DONEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't I say I was *done* yesterday? Then why am I still here yelling DONE!?!? :pound:
Sad thing about being *done* is that you can yell about it all ya want, and it doesn't change a darned thing.

Rant ahead, feel free to put your fingers in your ears and tune me out. *pulls out soapbox, climbs up by my fingertips*

By the time I took Cait to her appt, my arm was getting much redder and swollen, I knew I had to go to the ER. I had me "Off to the ER" bag packed with my ipod, a sweatshirt, a book, and my water bottle. I had on a sports bra- no metal- in case they needed a chest x-ray. Tank top in case they needed to put in a new line. To say that I have this down, that is an understatement.
I had gazillions vials of blood and cultures taken. Some of the blood had to be drawn into these little bottles that looked like airplane alcohol bottles. At least they did to me... I told the nurse and phlebotomist they they did, then said-- this one *points* looks like red wine, and that one-- makes me think Strawberry margarita!

PICC was very infected so it pulled and new PICC placed in other arm. It took three tries and and she hit a nerve and I thought I was gonna hit the ceiling! But it was my fault, I asked her to use a vein higher up on my arm. I had to drip vancomycin for 2 hours. They started me out with a faster drip, so as soon as my scalp started to itch, I had to have them slow it down. I was on vaco before so I knew the signs.
I didn't get home until after 4pm but I have an awesome DD! Cait had texted me that if I wasn't home before she went to work to stop on my way home. Her boss wasn't there, so she made me a cannoli to bring home. *And* she made a pina colada for me too. She makes yummy virgin pina coladas for herself but she made some with Malibu for me with a sign on the pitcher- 21 and over. She is the BEST!

I am exhausted, both arms are sore, and my god, I am cranky!

On my plate for today is that I have to drive down to the pharmacy (30 mins away) to pick up more vanco, which I will be dripping 2 times a day. But the catch is that I don't know if the dr called in saline bags. I have 100mL and 1000mL bags but I think I am going to need 250mL. Why does Lyme/meds have to be so confusing????

My friend down the street is having her crayfish party today and I really really hope to be able to get there for a bit in between IVs. Gary suggested that I stay home and relax, but I *need* to get out and do something non-medical related. NEED to. My BFFATS offered to drag me down in her little red wagon and I might take her up on that :pound:

Can you imagine that? Me, sitting in a red wagon, with my IV pole, rolling down the street with a bottle of wine in hand????? hahah!!! If that should happen (doubtful, as it is), I will make sure someone takes a picture :camera:

I hope that all of you have fantastic days, and thank you for letting me blabber on again.

PS: A bit of good thoughts to me and my mom. She called me last night to say hi, and asked how I was and I said "Fine." I was too tired to get into it, but as soon as I hung up, I said to Gary that I just opened up a can o' worms with that. I am going to call her this morning to tell her what is up, although if I know my mom, she already knows something is up, she always does. whee, fun!

A new puppy!!! Sharon, those are words that make me happy!!! I cannot wait to see pictures and LOs!!!Jaida was Lil Pup for *days* until we could find a name that suited her. We even had lists and votes. hehe!!!
Did you make it through ok babysitting? How awesome of you to keep a first safe for her parents. I hope that you have *nothing* but relaxing on your schedule today.

Nancy- Happy birthday to DS's GF! How nice to have a family party for her. Your nails and hair are making me jealous, but I bet you feel great!

Well, Chris, all I can say is how impressed that you have an ER bag packed and ready to go. That made a big impression as to all you have to endure. I hope you are able to make it to the party...little red wagon or not! But a picture of you in the wagon would be priceless.

Good decision to not tell your mom about all this AT NIGHT! If you need to share details about this sort of thing, better to do it early in the day so she has time to process it before going to bed. That's the sort of thing that keeps moms awake at night.

First Puppy layout is posted. (https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/s...9&title=anna-color-lift-07-31-15-luna&cat=all) Her name is Luna. They had taken her out for "business" the night before during the full moon, and the name just arrived! I like it. The younger kids are still nervous about her (puppies bite!), but the big surprise is that Melaina is stoked about her! Melaina has never liked dogs...has, in fact, been disdainful of them!

Clara did not walk yesterday, and wouldn't even do her little standing up from the center of the room for me. For awhile all 4 kids were home (while their dad did some work in his office), and it was so precious to see them ALL playing quietly together on the floor in the family room. Clara pestered each of the boys at one time or another, but they just lived with it, and never got angry or even frustrated. I love the MagnaTiles they have. They ALL love them, from 1-year-old Clara all the way up to 11-year-old Connor. They are very expensive, but bring great pleasure for many years...lots of imagination without all the dinky pieces of Legos (of which they also have a TON!).

It was soooooooooooo hot yesterday. DS is having air conditioning installed next week, thank goodness. I came home (to my air conditioned house) after babysitting for 6 hours, then driving in near gridlock (averaging about 20 mph on the freeway) for nearly an hour (usually takes 30 min. or less), collapsed in my recliner, and fell asleep. Glad my biggest job today is cleaning my glasses! LOL

All that said, I'm looking forward to the new challenges...the best part of a new month starting.

EBay and PayPal are refunding my money and cancelling the "sale" of the doll, and I now have a bid on another one. Bidding stops at 3 tomorrow afternoon. Praying I get this one. I've already had contact with this seller, and feel confident that all will go smoothly if I win.

More hot hot hot ahead. I can't believe I'm even THINKING this, but I'm ready for some rain! =:O It is one thing to have this kind of weather for a week or two, or while vacationing, but living with it for months is not fun any longer. The webs between our Pacific Northwest toes are drying out! LOL

Stay cool!

Oh, Sharron, sorry about the doll & sure hope you win the bid on this one. And your LO of Luna is so adorable. Yes, it is so fun to have a whole new set of challenges.

Chris, I thought of you when I read this comic strip in the paper: http://pajamadiaries.com/ about test results. Little did I know what you had in store for you yesterday. If you go in the LRW we MUST have pictures! You amaze us all with your resilience. Love your Lucy LO!

Hopefully today will continue uneventful for me.

Great weekend wishes to all. :choclove

And on the 7th day, (S)he shall rest!
Hope no one minds that I am stealing a line from the Bible, it is done tongue in cheek. But I guess that if even God needed to rest, the Faery should too. As much as I *hate* to admit that :D

Yesterday went as expected. Long, somewhat successful, someone frustrating. Typical day for me. Of course, the saline bags weren't onthe Rx, so the pharmacy is ordering the right size, but has to wait until Monday to get the actual Rx from the dr. How ridiculous is it that saline-- salt water!- has to be Rx'd? But it does, so whatcha gonna do? We have the big bags, so we drained out 500mL, put two vials of abx in the rest and I dripped 250mL as soon as I got home and the other 250 when I got home from the party.

Gary was hesitant about me going, he thought it would be better for me to stay here and take it easy, but I *had* to get out of the house. I brought my big water bottle, wore Cait's straw hat. I felt like I should have been drinking mint juleps at the races rather than a beer at a crayfish party LOL
When I got home I told him how wonderful it felt to talk about puppies and colleges and peanut allergies. I needed that so much to make me feel "human" again.

The talk with my mom went way better than I expected. At the same time, I knew that she knew something was up, so when I called her, she was prepared for a longer story than "Hi, how are you?" She thought that I was worried about the work done on the car/expense. True- but that was secondary in my mind. She was slightly upset that I didn't call her, she would have met me at the ER. I knew she would have. Cait and Gary both offered too, it was not that I felt I was alone. It was easier to be alone, with my headphones and Jamie and Claire. heh!!
She is squeamish and would have flipped out when they put my new line in, although she was good when she came with me last year the time my line was blocked. She just walked out of the room. She understood why I waited and also said that she would not have been able to sleep. Do I know my mom? All too well, cuz I am so much like her!

Today I am going to take it easy which I don't have much choice in the matter with more IV's to be done.
Hoping that all of you have a very happy day today!

Sharon!!! Congrats on the new Walker in your family!!!!!!! I bet everyone is breathing a sigh of relief, even though they all knew it would happen when she was ready!
magnatiles- my kids had something like that, why can I not think of the name? But they loved them, and it was so much easier to manipulate then legos, although they have them too, like your grands.
UGH on the traffic getting home, and I am happy that you got to rest, although I see you got scrapping done. Luna is a great name for her, isn't it perfect when a name just sticks like that? I will be stalking your gallery later. So sorry to hear about the ebay stuff. Good luck with the new Ebay listing!

jean- that comic is too funny!!!! Sounds very familiar! I poked around her website and she is a crack-up. I think I found another new humor outlet.
I didn't go down in the LRW nor did I get a picture of my in my hat. Next time!

Hugs to everyone!

Yesterday was nicely quiet. I'm working on an article about a relative long ago who remained single and went off to town (from the farm) as a domestic servant/housekeeper the rest of her life. I keep doing more research on the family as I go and made some interesting finds. I feel a need to record her life as there are no descendants to do it, in fact it's looking like there are no members of her family any more at all. Her father was a brother of my ancestor is how I know of her.

Chris, so glad you enjoy the humor from the Pajama Diaries cartoonist. Glad you got away to spend "human" time yesterday. Rest today sounds just right for you!

Sharron, I commented on the Walking LO, but again, cheers for Clara!

First steps sounds like a great thing to celebrate for any of us. :clap2:
