happy Saturday!

Feel free to ignore next part of this as I ramble on about how cranky I am. My mom and I had a really nice morning and lunch. We went to this discount curtain store, and I found what I thought to be really nice swags for the DR window, plus a set of blinds and curtain for the window in the LR. Gary hates them all and wants me to return them. Thinks they are ugly, don't match, likes the old ones better. Whatever. :mmph:

My frustration is that I am trying so hard to make this house look not so shabby and run down without spending any money. So for $50, I redid the table and chairs. For $30 I was hoping to get some new life from cheap window treatments. I don't understand why it all has to be such a fight. I ended up getting really mad and yelled, and then when outside and pulled weeds for a couple of hours.

Today is Beautification Day in town and we are doing out b-fast and then clean up of the street. I woke up to rain and it is still really cloudy so I hope this pulls off ok. At the least, we can have b-fast, right?

If it is a yucky day, i don't know what I am going to do, I need to get out of this house and do something since the mood I am in in not healthy. For anyone around me either.

So that is about it from me, I am going to stop  now.

All clear!!
Safe to come out!!!

xoxo

Trace- do you like to shop? I hate it now, but I used to enjoy it. would love to see pics in the new dress!
My dad is almost completely deaf in one ear, due to genetics/Meniere's. His vertigo is inthe other ear. His dr said that there is surgery to fix the tinnitus and vertigo but causes hearing loss in that ear. He would have had it done, if it was the ear that was deaf anyway. But nope- no such luck there.
Hope yours gets cleared up quickly.

Cindy- I feel your car-pain. Ask Nancy how many times I said that I was jealous that she has a son who was a mechanic. Thank goodness you have a loaner.
:pound: That is *exactly* what Pinterest is!!
Do you have a dog? Or had one? We love sharing dog stories here.

Nancy-My tulips are coming op and that is always a nice sign!
men!! They have no clue on anything!!!!! (sorry, my aggravation seems to be bleeding through a bit...)
Sounds like Luther has a girlfriend in Stella :)

Trudy- I still have to take the pics of the chairs around the table to show you all. Too many choices for you? Have you narrowed down what colors you might use?
The hike/forest is beautiful!

I had no idea how common vertigo is. My Grandfather had it and as you know my dad does too, but I didn't really know anyone else outside of them, and here you all are.

Kat- woo hoo for the light at the end of the tunnel! IRS guidelines- sounds very complicated.
Scott asked me for help filling out his W-4 for the new job, which is like trying to read another language.
At the bottom of the form it says "If you have suggestions on how to make this form simpler, contact blah blah blah." Really??? :frusty:
Hope that you were able to get some time hanging out here too!

Great news from the GP, Rae!
Sounds like a fab walk with Bailey and the dogs. is she still doing well? The herons must be gorgeous to see.Good luck finding a good TV for the kitchen.

LOL at all of you cross posting. Guess no one really wants to get up at 5 am EST to cross post with me. :p

Good morning!! sorry I posted and ran yesterday! My day got busier than expected and I never got back to the thread!!

Thanks for all the comments about my ear/vertigo.

Trudy, to answer your question, yes, I had the tinnitus and it was horrible. 2 weeks straight and drove me nuts. It has gone now too. I'm going on week 12 with this and it *IS* getting better but it's not gone. Vestibular neuritis is supposed to only last about three to four weeks tops, unless the nerve is damaged. The virus is the same virus that causes shingles and chicken pox. I only get dizzy now if I'm tired and it's not really vertigo anymore, it's more like a "woozy feeling" like my brain is moving. It's really hard to describe. I'm hoping the physiotherapy can put it to rest once and for all.

I found TWO dresses yesterday that are both amazing!!!! Best part? They were both on clearance at the same store and I got them for 80% off!!! The total of the two of them was not even close to the original price of one!! I was so happy!!

Chris, sorry you are getting so frustrated but I get it. I have so much trouble trying to accessorize in my house. I'm good with colour (duh!) but I can't for the life of me coordinate accents. My DH hates anything frilly or flowery so I'm limited even in the bedroom. If I want a new comforter, it has to be striped or solid...he won't have flowers on it! LOL...it's crazy!!!

I hope you can figure it out. Maybe we can all brainstorm with you.

I have to take my son to the oral surgeon today for a consult. He has a molar under his gums by his FRONT teeth, that never came out, so it has to be removed. He doesn't want to have the surgery until summer because he won't be able to play in the band for 2 weeks after. So we are going for the consult and then we will go from there.

Hope everyone has a lovely day!!!

Morning ladies! Chris, I've got the same rain that, I suspect, you're getting - or will get - this morning. It's nice, though, and so needed - the pollen is everywhere and Mother Nature needs to tell it to calm down!! Right now I'm on my work laptop (yeah, won't go there), sitting at the dining table ... back door open, Pandora station on (Michael Buble-style music), listening to rain in the background. Even Haddie's enjoying it, lying near the open door, just sniffing the air. Can't figure out if she actually wants to go out or not ... oh well, she's a big girl and can 'go' in the rain if she really needs to. LOL

Yeah, IRS regulation are a real page-turner. :smash: At least I'm done with that - for now.

Sorry to hear your day is sucky with the curtain saga. :( Hopefully b-fast will put things on a more positive note ... although kudos to you on all the garden weeding. Wanna visit me and do mine?! LOL

Trace. Photos!! Need to see the dresses - sounds like you grabbed quite the bargain!! How did the oral consult go with your son? Mine has surgery next month to have his wisdom teeth out (I think they're doing all four) because at 21 they still haven't come through -- and are growing horizontal!! Yup, they are sideways and are so close to touching his back tooth that his dentist is concerned that with even the smallest movement, he would be in excruciating pain. Of course, she's been telling us this for three years, but now she's put her foot down.

LMAO!! My dog is such a goober!! She's just gone outside and since it's raining, she's stuck to all the covered areas, ran quickly to the grass, did what she needed, and then sprinted inside. Now, she's standing here, wagging her tail and barking at me, talking, like "Hey Mom! I did it! I went outside to pee!" ...

Um, folks, it's hardly raining at all.

Morning ladies... quickly in and out of here again today, DH is in a mood and wanting to get to Costco early this morning. Then I reminded him that it doesn't open until 10am anyway, so now he is pouting and driving me crazy!! He is in a bad mood because our lovely neighbours have once again woken us up with their fighting and the dogs continuous barking!! Its going to be a long, long summer!!! :rollpin: Phylis where the heck are you when I need you!!! Then to make matters worse DH was woken up at 5am to the sound of voices outside, seems our other neighbour (who is in the process of selling his house) well I guess his oldest daughter decided it would be a great idea to have a party while her Dad was away. He works away from home but comes home on Saturdays to keep the house in order for showings I can't wait to see what happens when he sees what she has been up to :gaah: The neighbour hood has gone to hell in a hand basket!!

Chris - So glad that you had a nice time with your Mom! Give your Gary a good kick in the pants for me and tell him he will get used to the new stuff!! Men never think that any kind of change is good and always have the attitude that if something isn't broken then don't fix it! :frusty: You are doing an amazing job on improving the look of your home on a shoestring budget!! So there!!!

Trace - Oh that lovely HSV virus! The same virus that gave my Heather (daughter) viral encephalitis and nearly killed her. I sure hope that the physio will make it all better again!!
Yes please show us the dresses, sounds like you had an amazing shopping trip!! I never find deals like that LOL

Kat - Too funny about your sweet dog! So proud of actually peeing outside in the drizzle!! :pound: Sure wish I could laugh about my neighbours dogs, but its not the dogs that I don't like its the irresponsible dog owners that they are!! :gaah: I could just strangle them!! Hope you have a great weekend!!

Ok DH is now wanting his breakfast so we can get going sheesh!! Its going to be an interesting day!! :becky: Have a great day ladies!!

Good morning, ladies. A quick pop in here to say hi and then need to get on with my day. I have a bit of everything to do today. Work on taxes, clean house, do laundry, run errands, get groceries, plan dinner and if I'm lucky....a bit of scrapping time later to work on my challenges.

We got a 19" flatscreen tv last night for the kitchen and it was under $100 so that was great. It took my hubs quite awhile to get the wall mount installed and then programming everything. He still can't seem to sync the tv and shaw box together which drives him crazy. Plus it took over an hour for him to set all the audio and picture quality selectors the way he wanted. He's really finicky about stuff like that. Not me, if it works, I'm good with it. I don't need to fuss with it.

Chris - hope the weekend is calm and relaxing for you.

Everyone else....hope you all have a great wkend too.

Katharine, thanks for asking. Adam's oral consult went good but surprising. The surgeon says his wisdom teeth should come out too. He is only (almost) 15!!! Turns out the bottom wisdoms are dangerously close to a major nerve. If the grow into it, Adam could lose feeling in his lower jaw. Not a good thing for a trombone player! So he wants o do the superlative tooth under the gums AND the wisdom teeth at the same time. We have to get at CT an done so he can see better and it won't be until summer so Adam won't miss any of his concerts. Hoping our benefits will cover all of it at once.

I have photos of the dresses on my phone. Will try to load them tomorrow.

Happy Sunday!!

The weather turned out nicer than it started yesterday, which was good. We had a fun b-fast at my friends then picked up an enormous amount of beer bottles and plastic whiskey bottles up and down the street.
BFFATS and I also had a chance to share our lives' difficulties quickly and my heart breaks, I don't understand why everything seems to be such a struggle, for so many people at this time. And not little things either. Everyone has an enormous amount of s***.

Got home, then Gary and I had it out, it had been brewing...in case ya hadn't noticed. ;)

After that I was too exhausted to do anything, so I painted some more of the pine cone zinnias and sheesh, I hate them. They look terrible, total #Pinterestfail.

Watched some Kimmy Schmidt with Gary and Caitlyn, makes me laugh every time. Started a new book, Missing Pieces, and went to bed.

Today, I need to work on my schedule for next week, and I want to work a bit more in the yard. I have wildflower seeds that I have to get in the ground, plus repotting some of the seeds i started inside a couple of weeks ago. One of the pea plants is already over 4" and is going to need something to climb on.

I also have to thin out some of the seedlings and that always makes me sad. I hate feeling killing themSuch a :hippie:. I guess I could try replanting them but I know they won't make that kind of a transfer successfully.

I think I am need another cup/pot of coffee. TTYS and have a GREAT day!

Whew! I am re-caffeinated! Never decaffeinated:cof3:

I have been up since 6.30 and can't believe I have wasted so much time online doing absolutely *nothing.* Actually, I do believe it that is kinda scary.

Anyway, let me do some quick personals and get my act together. At least a little bit together.
And jaida wants to play. Give me 5 minutes please, puppy!!!she wants me to chase her, and I might be caffeinated, but not that much!
Cait just came in and she played with J for a couple of minutes.

Trace- this is a No Stress Zone, at least re: posting. Just post however much or little as you like or have time for.
Good shopping, to get 2 dresses at the price!
My hubby is the same way too- no flowers but that is ok, I am not flowery person either. But darn it, I would like at least one room to look nice!

Ugh about the wisdom teeth. My dad, myself and my son all had/have ones (same one too!) impacted on a nerve. My dad had his out and they hit the nerve, and has no feeling in one spot, I had mine out but the dr had to break it into many pieces and I felt almost all of it in spite of Novocaine. Scott's surgeon said it would be more dangerous to take it out then leave it in and its going to stay there unless it bothers him. I hope that your son has no issues at all!

Kat- yup, rain, then clouds and then the sun came out. Sun is shining here and it looks beautiful, cannot wait to get outside. My girls are the same way, they want to be outside all day, just sniffing the air- cracks me up to watch them. Hysterical about her not wanting to get wet
Good luck to Stan with the wisdom teeth, it is a brutal thing.

Trudy- oh nooooooooooooo! That sucks about the neighbors- already :(
Hope that the day went a bit betetr and quieter for you all.

Rae- that is a great find for the TV! Enjoy!

Have a fab day ladies!!!!

good late morning - missed posting yesterday as the day just went by so fast. We took Luther to a new park and he found water and he loves it. He saw mallards sitting beside a the lake and chased them and they obviously went in the water and he followed. too funny! You could see surprise and then it was like wow this is fun. He met other dogs and people and was one tired dog by the time we came home. Today to another park with a small creek and again this time before my husband could react he was in the water chasing geese. The further up the creek was an awesome spot for just wading and he loved it. I am tired too. It is pretty funny my DH and Luther will explore ahead but he always makes sure that he can find me before he gets too far ahead. What a sweetie. But oh boy does he smell so we rinse him off when we get home and that does not make him happy. Not sure why not. Well my DH got mad and now our back door is broken. It needed to be replace but I doubt that was on his list of things to do today. We have taken the car my son drives and he is not happy because he feels we should not let the dog smelling into the car. Really. Today is more hockey and then out to dinner with friends. Got some more scrapping done so that makes me happy. Tomorrow is final errands before trip.

Chris it was awesome the way the weather has been so beautiful this weekend. A little rain in the am and then sun and more sun today. Sometimes you just have to get your feelings out. I am sure you are much better off getting the feelings out that keeping it bottled up.

Trace so glad you got your dresses. Fun to find bargains! My son had his lower wisdom teeth out and the doctor hit a nerve and it was days before the numbness went away. It drove him crazy. It was so bad that he will not have anymore removed because it may happen again. He was just out of high school. I had no idea this could happen as no one in my family ever had this problem. Good luck. It sounds like your doctor knows these risks so I am sure he will be super careful.

Trudy I can't believe your neighbors! what a pain. Hope it is better today!

Kat so cute how your dog is proud he went out and did not get wet!

Rae hope the weekend is going well

Have a great day all!

Happy Sunday ladies!! I bit quieter here this morning, but DH said he heard our lovely loud neighbour yelling at someone at 3am!! REALLY!!! I wish they would just move away!!

Chris - Yup sometimes its best to just have that fight and get it over with!! Hopefully now that the tension is out in the open things will get back to peacefulness for you both! Good luck with the planting today! I need to get to the nursery and find the supertunias that I love to have for my planters before they are all gone. It might have to wait until tomorrow though. Hope you get to do something fun today!

Nancy - Sounds like Luther is quite the swimmer!! Oh fun for him, although I bet the ducks don't think so LOL. Sorry your son does not like the dog smell in his car, but hey wasn't it his idea for you to get a dog? :becky: Have fun on your trip!! Wish I could join you, it sounds like this one will be a lot of fun for you!!

Rae - Sounds like your weekend is full of errands and running around! Hooray on finding the new flat screen tv! Hope your hubby doesn't obsess too much over the setting up of it! My DH is the same way, it has to be just perfect and he will work for hours trying to get his screen just so!! Enjoy your sunday!!

Trace - Hope thing work out for your son and the dental issues, it would be a shame if he could not play his trombone for a long time!! Looking forward to your dress photos!

Ok I better run and get some breakfast going, DH is cooking breakfast sausages on the BBQ and I will get the pancakes made. Yum!! Have a great Sunday ladies!!

This is the first dress. I will wear this on April 30th to a Ladies Appreciation night. I'm giving a speech so I thought it appropriate and I love the colour.

This is the second dress and I fell in love as soon as I put it on. It doesn't do it justice in this awful photo! I do need about 2 inches off the bottom and will take it to get altered this week. I will wear it on May 13th for the Wine Maker's Dinner we attend. It's black tie and DH will be in a tux. It's a seven course meal paired with wines. Five star chef and a sommelier to boot! IT's our favourite event of the year. Last year the dinner was amazing.

I don't drink, but I still love the food lol.

Ooooh, those dresses look great, Trace!

Rain gone.
Sun out.
Me + drink + Michael Buble + laptop + patio ... heaven!

I keep getting distracted by the wildlife in our backyard. So far, two small lizards, a huge butterfly, and a really pretty dragonfly. At some point, I'll probably get around to scrapping LOL

Tomorrow and Tuesday are supposed to be 80+ degrees ... me thinks it will be time to test out the office patio for working ;)

Yesterday, I spent two hours at a church meeting and it's two hours of my life I will never get back. Luckily, the day went better after that. I had an amazing sweet potato encrusted tile (fish) for lunch. Then we went and looked at model homes. We found what may be the most perfect floor plan for the two of us that we have ever seen. There are two problems though. First, the HOA limit on two pets (which they seem to define as cats and dogs). We currently have two dogs and one cat. I'm not willing to give up my right to always have two dogs and a cat or even add another cat should the right kitty come into our lives. The second is the 1 Million dollar plus price tag. lol

No, the car has not come back to me.

Chris, I am sorry you were having a bad couple of days. *hugs* And yes, I have dogs. Two huge baby brats. One is 50 lbs and is 12 years old. The other is 70 lbs and 10 years old. I love their bratly selves so much. I also have a cat who I estimate is 6 or 7. We've had him for almost five years and he was full grown when he decided to become our cat.

Trace, don't you love a good shopping buy? Nothing makes my day more than getting a good deal.

Kat, my girl dog is so odd about any moisture. No walking n the rain or fog. No touching grass if the feet might get wet.

Trudy, I hope your day improved after such a sucky start.
