Happy weekend!
I am so tired right now but at the same time, pretty jazzed
Too much coffee IMHO.
But I have good news. I found my dress! The dress shop was swanky but the owner was so darn nice and helpful. I tried on a ton of dresses and some of them were just stunning. I had two top choices and they were completely different from each other, then down to one. But I kept going back to the OG blue one I saw at David's Bridals. That was the one that was discontinued but possibly one available in CT. Scott was still insisting that he would drive me to get it if that was the one I wanted. When we got back home, we looked at David's website for that shop's phone number and the dress was available online again! There were only three available in my size and now the pressure was *on!*
Cait and are texting people side by sides, going back and forth, and then we did it! We clicked Add to Bag and Complete Order. Hand over hand, like we used to do things when she was little. ♥
Of course, because nothing I can do can be easy on the brain, I woke up at 2 am in a panic that what if the skirt can't be hemmed to my height? I have 7 days to return the dress so I am going to need to get my butt over to the dress shop around the corner to make sure but after looking closely at the hem again, it should be fine.
I am going to spam, you all with the pictures. Hope you don't mind. Scroll on by if you do
The one on the left is the one I fell in love with yesterday There were lace and mesh sleeves that we didn't like and you can see how Caitlyn erased them on her phone. LOL! It was fun and floofy and blingy. It was also twice as much as the one on the right. Even though my mom told me not to worry about the price, it is a factor.
This is me wearing a dress that was $1000. It was just stunning but $1000, plus alterations? Not happening. SMH
This was the #2 runner-up dress. I would have never in a million years tried this one on my own. Ignore my socks. Caitlyn said I looked like Jessica Rabbit in Blue. It really looked amaizing but not "me."
It was fun to play dress up and that kept my mind off that Scott and Sam are signing the lease when they get back home. The move-in date will be mid-September. Scott called Caitlyn the other night to tell her directly, he had asked us to wait until he knew for sure. It was also the same day as her house contract fell through and he didn't want to throw salt in the wound. She is happy and sad and so is he. Same as me and Gary.
Today and every day, I am grateful that I have the most incredible family ever
