hello hellloooooO!
I feel like I should be typing softly, everyone in my house is still fast asleep. I wish I was too but you know it is. My sleep cycle stinks and last night was just a mess. You would think that being active and outside I would sleep better but no. :(
It was cool in the morning but decent in the afternoon and I was able to work on another area of the yard, uncovering the plants of the dead leaves. But the poison ivy is *awful* - If I am not covered with blisters by the end of today I am going to be shocked. The runners are everywhere. I tried to carefully clip them where they entered the yard but it isn't going to make a difference. Too many vines.

I am glad that I got out there yesterday as it is not going to be all that nice until next Friday. Scott and I made empanadas for dinner, he made the filling - chicken and vodka sauce and I filled and fried them. We rarely ever cook together so it was a nice switch. The kids were joking about Easter 2020 at dinner. I think we were just into lockdown at that point and the two of them set up an Easter Egg hunt while I was in bed and Gary had fallen asleep on the couch. They filled plastic eggs with junk but as they were hiding them, Gary woke up and they had to hide from him. even though lockdown sucked we did find some weird ways of having fun. :)

I am off to the FP this morning by myself again. Cait and Scott are off to a Pirate-Themed Easter Egg Hunt this morning and then to a baby shower in the afternoon (not Pirate-Themed LOL). It looks like it is going to rain much of the day so my plans are to do some scrapping.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day/weekend and Happy Easter!

@tanteva How did your dinner experiment turn out? Did you end up with bread/beans or did you need to resort to the candy? Or both?? My bet is on both. ;)
Yay for the sun!! And for silly kitties...

@Cherylndesigns That is so good to hear that there are others who can look at a tree and see history and geography in it. Ryan sounds like a nice guy. I had an optometrist who had that cool machine (I have some thinning in my retina that needs to be watched) and she was like a little kid (Eva) in a candy store pointing stuff out on the image.
The only thing that men chefs are better at is making a mess! Why is it that men have no clue how to clean as you go???

*stuff fingers in my ears* I can practically hear Caitlyn yelling at me that I am being just as sexist with that comment Hahahahaaaaa!!

@BrightEyes That kit is beautiful, so many new kits in the shop. I feel like I am very far behind with challenges this month too. I am hoping that my mojo is with me today so I can get some catching up too.
Have a safe trip today and I hope that Chari does great at home. If she is anything like her mama, she is determined to make it work. Fab news about DS and his wife!! You haven't met her in person... how wonderful it will be to hug her!!!

@LSlycord This month is going super-fast, isn't it?? very smart to have meds for Shaun just in case. Is the nephrologist appt before you leave? I know you understand when you look at your kids in awe too <3
Ahhh!! The chain is so short!!

I'm obviously asking for a friend: How long time can you spend moving flowers around a layout before it's bordering OCD???

Good morning ladies. I was up early. Lots to get done between now and...fill in the blank...lots to get done all of the time. Made my grocery list for when Sar and family head down here. They fly into Orlando tomorrow morning and then we have reservations for the most amazing looking brunch. So, I promised that I would cook our traditional Easter dinner for supper on Monday night. I've got it on a spreadsheet so that I can be organized when I get to the store today.

Then I had a few plants that I picked up last Sunday and didn't get potted so I finished that up this morning. Is there anything more satisfying than deadheading flowers in the sunshine? I think not.

It is starting to look nice and summery around here. We have inflatable Easter eggs floating in the pool and I've been heating the pool so it doesn't get too cold at night. Hopefully it will be warm enough that Bo can enjoy it. And replaced some plastic Adirondack chairs that had faded badly after 2 years of hot Florida sunshine.

@faerywings those empanadas sound amazing. I can rarely get Shaun to cook with me. I keep telling him I can't send him off to a wife if he doesn't know how to cook. He just laughs and says he will live with us forever.

@tanteva if I could get my layouts to turn out like yours, I would spend hours moving flowers around. Your work is amazing!

((hugs)) to all!

Quick in and out again this AM. The house is so quiet... I took Chari home late yesterday afternoon. She will be calling sometime this morning to let me know if she is going to stay there or not. I am almost positive that it will be a yes to stay home. Then they will come down with both cars and load up her things. Doesn't seem normal without her around even though she was working on-line most of the day. I was worn out and fell asleep @ 8:30 PM and slept until 7:15AM. Guess my bod was making up for the late nights we had been having. The good thing was I found a short cut to use when coming home that cut off about 5 miles on the trip from her house (normally 30 miles). Most of the trip is on back roads - 2 lanes - as they are doing construction on the 4 lane highway that would be my normal route there and back.

Chris - No, I have never met my Son's wife... she lived in the Philippines. They got married there a couple of years ago and have been trying to get her Visa to come to the states since then. Covid started and put a huge delay in getting it.

So glad you got to take a hike with Scott and had such a great time. Ugh, poison ivy!!! Hope you didn't get too much exposure to it. And to get to cook with him yesterday must have been a plus.

Eva, just saw the challenge LO.... beautiful. You can spend hours moving flowers around when it looks like yours. :D

Linda, yes, the Florida sun does fade the outdoor furniture quickly. Glad you got some new pool side chairs before your friends arrive. Wow, you have a busy schedule before you leave on your trip. Enjoy your Easter Sunday dinner on Monday. Sounds like a delicious brunch on Sunday.

Hate to dash in and out but need to get dressed and start gathering stuff up.

Wishing all who celebrate it a Happy Easter!

Dinner turned out great! Basically followed the recipe but changed about everything. LOL Used other beans, canned tomatoes instead of fresh, omitted bell pepper & avocado, used harissa paste instead of sauce ... and so on. Can we just say I was inspired by the recipe? LOL

Today, at least - I have no recipe. That way I can do whatever I want and call it dinner. The plank will be involved, but I'm making potato wedges instead of pommes duchesse. ... Hmm ... when I think about it ... I'm making "plankstek" but changing everything. LOL At least there is a plank.

Candy??? Just a little.

Other plans? Only 4 episodes left of The Sopranos now. I'm gonna miss Tony! Oh, and there's yarn involved in my plans as well.

Good Morning everyone!! Sorry I was MIA yesterday, but hubby had the day off work and we needed to head to Costco early in the morning to beat the Easter Weekend rush! Glad we did as it wasn't too busy, but it was getting to be that way by the time we left. The traffic heading home was just awful and we crawled along the highway for quite some time, before it started to thin out and speed up a bit. Ugh!! Oh well we were home shortly after lunch and then got to work in the yard while we could. The rain held off just long enough to get the grass cut and to wash all of the pollen off of the front deck. I pulled weeds like crazy and lost count of how many buckets full I dumped into the garden waste bin. Still not done the weeds don't seem to care that the weather has been crazy cold! It is starting to look a lot better though and I am a bit stiff from all that bending over and pulling weeds. So today will be another busy one, as we are getting company for dinner tonight. My brother and SIL and DH's sister and her boyfriend are all coming for early Easter Supper. I need to clean the house and get the beds ready as they will all be spending the night. I wanted to thank you all for my Birthday Wishes!! I do feel very loved and blessed to have my O family!!

@faerywings - Sorry that you did not have a great sleep last night, hope that you get everything you need from the FP today! How nice that you are spending such good quality time with Scott. Hope that you both get to hike again soon! Nice that you can enjoy cooking together too! Our son Jason loves to cook and loves to help out when I am in the kitchen. We both have great guys!!

@tanteva - I love that you can get inspired by a recipe and then make it your own! Want to come to my place and cook for me?? I need to head to the gallery and check out your page, it sounds like it turned out beautifully!

@LSlycord - You have had so much to do and now you are getting company! How nice, it will be good to take a break for a bit and just have a nice visit! Sounds like your pool side is going to be lovely! Wish I could come for a swim!!

@BrightEyes - Kay it must be so very quiet at your house today! So nice that your DD is feeling so much better and is recouping so quickly! Although you will miss having her around, it is good that she is doing so well! Nice that you found a shortcut and took some milage off of the trip!

Ok I am off to get brunch on the go and then it will be cleaning and prepping for dinner tonight! Have a wonderful Saturday ladies! I sure hope to get some layouts done by next week as it sure won't be happening this weekend LOL.

Good morning ladies. Yesterday was a fun day. I took a day off unpacking and headed out with a friend I haven't seen since she moved to Kamloops 4 yrs ago. We walked for over 4 hours, enjoying the sunshine, listening to the birds in the trees although we couldn't see many of them because of the dense trees but the sound was so sweet to listen to. We took photos of hawks and eagles in the trees and an eagle on her nest. I got my first photo of a bluebird (they are so pretty) and a magpie (their tail feathers are very long). We walked along the Thompson River and saw the old insane asylum that has been closed up for decades but the building is still standing. As we drove up into the grasslands, along a winding dirt road, we saw 3 rams on the side of the road. I had my camera in the back seat so didn't get any photos b/c there was no where to pull over and there was a car behind me. It was so cool to see them just 15 feet away.

Hopefully, Darrell and Jen will get my computer set up today. Hope I can find my card reader easily (not sure where I packed it) and can load the photos I took. Today I will get some more unpacking done, we'll take the dogs out for an hour or two later and I need to do some general housework. With the dry windy weather here the dust is heavier than I am used to.

@faerywings The easter egg hunt sounds fun. I hope you don't end up with poison ivy blisters. I have never had any but I've heard it is quite nasty.

@tanteva Moving flowers around and playing with a cluster is part of the fun...no OCD there :)

@LSlycord Enjoy the family time.

I need to get some scrapping stuff done today in between everything else. Hopefully later I'll get some done on my PC upstairs if they get it all hooked up, I'm much more productive on that system. Have a great day everyone.

Well, I made it - barely. I have to leave in about an hour, but wanted to say hi. Tonight is prom and we're taking pictures of Braden and Hayden at 4:30. I can't wait to see her dress!

Chris @faerywings men just think it goes with the territory, I think - Braden has always felt "privileged" = expected his sisters to do things for him. I was ALWAYS on his case about it - I said "just because they're girls, doesn't mean they clean up your messes." (Shaking my head.) He's really sweet, but really "a guy". (Don't tell Cait I said that, either. BWAHAHA.)

That's funny about your optometrist - mine is the same way. Haha Yes, Ryan is a sweetie = he has an old soul and enjoys being around the elderly Cherokees who are teaching him things. His BFF (besides Ava) is in his 90's.

I had a nice surprise today - Casey (who cleans for us) brought me a whole flat of herbs and her daughter picked out an Easter bouquet for me at The Farmers' Market this morning. They're just beautiful! She doesn't have any grandparents, so I said they could adopt us. Her dd is almost 11, same as Asher and such a sweet girl.

Trudy @taxed4ever sounds like your weeding went well - I got a lot of mine done, too and got my back patio cleaned up yesterday. Have a wonderful celebration tonight!

Kay @BrightEyes I hope Chari does well at home - I'm sure she will.

Happy Easter all - I'm going to scoot out of here now. Hugs to all.

Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate! It is sunny out but dang cold. Glad I don't have to worry about little girls and Easter dresses and coats. LOL

Guess what they had at the FP??? Donuts!! Woo hoo! I was teasing the woman who put them out at the table- I said that I felt like I was stalking her but if I didn't bring a box home, the family would be disappointed! The dogs were happy to have a new toy to shred too.
I barely saw the kids- literally, a minute before they left and then for a minute or so in between parties. Their costumes were funny too- pirates on Easter :D My parents are coming up in a bit for breakfast so I have to get dressed and the house tidied/table set and all that.
xoxo

@LSlycord have a wonderful brunch today with the family!

Harvesting herbs, but this would be a close second haha. I am still very jealous of your weather but am so happy for you, the inflatable eggs in the poll sounds adorable

@BrightEyes best wishes to Chari and to you this weekend, I imagine I would be sad too in your shoes, but happy that she is back home with the family,

@tanteva please tell me that you aren't one of the recipe reviewers that gives 5 stars and then rewrites the recipe LOL JK- I actually appreciate it when people say what worked or didn't
Hope that your plank is yummy-- no matter what you end up putting on it.

@taxed4ever Smart of you to go to Costco on Fri, would not want to be there yesterday. Hope you had a fantastic time with your brother and SILs and BF yesterday and today too. I bet you are going to be wiped out tomorrow.

@bcgal00 That is really neat that already seeing old friends and new birds. But rams! That is sooo cool!!! It sounds like you are really settling in <3

@zanthia I hope you have photos to share!! (dogs and wine-- two of my three fave things- add in coffee and that is the Trifecta!)

@Cherylndesigns Awww, how sweet to have prom and prom pics :D
How awesome that Casey brought you plants, and flowers too... I can see how you have surrounded yourself with so many good people.

Gary is out of the shower, so it is my turn. xoxoxoxo

Morning, all. HAPPY EASTER!

Well, the move to get Chari home went very well. Between her car (Son#2 driving it) and my SUV, we were able to get everything moved in one trip. I was glad that her son unloaded most of my SUV when we got there. He got the heavy office chair and the large floor lamp out. My back was stiff from loading them into it. Chari was telling me she was able to take a shower that morning and the new shower chair and safety bars worked so well. I was relieved to hear that as it was one of the big things she had concerns about. I found a couple of her things still here but she can get them when she comes down to visit son Jim and Alyen next weekend. She is very glad to be back home and even though I miss her, I am happy for her to be there.

After I dropped her off I drove down to BestBuy and bought a 50" Samsung Smart TV that was on sale for $100 off! And I bought another indoor antenna for it. Couldn't resist it at such a good price... plus I get the installation free. After seeing all the streaming stuff when Chari was here and cutting the TV cable cord, I knew I would eventually get a smart TV. It comes with free Samsung streaming. Will decide later if I want to add Netflex or some other streaming services. I will have the installers move my 50" TV (non-smart) and the antenna into my bedroom. Can't find the control to work the little TV I have in there and it is at least 20+ years old so it is time to get rid of it. Will have them put the TV on top of the console in there... which will put it at about the same height that it would be if it was hung on the wall. I have DVD players in both rooms so I can watch DVDs if I want.

I changed the sheets in the guest room and need to change the ones in my room and clean the house before Jim gets here. Tomorrow the Termite control guy will be here, Tuesday the TV installers will be here and on Wednesday the guy to inspect the roof and give me an estimate on fixing it. Have some loose tiles that need to be put back in place. Also need to take the SUV in for servicing. So it will be a busy week.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy the company as you celebrate the holiday.

Happy Easter my Lovely OOOOO's,

I slept 8 straight hours last night!!!!! I feel so good and wish I could do that every night.

Chris @faerywings we do have some good people around us - we're very blessed. We had such fun yesterday - Braden and Hayden were SO beautiful together. Then Braden announced that a "couple" of their friends were stopping by. So, all of these gorgeously dressed couples started walking in - there were 10 of them! Then, all of their parents came walking in. Adrienne looked at me and said she had NO idea. It was pretty funny but sweet. We found some "nibblings" to put out and she said she wished she'd known that this many people were coming. Ava had her camera (as always) and all of the couples wanted their pictures taken plus the girls wanted theirs taken separately and on and on and on. She took 1500 pictures! Braden, always enterprising, told them that his sister would charge $50 a couple. Hahaha At least, he gave her the money.

There are always shenanigans around here. (Oh, even one of Braden's teachers showed up - his debate teacher. It's a very small school.) Word sure traveled fast.

Kay @BrightEyes good news about Chari! I'm sure she's glad to be home and as much as you probably enjoyed the company, I'm sure you're happy to be back to normal. Your new TV sounds nice, too! Glad you're getting the big screen one ready to watch your DVD's on.

Happy Easter to all! I got Momma O's Challenge done last night so I need to go post it.

Hugs to all.

Good morning ladies and Happy Easter! Yesterday was busy with unpacking. Darrell and Jen got my computer hooked up but there are things missing, EHD's, wacom tablet, mouse and other things. So still no scrapping on the PC yet. How frustrating. I am sure that I had all my computer stuff everything packed and in a corner of the office, to go into my car when driving up to the new city but somehow a box is missing. I can't remember what the box looks like so it may be difficult to find. Ugh. So no idea when I'll be scrapping at my desk upstairs.

Today I am going to put a lot of time into unpacking. Then this afternoon we'll take the dogs to a dog park 5 minutes away that is a large open space fenced yard with benches to sit down. Then out the back gate we go down the short path onto the beach. They had a good time yesterday before dinner when I took them there. I thought there was a path over the tiny hill, following the water, I had no idea it was a huge beach there. Then tonight we will finish "The Thing About Pam" tonight. The day is going to fly by.
