I feel like I should be singing "Oh what a beautiful morning!" it is that pretty outside. Cold inside, but the sun is going to warm it up in a while. I don't think that I see a cloud in the sky.
Good news about Cordelia- she came out of the sedation like a boss. We were only at the vet's for an hour and she was probably only sedated for 15-20 minutes or so. He had to shave a bit of her fur so he could use an ultrasound probe to get to the exact spot for the aspiration. The things you learn... but one thing I want to know is how tiny is an U/S for a rat?? Cait tried to google that, but it came up with links to ultrasonic rat repellent.
We had one terrifying moment about a half an hour after they took Dill to the back. The vet tech that brought her back came out into the waiting room holding a small cardboard box. Caitlyn and I looked at each other in horror thinking Dill was in it. We have no idea why our brains both went in that direction. It wasn't logical. I think that it might have been as a result of a woman who had brought her dog in to be euthanized while we were waiting, possibly? I was crying for the woman, how ridiculous am I? I cry over other people and their dogs? And I was *crying*, needing tissues and all. I could never, ever work at a vet's office. *shakes head* Nope.
By the time we got back home, Dilly was fine, fully out of the anesthesia and trying to wash the U/S goo off of her fur- which made the fur around her head stick up all over the place. Funny little rat fact: when they are under anesthesia, their eyes won't close so they need to have an ointment put over them so they don't get dry. Between the U/S jelly and the eye ointment, her fur was standing straight up into a mohawk. I don't know if Caitlyn got a picture of it but it looked hysterical!
We went out and did a bit of shopping with my mom. We didn't have much luck for clothes, but Cait was in *heaven!!!* She loooooooves Halloween and spooky decorations and bought a few new spooky dishes of skeletons and a Halloween travel mug. She uses these things year-round. I found a squeaky toy for Whisky- It was a whiskey bottle! For $4, I had to do it. Just had to even though it will be destroyed in no time LOL
Today, I hope to spend most of my time outside. The morning glory seeds are starting to be ready for collection and I need to keep working on bringing the rocks up front.
Hoping that everyone enjoys their weekend!
xoxo
