Happy weekend, O-Zies!!!

I have GREAT news to share! My niece got accepted into Vet School!! She didn't think she was going to be able to get in since she lost so many "animal hours" because of the pandemic. She had planned on taking a gap year but she got in! Whoo-hoo! She is going to OK State. I know OK is a huge state but is it anywhere near you @Cherylndesigns? I am so happy for her, she called Caitlyn yesterday with the good news, and Cait shared it at dinner. And now I get to celebrate too :)

I love starting the day with good news. I know you have good things to share too- let's hear them! It doesn't matter if it is something small, like a new coffee pot, let's share :)

The weather yesterday was really wonderful and today it's back to being cool and cloudy. Maybe it will get nicer later on? I hope so. I'm not sure if he was serious, but Scott was talking about the beaver dam last night and I asked to go see it- he suggested today. If he want to go, I am 100% wanting to do that. My cousin and I had a marathon catch-up chat session yesterday. Her younger son and Scott sound like they would get along well. He is big into hiking too. Put them in a forest and they would have a blast.
I ended up being out much longer than I had expected and had to start dinner as soon as I got home so I didn't get to spend any more time cleaning up the photos on my phone. I am going to work on that this morning in case Scott does want to take me to see the beaver dam later on.

Enjoy the weekend!!

@tanteva Isn't it a bummer that you have to work to get money? pfft- there needs to be an easier way without resorting to sugar daddies hahaha!!! Did the Dr appt go ok and what did you make for dinner? Pancakes would be good comfort food in my house, mac and cheese is another favorite here.

@BrightEyes Sorry to hear that DS's visit is cut short but as a mom, I know that it makes your heart happy to know he is off to see his sister
Woo hoo -- that is good news to share that you have a new modem. *fingers crossed that Jim was able to get the computer hooked up properly*

@taxed4ever I wish the weather was nice enough here to get the yard cleaned up and the house washed. It is a mess. :(
I bet you and your Gary got lots of stuff accomplished together- you are a fab team
Mojo-- What is that??? :(

@bcgal00 How did the vet visit go? It has to be hard finding/trusting a new vet after so many years. That dresser is really nice! Have fun painting with Jen too

@Cherylndesigns So much for warm sunshine and cool breezes... I bet that between the heat and wind it is kicking up tons of dust too. RE: coffee pots and just about every other appliance--That is a good theory and while correct, I hate it! I feel like I should shake my cane, sitting on the porch in my rocking chair- shouting into the wind "They sure don't make things like they used to"

@LSlycord Oh no! Sooooo sorry to hear about Brian's job. Just like that? *snaps fingers* No warning or anything???
That really bites.
I am glad that you had a wonderful visit with your niece and her family, sounds delish too

Good morning my lovely ladies! Good news! Well, it isn't new, but it is good! Because one week from today, we are heading to Europe! Oh yes! Doing a happy dance now! And Shaun and Syd only have 4 more days of classes remaining and they have successfully completed their first year of college.

And I had the most delightful week with my niece and her family. Have some cute pics to scrap. And what about @Lynn Grieveson and her new kit? Is that not going to be perfect for my scrapping of this trip? Love all of the layouts that I've seen with that.

@faerywings congrats to your niece! Vet school is a big, darned accomplishment! Love that Scott continues to share all about his job with you. If you go to the beaver dam, take pics! Sounds like a fun day! What about Cait---how long before she finishes? Has she started looking for jobs yet? So much change at your house...like mine! We are in a change state my friend!

@BrightEyes I hope that you had a good visit with your son. Good that he is there to crawl under the desk and get the computer situated. I highly recommend the WiFi extenders. We have two of them and it really helps us even as far as the pool deck.

@Cherylndesigns hope your good weather continues. And I saw puppies on your FB feed...they are really growing!

@tanteva do you make your pancakes sweet or savory? I love both!

@taxed4ever I know how those days are for getting things done. Brian just asked what we were doing today because usually our weekend days are packed with tasks. I told him that we were getting ready for Europe so no errands today.

@faerywings we thought that it was coming. The interest rates had slowed the number of loans so they were going to reduce staff at some time. But didn't think it would happen quite yet. I told him that we really need to sit down and figure out what our goals are...I have been saying that I'm not sure that Florida is my forever home but I don't want to leave until the kids are out of college...that in state tuition is important.

@bcgal00 so many new adventures. But it comes with so many new things to figure out as well. New vets, new doctors, new grocery stores...lol. You can tell that I'm still in the "new" stage 3 years later.

Good morning ladies. I'm heading out for a photo walk with a friend soon. It's going to be a good day for it. The sun is out and should hit about 70ish today.

The vet visit was wonderful yesterday. They are so friendly and the dogs were happy (they were given a ton of treats). They also gave me the name of a clinic to go to so hopefully they are still taking appointments. If so, I'll go in soon so I can get in the system (just in case they stop taking in new patients).

@faerywings Glad for your niece. What great news. That'll be cool if you get to see the beaver dam.

I'm getting ready and heading out in a few minutes. Hope to get a few bird pics and some scenery/garden shots. Have a good day everyone.

Morning ladies... Well yesterday did not go as expected (what a shocker!). Instead of doing all of running around and getting groceries we ended up going on a nice long hike. DH decided to just enjoy his extra day off and spend it outside in the beautiful surrounding of Chemainus Lake. The perfect hike for him as he has never done it and it is not a difficult one with just a couple of ups and downs. When we returned home, he parked himself in front of the tv and watched a movie, while I puttered in my craft room making a card for the neighbour's little girl. Her birthday is next week. We decided that 4:30 was wine O'clock and we sat down on the front porch and watched the world go by. It was a lovely day! So guess what we are doing today? The sun is shining and hopefully we will get an early start to our running around and get home before noon, so we can start on some power washing etc.

@faerywings - Wow I can hear the happiness in your voice all the way over here! It makes my heart glad! How wonderful that your niece got accepted to Vet School! Congrats to her!! I hope that the weather turns warmer and sunnier for you today and that you get to go see the Beavers today with your son!

@LSlycord - Ohhh Nooo, that is horrible that your DH was laid off!! You don't seem to be too concerned about though, so that is good!! That stuff can all wait until you return home from your amazing vacation together! So happy that you had such a great time with your company! You really did spoil them with all that delicious food!!

@bcgal00 - That is so wonderful that you found a great Vet for the dogs! Now I will keep my fingers crossed that you are able to get a great dr. too! So many new projects on the go and how fun to get the house all decorated to your liking! Enjoy your photo walk today! Sounds like everything is coming together for you all! I couldn't be happier for you!

Ok I need to get us some brunch and we have to get busy with our day! The hours fly by and there is lots to do! Have a great Saturday ladies!

Chris @faerywings great news for your niece! OK state (to us the "other" OSU) is in Stillwater, a long way from Cheryl as it is west of Tulsa a good bit and she is east. Hope you go to see the beaver dam.

Good news is that it's sunny and warm and should be tomorrow too before it cools off again.

I am finally in here today... a bit late but was saying goodbye to son Jim and DiL Alyn this morning. We had a wonderful visit. DD Chari, her DH and son came down for supper last evening and to see Jim & Alyn. I had fixed "American Hot Tamales" (family name for cabbage rolls) which everyone loved. Chari is progressing and is walking with just a little bit of assistance from the walker. So good to see her getting around so well. She is hoping to graduate to using a cane in the next week or so. I was sad to see Jim leave but know that DD#1 is so glad that they are squeezing in a visit to her on their way home.

Yes, Jim was able to figure out what was going on with my computer... Apparently when the tech was here the cable from the modem to my computer came unplugged and the tech didn't know where it went - so draped it over the top of desk next to the printer. Jim plugged it back in for me... plus was able to pull more of the cable from DH's computer to the modem so I could move the modem onto the wider shelf so no danger of the modem falling from the narrower shelf it had been on. He also changed the time on the new TV from eastern time to mountain time. And showed me more about using the remote for it. So nice to have a 'tech' son to help me out!!! LOL

Don't know if you have heard but we are having lots of wind (50 mph with gusts over 65+mph) all day yesterday and more wind expected today. Temp may get to 65 late today and still cold tomorrow. Then back up into the 80's by Tuesday. I swear it seems like a lot of New Mexico is on fire... have 5 major fires with no containment due to high winds. Several towns have been evacuated already. Thank goodness they are not really close to me. Although there was a house fire that spread to the house next door... that was less than a mile from my neighborhood. They were able to contain it to the 2 houses. Thank goodness the highways that Jim will taking to get to his sister's are clear with no fires near them.

Decided that this would be a PJ day for me... so I snuggled in my warm velour housecoat since it feels more like winter than spring today. By the time I got the extra Am Tamales packed into single servings plastic bins and put in the freezer, it was after noon so why get dressed!! :D Unfortunately the back is still very stiff and sore so not wanting to do much but rest and relax. Need to take some meds and go sit in the recliner with massager going... and hope that loosens the back. CYL

Good afternoon my lovelies.

I finally made it in here - Adrienne and I decided, last minute, to go to lunch and run some errands. We went to this kind of new (really good) place in town. The food is fresh and fixed to order. It's called "Newks" and I'm not sure if it's a franchise or not. Then we went to Walgreen's and just browsed - we split up and just browsed. Boy, have prices gone up - I wanted some Suave bath soap and it used to be 99 cents and now it's 5.99! However, with my Walgreen's card, I got 2 for 5.99, but still.......

Chris @faerywings that's awesome news about your niece!!! I guess that's a great vet school among other things. I looked it up for a minute and it looks amazing! It's in Stillwater and that's about 2 hours from us. Chuck thought it was closer, but he checked too and said it was 2 hours. If you're ever out this way - we'll definitely meet up!!!

LOL about shaking your cane at the wind and swearing about the appliances. Speaking of wind, it's so strong today - when we were walking across parking lots, it would have blown my baseball cap off had I not held onto it. Terrible!

Kay @BrightEyes I think your wind is even higher than ours - we can hardly stand up in ours, so I can't imagine 60 mph. Sorry you're still stiff and sore, but thankfully no broken bones. I know it was sad to see everybody leave.

Linda @LSlycord how exciting - school ending, getting ready for your trip! Yes, Lynn's new kit will be perfect - she has lots of awesome templates and so does Lilach! I've been addicted to Lynn's templates for years! I used to do Project 12 (I did monthly pages) and just quit doing them last year. I still love pocket scrapping though and do it quite often. You can get so much on each page. Aren't the puppies getting big? Ava can barely "scoop" both of them up at once now. They're growing so fast. You should see Daisy, Lila and the puppies all running around in my house. Too funny!

I got my first layout done, using Lynn's new template and kit and will be uploading momentarily. I used some pictures from my last plant trip - back in 2019. LOL

Have a great weekend!

Good morning to you!
I am disappointed- I didn't get to hike or see any beaver dams yesterday. Scott had a bunch of things to do and I didn't want to bother him. We will have plenty of time to check them out another day. I am definitely going to make an effort o to find time to do that. Gary ran over to the feed store and got new harnesses for the dogs so maybe Jaida will be better at walking and not pulling. I know that I have to be more active and I would *love* to lose a few pounds before Caitlyn's graduation party. I would love to lose a good 7-8 lbs but that isn't going to happen.
I am finding it so strange that I am stress-eating now since I always stopped eating when I was stressed. The last couple of years messed me up hah

The weather ended up being very nice, it did warm up and I was able to get another couple of hours cleaning up the leaves from the gardens. There is still so much more to do. I found some Mystery Plants in one section. I end up moving stuff around and can never remember what I put where. There are 4 stalks of something popping up -- could be weeds or something invasive or could be beautiful flowers-to-be. *shrugs* The forsythia cuttings that I planted last year took and look like they are going to do fab where they are.

I feel pretty scattered this morning - yesterday too- and I realized that I stopped writing my detailed To-Do lists. That must have been a bigger help than I thought. So -- back to it.
I am almost done copying over the photos from the old phone to my computer. (Eventually, I am going to have to clean them up too and delete the blurry ones). I have one year's worth of folders to go through. Then I can set up the new phone. Can you believe I have had it for days and still haven't done anything other than charge it? LOL

Plan of Attack for Sunday: Laundry, cell phone, food shopping list, yard work, Cheery O duties. Not necessarily in that order but all of them will need my attention at some point
Wish me lucko_O ;)

Good morning ladies! I scrapped a page yesterday and I'm going to get another one scrapped today. Still putting the finishing touches on Europe and starting to pack. It is a bit frenetic here this weekend! But it is a happy frenetic...and I'm not sure that I have ever used that word in a sentence before! We have Amazon packages arriving daily...sometimes hourly. Between the kids needing a few new outfits for Europe  and starting dorm shopping for Syd and, of course I have a few items as well...

@bcgal00 I saw your photos on Facebook...you are an amazing photographer. Glad that you are getting out and exploring the area.

@taxed4ever what a wonderful day you and DH had on Friday...especially wine o'clock on the porch with the new furniture! Those days are extra special! Hope that yesterday accomplished everything on your errand list.

@scrap-genie waving hi!

@BrightEyes I'm so glad that DS was able to get things sorted out for you. You have had some really good family time and I know how that feeds the soul. Hope that the back settles down soon.

@faerywings sorry that the beaver dam didn't work out but glad that you got the dogs new harnesses. LOL about the stress eating. I've always been a stress eater.

@Cherylndesigns I don't know why I hadn't used any templates until just recently. Boy does that help my scrapping! And prices have gone insane. Seriously! And with all of the puppies running through the house, you could use frenetic in a sentence I'm sure.

Off to check out the gallery.

@LSlycord Yippeeeeeee!! The real countdown is happening!! I am so excited for you, did you see Lynn has a new kit about travel? I saw it in her newsletter and thought of you immediately. Wow, congrats to both kids finishing their first years of college.
Bwahaha-- I kept reading your post- yes, you saw Lynn's kit! :D
Caitlyn's last day on campus is May 5th (I think!) and graduation is May 19. *gulps* We were semi-joking that this is going to be the first time in 21 years that she wasn't going back to school in September. *double gulps*
She has a summer job at the college. Her immediate supervisor is on maternity leave so she will be covering her position. It isn't "official" yet since HR still needs to give final approval but the people who matter (in the Student Success Center) have all approved the hire so it seems pretty solid. That will give her a few months to take her licensing exam and look for something more permanent.
Oh yes- we both are surely in a change state!!
Good luck with Brian and the job s***. So smart- don't even think about it until after vacation

@bcgal00 I am so thrilled that you are getting out and about with your friend and camera. <3
Glad that the dogs did well at the vet!

@taxed4ever Even though the plans didn't go as expected, it had to be *much* nicer to hike instead of shop. And a perfect end of a nice day together- sit back with a glass of home-brewed and bottled wine :)
How are your Gary's knees doing after the hike? Bet it won't slow him down no matter how they feel.

@scrap-genie Hi and thanks for the congrats for my niece! It is so funny how the concept of distance is so off for me living in such a small state. To get from East to West of NJ borders- an hour and a half (no traffic) North to South- 4 hours (again all caveats on traffic).
I hope that the cooler weather doesn't happen, and it stays sunny and warm

@BrightEyes I am sending big hugs to you, the house must feel very quiet after the last month of people coming and going. xoxoxo
That is great news about Chari getting around so well! High 5s to Jim for getting the computer and modem issues solved too. Good thoughts to your state and the fires-- it seems early for fire season? (As if there are weather seasons at this point huhn). Hope you enjoyed your pj day and that your back and ankles are feeling much better by today.

@Cherylndesigns It is truly depressing how expensive everything is these days, I get soooo aggravated when the family thinks I can buy whatever food they ask for and still stay in my relative budget. I never could do that, now it is 10000000 times worse.
I had a feeling that chances were low that OSU would be nearby but it would be fun to dream about visiting you.

xoxoxo to everyone!!

We've been sorting & organizing all day. Parts of out home are beginning to look good.

Urban went out to vacuum in the car & managed to bang his head into the open door. No cut/blood, but he's got a really bad bruise coming. I've ordered him to sit down & take it easy, and I will watch him like a hawk to see that he doesn't show any symptoms of concussion.

Like I always said - cleaning is dangerous.

However, this means I have to sit here by the computer. Meant to go upstairs and sort/clean/organize a drawer or two. Now I will stay here on concussion watch & scrap a layout instead.

Good morning ladies. I'm heading out in a few minutes for a photo walk at a lake just outside of Kamloops. It's a fave spot of my friend and if we finish up there we'll head to another spot she likes. Then home for a few hours of loading photos and resting before Jen and I take the dogs up into the grasslands for a swim in the afternoon. Busy but fun day. I'll check in later today.

Good morning everyone! It is a much nicer day than the forecast said it would be so Hooray!! Yesterday was super busy for DH and I, but a good day of getting lots accomplished! This morning we are bottling a Chardonnay Yumm!! So listening to some good music and washing bottles shortly. Later this morning I am heading to my sisters for coffee and very late birthday cake with her and my other sister. It will be great to catch up with them, its been far too long since we have gotten together. Sorry that again today I will not be able to do personals, but hey I have the rest of next week to catch up. No hike for me on Wednesday as I am getting my hair cut and coloured and the hike is a very long way from here. Darn gas prices need to come back down again! Ok its time to get busy so I wish you all a wonderful day, hope its filled with fun things to do!

It's another warm day and we're going birding in a bit. Our yard this morning showed the change of weather with a singing House Wren and a spiffy Chipping Sparrow, both newly arrived migrants. Also cabbage butterflies are out. Not such wonderful creatures, but a sign of the warmth.

Chris @faerywings sorry you didn't get to the beaver dam, but you'll get there. How nice Cait has that summer job coming to tide her over. We remember the excitement 20 years ago (or so) when a niece got her MSW in Maryland. Wonder what those four stalks will become.

@LSlycord what excitement, and even using frenetic more than once! It sounds wonderful at this time of getting ready and your chain almost gone.

Eva @tanteva guess cleaning really is dangerous. How kind of you to stay by Urban to keep an eye on him and suffer from sitting to scrap. ;)

Rae @bcgal00 the new areas you're exploring sound fascinating. Hope you'll scrap some photos as I can't see them on FB.

Trudy @taxed4ever I too think the wine o'clock time was perfect. Today will be lovely too it seems.

Cheryl @Cherylndesigns the rumpus with the dogs and pups must drive Sam nuts. With Ava there I'm sure it's delightful.

Good afternoon, Lovelies.

Raining so much here today - it's very dark and depressing (if one is inclined to that -) but I'm not going to let it get me down, no I'm not. I've got my SAD light on. Hahaha SAD light=happy. That has always seems a little like an oxymoron.

Jean @scrap-genie I love seeing you stop by! You know it about Sam - he usually jumps up and gets out of "the line of fire" when the pups are here. I was watching yesterday - Sam was sitting on the floor, minding his own business and one of the pups walked over to him. The pup started trying to "play" and Sam took it for a minute, then "whack" right across the nose. Hahaha That pup got the message real fast.

Linda @LSlycord I HAVE to remember that word "frenetic" - I love that word! Ava calls it "Cici's Animal House" when all 4 of the dogs are here + the cat. My DD doesn't like it when they're there, because pups DO make messes. I always say "oh heck, we'll just clean it up." Yesterday, for instance, they not only got drinks from Daisy's water bowl, they got their front paws in the water bowl then proceeded to track water all over the floor. Hahaha My DD would have a fit if they did that at her house.

Glad you're in "excitement mode" - go and have a blast and then come back and figure things out. You're SO right about the templates - both Lynn's and Lilach's are amazing for doing multiple pictures. I've done a couple of travel albums with Lynn's templates. You'll like Lilach's templates, too. They're both unique in their own way.

Chris @faerywings sorry you didn't get to go out with Scott yesterday, but spring is just getting a good start. You'll have plenty of time. Ava and Ryan don't care how cold it is, but I do. Hahaha

I don't know how families can possibly stay on any kind of a budget! It's crazy the price increases. Not only that, you don't even know if you can find what you want when you go out. There are things that are just not available anymore. I think our area was late to the party of things not being available, but we're just starting to feel it too. It's very frustrating.

As far as seeing each other some day, 2 hours (half way) is very doable. We drive 45 minutes to get to "decent" shopping and it's only a little over an hour to Tulsa. The girls don't think anything about driving over there to shop and Roger has family who live there, too. I would gladly meet you half-way if you ever get out here!

I'd better go - we're going to brave this ugly weather to go up to Adrienne's for dinner. That's definitely worth slogging out for.

XOXO
