I feel like I should be singing "Oh what a beautiful morning!" it is that pretty outside. Cold inside, but the sun is going to warm it up in a while. I don't think that I see a cloud in the sky.

Good news about Cordelia- she came out of the sedation like a boss. We were only at the vet's for an hour and she was probably only sedated for 15-20 minutes or so. He had to shave a bit of her fur so he could use an ultrasound probe to get to the exact spot for the aspiration. The things you learn... but one thing I want to know is how tiny is an U/S for a rat?? Cait tried to google that, but it came up with links to ultrasonic rat repellent.

We had one terrifying moment about a half an hour after they took Dill to the back. The vet tech that brought her back came out into the waiting room holding a small cardboard box. Caitlyn and I looked at each other in horror thinking Dill was in it. We have no idea why our brains both went in that direction. It wasn't logical. I think that it might have been as a result of a woman who had brought her dog in to be euthanized while we were waiting, possibly? I was crying for the woman, how ridiculous am I? I cry over other people and their dogs? And I was *crying*, needing tissues and all. I could never, ever work at a vet's office. *shakes head* Nope.

By the time we got back home, Dilly was fine, fully out of the anesthesia and trying to wash the U/S goo off of her fur- which made the fur around her head stick up all over the place. Funny little rat fact: when they are under anesthesia, their eyes won't close so they need to have an ointment put over them so they don't get dry. Between the U/S jelly and the eye ointment, her fur was standing straight up into a mohawk. I don't know if Caitlyn got a picture of it but it looked hysterical!

We went out and did a bit of shopping with my mom. We didn't have much luck for clothes, but Cait was in *heaven!!!* She loooooooves Halloween and spooky decorations and bought a few new spooky dishes of skeletons and a Halloween travel mug. She uses these things year-round. I found a squeaky toy for Whisky- It was a whiskey bottle! For $4, I had to do it. Just had to even though it will be destroyed in no time LOL

Today, I hope to spend most of my time outside. The morning glory seeds are starting to be ready for collection and I need to keep working on bringing the rocks up front.

Hoping that everyone enjoys their weekend!
xoxo

Hello lOvelies,
Yay! It is getting to be that time of year again, I'm making jams!!!
We don't eat so much jam, so I made only one or two kind. And this year I'm chose to use my blackberries for that. I already dream for the family mornings with pancakes, during we watching through the window how the snow is falling thick and fast. :cool2:

Nancy, so you print photos, not photo books, or I'm mistaken?! Have a fun on the friend's birthday party!

Chris, your story makes me sad too. Poor lady! I completely understand you!
Great about Cordelia! We don't even have Halloween :spider:, but I like this decoration too. I have one cheap imitation of Mona Lisa which is one of these card that on different angle looks different and she become a skeleton. I keep her whole year long, because it's funny but also philosophical: even the beauty some day become a dust! I think maybe I'm saw how tiny is an U/S for a guinea pigs, but I'm confused what is U/S. Ultrasound Scan?! They use the same as for the kittens.

Felis- Hope that you are enjoying your day, I felt bad that I depressed you about how "Land of the Free" can sometimes be a bit of an irony. I wish I liked jam.. your scene of eating it on pancakes watching the snow outside sounds so cozy!
U/S-- yup, ultrasound scan. I would agree- has to be the same kind they would use on kittens. That would be a smarter google search.
The Mona Lisa skeleton sounds awesome!

Nancy- that is a bummer that you had to wait for your prints but when you love the result, it makes it worthwhile. I am sure that the family will love all of them too. Have a great time at dinner tonight!

Quick dash in and out this AM. Been working with the new MiniO kits. Got my challenge 5 - Hot page done... about my American Hot Tamales. The photo made me so hungry for them that I might have to go to the store for the stuff to make them! Thanks for the comment on it Chris... I am more than ready for fall to come. My granddaughter loves them so I think of her when I think of them.

Chris, glad that Dill came through the surgery just fine. Must have been a scary moment when you both thought she was gone.

Felis, we live in an Home Owners Association {HOA} community. Yes, they do have rules about maintaining your property as it helps keep up the value of the homes there. In another community where we lived there was no HOA and our neighbor just let his weeds get to be several feet tall. It affected the price of our house when we sold it. I don't always agree with some of the HOA rules but understand why there are rules. Many people chose to not buy if there is an HOA... so there are places to live without the rules.

Gotta run... have a good weekend everyone.

Good afternoon - well I got up late and then went to swimming. It was crowded today but that is good as it mean people are trying. The day is beautiful and Luther wanted to walk so that is good. Also he did great a doggie daycare as we had him groomed - they call it furminator service and they did get rid of a lot of hair and he smells so good. Now I am watching the Vuelta a Espana - it is just the first stage and this will run 21 days in the morning and then starting on Monday is the US Open tennis championship. Plus I have season 3 of 13 Reasons Why. This season is about solving a murder. My son has started it and he just really got sucked into it. Showed my DH my pages and he thought they were great.

Chris OMgosh these next few days are going to be some of the best weather days in NJ this year. We are getting a few clouds now but no humidity. Glorious. Should be great for sitting outside! Have fun harvesting your seeds. So glad that Dil made it out of surgery so well. And it is horrible to be at the vet when an owner pets does not go home with them. I would cry too!

Felis yes I do do photo books mostly but it really does depend on the number of pages. It is a set price for a book of 20 pages but after that it is /page. And also I am not sure which pages my son and DIL want or which her parents might want I don't want to do books with pages they don't want. We went on different excursion so they might not want those pages. How fun of you to make jam - blackberries are my DH's favorite. And eating pancakes while watching the snow fall - I hope you get to create a scrap page featuring those photos! Thanks for posting your pages!

Kay I thank you for sending us your weather. My son is just so used to turning on the AC he did when he came home. I had to yell at him to turn if off. Your hot tamales sound yummy.

Waving to all - have a great day!

Beautiful morning #2 in a row! Cold but pretty. I had to take Ray outside around 6 am and got to see a bit of the sunrise and moon setting.
I am darn tired right now, I didn't sleep all that good but I am sure that once I get moving, I will feel a bit better.

I was able to get some housework done yesterday morning and then spent a couple of hours outside. It makes me sad to be cutting back the dying flowers but I know it means that they will come back strong next year. The ferns that I planted along the hedges have taken root and are sending out new leaves. I can't think of the correct word- fiddleheads, I think? It is cool watching that, as they unfurl themselves.
Dill's abscess area is very lumpy so Caitlyn called and we are bringing her back on Monday afternoon if it isn't any better. It might just be swelling from being poked and prodded *fingers crossed*

Today, I have to get ready for the week ahead, it is another busy one. Gary hasn't noticed any difference in all with the diet so he is going to give it another week and probably stop. That will make food shopping/meal planning easier but I am sad that it didn't work. If I "behave" with my indoor work, I am going to spend more time in the yard. I wish I could bottle up this beautiful sunshine for the days that it is cold, dreary and dark.

I hope that the sun is shining where you are too! xoxo

Kay- The new Mini-Os are amazing!! The colors-- just delish! I will have to look for your pages using them.
Did you make your Hot Tamales?

Nancy- Must have been weird with the pool being crowed after having it to yourself the other day. hahaha!! That is such a great and funny name-- furminator! Ray could use that. You will have lots to keep you occupied on the TV while you scrap.
I hope that Luther gets out for a walk- it is good weather to do that.

hugs!

good afternoon - well this day is gorgeous. A little breeze and some fair weather clouds and sun and low humidity. How great is that! Last night had a great time celebrating our girlfriends birthday. The food was so good. Just ordered appetizers as the full meals are so big. We were there over 3 hrs. LOL. Today got Luther out for a good walk. On the walk we met the cutest 4 month old German Shepherd puppy. She and Luther got on very well. But what a difference from the energetic puppy to a 4 year old grown dog! We got to see a great blue and an egret. Love seeing birds. Today is just eating left overs.

Chris this weather is so awesome! Glad you got outdoors. My girlfriend's daughter found out she has celiacs and the doctor told her it would take at least a month for a change in diet to help as there was probably so much damage in the gut and intestines it would take a while for it to heal. Maybe Gary just needs that time too! I know it is the pits for you shopping. Have fun outdoors.

Kay have fun with the new mini Os.

Have a great day all!

Good morning girls,
yesterday grocery shopping was in away town, where we usually go to visit also the candy shop. So the trip was lot of fun. And the pet stuff was on deal, just a perfect shopping!
My mom force us to make some pics, which to send to her friend, and it was really confusing as usually only tourist or vloggers makes photos. Lots of peoples was staring at us, and dad even pretend that he don't know us, but we had lots and lots of laugh. :photo:

Kay, when people have a chance to choose, this is freedom you are right and I'll correct my opinion about that. I found a lot of people that think rules are something necessary even good, as if they are never learn history, or just prefer to forgot it. It's strange also how in the modern life house is become not a home, but active, investment, which is so easy to be replaced. But still I found all these norms for disappointing and exhausting. The society have a power to tell us how your daughter should looks like, what social status have your boyfriends to have, and even how to looks your house. I don't see why your neighbor can be a factor in house sale, except in case when he is registered sexual abuser, but everything else shouldn't have meaning for the others.
Anyway! Let's concentrate on something bright. your Tamales looks gorgeous and so yummy! I had to check did they are something we also made and I like a lot, but not it's not. We don't use corn husks, but cabbage or vine and cook it in clay saucepan. And Tamales can be filled with lot more things. Sounds really yummy!

Chris, till now you are probably found the video of ultrasound scan of pregnant guinea pig, so cute, isn't it? my mom was doing the same. Lots of withered flowers. And she was complaining that don't see any of the autumn flowers. I repeating that these seeds packs never actually works, but she continued to try every spring. The first yellow leaves are on the cherry tree already, and I hope that the nice weather is close  .
Keep us updated about the sweet rat, please! And fingers crossed and good vibes from here!
Hmm, are you sure that Gary can judge did the new diet works in so short period? The other girls are more familiar with the food habits, but this sounds just too quick for me?! It's sounds more like he try to not makes you difficulty.
Oh, see Nancy is told it already. ITA!

Nancy, love to read about your day! Oh, yes the little ones are so much energetic. Personally I prefer to keep adult cats, when they have their own life and don't needs so much play. Oh, yesterday we was driving near to one swimming pool and it's parking was so full too. I'm not sure it's fun to soak with so many other bodies, as they definitely can't swim at this crowd. But it was so hot so I understand this rush! Hope you was able to do your exercises!

Last week of the month is always busy, but I wish you nice one, girls! :thumb:
