Where is the morning off to? I can't believe it is almost 9 already.
I had such a fan-tab-u-lous day yesterday. OMG I adore my godson!

(Editing to say that it is now an hour later! )

In the last hour, I scooped litter boxes, spoke to my mom, emailed the newspaper service (after having to reset passwords) b/c I didn't get my paper, and then spent some time trying to chase the mama bear and cubs away from my garbage. When I dumped all of the chips from the cabinet with the mice- some reason it didn't make it into the food/bear can. So the mama and cubs were having a grand time on my patio digging out chips and ramen. All the while, Jaida and Ray are barking their heads off and racing around the house and I am trying to keep J from running... And I will admit, I was trying to get some pics of the bears, so darn cute!

Anyway, I still have not had any b-fast and the energy for my day is shot. hahahah!!

Back to how freaking adorable my godson is!! I LOOOOOOOVE him! He let me hug and kiss him and he held my hand, and told me he loved me. We took selfies on the little train ride too. I think we got a couple of cute ones in there.

Today -- yikes man. I don't even know where it went or is going. I am going to sign off for now. As always. I wish i could spend more time with you all but real life (ugh!) calls.

Morning ladies... I was MIA again yesterday, I have been getting a laptop ready for my DD. Her's died the other day and FIL was very generous and gave her his. He never used it and it is like brand new. So trying to load a few things on it that she wants and of course had to wipe out what ever FIL did have on it. So we are very thankful to him for sure! Also DD got a new washing machine, they gave them a great deal on a new one as the old one gave them so much trouble. She is happily getting her laundry all done this weekend. Lets hope that is it for things going wrong for her!

Chris - LOL you have already had a busy day! Hope the bears did not make too big of a mess to clean up! Please keep your distance, so many horror stories of Mama Bears attacking to protect their young ones! I am sure you are much wiser than some of the idiots that feed the bears around here and then they wonder why they get aggressive :loco: How wonderful that you had such a nice visit with your godson!! Love all those hugs and kisses and I am really missing mine! Mason asks if GEEGEE is coming to his house to play when ever we Skype... it breaks my grandma heart!! :hurt: I wish they lived closer!! My other grands are off to Tofino this weekend to do some camping with their mom and dad. But I should get to see them next weekend when DS brings the family to pick up the sailboat and tow it to their new home. So there is that to look forward to.

We are off to Naniamo today to have lunch with DH's Uncle Walter and his wife. His Uncle is only 3 years older than him and they have always been very close. They are moving off the Island and headed to the Interior to live to be closer to the rest of their family. We will miss them, but totally understand their decision to leave. We hope it won't be too long before we see them again. Better get going and get ready. Hope you all have a fabulous Saturday!!

nancy- :pound: Luther was not happy at the Suds- that is too funny about him yelling at you! Like toddlers sometimes, aren't they :D Hope that you and DIL had a nice day out and saw some cool birds.

Rae- just reading about your morning made me both exhilarated and exhausted! So much stuff done by 9am!
If we had to move to CA- you'd better believe it would be West Coast! I am no good in the cold and would love to have the company of you and Trudy. I keep telling Gary that CA isn't going to want us...

Jean- I know you understand about the Medicare debacle Part D is. :vent:
Hope the phone and internet issues were fixed quickly.
A woman asked if I wanted her to take a pic of my brother, Christopher and I, and she kind of looked at it, like it was really odd! It is kind of a mess, but it works better than nothing :)

Gotta fly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, sister's phone line was repaired yesterday as promised. I had "nudged" AT&T with the fact that she has a medic alert on the line, so that may have helped get it done. I'm trying to remember yesterday otherwise but drawing a blank. Today probably more of the same. Still watching Olympics but realizing they're almost over.

Chris, I would be scared of the bears! As Trudy said, please be careful. (But did you get pix?) Hope a little energy comes back today. So super that you could enjoy yesterday with that little sweetie.

Trudy, how nice you can fix up the laptop for DD. Sorry you're missing them so much, but Mason is so lucky to be able to Skype with you all the time. I'm sure you'll have another lovely day.

Hope everyone is having a nice summer weekend.

OMgosh the afternoon is almost gone and finally I am catching a break. Got up and got Luther to the vet for his check up and sure enough there were lots of dogs and cats in the waiting room because of two emergencies so we ended up waiting 90 min just to see the vet and Luther is doing great so we are on the correct path except that Luther does not like the vet's dog food and has dropped 6 lbs. So we were off to Cherrybrook and bought him new grain free, potato and chicken free food. We now transition him to this food. He will have a great selection as this brand comes in duck, turkey, salmon and lamb. So when he gets bored with the lamb we can switch it up. Then came home for a quick lunch and out again as I had bought milk and it had a date of Aug 24 and it was spoilt when I opened. bummed. Had a great day with Amanda and saw lots of birds. None were new but love seeing birds no matter what. We did have a sharp-shin hawk fly by a car window level and that was awesome and there were lots of Ospreys which I think are gorgeous! Got lots of photos but I have to finish up the cruise album first. The best news was that they are both trying to stop smoking! They have cut down quiet a bit and I could tell that she is really trying. We then went to Smithville and had fun looking through the stores. Bought some hand made soaps.

Chris so glad you had such a fun time! Being around kids is so much fun! And your start for the day was pretty amazing with mommy bear and cubs! I hope you got photos safely! And hope you got some food! Coffee is not enough!

Trudy hope you have a lovely time with your MG uncle and wife. Awesome that your father in law gave the computer for your daughter. And she has a new washing machine awesome!

Jean glad the phone was fixed swiftly. I too can't believe how fast the Olympics have gone. It has been fun!

Have a great day all!

Good afternoon, ladies. I went out at 7:30 this morning to the gardens with a friend and within minutes of arriving the heat started to climb. Holy moly...it got hot! The sweat was just running down our faces as we were trying to take photos. But....it was so worth it. I finally got a few great hummingbird shots, a few good bee/flower shots and at the end I played with my lensbaby a bit and got a few good shots with it too. It sure made a difference shooting with my long zoom lens on a tripod with a ballhead (just picked that up last week) so that the camera moved around much more smoothly. What a fun morning. Coming home at lunchtime, I was so hot I felt nauseous and tired. So after loading the photos onto the computer I lay on the couch, watched The Young & The Restless (hubs and I watch it regularly) and dosed off and on for an hour. Now I'm up, sipping on a vanilla/caramel iced coffee and feeling much more refreshed. I am loving our A/C today :)

Chris - I understand about wanting to try to get pics of the bears. They are fascinating to watch, I just want to use my zoom and keep a bit of distance from them. I know they rarely attack, but since it happened a few minutes from our home, it does make me nervous.

Nancy - hope Luther likes the new brand of food. With Taz's severe allergies and pickiness, we are happy to have found a food he likes (Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Sweet Potato and Fish) which we mix with a raw fish dog pate. Our little boy has gourmet taste!

Trudy - enjoy the lunch this afternoon.

Going to go get some editing done now and watch a bit of TV later, maybe have a nap before dinner. It's that kind of day :) Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Happy Sunday, sweethearts!
I am really glad that I have no major plans today, because wow I hurt. I woke up really early and kept trying to roll from side to side except my backs and hips were having *none* of it. Can you relate? Ugh...

The bears were around most of the day and the highlight as seeing the 2 cubs hanging out in our little garden pond. Gary tagged me in the video on FB but maybe this link will work? https://www.facebook.com/gary2/videos/10155164887059616/
They were seriously sooooo cute!!! Our pond is maybe 3'x4' if that so you can get a sense of how small they were.
Highlight of my day- 100%

Sadly my brain was running around willy-nilly along with Jaida as she barked from window to window every time the bears came close. I got a little of this done, a lot less of that. Aside from getting ready for food shopping tomorrow, I have to take it easy or I am never going to be able to make it through the next 2 weeks. Every darn day we have stuff. And this is where Captain Caffeine comes in! :cof2::cof1:

I hope that everyone is having a relaxing weekend doing whatever it is you love!

good morning - for some reason I could not fall asleep and tossed and turned all night finally around 6:30 got up and gave Luther breakfast and meds and then on a good walk. Later he goes for his bi-weekly bath. After that I may do laundry or I may just veg. LOL Watching the final day of the Olympics.

Chris those bear cubs are too cute but I would not want them in my backyard LOL. I bet the dogs were going crazy. I hope mommy bear knows yours is a friendly home. Good luck at the grocery store.

Rae your photography walk sounds so nice even it was sweltering. We are supposed to have a great week once the rain goes through today. Low humidity and low to mid 80s.

Jean and Trudy hope your weekend is going well

Have a great day all!

Trudy- yes, thank goodness for FIL- if heather is w/o a computer, that would mean no Facetime or Skype with Mason :(
I am knocking wood furiously that nothing else breaks on her (for me as well ha!)
At one point, the bears had gone off to the side to eat some of the chips and I ran out on the patio, scooped up as many of the backs of chips I could, even covered in bear slobber as they were, and brought them inside to my kitchen garbage which will then go into the bear can.
I love seeing them, but I never want to encourage them to eat people food.
I wish that heather could move closer to you, there is no way they would consider it?

Jean- whew! Good that your sister's phone got fixed, and great idea to mention the medic alert.
I'm trying to remember yesterday otherwise but drawing a blank.

hahahah! So glad this isn't just me :D

Nancy- BTDT with wait times for the vet from emergencies, but also BTDT being the one causing the emergency. Great news that Luther is responding to the allergy formula ans hopefully with a food that he likes, he will gain that weight back.
Wish i could drop 6lbs that easily heehee!
Good and high fives for the kids quitting smoking. I quit 20+ years ago, had a few relapses but my lungs are much happier, and so is my wallet. I still get cravings esp when I am (extra) stressed, but I guess that will always be in the background.

Rae- I saw some of the hummingbirds photos and holy moly is right and I mean that about the pics, not the heat!
Did you feel better after being in the AC for a while?

Hugs to all of you!

Good morning, ladies. Woke up early this morning. Beckam was doing his quiet warbly chatter at me as he lay up against the closet door and kept tossing and turning, banging the door so that woke me up and figured I might as well get up. Plus, I forgot to give him his pills before bed last night so got up and gave them right away to him. The pills helps with the itchy skin he has. Of course, now that I'm up, he's snoring beside my office chair LOL. I'll stay down here on the computer with the dogs so my hubs can get a bit more sleep upstairs. Yesterday was just too damn hot here. I was so happy to get back into the house after my photowalk yesterday morning which was fun but I got a bit too much sun and heat and felt drained when I got home. I was kind of a slug all day after that. Thankfully, it cooled off a bit by 7 so went out, grabbed some deli for dinner and took the dogs to the park. They didn't really have a lot of energy either so we didn't stay long. I spent the evening lying on the couch with the dogs and catching up on Mr. Robot. No big plans today, other than maybe a few short dog walks and a trip to the market.

Chris - the cubs are adorable, splashing around in the water. It's scary though how comfortable they are coming into the yard like that and hanging out. Hope you get some rest today and feel better. I was so happy to have gotten the hummingbird shot. They move so quick and never stayed in an area more than a minute or two.

Nancy - me too, up early. I usually sleep til around 7:30 or 8:00 on a wkend but up at 6 this morning. Hope the no smoking goes well for the kids. I quit 20 yrs ago (everyone in my family smoked back then) and my youngest daughter and stepdaughter still smoke.

I'm going to get off the computer and get some CT work done. I think this afternoon will be a lazy one and maybe I'll lay on the couch and watch a few more shows with my hubs. The car show is today and as much fun as it would be to get out and see the old cars, I think it's going to be too hot out. We'll see, maybe, if the temps aren't as high as yesterday, the streets they closed off are just a few blocks away from us so we wouldn't be out too long.

Anyway, I need to grab another coffee and get on with my day. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
