjoy the day!

Trudy wow it seems how you are so so busy. How sweet to cook for DH and how fun that he grills for you. Hope you have good weather and good for time for scrapping.

Jean how was birding. Turns out that there is awesome birding in Charleston area but we did not bring out binocs for this trip but now I have a reason to go back.

Rae your time at the trailer always sounds so relaxing. Enjoy!

Good morning, ladies. Had a wonderful evening at the trailer watching 2 Twilight movies and now we just need to watch the final one. Darrell started out playing on his ipad during the first half hour or so and then got right into the movie and watch it all with me, they were long movies and ran from 5:40 until after 11:30 pm. Managed to scrap a few pages but did end up getting too engrossed in the movies to scrap much. In the middle of the night the raccoons came back, woke us up, then back to bed only to wake up again as Taz went outside (forgot to close the slider) to bark at the raccoons. Then finally back to bed til 8:30. We'll be heading home in a bit, I'll get some desk work done this afternoon and then Jen is coming for a tea later. Tonight we'll be glued to the TV watching the Game Of Thrones finale.

Chris - we got The Mist on Spike but it might be on other channels,in other areas. Yum, homemade pizza. I need to try a keto friendly crust so I can have pizza.

Jean - hope you had fun birding.

Nancy - hope Luther is feeling better. Taz gets like that sometimes, never know why but it always passes quickly.

Trudy - hope you are having a relaxing day.

Have a great day, everyone.

:hello: my O friends!! Just popping in quickly as we are all packed up and headed to the In-Laws to spend the day on the beach. It's going to be a scorcher today, so the Lake is the place to be! I hope that you all have a wonderful Sunday, catch up with you all tomorrow. Oh BTW I finally got my MOS pages complete for this week and even made a page with the new Collab that hits the store tomorrow. It is such a beautiful collab!!

Yesterday was beautiful and we did enjoy some birding. Didn't really see a lot, but a few shorebirds, an Osprey and two Bald Eagles were good. We didn't have any great expectations, so that was really nice. I made dinner with microwaved ears of corn, something I only learned about this summer, but love doing. Watched the Browns win a third exhibition game but couldn't see the Indians winning at the same time. Definitely a nice day. Today DH back to all day football on TV, but that's OK.

Chris, yes, it's kestrels and it would be nice to have them around. So glad you had a good day yesterday. Agree it's pointless to put winter clothes away now. I'm sitting here in warmer things right now! Good luck with tomorrow's shopping.

Nancy, I love the pages you've done from your trip. Can't imagine going there without bins though. So, when are you headed back? Hope Luther's quickly over whatever upset his system. The tennis right now does seem to be looking for new talent. Wish some would show up from the US. Funny to remember when it was so great that that kid Nadal could finally sometimes beat the dominant Federer.

Rae, crazy with the raccoons still invading the trailer. Guess they live there more than you do! I'm sure you'll have another fun evening.

Trudy, can't imagine you've got so much heat! Know it'll be a great time at the beach.

Have a good one, folks!
