Good morning and how is everyone's "weekend" so far?
Weekend shmeekend.

Just some simple breathing this morning. Deep breath in, all the way down into your abdomen....hold for a second or two, and release really slowly. Again... in..... hold....ouuuuut. One more time. Innnnn......hold.... ouuuuut......

I hope that this is still helpful.

My friend across the street was able to get me everything that I needed-including a pack of TP! Thank goodness because after spending more time trying to find an open spot for pick-up, I think I am giving up on that idea. What else did I do yesterday? I vacuumed everything downstairs and disinfected all of the high-touch areas. I did a bit of tagging in ACDSee. Gary made homemade pizza last night and we watched another couple of episodes of What We Do In the Shadows. I think this is the third time we are watching. April 15 is the new season. :clap2:
I also talked to my parents and my dad isn't mad at me. Whew!! I would take him being mad at me over dead but it is a relief that he isn't. We will see how long that lasts. *fingers crossed it lasts longer than the time that Scott lectured him*

My mayor has been very informative throughout this- we have about 25,000 residents (very small town for NJ) and over 70 confirmed cases. We are, like many towns in North Jersey, have a lot of commuters into NYC. Sad how the numbers are rising so quickly.

Today I am off to the FP. Again, so anxious about leaving my house. But I know what I need to do and will have the disinfecting supplies ready for me when I get back. And everything ready for me to shower immediately. My ILs are dropping off the masks that MIL sewed for us, leaving them in the driveway. Caitlyn made me laugh that she wants to add vampire teeth to hers. That kid!! LOL

My kids are so darn funny. That is my one and only gratitude for the day because is a BIG one!

HAGD!!

Trudy- How are the grands doing, did you get to Facetime with them? They must be so happy that Dad is home with them. Do the boys get what is going on? I hope not. I am so worried about the psychological impacts this will have.
The cards are adorable!! I love the critters. I bet the kids will love seeing them and knowing that you made them makes them even more special.
Is FIL staying put? I hope he is. Gary looked into Stack TV and it looks like it is CA only. He said that we could sign up for the Starz package but we have things to watch ATM and god knows we don't have a penny to spare. I paid my heating bill yesterday and only paid $200 out of the $260. They are a good, local company so it should be fine. But still. Do you know how many episodes Season 5 will have? Maybe once they are all released we can sign up and binge them and then cancel. Thanks for the ideas!!

Looks like it was just me and you yesterday.
Hope that everyone else is well and healthy. Sending you all lots of love!

Just a quick in and out. Discovered that my Blood Pressure goes up if I try to scrap or spend much time on-line... so am limiting my time here. Guess it is going to take a bit of time for the body to adjust to the new meds so I can come back to doing what I enjoy.

Know I am thinking about all of you and hoping everyone stays well. <<< hugs >>>

Morning O-zies!! It was another unproductive scrapping day yesterday :mmph: DH and I got busy trying to fix our microwave. I opened the door to heat up something and it stared running on its own with the door open!!! That's not good :fear: So we got to watching some youtube videos on what the problem might be. I ordered the new part that we will need and in the meantime DH took the faulty part apart and fixed the spring that was not working. Put it back together and Hooray it worked!! Gotta love it when you have a handyman around!! He was quite proud of himself LOL. While DH was busy puttering around with the part, we got the microwave that is downstairs in the suite and used that for the day. We will still wait for the new part, because this is probably a temporary fix. Not sure what we will be doing today :noidea: DH wants to finish power washing, every time he gets going with it, it starts to rain :mmph: So far this morning its cloudy, but there are some patches of blue sky out there. Sure wish it would warm up though, it is very chilly!!

Chris - Yes it was very quiet in here yesterday, but hopefully that means that everyone is keeping busy with other projects. Sorry that your Stack tv is not free for you in the USA. We are getting all kinds of offers from various companies to try things for 30 days free. The trouble is will I remember to cancel them LOL. When I bought our new AppleTV box they gave us AppleTV+ to watch for a year free, so we will see if we like it or not. So far there really isn't too much on there, but I am sure it will get better. We have more TV than we could ever watch now. With Crave that our neighbour hooked us up with (so nice of her!). Disney Plus that our son hooked us up with  Amazon Prime and we also have IPTV that we pay for (DH got that for the sports that he can no longer see) and then of course Netflix that we pay for. Not enough hours in the day to watch it all. We fall asleep to a lot of good programming LOL. How wonderful that your neighbour got everything that you needed at the store! Gary making homemade pizza too, so you had a great day!! I also made pizza for dinner last night, but wouldn't you know it I forgot to get cream cheese at the store for my crust and so I had to find another recipe that did not call for cream cheese. Found one and it was pretty darn good!! Glad to hear that your father is not mad at you! Hopefully he behaves himself now! Still not sure if FIL is sticking to the rules, DH was supposed to call last night, but like the rest of his family he has a hard time picking up the phone LOL. The grands are all good, I know that Isaac and Sadie know what is happening in the world, but not sure about Mason and Hunter is far too young to know. I think Mason knows that there is something bad out there keeping them from school or socializing with others, but probably really does understand just what it is. I hope that Heather and Jonah are explaining as best they can without scaring the crap out of him.

Kay - Oh my that is not good that your BP goes up when you are trying to scrap or on the computer!! But with all that is going on in the world right now, it makes everyones BP rise I am sure!! Please take care of yourself and do what you need to do to stay calm! We are all sending you healing vibes and calming prayers!

Ok I better get into the shower or I will end up just staying in my housecoat all day long. Not a pretty sight LOL. I hope that everyone has a good day and that you are all keeping safe in your homes and staying healthy!

Good morning. I have been busy researching what the best type of face mask is and how to make them. Sussed out all my fabric bits some of which are Christmas prints but hey I am not being picky at this point. I managed to cut out 8 which is enough for each of my family to have 2 each. I sewed 3 yesterday and will finished the others today. I am playing around with various ways to secure them using the least amount of elastic and still have a tight fit without the ears getting sore. These are not 100% effective but they do stop about 80% of the particles. We have ordered hepa filters to swap in and out of the mask pockets as needed.

Scrapping has taken a back seat for now. I am not as motivated at this point but I still keep up with the challenges as best I can. I love AFT designs newest bunny kit. Too bad it doesn’t zero out in the shop. I would have liked to work with it. Oh well.

I do hope everyone is being careful.

Kay, I find it odd that your BP goes up when you scrap. Could it be the topic you are scrapping that causes it to rise or the time restraints if it is for a designer that need pages done within a timeline?

My DH suffers from anxiety and is having a hard time dealing with the various government decisions being made recently. I keep telling him not to watch the programmes that just give opinions. Too many cooks in the kitchen and who do you believe? Certainly not politicians. Personally I tend to consider only the heads of the medical organizations.

I kick him out the door everyday to go for a good long walk. It helps him decompress a bit. Telling him not to watch all the news is like telling him not to breathe. Lol

Yesterday I spent time trying to put together a little video in which I talk about my artwork, specifically the piece called "Black Horse" that is in the local arts group's members' exhibit. The piece was chosen by a poet in the group as part of a program where poets will talk or write, I guess, about artworks in an exhibit. It was so exciting to be included but so tough to do a video. What I came up with is only so-so but maybe it will do. Normally the program is done at a public event in the gallery, so I have no idea how they'll do it with everything closed. I did the video on my small computer screen but last night we looked at it on the TV and I was appalled at how I look so old in the larger image.

Anyway, sunny again today which I love.

Chris, I laughed out loud (with DH in the room) when I read what Cait wants to do with her mask! Thank her for me. (and if she does it I want photos!) That was even better than the breathing. Oh, and the bending over one was really great. Your neighbor gets a gold star for getting your shopping. :first: For all the rest, guess we just keep doing what we can as best we can. And as for Cait and the straight As, if there's any way she can hang onto that, more power to her.

Oh, Kay, who would have thought scrapping could up the BP like that. So sorry, but hope relaxing with books is still OK. We'll keep beaming calming vibes out your way. :hippie:

Trudy, it always is something, isn't it? Hope the microwave part comes soon and really fixes the problem. Warmer days would be nice, but I'm afraid they encourage gathering. Hope you can get in a walk or hike, scrapping and painting maybe too.

Grateful for...
Chris sharing her kids' humor
sunshine
all of you

Good morning, ladies. I am in and out quickly today. My daughter will be coming over soon and we are going to clear out my scrap/photography room and that will be her bedroom. She is moving back for a number of months while this is going on and maybe indefinitely. So her and Noel (cat) will be here. We will be able to FT B every day together which will be nice. Jen struggles with keeping conversation going which I am much better at so she will feel more relaxed as we do it altogether so she can listen more and not have to carry a lot of the conversation. She has recovered, is not sick anymore and we'll take a lot of precautions with her going in and out to work. It puts us at a higher risk but we feel we need to do this for her. She was not handling it well being alone in her little cramped apartment and stressing over the world situation on top of her already existing stress from her past.

I think being with me and D (and Taz too) will help to calm her and we can listen to her which is important right now as she isn't able to go to therapy now and that was crucial to her coping and well-being before. I'll get her into exercising with me and Taz and we'll transition into a higher carb Trim Healthy Mama type of eating as its just not going to be possible to sustain keto/paleo right now with food shortages and they say its only going to get worse with the coming months. I'll have more time to meal plan and cook as she'll do most of the cleaning/dishes which will free up more of my time. Its an adjustment that shouldn't be too hard to do. We'll bring a lazyboy chair into her room and set up the extra keurig machine so she can have her quiet time. There's a bathroom and fridge down there, so its not a selfcontained suite but she'll have some privacy.

So lots to do this wkend as we tackle getting rid of old scrap supplies and packing away what I might want to use again if I make a new craft room upstairs in the back bedroom.

So, I'm out of here now to get stuff done before she gets here and then will be busy until at least dinnertime today and tomorrow working on organizing, purging and moving stuff around.

Talk later...bfn

good day. The day began with clouds but no it is party sunny. The wind has died down. We had a nice walk. And now the temp is 60 degrees. Yea. And I am just watching TV. I may watch some hockey. Today was the last day of the regular season for the NHL and I and my DH were supposed to be on a bus trip with the Devils fan club out to Long Island for the Devils/Islanders game. Makes me really sad! It would have been such a fun outing. But what makes me sadder is that a Wisconsin Badger hockey player signed his entry level contract with the NY Rangers. The Rangers set up a Zoom meeting for him to have a Q&A with fans. It was Zoombombed and horribly racist words came across the screen. From what I am reading the FBI is now investigating. I hope they catch him. In this time when we should be coming together this happens. Makes me wonder. So funny to read how so many of you had pizza last night. We did too! Read another Tony Hillerman book. I really like his stories.

Chris thanks for the breathing. Glad your dad is listening to you. Hope it continues. The best that you got your food. That is awesome. And of course kids laughing is too cool.

Kay that is very interesting about your BP. You should let your doctor know when you talk to him next. Enjoy reading!

Trudy I keep wondering what one does if something breaks and one does not have a handy man. My DH is not a handy man. Glad you were able to get it fixed and that you had a spare. I watched on Disney+ the new documentary on Elephants and then the one after In the footsteps of Elephants. Both were excellent. And I cant wait for the next Outlander.

Jean my DH tried to do a voice over for his powerpoint presentation and it did not go well. He gets so frustrated. Don't blame him. He uses a PC/Windows at work while at home we have Macs. Hope you effort is goes better. How neat your art is featured.

Rae so glad that Jen is feeling better. I am sure that both of you together we make B's day as you FaceTime. I guess in the long run to clean out the scrap room is probably a good thing. You can only cook what you can.

Kathe good luck with the masks. I know that for me long walks help so good for you to get your DH out for walks.

Grateful the sun came for our walk.

Good morning girls, or should I say good afternoon!
It is grey and cool, with rain which create more and more mud, so my choice for today is lazy day.
I'm actually very excited as yesterday one of my favorite musicians made livestream with songs from the beach. He is one of just a few american musicians I follow, and I think it's really kind, that he specifically mentioned that is choose time which to be comfortable for EU too. So yes, can we pretend that I'm been to gig  .

Chris, good that your dad is not angry! Or if he is upset, I think he should be, in distance he will realize that you are right! How bad that you don't know any their gossip neighbor for excuse LOL! I guess people in your area are more delicate, here every neighbor feels free to make critical notes to everybody.
OMG, the news distort everything! We watched how in US small robots deliver the food shopping for the people! You know that me and my dad are huge fans of any kind of robots and AI, and was so impressed!! And now you show me totally opposite picture. It's so sad that you can't use any assistants! I know that people with health problems here have to call at one phone and special organisation comes and takes your shopping list, you can even ask for specific store that fits to your budget. You may call not to the store, but to red cross or City Hall, for my town I think it's the City Hall. Better make online research and good luck with that!

Trudy, I just love these cards! So cute! Hope to get there on time! So sweet that people at the store knows you and help! I can't say I'm surprised knowing you, you are always so elegant and contact, probably have tons acquaintance everywhere. Bad when something got broken in this crazy situation, and so relief that your husband can fix it alone.

Kay, oh, positive vibes sending in your direction! Your posts will miss us, so I hope fast to be back! Take your time! Hugs!

Kythe, bravo for your creativity! Any mask are not 100% effective according to WHA, but they are mandatory to have access in stores and institutions here, so we hope they do at least something! I understand your husband! Creepy times with all these masking, angry people around!

Jean, omg, that's happens to me every time! I looks so fat and double throat. It's not us, the stupid screen do this! Hope the video will work for the idea! Sounds very interesting. Maybe will be virtual exhibit?! Then give us a link!

Nancy, that's pissed me off off too! Every time, on every online party have some jerk that come to ruin the fun, just because they feels safe behind the screen!

Rae, such a good news about Jen!!! I'm so happy for you! Keep in your mind to organizing the room with places to hide and climb, and everything will be fine with Noel.
Easy idea are these cheap (at least here) Plastic Drawer, I have two with different high to can cat jump, and I'm removed some boxes, and in the down box, I'm place old cloth, so cat to can lie there. When here is more sunny I'll try to take a pic, but I think idea is clear.

How do you all feel if instead of deep breathing today, we do some primal screaming??
:hurt: :hurt: :hurt:

:hurt: :hurt: :hurt:

Kids and dogs are sleeping so I had to do that internally. heh. I am fine. No need to worry about me. My life seems to literally revolve around trying to procure food. How pathetic is that?
A quick rundown of the last 24 hours was gearing up to leave the house which takes forever. we were able to go to both food pantries plus we dropped off some clothes for donation, Get home, unpack and disinfect 5 bags of food. (I am eternally grateful for that). Gary and Cait put away the food while I strip down and shower.
Cut to 11 pm, Gary tells me that he was able to get a spot/place order for Shop Rite - to be picked up this Wednesday! YAY!!!!!! :clap2:
They redid the website so you have to wait to get in (Virtual social distancing is now a thing??? hahah!) but you can also now edit your cart and recheck out. Which is fab since the stuff that was in my cart was everything I need *last* week. I spent an hour this morning editing the cart to what I needed, swapped out things for sale items, went to save the new order and then spent the last half hour trying to get the site to load. The App isn't loading either. so all of the time I spent adjusting the cart is a waste. *dies a bit inside* Yeah, I am being melodramatic. In case you didn't notice. heh. But still... now I will have to try to do those all over again later today and you all know how much I HATE food shopping on a good day! Gah!

That said, yesterday was a good day. My ILs dropped the masks off, mine is made with a wine motif. I asked if she had any extras, could she make two for my parents since my mom refused to "impose" on her by asking. (Apples, falling from trees... you know where I get it)
After dinner, we played Cards Against Humanity. The kids asked my mom if that is what they could order as their Easter gift. (so totally inappropriate on so many levels.) They filtered out the worst cards and put them in a Ziploc that Gary and I are not allowed to open. How the tables have turned! We were laughing so hard we were crying. OMG- so funny and awful.

Today I have a sink load of dishes and laundry to do plus fight with the shop rite website

Ok, I am back, I *think* I fixed the shopping cart and checked out with the correct number of times. However, I might have screwed up that I used the credit card that is in my name but goes to my mom's account. And I ticked that the billing address is the same as another address but I can't remember what I checked! Crap.

Soooo, anyway... How are all you???

I am going to try and "be still" for a moment here. Care to join me?

I am back.

One of my Tx techniques for my eating disorder was to be still, I was always moving and doing so I didn't have to focus on anything. So one thing I had to do after we ate our dinners (that still makes me feel sick- we had to eat an entire meal, all of it. Talk about feeling overwhelmed), we had a 15 minutes break and I went back in the main room and just sat. Not talk, not fidget, just sit. Some of the other girls would come and sit with me which made it easier. I forget that sometimes I need to be able to do that. Even deep breathing- I can focus on the counting and breath which doesn't let my mind rest completely either.

Aren't you all so glad that I have decades of therapy to assist us all at this moment in time? :pound:

Quick personals, because typing is hurting my shoulder-- bursitis is acting up.

Kay- that is crazy that scrapping is making your BP go up, good luck with all of this, when is your next appt with your Dr?

Trudy- sorry that your scrapping was a bust. Thank goodness for handyman husbands and being able to fix the microwave. It is going to be weird in the fall when we have no new TV or movies. Maybe at that point, we will sign up for a new streaming service.
I worry so much about the kids- how they are going to psychologically handle this from Child Dev't perspective. I told Caitlyn that she is going into a "good" field.:(

Kythe- I saw a lot of mask patterns online using large buttons on headbands. I f you need, I can look and see if I can find them again. You can PM Amanda, she might be able to make you a coupon.
I have been following more closely the WHO and our CDC - although I have never been a fan of the CDC for Lyme-reasons. I also follow a lot of virologists and epidemiologists on Twitter. I definitely am not listening to anyone *at all* from the Trump admin. I am sorry that your DH is having his anxiety triggered so much. I understand!

Jean- I hate how I look onscreen too, but I bet that we are our own worst critics. Caitlyn has to do a presentation for her Cross-Cultural Pysch class and has to video herself ad then share it. She is not looking forward to that at all.
Yay for the laughter about my wacky DD! She will be happy that she made you laugh too. My kids are so darn funny- I know that all parents say that, but they really are way out there!

Rae- Is J feeling all better? What a relief!!! Will she be able to get tested for antibodies at some point? It would be amazing to know if she has some level of immunity and if she does, can she still carry it home to you? All these things we don't know yet. I am happy that she is moving in with you.
I know that there are online/text mental health resources in the US, does CA have anything like that where she could touch base with a mental health professional?

Nancy- That is so disappointing that your trip had to be canceled. That sounds like it would have been such fun. That is not the first Zoombombing/racist thing I have heard of.
Pizza is good. :D

Felis- that is awesome that you got to go to a "concert on the beach!"
Nope, no robots making deliveries here. I think at one point Amazon wanted to use drones to make deliveries but I don't think that they ever did?
I love your gratuitides!

Chris, I can't find the news on english but this is the pic of the robots. It's funny how the TV news generalize and told us that in US they use robots  , as the whole US do it. Now I made research an at the newspapers is mentioned that this happens in Austin and Washington. But still it's very cool!

Good morning everyone! The blue sky is off on the horizon, so it looks like it might be a beautiful sunny day here! It is still very cool though, so hopefully the sunshine will warm everything up and we can get outside to enjoy some fresh air!! Even if it is only in our backyard. I finally scrapped a page for Vicki Robinson challenge and I actually like the way it turned out :bliss: Perhaps I can get another one done this morning ? DH was up super early this morning and I slept in until 8am!! He is now back in bed and hopefully he has a nice sleep! I had a wonderful sleep, got up once to use the loo but fell immediately back to sleep, it feels so good to have a good nights sleep for a change! I hope to get to mix some paints today and try a new colour combo for some coasters and matching trivet. The neighbour wants some with burgundy in it, but I am having a heck of a time finding a nice colour combo with burgundy. It is not my fav colour either so it makes it even harder to work with it.

Chris - Glad that you had so much fun playing Cards against Humanity, so funny, but so bad too LOL. and to think your kids took out the worst cards :pound: How nice that your IL's made the masks for you and that you asked for a couple for your parents! I bet that they were happy to do it! Sorry that you had to spend so much time trying to get your groceries online, I really need to look into that today too, hopefully it won't be too time consuming! There are several smaller markets that are advertising delivery of groceries, so I might check those ones out and support the smaller business here. We had a short facetime with both sets of grandkids yesterday, everyone had been outside most of the day and enjoying the warmer weather that they have been getting. Everyone was tired and ready for bed, so it was good to be able to say goodnight to them all!

Kythe - glad that you are busy making some masks! Sorry that your DH is suffering with anxiety, I hope that he is able to keep calm by taking some nice long walks! Yes stay away from the news, it is bad at the best of times and now its even worse! I tell my DH the same thing, turn the dam news off!!!

Jean - Oh I hope you are able to link us up with your video! Yes the screen is not kind to us, but it is not a true representation of the real you. We always see ourselves differently than others do. Hope to get in a walk today in the warmer sunshine, but you are right it does make everyone gather together more which is not a good thing. We tend to stay away from the more popular hiking/walking trails, so hopefully we will not see to many others out and about!

Rae - I am glad that your daughter is moving in with you, but scared for you also! I know that you will do your best to protect yourself and your hubby. I am so happy to hear that she has recovered from the virus and I am sure that she is thrilled to have your company and not feel so lonely! You will be very busy getting everything all arranged, so I am sending you good vibes to get it all done.

Felis - How nice to have the concert on the beach! I saw Burton Cummings did another little video playing his old songs from when he was in the "The Guess Who" , so nice to hear him again! Thank you for liking my silly cards to the kids! I hope that they get them before the Easter weekend! I am sending you some nicer weather, so you can get outside without the mud under your feet! I think that the robots were supposed to be used in some area's but not so sure that it went ahead. :noidea:

Nancy - That is terrible about the Zoombombing!! Really don't people have anything better to do?? I am so sorry that you are missing out on the road trip, so many disappointments because of this COVID19!! I feel sorry for those who are not able to get out for nice long walks, those stuck in abusive homes or those with no place to go at all to keep social distancing. We should all be thankful that we have what we do I guess. I will have to watch the elephant shows on Disney+ for sure! Looking forward to Outlander tonight too!!

Ok it seems DH is up and wandering around, so I best get the two of us some breakfast. I am thinking a nice Omelet with bacon, cheese, aspargus and peppers. :hungry: Have a lovely day today everyone! Hopefully we can all do something that makes us smile today!

good afternoon. My son had breakfast delivered for us today. That was nice. The sun is starting to break through so I will walk this afternoon. Had interesting dreams - the last one involved Jennifer Aniston - don't know why she was even on my mind. Too funny. I am trying to be animal friendly but I really dislike mice. I have told my DH there are mice and he won't do anything except say to me he has put traps. Well today I went to pour out Luther's food and I poured out a mouse - a live mouse. I did not scream and I probably saved its life as it did not die in the bag but how did it even get in there. Needless to say I am trying to decide what to do. I don't know why he will not put traps where the mice seem to be I guess he thinks Luther will be harmed. I am not asking for him to put poison only traps.

Chris that card game so fun. You are so lucky to have kids to play games with each day. Glad the FP worked out so well and that you were able to get spot for delivery. My future DIL has a spot and she said she would order any thing we needed and my son would bring it home. How sweet is that. Because of her past cancer she also had 2 masks for my DH and I. It is amazing to have her in my son's life. He is one lucky guy.

Felis that is wonderful for the free concert. It is crazy what they said about robots delivery food in the US. As I think Chris said it was talked about but not in practice yet.

Trudy your omelet sounds yummy. Hope you find the colors for the new art project.

Grateful for the sun and walking!
Grateful for this new young woman coming into our family!
Stay safe!
