Just a quick pop-in and good morning. Catzilla will not leave me alone. I keep trying to get her to sit on my lap but the keyboard is so much more comfy.

Any fun plans today? It was really nice to get my Google Calendar Email that said "You have no events scheduled for today."

Enjoy life!

i have "no scheduled events for today" either, Chris. i've been having too many days like that lately. my own fault. i seem to be hanging around the house a whole lot more than i used to.

ALTHOUGH...i'm starting to entertain the idea that i may go to try to buy some bedroom furnture that fits today, which involves me having to drive right through the middle of the city. i'm north, the store is south, and there's no nice easy way to get there. so that'll be my adventure for the day, i think. swearing in traffic :tape: and buying bedroom furniture.

hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sorry that I've been MIA this week. I need more hours in the day!

Monday night we made an offer on a house but someone else made a similar offer but they had already sold their house. Soooo....no new house now!

Then Tuesday night, Shaun, Syd and I did a mile long race (walk)! The kids were disappointed that I wouldn't let them run on their own in the crowd of 2000 runners. Shaun kept running ahead and yelling at me to pick up the pace. Sydney stayed back because she thought that I would "pass out"! I finished in 15 minutes and 2 seconds and promised the kids I'd work on getting faster by next year. :-)

Wednesday night, we walked to Dad's and back to start preparing for next year's race. (It is a .9 mile walk one way.) In between, I played HORSE with my 12 year old niece and lost each time!

Thursday night, Sydney had soccer practice and then we did homework.

Last night, exhausted...we ate out and came home and I fell into bed. Soccer game at 11. But then, not really much of anything. Scrapping sounds good!!!

Happy Saturday ladies... Grey dull day here today. I had every intention of getting a bunch of scrapping done yesterday, but instead got working on the last two teddy bears for my SIL and then was on the phone quite a bit with family members. We got very sad news about out BIL who has been fighting cancer for a year now. He has been told that he only has months left to live. He is my MG's sister's husband. She will be very lost without him as he did everything for her, he was also the world's most romantic man. What will become of her?? Why do all the good ones go early??
We are heading up there on the weekend of the 12th to give them a hand with a few things, it will be a very difficult visit!!

Chris - Hope Catzilla gives you a break sometime this morning LOL How nice that there is nothing on your calendar today!!

Phylis - Hope you finally make it to the furniture store! Drive carefully and try not to swear too much at the other drivers :becky:

LindaS - Good for you for participating in your walk (run), you will find that you have more energy once you get into it!! Sorry about the house!! That is frustrating when you find the one you want and then get beat out by someone else!! Perhaps it was meant to be and a better one will come along. Hope your day is filled with scrapping!!

Have a great weekend everyone

Good Sunday to ya!
Everyone was quiet here yesterday, hopefully you all have productive days.
Not me. Heh. Another time waster of a day. I scrapped a page, did some laundry, watched some TV with the fam. I have such a difficult time with free days. I feel like if I have a free day I should fill it to the brim. When I sit back and say I need to take it easy, I still try to do "stuff" which makes me feel like I didn't rest either. Gah!!!

I did make Gary his b-day present short breads. He went over to hang out with our neighbor and I thought he would be gone for an hour or so- no sooner did I get them in the oven he comes home. I lit an vanilla frosting candle so he wouldn't smell them cooking and right now they are hiding in my closet LOL I am sur ehe knows that is his b-day present. Since we don't have lots of money, I make them as his C-mas and b-day gifts. Every year. LOL

I picked out what I making for Mother's day too. Painted coffee can planters. All I have to get is some spray paint and a bunch of petunias. Coffee cans are plentiful in my house. :tea:

I am heading out to see my little man in a bit. You'll be sure to see more photos and pages of him soon.

Have a great day!!!

Phyllis- how did the furniture shopping go?
Hope it went ok. I hate shopping of any kind and city driving, so I would be right there cursing up a storm with you :yell:

Linda S! There you are! I wish we could add more hours to the day too, but as long as they were filled with sleep. (Or scrap time). Congrats on the run!! And the kids too- give them a hug five from me!
That bites about the house. Just keep telling yourself the right house is out there. It is.

Trudy- So so sorry to here about your BIL. He has been sick awhile, right? I hope that these next months are filled with love and peace, not pain.

xoxo

Good morning all! Chris, do you really still have coffee cans? We get ours in vacuum packs or plastic containers nowadays. I'm now lamenting the passing of coffee cans...my grandpa had them at his house all of the time...always Folgers...I can see them now!

Trudy, I am so sorry that your brother-in-law got that rotten news! I HATE cancer.

Phylis, did you find furniture? I need to buy a new kitchen table and chairs and new living room furniture so that the living room furniture can be moved to the family room. We looked last weekend but we had both kids with us...not a good idea! I may go look today on my own. :-)

Good Sunday Morning to you all ! Up early so thought I would pop in here for a bit. Today's project is to get started on staining the new fence we had built between us and the new neighbours. They went 1/2ers on it with us in hopes of keeping their dogs out of our yard and for privacy of course.

Chris - How great that you had a day with not much to do!! That was my day on Friday, did hardly anything at all except scrapping a couple of pages. Yesterday we went to the Home Expo here in town, it was free admission so hubby agreed to go too. Great idea to make shortbread for you MG's birthday!! If its something that he loves to eat then its the perfect gift!! The way to a man's heart is through his stomach you know!! Murphy's law that you would just get them in the oven and he would walk through the door :becky: Thanks for the well wishes for my BIL, we are hoping for the same for him!!

Hey LindaS  we posted at the same time, hope your day goes well and probably a good idea to the shopping on your own!! I remember those days of trying to shop with two kids, not fun :frusty:

Well...you ladies will think I am crazy.....

So Jesse and Jaiden are with the Respite caretaker (btw....I LOVE HER!!! she is so wonderful) and I talked to both kids last night and they are having a blast!!! I will go pick them up this afternoon. So since we had the weekend off, we discussed several options of things for us to do. Well...weather and other scheduled things going play a part in what you decide to do....Cameran's ball season kicked off yesterday, and we knew he would be HEARTBROKEN if Nana and PawPaw didn't come....plus we LOVE going to his games!! So we just messed around the house until the afternoon....went to the game and then as always...the little man wanted to come home with us. Mike and I just looked at each other and neither of us could say no to him.... Sharon told his he needed to leave us alone and come home...but we told her it was okay...she said we were crazy...but I told him to go home and get a shower and clean clothes...so we went to pick him up later...we came home grilled dinner and then we all went to see the new movie Pirates..Band of Misfits (cute movie..not a favorite though).... But as you ladies know...what I love most in the world is being a NANA!!! so it was really really nice to just be the nana again....

BUT..............................we have decided the next weekend I utilize the respite care...we are going away :mrgreen

Mike even went and picked up breakfast this morning so I would not have to cook...Yeah..he DOES NOT COOK..we would not want him to :pound:

The rest of the day....just going to piddle here at home.....

Phylis.....hope you got through the city okay:car: did you find furniture?? You know I have the same bedroom furniture that we bought just before we got married...22 years ago....and I still love it today..I will never have new I guess....unless it becomes necessary to go to bigger than Queen size. My kids all fight over who is going to get the BR suit when I die...what they don't realize is I am NEVER going to die...I am going to be here to make there lives miserable forever :pound:

LindaS....sounds like your walking trips are a lot of fun!! and I envy you having the energy to get out and do that and frolic with the kids like that!!! I need that 5 hour energy every day!!!! LOL!!!

Trudy.... I am so sorry about the news of your BIL...how sad   I hear you on the "good ones". Seems life can be quite unfair!! I will pray for him and all of you sweetie!!

Chris....you are doing better than me on Gary's bday present....I did NADA for Mike... well I did wish him happy birthday on facebook... :hurt: NO...we don't do presents any more....new furniture was it for us.....that will be our present for the next 20 years!!
I might take your cue for the coffee can planters....my Mom would love that!!!!! and Yes...I have some old coffee cans around here...might have to dump some nuts and bolts out of them as that is what Mike uses them for LOL!!

YAY!!!!i got some furniture! i got some furniture!! actually, it's from the same set as the ginormous pieces i bought before that couldn't make the turn at the top of my stairs. only these are the smaller pieces. practically the whole point of getting new was to have MORE drawers, and these pieces won't have MORE. but at least they'll match the other new stuff in the room better than my old furniture does. my old furniture used to belong to my late aunt. we got it about 15 years ago, and it was about 25 years old then. i never liked it, because my aunt's taste was what i like to call "Spanish Inquisition" style. dark, ornately carved scary pieces of furniture that are NOT cool antiques. her house had a lot of red and gold and dark furnture and swords hanging on the walls and paintings of bullfighters and stuff. not my thing....

Linda, your walks must be helping the old A1C! wish i had your ambition!

Nana L, you are THE Nana. hands down.

Trudy, so sad about your BIL. it will be so hard for his wife, for sure. one of my best friends is having surgery for uterine cancer tomorrow. this happened totally out of the blue, and she's scared to pieces. it is so hard when things are not within your power to control. i've never quite got the hang of the "let go, let God" thing. wish i could.

Chris, nothing so precious as something from the hands of a person who loves you. the shortbread seems like the perfect gift. you are a GOOD girl!

just got off SKYPE with my son and The Grandmen. the little guys weren't much in the mood, but we did get to see them and talk to my son, so that's always good. honestly. SKYPE. i want to kiss it on the mouth. it's like a miracle to me.

well. happy rest-of-the-weekend, ladies. do what you love.

Phylis, I totally agree about Skype! I just keep thinking about how marvelous that would have been when I lived in Texas, so far from home. If I ever have grandbabies, I'm going to want to have Skype!!!

And, as for the A1C numbers...I forgot to tell you all...my grumpy doctor who has been nagging and criticizing me for 20 years, actually praised me this week. The A1C numbers were super improved and I had actually lost weight (12 pounds...but I'll take it!) Woo Hoo---doing the happy dance here!

And I bought some new furniture. A sofa, chair and ottoman and a new kitchen table with chairs. Now, buying must stop at our house!

Phylis....I know that so many people love skype to keep in touch with the family...I have never used it...guess if any of my family lived far away I would!! Glad you got to talk to them ;) and YAYAYAYAY on the new furniture!! how awesome!! and yes...your Aunt's house....doubt I would make it through the front door...sounds scary!! :fear:

LindaS...YAYAYAYYAY on your furnture too!!!! and OMG!! SOOOO AWESOME about the Dr and the lost weight!! I keep gaining....I so need to be excercising!!! You really rock girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well....kids were back around 3 and so worn out...it's 6:30 now and Jaiden is out like a light....I am PRAYING she will sleep all night but I doubt it..it's too early..but I have tried everything to wake her up....not happening!!!!
Jesse is in his bed watching TV playing his DS.....WORN OUT!!!! I wish I had the energy to run and do with them like she did...but I don't.. :(

evening all - beach- that is what I have to say- ahh beach. Trudy- praying for your family and BIL that is tough. I think I will go through the drink list at the beach bar this week! I will use sunscreen, I will not lose weight! Enjoying this time with my husband.
