I made it! I somehow survived yesterday in all of my glory of major mood swings. And hoo boy, I felt like I was on the Pirate Ship carnival ride, like this one:
th

I don't even know what I did other than the trip up to the vet. But my goodness, that vet is such a good person and doctor. Cait brought Dilly in, he looked her over and said that he would be very careful but that the surgery should be fine. Said he was going to do her right then and to wait in the car so we could bring her home. 40 minutes later, we were on our way with a very groggy rattie. She is doing great. It was a mammary tumor- benign- and easy to remove. She was scarfing down treats in her cage on the ride home. I was relieved that we didn't have to wait all day to get the all-clear from the vet.

I was able to reprint some of the tax forms and mine and Gary's are filed. When Scott gets home from work (!!!YAY!!!) this afternoon, I will have him sign and mail his. Today is his official first day on the job and he is amazed that he is getting paid to drive to different parks in the area to make sure that there aren't any issues and that is it. Collect permits, answer visitor questions, and maintain a County presence. His "home base" park is a 3-minute drive from our house, he picks up a work truck, drives around the county, and then drops the truck off at the end of the shift. He is just so happy to have a job.

Not much happening here, it is still quite chilly outside so I won't be doing yard work. I can wait. Laundry is big on my list. Woo hoo. :D

Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend!

@taxed4ever Your b-day week sounds like it was amazing, you deserve all of it. Congrats on getting the Machine and have a blast learning about all of the things you can do. I can't wait to see what projects you are working on with it.
That Mason is the cutest! He and Hunter must be non-stop love for you. Sleeveless tops and shorts??? Ya killing me!! It was 50 yesterday and maybe a *little* warmer today. Have fun with the new plants. Thanks for the hugs and sunshine. I needed them.

@Cherylndesigns Yup, that is what I woke up to-- the news from Indianapolis. It's heartbreaking that you can't even keep track of them.
Hehe, truth! Good thing that the dogs are so cute. But I do wish that we could somehow get into their heads a bit, we think the same with my old girl, that she was kept locked up a lot which made her hate the crate.
Your Crazy Wall page was hysterical! I loved the suspects :p
Hope that your dinner was fin (of course it was!) and am thrilled to hear SIL is feeling better.

@nancyr You must be beaming nonstop for your DS. Congrats again! I like what Trudy said-- Instant Grandma!!
Oh my, how funny that Luther was looking for your DH. So cute.
Looking forward to some warmer weather ahead. Have fun with hockey this weekend.

Cheryl- Gary and I started to watch Mad Men a few years ago and I couldn't do it. It was not entertaining, it was infuriating. I couldn't put myself "past" it, just got me worked up. LOL Ava's BF must be a good sport to hand with everyone for dinner. Hope that he is a good guy to her. Caitlyn says that Tom is looking forward to meeting all of us but is nervous too. Should be fine, if he keeps the goofy smile on Cait's face.

Hugs to you all!

Morning all. Brrrr... a backdoor cold front moved in overnight and temps are down in the 30's. Suppose to stay cold until Monday. Feels more like Feb than April! Think I will wait until Monday to pick up the groceries I need when Sis and Niece are visiting. Will do a bit of cleaning since I will be staying indoors this weekend.

Spent a few hours yesterday scanning photos and letters into the computer. I have had Mother's and Daddy's 50th Anniversary Album of Memories since Mom passed away in 2014, It is full of photos and stories/memories from family and friends. I put it together in 1987 and asked that everyone send a letter of memories they shared with my parents and any photos they wished to be included in the album. I told my Sister that she could have the Album when she comes over this coming week. I have had it for years so it is only right that she gets it now. There are many photos in it that I didn't have scanned in yet so I spent time getting that done before she arrives. I also scanned in several of the letters from from family members - their brothers and sisters, children, grand-children. I laughed ... and cried a little ... as I read them all. It really brought back so many memories of my parents and growing up in our home town. And the memories of that wonderful weekend celebrating their 50th Anniversary with over a 100 family and friends.

Chris, so sorry you have been on a roller-coaster ride of feelings lately. Wow, the vet was so good to do the surgery on the rat right then so you could take her home immediately. Glad that Scott is liking his new job... sounds like it was made for him. Hope that you get to meet Cait's boyfriend soon. He sounds like a keeper.

Cheryl, that Ava is a go-getter... so nice of her to get the pots hung - bet they look great. Neat that her boy friend fits right into the family. Hope the weather clears up soon so you can get the shutters finished and hung.

Nancy, I could hear the smiles you must be having... congrats to your son and his new fiancée. I was LOL over Luther looking for you DH when he heard his voice.

Best close this out and get busy cleaning. Hope to get some scrapping done this weekend. I am way behind on doing some of the challenges here.

Good morning ladies. Its been a good wk with Remi. No problems. She had her first bath yesterday after her first long car ride into Vancouver (I picked up a larger crate as she is now getting longer and outgrew the other one) but got sick on the ride there and back. But she was fine once we got home. She was nervous but checked out a few dogs as they walked by us. I really need to start working on socializing to the neighborhood. She gets her last shot at the end of the month and then we can go anywhere safely. Today we'll go to the park, I'll sit in a foldup chair, with coffee and will read my book while the dogs are on long leashes tied to the tree. That way Remi can get used to kids yelling, bikes, people and dogs passing by.

I'm getting used to not scrapping so much and don't mind it. I'm really enjoying hanging out with the dogs, working with Remi and having lots of playtime.

@faerywings glad Tilly is doing well. I wish you were here to work in my garden, I need to clean it up a bit but keep putting it off. I am not a gardener and don't enjoy it. Mind you, by the end of the summer I'm not sure how much of my garden will be left LOL. Remi rips all the bushes apart. She went to rip up my yellow tulips (I have 3 or 4 that come up each spring in the middle of the garden) and I yelled to "leave it" and then ran for the camera so I could get a few photos before they either wilt or get ripped out.

@BrightEyes I need to scan some of my mom's photos. I just use my phone b/c I'm not going to pay for a new scanner and my canon is a PITA to use. But I'll be happy to scrap some of them hopefully this summer. They are candids, not great photos but it's the memories of them that will be wonderful.

I'm getting another coffee and going to do some CT work while the dogs are sleeping. Have a great wkend everyone!

Hello girls!
I had my project done at Friday and I'm so excited to share it as I know you'll gonna love it!
But then I read Chris post about the tragic happenings in US, and the funeral of Prince Philip today, world is a very sad place! And it's not appropriate to be cheerful! Will wait till the some of next days. Hope they will be better!

Chris, on a first place congrats for Scott's first working day! So he will work even during the weekends or is on schedule? Healing thoughts and wishes for fast recovery for Healing thoughts and wishes for fast recovery for Cordelia!
And then smart that you add pic as I'm not much familiar with the english names, and on my mind come helter skelter and the Beatles song! But it would work too, lol. I completely understand you, it's a time to be quiet and sad! But hey, only for the weekend!

Kay, it's a lovely that you'll have family meeting! Wishing you lots of fun!

Rae, just awesome that things finally are go in good direction! I don't know what your religion is (it's not my business at all), but you have to do some cleansing energy ritual that is appropriate for it! So many troubles you go through, as if there is spell on your family.

Trudy, I'm so curious to see all your silhouette machine projects!!! You are so creative! And I'm not much familiar what is silhouette machine used for, so it's very intrigued!

Cheryln, I'm so happy for Ava, and the young enamored! It's really hard in these days, when even talking with strangers become dangerous because of the Covid. Wish her good luck!
Your Crazy Wall page is so funny and pretty!

Happy Saturday night!!

I spent 3+ hours in the hair salon today. I'd forgotten how long it takes, but..................how wonderful it feels to have my hair done. it's been over 3 years!! I'll have pictures as soon as Adrienne sends them to me. My hair is SO long!! The hairdresser cut over 2 inches off the length but it's still half way down my back. She darkened it up just a tiny bit and put low lights in it. When my hairdresser (in Florida) decided to move back to Ohio, I declared that I was just going to let it grow and be an old lady with super long hair. ROTF - I'm getting close. Thus, the 3 years since I've been to a salon.

Last night went REALLY well with the "new guy" Ryan. He's not a wimp if he can take on this loud family. He seemed to fit right in and we're anxious to get to know him better. He made a good impression on everybody and best of all, Braden really likes him!

Miss Ava flew out to Nashville this AM to pick up her new truck. Don't ask - we don't understand why she had to go pick up a truck, but with Ava, we just roll with it. She's driving home right now and she loves her new white truck. My ferns look amazing and I must add pictures. She also changed the furnace filter and re-arranged my scraproom furniture yesterday (I don't remember if I told you that). I have been on the fence about where I had my desk and I mentioned it to her yesterday and she said "let's do it right now". Have I mentioned that I adore that girl?????

Glad you all enjoyed my Crazy Wall. I had so much fun creating it and naming all of my "suspects". LOL

I'll catch up with you all later. I just ate for the first time today and I was getting hangry.

Hugs,

Good morning (or whatever time it is by you my night owl friend Cheryl!) I am tired, still not sleeping well but I am feeling better than I did the last couple of days. We had a fun dinner/conversation last night- all four of us. It had been a long time since we have all been together at dinner. A while back, the kids wanted to do just appetizers for dinner so we did that, mozz sticks, poppers, potato skins, and I made homemade pretzels and deviled eggs. We made drinks and toasted Scott's new job. His job is - well-- it is... something that he is overqualified for but is making good money to do something pretty easy. He has always worked really hard no matter where he was but this is kind of cushy, at least now while the parks are quiet. He said that yesterday's biggest issue was trying *not* to press the buttons on the console of the work car. Turns out it isn't a truck but a repurposed unmarked police car so he thinks the buttons were originally for sirens/lights and he wants to find out!! LOL! :p

Cordelia is doing good, Livvie was in the medical cage with her overnight for company. Such a relief. I am also starting to add things to my "social" (hahaha-- me, social!) calendar. I have tentative plans to go down to my parents later this week and I can't wait! My niece is grating from Grad school in May and my BFF is having an outdoor/open house get-together and I am going to go to that. That puts pressure on me to get my hair cut and colored beforehand. Things are starting to happen. :D

Not much going on today, it looks like it will be the nicest weather day for a while. Sunny and around 60. It is going to get warmer the next day or so but I think it is supposed to rain. I might try to get outside for a bit.

What good things do you have going on today? Anything fun?

xoxo

Kay- same cold weather here the last few days too. I was wearing tons of layers the last couple of days and couldn't get warm. You must be so excited to see your sister and niece. How long are they staying? What a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do with the album. It has to be very bittersweet for you to read the letters again. Your parents must have set a good standard for marriage- you and Bill seem to have had the same. That is so special.

@bcgal00 Woooo hoo! Fantastic news about Remi and you all must be so relieved and happy about it. I saw the page of the Three Muskateers together on FB- such cuties!! My oldest dog used to get sick in the car too, we would have to give her Dramamine. This is the same dog that couldn't be left alone with the sofa so a lot of the time, it was easier to bring her with us if we went somewhere but only if it was less than a 15-minute drive. My goodness, I love that dog and I miss her (and all of her issues) so much. W broke the top of my lavender plant off the other day with her lead. What can ya do, right? Dogs! I wish I could come and work in your garden too and then play with the dogs when I was done.

Hi @felis -- I want to know what you are working on, tell us!! Please! :D His schedule is "every other day"which is going to make it tough to plan for things. But he is covering a shift for the other "up-county" Ranger, figuring that if he covers for him, he will be more willing to cover for Scott if he needs. Helter Skelter would have also been an appropriate description for my moods minus the Charles Manson part.
I know that I tend to write the same as I talk with lots of odd phrasing, so if I ever say something that doesn't m, make sense or won't translate, let me know so I can explain it better.

@Cherylndesigns how exciting to get the full hair cut and color treatment! I can't wait to see the photos! I like to get highlights and lowlights, which makes it easier when it grows in since I go so long between appts. Not because I have so much grey coming in, not that!
That is awesome that Ryan fit in with the family so well. Having Braden like him has to be a very good sign. :) Although from what I know about Ava, she isn't going to date someone that doesn't treat her well-- or can't keep up with her. Safe trip home to her.

Hugs!

Morning ladies! I am up early for a Sunday morning and DH is still happily sleeping in for a change. It was a busy Saturday for us yesterday,(what else is new??). We spent a lot of time at the Nursery wandering around looking for plants and spent way too much $'s but hey the pots are going to look amazing hopefully. We did find a bush to replace the one that died over the winter and we choose a King Edwards Flowering Currant bush. It blooms for quite a while in the spring and it will add a splash of red colour to the backyard. We got all of the pots planted and put out on the porch and the upper front deck. We decided not to any pots on the back deck, because we never sit out there anymore :(. No fun to be out there with our bad neighbours behind us looking over at us. Wish we could find a nice looking sound proof privacy screen to put out there, but ya that doesn't exist . The view is much better out the front of the house anyway and we love to watch the kids play out there. The sound of children's laughter is so great! Today is a bit of cleaning and laundry and then we are going to tackle the Pampus grass, it needs to be cut back and the leaves are like razors so it will be long sleeves and long pants during that job. It sure has been warm here it got up to 25C which is77 degrees F. Not sure how long this warm spell will last, but we sure are enjoying it! I have started to get the hang of my silhouette machine and still have lots to learn, but having fun with it! I made an iris shutter, that I can use on a card or scrapbook page and I am working on a blooming rose and have it halfway done. The software is much like using photoshop, so I am catching on quickly. I will post some photos when I have completed the rose. So many other things that I can do with the machine, like putting things on t-shirts and mugs, making my own stamps, making signs etc. It will be fun to do the t-shirts for my grands!! Hunter has already told me he wants Bowser from Super Mario on a t-shirt LOL.

@faerywings - How wonderful that Scott is working and has such a cushy job! He probably would like to be more active, but hey I guess he is happy just to be working again!! I think it would drive me crazy to not push all those buttons on the work car LOL. Glad to hear that you are feeling better this morning! Nice to have the dinner conversations with the kids, it must be so nice to be all together! That is so great that you will be going to see your parents soon and that you will be able to get your hair cut and coloured again! Life is starting to get back to semi normal for you and that is wonderful! Happy that the rats are all doing well too! Hope you are able to get outside for a bit today, it sure clears the cobwebs out!!

@BrightEyes - Kay you are so nice to pass that book along to your sister! She will love to see it I am sure and it will be so good to talk over all the memories of your parents! They sound like they were a very special couple! Hope you can get all that scanning done, that way you will still have all of those great memories to look at once in awhile! I also have lots of the challenges to get done yet, but having way too much fun with my new Silhouette Machine.

@felis - Yes it has been a very sad time for the world lately, but then there is always some bad things going on somewhere in the world isn't there! I can't wait to see what you have been working on, so don't keep us waiting for too long ;)! I will show you all what I have been doing with my cutting machine in a day or so, there are so many great things that I can make with it!

@bcgal00 - How wonderful to hear that your sweet little Remi is doing so well! That is too bad that she got sick on the car ride though, hope that doesn't happen all the time! It will be great for you to be able to get to the park and sit and read while the dogs play! The weather sure is perfect for that right now!

@Cherylndesigns - Ha Ha I had to laugh about the new boyfriend, we always said the same about anyone who was knew to our family, especially my DH's side as they are VERY LOUD!! You have to be a brave soul to meet that side of the family LOL. That Ava sure is a go getter! Nice that she helped you out with your craft room furniture arrangement! Hope she enjoys her new truck and has a safe journey home!

Well its time grab another cup of coffee and get going with my day! Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning, ladies. Looking forward to getting outdoors with the dogs later for a walk around another park. I was exhausted after 3 hrs at the park and river yesterday but the dogs had so much fun. It’s so much harder to keep track of 2 dogs on leashes than it is 1. I ordered a no pull leash for Remi. Bella does well on her’s and doesn’t pull half as much now as she was. I’ve learned so much from being on a dog trainer forum.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. I’m going to go read, do some CT work and then get outdoors with the dogs.

Hello all. Happy Sunday. Trudy @taxed4ever you hit the nail on the head with the new boyfriend meeting all of us! Actually, we were on good behavior - we didn't unleash the full "craziness" yet. We're give him another time or two.

Ava got home about 1 am with her new, beautiful truck! She flew into Nashville yesterday, grabbed the truck and drive straight back home! She texted me when she got home (1 AM) because she knew I'd still be up (Chris @faerywings ) - I was glad to hear from her.

She was here this morning before 10 to finish up the shutters. We got all of them hung but 3 windows - one is in the back the the other two are small, higher windows. She has to make them a special size. They look SO nice!! What else did she do? She cleaned up all of the wood pieces from the construction and power washed our back deck, arranged the lounge chairs and put a little table in between them with an outdoor artificial plant on it. When she left, she was going to meet Ryan (new bf) and her brother and they were going fishing on the lake. Whew!

Trudy @taxed4ever how sad that you have unpleasant neighbors! I never knew that. That is the worst thing! I've certainly had some bad ones over the years. Why can't people just be nice? At least, we don't have to worry about that anymore.

Chris @faerywings congrats to Scott on the new job, even if he's overqualified. Sounds like you all had a lovely family dinner last night.

I DID go to the beauty salon yesterday! First time in over 3 years. My hair is super long - I've been trimming and coloring it myself all this time. The hairdresser cut 2" off and it's still long. Felt so good. She blew it out straight just for the heck of it. Here's some pics on IG. Cheryl (@cherylndesigns) • Instagram photos and videos

I had a big day yesterday!

Hugs and waving to all

good evening - well a wonderful weekend. Thanks for all the thoughts. I love being an "Instant grandma". Busy with the newly engaged. They dropped by on Fri. night to let my DH see the ring and congratulate Jackie and welcome her to the family. Then we decided to go out to dinner on Sat. night and really celebrate. I was in the mood for a good steak so we went to a semi fancy steak place. OMgosh it was so good. I even had a margarita. My son ordered an old fashion and wow could I taste the bitters. Not a drink I will ever order. We were there for along time but so fun. They really like each other. And boy can they eat. They did not have left overs from their steaks and they were not small steaks. But I like that it does not go to waste. On Sat we walked Luther early and got him a refill on his allergy medicine and then picked up my bike. It looks so good! Had lunch and then I went bike riding. I was cloudy and cold at least cold for me. But I rode for about 20 min. I am taking it slow. Today I woke and I know I rode my bike as my shoulders are sore but I went again. So this time I timed it and checked the distance. So I rode 4 miles and took me 30 min. I am so happy. I love riding my bike. I am just doing a loop around my local neighborhood where there are few cars. Today was nice and I did not need a coat. But I would feel bad if Luther did not get an afternoon walk so we went. He was fast and only went for a short walk but I kept going. My DH went to do an errand and brought back donuts. I needed to walk. LOL My Devils lost 4 straight to the Rangers. But I am not discouraged as these players are in the early to mid-twenties. Having fun watching lots of hockey. I have gone through 2016 and starting 2017 and it is so good to be deleting so many unneeded photos. I have lots of hockey photos and it is amazing the amount of turnover.

@faerywings @Cherylndesigns Chris and Cheryl - I did not watch MadMen because of what men did get away with and it makes me angry and sad because women still have aways to go. I think that is why I loved watching Call the Midwife because they were so respected for so long.

@faerywings Chris glad that Dilly did so well. You have a great vet! Love the news about Scott. His job sounds awesome. Driving around and checking out parks in your area. So cool! I love apps for dinner. Yummy!

@BrightEyes Kay were like you are way below average in temps. It is not fun. For me the overriding thing is no rain. Wow have fun with sis and niece. I am sure will love having her turn with the album. That sounds like quite an accomplishment your putting that album together. Have a wonderful time!

@taxed4ever Trudy you yard sounds so pretty. Hey the Boston Bruins are starting to look like the good team they are. Enjoy the evening on your front stoop listening to kids. Laughter is the best.

@bcgal00 Rae I saw the photo of all the dogs. So cute! I bet you were tired. Those little puppies have so much energy. It is just so wonderful to know that Remi is doing so well.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl I want an Ava in my life. How old is she? I don't know where she gets all that energy but I want some. LOL I have energy just not for DYI projects. But you are really lucky to have her! I guess I never thought Nashville was that near OK. I mean I know where the states are but not the cities so when you said she was flying I did not think she could make it back that fast. Your pizza night with the new BF must be wild. Glad he is sticking with her because she seems amazing.

@felis felis please tell us the happiness with your project! We need good news.

Waving to all!
