CHEERY O
Why, oh why am I awake this early???? *grumble grumble* I got to bad around 11 which is waaaaay past my bedtime, woke up at 5 to go to the bathroom and then couldn't get back to sleep. Its not fair!

The party last night was fun- its always a good thing to be able to have a couple of glasses of wine with friends and then walk home. And we'll all be walking back up there in 2 hours for breakfast and roadside clean-up. *fingers crossed that the rain holds off* But boy, do we need that rain! (Remind how rain is good after my basement floods, ok??)

I was so proud of Cait yesterday, she made it all day at school without talking. When she got home, she wanted to still be silent but I made her talk. I know, what was I thinking?? LOL But I couldn't figure out what she was mouthing to me. At any rate, it is all about awareness so i told her YES!! I am aware!!! Now talk!!

Then she flips me out with "proof" that a girl in her school is pregnant. 12 years old!!! She is 6 months along and posted ultrasound photos on her FB page!!!! :faint: I am flabbergasted, just speechless..... it has to be a joke, right? But apparently not. And Cait tells me that the girls says she is keeping it and her mom is OK with it.

I am hoping this to be another "teachable moment" because that is not OK to me on so many levels. ahhhh!!! Cait is on the same page as me, and hopefully we won't ever be in that position. But wow. Just wow. :(

Life just never ceases to amaze me. :noidea::loco:

What fun stuff do all of you have planned for the weekend? Hope it is awesome whatever you do!

Friday personals:

Laurie- I am ordering tomato plants today too, yum!
Yay for YMG returning home!

Phyllis- what?? Don't blow your nose for 10 days? In the spring with crazyhigh levels of pollen? That sounds fun.

Maureen- how did your energy work go? I meant to ask you (and thank you too) for posting the immune boosting "pose." Can you do that sitting or is is better to be lying down? And how long do you hold it for? And... do you have one for nausea and vomiting? Gary has actually tried acupressure points for that, but if it doesn't work immediately he gives up. (men!)

Nana- Gary is the same way too with time and I used to be like before kids. I tend to get anxious about being late so its easier for me to plan on being early and giving myself a cushion rather than having an anxiety attack by being late. But if the kids tell Gary that they will be home at 7. If he doesn't see them walking up the driveway at 7pm and 10 seconds, he is texting them, where are you??

I can't imagine anyone bullying you, ever..... I think I was more ignored rather than bullied. I was the Ally Sheedy Character in The Breakfast Club LOL
But don't mess with me now and don't ever mess with my kids!

Good luck with your applications to the state.Every little bit helps.

Trudy! Spill it!! :) What happened with YMG?
While I was at work on Thursday, there was a drug raid on the house across the street from us. Gary and my other neighbor got to witness that.... hope his was a "nicer" excitement that that LOL
And you'll be proud of me, I paid my last 2 bills for the month. I could only pay $100 on my credit card, which *kills* me... but that is all I had left in the checkbook.... One day we'll get out of this hole, right??

Stef- I am so sorry to hear that you have to sell your house. :( I hope that the rental work out for you!!

Linda S- how fun!!! Did anyone gets pics or video of you dancing up there?? I want to see!
Good luck with the house/moving too. I can't imagine having to move- me may have no choice either at some point but I cannot even go there ATM.

I really wish that I had a magic wand that could make things easier for all of you. I really do.

12 years old and pregnant. hmmmm. guess who will be raising that baby? honestly, what are we coming to? or, i guess you could say that we're already there.

a gray day ahead, and cooler temps. i think laundry and the vacuum are calling my name. no plans for today except that. this seems like the kind of day when ironing gets done.boring!

have a great weekend, y'all.

phylis

so today, dance followed by getting the registration and plates for our car- then taking electronics and batteries to an earth day drop off, house cleaning, laundry and church- tomorrow- I will head back into work to get this weeks paperwork done and prepped for next week- only 3 work days before I get to have extended time off!

Morning ladies, hope you are all having a good weekend!! Well the big news for my Hubby is that after over a year of investigating two murders here in our City he finally got to make an arrest! It has taken many, many man hours and lots of members working undercover. The victims were two women one a 18yr and the other a 42yr old, both were brutally murdered. He is so happy to finally be able to help the families get some closure, but is worried about what they will learn about how they died. Things like this just don't happen here so it is a big relief to the community to have this killer in custody. They have known for quite some time who he was, but wanted to gather enough evidence to prove without any doubt whatsoever that he actually committed both of these murders. Through DNA and great police work they did just that and there won't be any chance that this guy gets let off on a technicality. This awful man is only 29yrs old and is married with a baby. You just never know do you?? Anyway it might not seem like a big deal to some, but for my DH it was a huge thing to be the arresting officer and a major player in catching this monster!!!

Chris - I am proud of you for finally getting your bills paid LOL now if I would just do the same!! I am bad for not putting enough on my credit card too, but heh you can only put so much towards the bills rights I mean a girls gotta eat!! I was thinking of you yesterday while I was out in the garden weeding, thinking boy it sure would be nice to have Chris here pulling out these Damn weeds with me, we could go sit on the deck afterwards and share a nice bottle of wine!! A drug raid!!! Must have been exciting to watch!! I am sure that there are many grow ops around us, you just never know what is going on at the neighbors do you?? And a twelve year old pregnant and keeping the baby??? Come on Man!!!!

Phylis - Your day sounds like mine :bored: My MG is going to be working all day and night again and I get to go grocery shopping...yippeee  all the laundry and ironing and vacuuming were done yesterday. Perhaps a walk is in order, at least the sun is shining again today.

Laurie - You have a busy day planned today !! The countdown is on for your time off, bet you can't wait!! Hope these last few work days go by quickly for you!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

Trudy!! WOW!!! what an amazing story about your MG catching that monster!! now if you lived here, my husband could prosecute and that would be the end of the guy forever. good grief. imagine how the WIFE of this thing feels!

Laurie, hope you have some great plans for the extended vay-cay!

i just looked at the weather forecast for next week. snow and rain on Monday!! EEEEEEK!! i was just getting ready to throw some seeds into the ground. i should know better by this time. NEVER plant anything here until mid May

Evening all...We had a long day with our book sale and then with the friend who wanted guidance on Ikea purchases. Fairly big ones for Ikea, a couch, chair, bedding...and he's not familiar with the Ikea method of looking for what you want and then the various stages to actually purchase it, and get it picked up! As he made his final decisions, he said we'd be done and at the Italian place for stromboli in 30 min. Uh, not quite so fast hon... I can't wait to show you the photos of the couch on top of his Volvo.. I prayed the entire way round the Beltway! but we made it.

I was bone tired and still kinda zoned from the energy work. It's not often it affects me so strongly but I felt a big clearing in my left leg and when I came home yesterday, I slept for three hours.

Hopefully we will have rain tonight. We so need it!

back soonest.

Chris, good for you being such activists. I was once like that but the years of government work kind if wore me down and 'issues' were not something I wanted to deal with in my out-of-the office hours. I wanted to protest the Iraq war but was sure my 'file' would get even larger.

Back before 97 ( cause that's when I left the Feds) I used to visit schools etc as part of my outreach for my boss. I recall one school where I comments on how big the 6th grade girls were..and I'm 5'7. The teacher agreed that they were huge, and chalked it up to the hormones in milk and the crappy fast food so many of them ate. She also mentioned how many pregnancies they had in middle school! A lot of these were children of children who'd had children so it wasn't a big thing at home. It was also a lot of ''You got your baby yet?" as a means of showing you were a woman. I laid down the law with my own daughter that if she ever got pregnant, there was no way in hell I was going to raise it. That put the fear of god into her enough to get her through her teens. That and dumb luck I know cause celibacy was not part of her vocabulary. :-(

btw, the JinShinJyutsu stuff can be done, sitting, laying down, slouched in a recliner…the body knows. If you have the patience, hold each spot for 5 minutes. In time you will learn to recognize when the pulses calm and synchronize. It will probably take more time than this since you all have to take so many meds.

Nausea? Palm the calves of the legs. i.e. put the palms of your hands on the outside of the calf. right on right left on left Also easy to do if you're lounging and have your knees bent.

Trudy, what a story! I bet your hubby is as pleased as punch to put that case to bed! A gold star from me and a big THANKS.

Stef and Linda S - Sorry moving is on your agenda. It's a hard thing to have to do but it appears the market is picking up, at least around here. At least houses are for sale again. Hopefully the mortgage companies will do their part too and get money flowing again.

Phylis, do you have two corks up your nose??? bwhahaha So perhaps the snow will cover the pollen. So so crazy.

Nana L, you and dh are such troopers. I'm so blessed that my daughter's child is being raised by a responsible couple. Dick and I went through agony when she got pregnant the last time because we were sure we weren't up for an infant. But God bless you and not only give you strength but sleep! I'm betting that by summer, you will see changed behavior and some calm times. My friend found that with her grandson…about 4 or 5 when they had him for a year.

Laurie, enjoy your weekend and take care of those tomatoes. We all want some!

Happy Saturday all!

Good morning ladies. I can't believe that it is a weekend and I am up at 4...ugh... Of course, it might be because I went to bed so early last night...

Chris, a 12 year old? Oh my goodness! That is just frightening! And a drug bust across the street...glad that you were able to unwind with some wine on Friday night.

Trudy, not a big deal to some...I think that it is a HUGE deal! Oh my goodness...how sad for his wife and baby. Thanks to your hubby for helping to make the world a safer place!

Phylis...NO snow!!! Sydney had a soccer game yesterday morning and the temp was 43 and it was damp! My poor old bones just ached by the time that was over. (But they won big...and she had about 10 goals again...so that helped. LOL )

Oh Laurie...you are really almost ready for vacation aren't you? When do you leave? And headed for Florida right (I know that it's to a beach so wherever will be wonderful!)

Maureen, I can't wait to see your photos of the couch on the car!!!! I think a great layout must be just around the corner.

Well, it seems that I am up for the day...so I think that I'll go make me some fresh coffee. Ugh...again!

Morning Linda- it's 6 here and I am ready for my second cuppa- we leave later this week- hope doggie likes his house sitters! Going to HHI and Charleston- MMG just switched our reservations to a hotel right in the heart of the old city so we can walk and walk and walk. I have a feeling we will return again next year. But the getting ready to go is the difficult part. Will be working on that today while work is empty but for me and the security guard that walks through- have to tell him I won't be there for a few weeks so he doesn't miss me . Plan to head in after I make us breakfast, and then get home to plant the strawberries I bought. Thought I was buying 2 plants, but really, I bought 20- we won't tell MMG that. Looks like we will be frost free while we are gone, if not, I will have house sitter cover them up. I don't anticipate they will all make it, we have lousy soil, even after I add compost, well, it will be what it is.

Hey everyone- I made it through 5 hours of paperwork- ughh- I have hired a dog sitter to let my dog out in the afternoons-and no snow, but cold weather here! I have to stay late to get stuff done, but this will make vaca all the more fun. So Linda any places in downtown Charleston we should see/eat at? Limited time there and I have already nixed the Market Street Saloon- a coyote ugly type place.

Sandra- good to have you pop back in- you are always welcome!
