Happy weekend everyone!

I slept pretty darn good last night (thank all the gods!!!!). I made it to almost 6 am, stayed in bed until 6:30. yahoooo!!!
And more thankfulness- I have a relatively quiet weekend. Today I am going to Gary's grandma's 87th birthday "party." She has Alzheimer's and her party will consist of some cupcakes and soda and the nursing home. But she is really cool, is great in the moment--- very alert and will talk to you even if she has no idea who you are. In fact, she will actively pretend that she knows you and will have an appropriate response, even if it is incorrect. But it is all good- she is happy and loves chocolate. I made her some Hyacinth scented soaps and a Hershey bar as a gift. She will love that :)

I am also doing some house stuff-- the clutter is getting to me!-- and maybe some yard work, if I can move a bit later on. I worked yesterday, then came home to some really nice weather. Spent some time uncovering some plants from the leaves, and really hurt afterwards.
Laurie-- hot tub time, please!!!:D

Hopefully when the kids all go back to school on Monday, I will feel somewhat caught up on life again. I can hope, eh???

Who has good plans this weekend? Not so good plans count as well!

::grouphug

Make it a great one!!!!!

That's great Chris you slept so good! Have a nice 'party' and good luck with the house stuff!!

I got up early but went back to bed later in the morning, I was so tired ... The kids are playing games on the WII now and I'll take a shower and after that we are going outside, the sun is shining so I'll take them to the playground for a while. Already charging the battery for my camera :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone

From Froday:

kristi- cups of tea coming up!! I like tea too, but coffee in the am for me is mandatory
Hoping for a relaxing weekend with your DH before he has to leave :(

Angela- ugh on those phone calls..... Hope that things get settled for you soon. Did you and your mom have a nice visit?

Nancy- woo hoo on NJ weather!!! Its about time!!!!! Never feel bad about life being good for you. It all goes in cycles and sadly, the down cycles hit everyone. I am sure that you have been through stressful times too and you came out of it-- that is what we love to hear too! Gives us hope that the bad time do and will end :)
Have a great time at the game today, down close.

Sally, you know I love your joy and cheer!!! xoxo

Trudy-- hugs! And yes, Petra ROCKS!!! yay P!!!
Love your challenge with Sandra/Studio 68!! I had fun telling my story and I loved reading everyone else's.
*fingers crossed* for you for the Bank job!!
hugs and coffee and love back to you!! And you know what else would help?? How is your yard doing? Blooming at all yet?? Would love to see some pics again. Its sooo pretty!!

Phyllis- hugs to you! I can understand the not wanting to as opposed to being able to scrap block. I feel that way sometimes too, and being on the CT here, it kind of forces me out of it, sometimes I feel like i am kicking and screaming with it. LOL
You know what is best for you and your brain-- and your eyes- but I hope that the mojo comes back at some point. I love seeing your art.
Is the endoscopy just a routine one? (no need to answer if I am being to nosy) -- good thoughts for a smooth show of it (no pun intended, not really... LOL)

to everyone who stops by--

good morning - went for a walk yesterday and wow everything is starting to bloom. The daffodils are up and magnolias are starting to bloom. But of course today this morning temp is just 35. But tomorrow it should be in low 60s. But this spring weather also means that my weeds are growing faster than my grass. I have start working on getting rid of them. Also got mad at the blanket I was making and took it all apart. It was coming out more like a long shawl than a blanket LOL. That is the good thing about knitting just pull it all apart and start over. Going to the Devils game tonight and being close to ice should be so fun.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning O fam- off to dance this am for the first time in forever! It will be rusty for sure. Chris the hot tub is turned on- After dance we are getting mulch and I am going to put it down while my husband (and son- maybe) work in the basement. I am not sure if my son is rolling the lawn today instead of the basement. Just a little tension here- my husband came home after noon yesterday and he was still sleeping. Not a good thing. I pray that he figures out how to progress with his life now that he is jobless. Okay off to dance!!

It's going to be a beautiful day here! Great golfing weather. In fact, Craig already left to go golfing. I have a few things I would like to do before I even think about hitting the golf course---like do our taxes!

Mom had a really rough day yesterday. She started experiencing bad right hip pain three days ago and it really got the best of her yesterday. This is not the hip that was replaced. Since she had a follow up appointment with the orthopod, I talked to him about the pain and he gave her an injection. Hope this takes care of it. I was able to get her days in the hospital extended until next Saturday. She has a lot of work to do in a week! Hopefully, the extra days will get her a little bit more mobile.

My sister came back from her vacation yesterday. We worked out a schedule for visiting mom--she's going to visit today, Sunday and Monday and Friday. Since she works on Tues., Wed.,Thurs. and Saturday, I will visit on those days. Should be an easier week for me.

I'm hoping to get a little scrapping in this week.

Have a great weekend all!

yay for good sleep!! i slept from 10 until about 4, then fell asleep again. i should be good to go today. glad you got a good night's sleep, too, Chris! it sounds like a more relaxing weekend than usual for you, so enjoy! the Endo is sort of routine. i'll be glad when it's over with.

Angela, enjoy the sunshine and take lots of pictures!

Nancy, nothing much is coming up out of the ground here yet. although haven't been out in my back yard for a while, so maybe the daffodils are starting...at LAST! have fun at the game!

Terry, sorry to hear that your mom is still in pain. i thought she might have been feeling a bit better because she looked so good in the photo. glad that your sister will he available to chip in. that's got to make a difference for you!

Kristy, hang in there. sorry that your DH will be heading out tomorrow.

Laurie, good luck with your son. i think it's so hard to have the grown ones around. at our house, when that happened, everyone just got on everyone else's nerves. have fun dancing!! i can't believe you're putting down mulch already. i am still not trusting that it's stopped snowing for the season!

i did some baking for my daughter this a.m. and will be driving into the city to deliver the apricot rolls to her in an hour or two. that's my Big Happening for the day. gotta make some guacamole to have with the tacos and burritos for dinner tonight. other than that, NO idea what will be going on. it's too early, cold and muddy to be doing any yard work here.

enjoy Saturday. and hope the sun is shining on you, wherever you are. :becky:

Good morning O ladies!! Getting ready for days of :rain: here or so the forecast says, better get my camera out and take some pics of my Camellia plant before the rain ruins all the blossoms  But it is spring and everything is blossoming! The cherry blossoms are absolutely beautiful this year it really is too bad that they do not last too long.

Chris - I am so glad that you are feeling a bit better today! A good nights sleep is the best thing in the world! I will try to get some pics for you today and hope that you will be able to get outside for a bit today! Have fun at the birthday party, Gary's grandma sounds like she is a hoot! My Mother was the same when she was in the home, loved to visit even if she did not know who we were and absolutely loved her chocolate!! I think that Gary's Grandma will love her gift!!

Angela - Hope the weather stays nice for you and that you have fun at the park today! Looking forward to seeing some of your pics!!

Nancy - Isn't it wonderful when you can see the flowers starting to bloom, it just brings a smile to your face!! Have a great time at your hockey game! I see some great hockey pages in your future!!

Laurie - Oh dear, your son sleeping til after noon is not a good thing, we went through that with our son and all I did was referee the men!! It really does cause a lot of tension between them!! I hope that he can find work soon! Hope you don't have to put a ref's shirt and helmet on! LOL Enjoy your dance, I'm sure its like riding a bike and it will all come back to you quickly!! Have fun!!

Kristy - A very busy, hectic day for you! Hope you manage to get it all done, sad to say goodbye to your MG though!!

Terry - Sorry to hear that your Mother is going through more pain!! It's great that your sister is back to help you out and that the two of you are taking such good care of your Mother! You are wonderful daughters!! Have fun golfing today, you deserve some fun for sure!!

Well I went to see my friend in the Bank yesterday afternoon, but she was out for lunch. She called me later on the phone and set up an appt. on Wednesday and told me to bring my resume with me. Sounds like a great position for me as it would only be 25hrs a week and mostly to cover lunch breaks during the middle of the day! I just hope that it does not start until after I get back from helping DD out with the new baby!!! What are the chances?? I am asking for too much aren't I?? Oh well, what will be, will be!! I got a phone call from a girl at my former job, so unhappy and she just confirmed to me that I did the right thing by leaving! My other good friend returns from her cruise today and sadly will find out that she is no longer employed!! It will be devastating for her!! Getting the Kleenex box ready for when she calls. Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and that you do something that you love today!!

Dance went well - it always amazes me even after a month of no dancing how we slip right back into it- meant to be I guess! Anyways stopped and picked up mulch - 20 bags, I am working (well I was) at getting out of the back of the truck and laid out in the flower bed, plus I am trimming the over grown bushes, then I can empty it one bag at a time. Tonight my team plays! I am hoping they make it to the final two!!

Oh my. Just read through the thread and find that I have so much catching up to do. First of all, Trudy you left the store. Well good for you. If you weren't happy, so much better to find something else.

Chris, sounds like you have some relaxation for the weekend. Glad you got good sleep and hope you have a good time at the birthday party.

Laurie, it sounds like you will have an interesting spring ahead with DH and son. Wishing you strength and peace. Hoping son finds his way soon.

Terry, sorry that your mom is still having so many troubles. Glad that your sister will he around to help soon.

Phylis, I haven't scrapped in a month. Don't have time right now but I miss it and hope my mojo and interest arent all dried up when the casino nonsense ends.

Nancy, it has finally felt like spring around here. Hoping to see some flowers soon.

((hugs)) all.

hello everyone...is almost 1 am here but I had to come quickly give you a hugg and apologise for the absence. My daughter premiered last night in Evita (the musical) and it takes a lot of effort & medication to get me out of the house and driving, and today I'm still recovering, she just came back from the second show and we are on our way to bed. Will come back tomorrow with time to catch up ...hope everybody os having a great weekend, super hugggzzz!

big hug Kristy! Hopefully the time will go fast when he's away!

I hope you feel better today Cynthia, do you have photo's of the musical?

Did the team win Laurie? and how's the work in the basement going? did your son help?

That would be great that job with the bank Trudy! I hope everything is ok with your friend, it must be a shock to come home and get such news ...

Wonderful you had a good night of sleep Phylis, hopefully followed by another one?!

Ow so sad your mom is in such pain Terry. Glad to see your sister will be visiting and helping too. I hope you're able to get a bit of rest!

Already started getting rid of the weeds Nancy? Did you have a great time at the game yesterday?

I hope you got some house work done yesterday Chris and Gary's grandma had a great 'party' ;)

No plans for today here, maybe get outside again with the kids although I have to see if it's possible with Wes since he's home today too. But first they are playing at the WII and I can do some scrapping :)

Have a great sunday girls!

happy Sunday everyone!

The "party" was actually really nice!!! My MIL's sister-- Gary's aunt-- and 2 cousins and the one had a baby 8 months ago-- they all came too. They are a bit dysfunctional, and we don't get to see them that often, but wow. My cousin with the baby-- she looked great, and so happy. And her son is adorable!!!!!! what a sweet baby, laughed and smiled the entire time. And scott was able to come too. He and his GF had plans to go see a college together, but I asked that if they were done and could pop in that they were invited too. His GF's mom made a point to bring him over. She said she could see in his face it was important to him to be there. That meant a lot to me, and I know it meant a lot to my MIL.
And Grandma- she sat in her wheelchair (eying the chocolate cupcakes!!) and kept saying "How did I get so lucky?"
I took a whole bunch of pics, but they didn't come out so great- lots of blurry ones and red eyes, so I have some work to do today to fix them up if I can.

Phyllis--- noooo, that just stinks!!!!! Maybe the forecast will be wrong?

Angela- hope that all of the kids have fun today and that you get to keep scrapping.

(((((((((((hugs))))))))) Kristi-- I hope that the month flies by for you and the girls.

Cyn- no need to apologize! I totally get the need to decompress after a day like you had. And I get that what sound "normal" or no big deal to others, is a huge deal to you. I am proud of you for getting out!
Are things with you and your DD getting better?

Linda S!!! How have you been? Finding time to breathe?? I have been seeing some of you FB posts about the casino, are you having any luck with that? I hope so.....
Hugs to you and the kiddos!

Laurie- I bet your yard is looking FINE!!! How did your team do last night? Hope you aren't too achy after all of that work.

Phyllis- I am with you- my yard still looks like early march- all very brown. Aside from the two very sad crocus blooms, I have very little signs of spring. I do have a few lily and daffodil stalks peeking out of the ground but they are that yellowish-green shade from being buried under the leaves. Now that I have uncovered them, maybe they will get a bit greener and bigger. LOL
April showers, maybe we will get some flowers by May or June or July..... :D

Trudy- how was your day? Hope you got some of those flower pics before the rain comes in. Oh I am soooo pulling for you for the perfect job. I am glad you got out of that place when you did. Your poor friend too- what a way to come back from a vacation.:(

Terry- your poor mom :( I am so happy that you were able to get her stay extended. it is still prob not long enough but I can't imagine having her come home n two days still in this much pain and unable to move. And whew! The schedule of you and your sis will also take some pressure off of you. Hang in there!!!

Nancy- If you are starting to bloom, that means we might be in another week or too. My parents live in Parsippany and we are one week behind them on spring. So that is good news. Sorry about the weeds though..... If it stays warm tomorrow and dry I should get out there and rip as much as I can out while the ground is still soft.

To everyone: hugs and hopes for a wonderful day!

HI girls :yield: last day of spring break....

Poor Jaiden....she asks me every day "how many more days until school?"

Friday evening, Mom kept the kids so Mike and I could go out to eat....OUTBACK!!! Yum....teriyaki medallions with grilled vegetables and some sangrias....I was in heaven............... Mike always fusses about the cost of the drinks..and says I shouldn't have gotten them because of the cost, and then I rationalize to him "well we only go out like this about 3 times a year, so if you think about it, it's not really that much when you add it up over a whole year, because I don't really drink any other time" :becky: he gets my logic...thank goodness :pound:

Yesterday I washed and scrapped a little bit....went and picked up dinner for me and Mike (salads) and fixed the kids waffles....As much as I would love living in the country again, I love being able to swing out to pick up something when I just DO NOT WANT TO COOK!!!

Today.....not too sure yet...but I do want to get outside...if my allergies can stand it....of course they won't let me know until afterwards...I will pay later.

I may try to go take some pictures....I need new ones!!!!!!!

hope you all have a wonderful day

Good morning. Slipping in for a few minutes...thinking that I might even get a chance to scrap a page.

Glad that the party went well Chris.

Oh Kristi... hubby is going to be away for a month? That stinks. My brother has been gone for 3 weeks now. He is in Mississippi selling roofs. Think that he may be gone for a couple of months. Hard on him and his family but you do what it takes to make a living right?

Oh Phylis, I know what you mean with the weather. Here it is April and there is nothing blooming around here. And there are no spring flowers at all in my yard. I will be fixing that situation when fall rolls around...will be putting lots of bulbs in the ground.

News around here... Soccer practice is now 4 nights a week. Syd had her first game yesterday and it ended in a 6 to 6 tie. You can tell that they are a little tentative together but I expect big improvements each week. Next weekend we are traveling to Cedar Rapids for a tournament...staying in hotel...so that's how soccer life begins.

Brian's job which is currently noon to 9, Mon-Thurs and 8 to 5 on Fri, is changing the hours. It will now be noon to 9 Mon-Fri.:shock: That is scheduled for the first week in May. He is now applying for some different jobs where they would be day jobs. For those who pray, please add that to your list.

And the casino is hot and heavy. Going door-to-door later today. This is so crazy. Found at this week that the mayor and new city manager approached the casino folks 3 months before they told the city council. What a mess! The whole thing makes me sooooo mad!

Ok, I'm off to leave some love in the gallery and find a challenge!

good morning - Sat was a gorgeous day. Chris seems so funny for such a small state as NJ to have your spring be 3 weeks or so later that mine. But that is why I love this state so much in such a small area! My poor Devils just cannot score. And there are only 10 games left.

Chris glad the party went so well! Babies and chocolate cupcakes can help a lot of parties.

Phylis sorry about your rain. We are supposed to get rain but not until Tuesday. They do say April showers bring May flowers. Hope you peaks of sunshine!

Kristi I hope he time gone goes fast. I am sure the kids will keep you busy!

Trudy the bank job sounds perfect for you. Good luck!

Nana Linda so glad you had a date night. They are fun.

LindaS soccer is so fun to watch but it requires a lot from the parents to get the kids to the tournaments - hope Brian gets better hours - good luck keeping that casino out of your area

Angela have fun with the kids!

Terry so glad to hear your sister is there to help with your Mom. Really hope the hospital staff do a better job this week.

Laurie glad to hear your dancing went so well. And yes it is hard to have kids return home or just be home. I know it was hard for me to see my son sleep when everyone around him is working.

Hope you have a great day!

Morning O fam- working on getting ready for the work week- need to go into work and play catch up, as well as pick up more glue so the backsplash can be finished. Right now- getting ready to go back out and work on mulch- it is windy and 64 with rain predicted later.

I have to get my water softener fixed or replaced. We have both hard water and iron. Currently use culligan, thinking of a non salt conditioner system- any recommendations?? Oh and we have well water which also means at time sulfur- depending on the water table.

Laurie, we're on well, too, and ours is salt-based. we have a reverse-osmosis drinking unit, though, so out drinking water isn't mixed with salt. no idea about a non-salt-based system. i didn't know there even WAS such a thing.

well. yard work DID get done. (wind and gray louds and no sun and sprinkles...gave way to some blue skies and sunshine. honestly. weathermen.) Hubby annoyed me by doing an outside job half-assed, so i went out with snippers and saws and started having at some shrubbery. after a while he came out, and we ended up doing MAJOR tree pruning. (like giant limbs) and cutting everything up into smaller bits.

now i can hardly move. :hurt:

Laurie, is your hot tub still turned on?? hmmmm. maybe i can use this as an excuse NOT to cook dinner?? :twitch:
