Daily Ooos: April 2-3: Weekend Edition

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
It's the weekend! Are you ready? Who has good plans?

I have a new "plan" of sorts- I am going to try to get one small project done a day. yesterday, Gary and I emptied out the closet and threw out a few old boxes, a bunch of cold packs, and a lot of lunchboxes/coolers that no one uses. There was no sign of the tutu, the keys, or anything else that the house has taken. Today, I am going to dust and clean my bedroom and sort through a couple of dresser drawers. If I can do a little bit every day, maybe I won't feel so overwhelmed.
I redid the AJ page I was doing for the third time and got that posted. It was a relief to work on it and not throw the whole thing out again.
I am going to the FP this morning and will need to put on a warm coat, it's freezing still. I have to think ahead for what kinds of things Scottis going to need to bring to work, He got his schedule yesterday, 4 10-hours Sun-Wed. He is happy with it, it is better than the every other day schedule he had last year, but he is going to need to pack food if he is going to be out that long. (moms never stop wanting to feed their kids, mmhmm). Cait is at class today, she is excited-- it is Play Therapy in the MSW Program. Sounds like it should be fun

HAGD!!

@BrightEyes I loved the template for the challenge-- I need to try that one soon. Hope you and Chari have a good day together. Did you and DDs have a good visit yesterday?

@LSlycord Is it getting nerve-wracking to see how short your paper chain is getting? I have soooo many things coming up in the next 2-3 months that I think if I had a visual reminder of how fast time is going ATM, I would hyperventilate.
Congrats on getting the kids' taxes settled. Scott's friend is coming next Friday to help me with Cait's.
That is so exciting that your niece and family are coming to visit for Easter! Bet that Bo is a cutie!!

@Cherylndesigns I have this crazy image in my head of Lila and Daisy doing zoomies around the house and the puppies rolling around after them. I wonder if it matches anything like Ava's video. I will have to check it out. Hopefully, the puppies will grow out of their chew everything phase quickly. ( hahaha, as if!!)

@taxed4ever Sorry (not sorry ;) ) about the dentist appt getting canceled. I hope you don't have to wait too long to get it done but nice to have a reprieve LOL
Good luck looking at the condo today with the ILs.

@Lynn Grieveson please post some pics of the new puppy when you get some :) I am not going to try to wrap my head around who the puppy is related to you though :D
Still sending good luck vibes to you for the house selling quickly!

Good morning. I have been up scanning photos! You know what has happened now? I realize that the knowledge of who a lot of these people are is going to my grave with me if I don't get something done with these photos. That is a lot of pressure! LOL I got my DNA results back from Ancestry and now I'm down the rabbit hole for sure. I have two 1st-2nd cousins that I can't figure out. One is on my mom's side of the family. I KNOW everyone that would have been a first or second cousin, or a first cousin once-removed or anyone else that is alive and a descendant of my great-grandparents. This guy hasn't signed on in awhile. He was looking for anyone who knew Paul Carver (my great-uncle). I'm telling you, there is a story to be had there. And I will dig it out...one way or the other!

But, let's face it. I don't have the time to spend on this right now! I need to get ready for Europe. LOL I fear that I'm completely crazy!

@faerywings, my shortened paper chain almost makes me hyperventilate when I look at it. And I love Scott's schedule. I have always thought that I would love to have 4 consecutive 10 hour days.

Goals today: 1) Comment on at least 5 layouts in the gallery. 2) Find at least one Standing O! 3) Catch up on the Daily O's and come back and do personals. 4) Make a layout! LOL---lots to do! I'll be back because you ladies are goal 3!

Good Morning everyone! I was up super early, but feel like I got a good nights sleep! We have this one day of nice weather and then it looks like it will be rainy for two or three days. We should be outside power washing and working in the yard. But instead we will be looking at a Condo that the In-Laws probably won't like LOL. Oh well at least they are starting to get serious about downsizing and being somewhere closer to either us or SIL Linda. I managed to get my grocery order yesterday afternoon and then picked up a couple of things at my fav craft store. I did not spend too much, so that is good! I will do some catching up here and then will hopefully have some time to do a page tomorrow for one of the challenges. I have a feeling that our day will be spent with the in-laws and we will probably all go out for lunch somewhere. Mason was txting me this morning, he is very excited to be getting his new Drum set today, not sure where they are going to put it in their small house, but I know he will love it!

@faerywings - Chris sounds like you have a great action plan for your spring cleaning! Wouldn't it be crazy if you finally found that Tutu and those keys!! They have to be somewhere, right?! Hope you get what you need at the FP today, sorry that it is still so chilly though! Scott must be happy to have the hours that he got, thats long days, but at least it is more steady!

@LSlycord - Wow Linda how fascinating to find a cousin that you know nothing about! Yup getting on Ancestry is like going down a rabbit hole, my relatives have spent countless hours digging up stories and finding so much about our family! I am glad it was them and not me LOL. You are right though, you don't have time for all that right now. Don't put the stress on yourself when you have so much else to do before your trip to Europe! I know you will have such a fabulous time when you go! I am very jealous!! It sounds like you will have a very busy Saturday here at the O! Enjoy!!

Ok I have to get some brunch for DH and myself I think perhaps a nice Omelette will be on the menu! Have a great Saturday everyone!

My plan for the weekend is to sort & organize all my digiscrapping stuff on the puter. Have been sitting for hours today. Not sure how long it will take. What a mess I've made! LOL

Good evening. I've been out and about with the girls all day. They had a sidewalk sale/band/drinking/food/ fun - need I go on? Today - it was great fun and SO beautiful - about 70 degrees, but really nice - we all got hot. I bought a cute purse - just for "out and about" I need to take my phone, my glasses, credit card, etc. I've been looking for one and found one today. I went to the Herb store and bought some herbs that I'd been wanting. I also bought a cool beaded bracelet that attached magnetically - LOVE that. Also - a Rip (from Yellowstone) scented car freshener. He's way too cool for the car, so he's sitting on my desk looking at me. BWAHAHA

Chris @faerywings that's exactly what Daisy and Lila do - Zoomies - we had all 4 of them out in the yard yesterday and it was a riot. Ava calls it "Cici's Animal House". Even the cat goes out and lays where the crazy dogs can't get to him. She sent me a picture of the puppies in the pack n play - I'll post it later (when I transfer it from my phone to my computer.)

Waving hello to everybody and sending hugs.

@faerywings what a lot to be proud of for Cait! Can't wait to see the page of those cords! Love the new process that you and Gary are using to figure out your spring cleaning.

@taxed4ever I am so excited about Europe. Love that Mason is getting a drum set. Awesome parents that will open their home to that noise. LOL Hope that your inlaws like the condo. And glad to hear that the dentist delayed the appointment for the wisdom tooth. I still have all 4 of mine. It seemed great that I didn't have to have them removed when I was younger. Now that I'm older, I am hoping that I don't need to have any removed.

@tanteva I realized today that I have created a mess of my digiscrapping supplies as well. And of my photos. I really need to organize! But that could take hours/days/weeks!

@Cherylndesigns love the RIP air freshener on your desk! Glad the weather is actually improving for you!

@BrightEyes I can't wait to use that template for your challenge! And know that you must just be having the greatest time with two of your girls with you!

@Lynn Grieveson I used your templates today...haven't used templates at all in recent days but I guarantee I'll be using them now! Wow did it make me feel ever so much better about my scrapping today. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And hoping that your house sells soon and surprises you!

hey there O-zies!!
You ever have a day when you throw your hands in the air and say enough? (Of course, you have- you wouldn't be human if you didn't) That was me yesterday and so far today. I started to get a bad anxiety attack yesterday morning and it left me exhausted. The past few days, I could tell it was coming on, my lips get tingly and it feels like my POTS Symptoms come back. I would do some breathing or distract myself in some way but yesterday it happened when I was driving. Not a great idea to distract myself at that point so I tried to do some breathing which helped a tiny bit. Very tiny.
I am not feeling much better this morning. Between my personal anxieties and the world all around, it's not an easy time to "feel" stuff. One good thing is that I have a bunch of things to work on around the house that will keep me busy. Today's mini-project is to tidy my desk and do some filing. I really want to get out in the yard but it is cold and rainy again. pfffffft.

My exciting day yesterday- FP (booo, no donuts!) and cleaning my BR and bathroom which went fine. The biggest struggle was trying to get Squirrel back into her cage. I took the three little rats out to play while Caitlyn was at school. After letting them run around on her bed, it was time to put them back in their cage except that Squirrel, who knows how to get off of the bed, was bring a total brat. She was hiding from me, running underneath the heating vent, under the cage where I can't reach her, under the dresser- usually, I can bribe her out with treats but she wanted none of it. Cait is texting me suggestions (all of which I had tried and hadn't worked), I am moving all of her furniture (terrified that I am going to step on this tiny rat by accident) and shaking the containers of different treats (that meant I had to keep giving treats to the other three rats who kept looking at me expectantly). After a half-hour, maybe longer, Gary must have heard me yelling at her and he came in to help. She ran up to the top of the cage, and he was able to get behind it and grab her. I wouldn't have been able to reach her. I felt like I had run a marathon! It is a good darn thing that she is cute.

Wishing all of you a wonderful day!!

BTW- Cait loves the class she is currently taking (Play Therapy) and found out that to become a licensed Play Therapist you need to go through more schooling, another two years. She isn't sure if that is what she will do but if so, it's a good thing she likes education. ;)

@LSlycord That has to be a heavy feeling, about the photos and the knowledge of the family history. But how cool is it to know that you can scan the photos and save that information? I hope you are able to track down the cousin you are looking for.

@taxed4ever How did the condo visit go with your ILs? What did they think? Do you think that they are going to find fault with a lot of places or will they eventually come around?
Mason is going to have a blast on the drums. We had a small kit for Scott when he was Mason's age and then he got a regular-sized one when he was in HS. Butting in to suggest that he starts wearing earplugs now- better to get him used to it so it won't be such a big deal later when he has more pressure to be cool (or whatever the kids say these days!) Gary lost a lot of his hearing when he was in bands and always made Scott practice with them. Even now when Scott goes to concerts and festivals, he always brings them. Heather is going to need a pair too! I know I did even if for different reasons LOL!!!
I wish I had a photo of Cait in her tutu, it is too big to lose! Black velvet leotard with a big poofy tulle tutu attached to it. I don't get it-- where could it be??

@tanteva How is the organizing going? And are you finally feeling healthy again?

@Cherylndesigns You had a great day with the girls! I am jealous-- of the festivities and the weather. The purse sounds adorable! I am practically bouncing in my chair to see the puppy pack and play pic!

@LSlycord I am so proud of Caitlyn too. She finished up another paper- 20 pages and it is 80% of her grade. No pressure.
Both of my kids worked hard. We watched the Blacklist last night and it had a bit about Munchausen's by Proxy- which reminded me of when a dr that Scott was seeing accused me of that when he was so darn sick and Caitlyn too. They have really come so far. *full heart* That also reminds me that Gary is *finally* ready to make an appt with his LLMD. I get that he needed to take a break but watching him decline again is not easy.

(There I go "feeling" things again, good/bad/ugly ugh! :/ )

But now I get to celebrate with Linda!!! Woo hoo!! Congrats on hitting all of your goals!!!!

LOL @faerywings celebrating my goals with me! Love that happy dance duck! Your kids have been rockstars! I remember how very sick Scott was especially. I hope that you feel better today. The world is a frightening and crazy place these days for all of us so it makes any anxiety at all so much worse. It overwhelms me at times to think of my kids being adults in this kind of a world. ((hugs))

We are having company tonight. A friend...I met her as an 11 year old girl when she and my oldest niece played basketball together and now she is 31...is cruising with her son over spring break. She lives in Atlanta now and will be driving down to Port Canaveral. Well, as it happens, we are on the way. So they are going to stop to see us overnight. They came and spent a few days with us during Covid so I'm anxious to have them with us overnight. Tia is vegan which makes cooking more challenging. But they won't be here for a meal so I don't need to figure out a vegan friendly menu. LOL

Goals today---because I did so well with the ones from yesterday. Get 3 more pots planted with flowers...then I will only have 11 left. Get transportation sorted between Amsterdam and Paris and Paris and London. Continue work on the itinerary. Better go hit the gallery for a few comments and then get cleaned up to go look at flowers.

Real quick in and out this morning. Both DDs are still asleep so I am popping in to check on the template challenge. Thanks for the lovely comments on the template... it was fun to create. It has been so delightful to have DD#1 here while DD#3 is also here. Stayed up too late talking but it was worth it to spend time with them. DD#3's son came over and brought her 2 yr old grandson yesterday afternoon. He is precious but didn't like being at a strange place with others he didn't know. Took awhile for him get comfortable enough to play around with me... or any of the others. DD#1 and hubby leave this evening so us gals will be getting in our last visiting with her. DD#3 is hoping to be able to work tomorrow... will have to see how she does sitting up with her leg propped up. Then Tuesday is another doctor's appt... hoping they switch her into a walking boot - although she is not to walk or weight-bearing for a few more weeks.

I hear one of the girls stirring so signing off. Should be back to posting normally later on this week. CYL

Gee ... organizing & sorting ... I don't have that skill!

200.gif

Made a weird dinner today, but it was really nice actually. Took tortilla bread, spread it with left over pasta sauce (made of cream and garlic cheese). Topped with cheese, leftover baby corn & fried mushroom, grated cheese, some left over bell pepper and spring onion + olives. Turned out to a quite desent pizza.

Got my new kitchen machine yesterday, but it's still in the box ... cuz brain is over loaded with sorting & organizing files on the puter.

Now ... I need some knitting and silly TV. Not news! No more news today ... cannot take anything more! I need cuddly animals, true love and pink fluff streaming out of my telly from now on.

Good Morning everyone! It is a very wet and gloomy looking day out there today! I guess a good day to get the house cleaned and start working on some scrapping!! @BrightEyes I am hoping to get your template challenge done today! Wish me luck! Well the viewing of the condo turned out to be a weird sort of surprise. For some insane reason, FIL thought that he should look at it to buy and then rent it out to someone else :eek::rolleyes:o_O. Really??? At almost 90 years of age you think you should become a LANDLORD!!!!! (sorry for yelling). It took some doing but we convinced him it was a crazy idea, for heavens sake he won't even be able to drive anymore soon, who the hell is going to take care of the place?? They would still be living in their house and we would still be in the same predicament with them, having to drive 45 mins to take them to appointments etc. OMG I really think its time to have them both assessed for a care home!! Now that my rant is over, we did go for a very nice lunch with them both and SIL Linda and her boyfriend Mark. Talked and talked about this and that and MIL said that there was no way she was moving to a Condo, they are better off just keeping put. She thinks if she just ignores the fact that they are going to be up the creek without a paddle when FIL can no longer see anything then everything will just go away and be fine. (throwing our hands up in the air!!). I give up!!!!
SIL Linda called last night after supper and had a long talk with DH. She thinks that FIL/MIL needs to make my Gary Power of Attorney so they don't go crazy and buy something without us knowing about it. What a fun day it was!! NOT!! On a happier note Mason and Hunter sent me a video of Mason playing his new drum set and Hunter was the singer with his flashing microphone, too cute!

@faerywings - So yes I had one of those days yesterday where we all threw our hands up in the air and said ENOUGH!! Sorry that you had such an anxious day yesterday and that there were no donuts for you at the FP!! Glad that your Gary was able to capture the illusive runaway Squirrel!! How great that Cait loves her current course that she is taking! You must be such a proud Mama to see her doing so well! Thanks for the tip about the ear protection! I will certainly let Heather know that he should be wearing some as well as everyone else!

@LSlycord - I am so happy for you that you are getting everything that you need to get done accomplished! So fun to be able to have a visit with your good friend also! I bet you are up til all hours of the night catching up with her! Have fun!

@Cherylndesigns - What fun day you had!! Certainly a much better one than I had!! Love that you and the girls get to do so many fun things together!

@BrightEyes - Well your days are certainly full and sounds like you are having such a good time with your DD's hope that DD#3 will be able to get some work done tomorrow! Hopefully she is not too uncomfortable keeping her leg propped up for that long of a period.

@tanteva - Sounds like you got very inventive with your pizza making, it does sound yummy! OMG I could not just leave a package untouched! That bad boy would be out of the box and sitting on my counter and making something with it right away LOL.

Ok I am off to the shower and then a second cup of coffee before making some brunch for DH and myself. Have a good Sunday everyone!

Good afternoon my lovely OOOOO's.

Chris @faerywings I'm sorry you're fighting an anxiety attack! I have those occasionally, so I know what they're like - especially the tingling lips. My face starts going numb, when one is coming on. I can just see you chasing Squirrel. Hahaha Little stinker - she knows how to tease you. LOVE your ducky picture. Maybe this puppies in pack n play picture will cheer you up. It's not a great pic, but I lightened it up as much as I could. You have to see Adrienne's big cat - he lays up on the couch and "guards them" when they're there. He's such an oddball, that this is SO out of character for him.

puppies-in-packnplay.jpg

Ok I'm back - just wanted to give Chris @faerywings her "puppy fix". LOL

Kay @BrightEyes sounds like you're having a lovely time with the family and a 2 yo - wow, they're busy. Glad things are going well and I'm going to go check out your template.

Trudy @taxed4ever what a day you had! Wow, FIL wants to rent????? He surely didn't know what he was thinking. Maybe he was just having a "moment" - forgetting his age. Maybe getting a POA wouldn't be a bad idea. I can see why you threw your hands up! That would just be more work for you

Eva @tanteva hope your organizing is going well. I never seem to get mine done.

Linda @LSlycord sounds like you're going to have a busy couple of days. Glad you don't have to cook vegan.

Yes, Trudy @taxed4ever and Chris @faerywings we had a lovely day yesterday. It was a beautiful day and lots of people turned out for it. It was going to go on until late last night - they even had a live band. I was thrilled to find a smaller purse and Linda @LSlycord "Rip" looks great on my desk. LOL

We have a super big festival coming up - The Red Fern Festival. It's near the end of the month and Ava and her bf have a booth reserved. He makes all kinds of things out of stones and gemstones and she makes necklaces out of some of the gemstones they find. (The 1974 movie "Where The Red Fern Grows" was filmed here.) I never saw it because I can't watch movies about dogs. I think there's a remake of the original - not sure about that.

Chris @faerywings Ava's bf is a flintknapper - I'll bet Scott knows what that is.

Better get busy. I finished a LO for the Anna Color Challenge and want to check out Kay's template.

@faerywings this one is for you!
9 minutes (8 if you skip the commercial at the end)
You should listen to it daily until you get it! ♡

I'm sure you all could benefit from it. It was so good.
