Happy Easter Weekend to those of you who celebrate! Happy Tax Day (???) to us in the USA. Happy We Didn't Wake up to an Escalation with N Korea Day too! :high5:
Lookin' on the bright side.
:D

Gary walked into my office this a few minutes ago and said that he hasn't even seen my haircut since I got it done yesterday (props to him for remembering). It has been in a bun/ponytail since I walked out of the place. *I* don't even know what it looks like, bwahaha! It's the same cut as always so there is no big need to know. It feels a lot healthier which is always a plus.

That was my big event of the day. I was able to get some of my seedling planted into larger pots. They won't be ready to go outside for another month but they have more room and soil to grow in. So far, the salad mix, spinach, and thyme are doing well. The leeks were a bust. Pole beans too. The pole beans I will try to put right into the ground which is what we did last year.
My library has a seed program where a company donates packets of organic seeds and we can check out up to 10 packets. I don't usually do very well with seeds but it can't hurt to try them for free.

And it is Officially Spring based on two separate conditions!! 1. I had a tick on me yesterday and 2. I have poison ivy.
The tick was just crawling on my shirt but dammit. The poison ivy is simply a fact of gardening life. It is so hard to see the vines when it is this early in the spring and my yard is surrounded by trees and vines.I have to get more of the poison ivy oil removing soap.

My mom is popping up this morning to bring us Easter pies. Then I am off to work outside some more, ticks and poison ivy be damned.

Hoping you all have a great day too!

Trudy- you are *not* an old woman, you do a million more things a day than I do and I am not old, I refuse to be LOL
It sounds like the three of you had an incredible time together, I bet Clara is even more special IRL. I would have liked to do that scavenger hunt too.
Where did you Gary take you for dinner?

Nancy- yay for new haircuts! Congrats on taxes being done, and yes, I wish I could decide where the money went. Def. not for Mar-a-Lago. :yell:
I shouldn't laugh at your DS but jeez Louise! FWIW- Cait and Scott had that style argument about him leaving the bathroom a mess and she waited for him to clean it up until she couldn't stand it anymore. Then when she called him out, he said he never left the stuff on the floor, how could he have, since it was gone. *face palm*

Rae- how nice to have Jen come along with you to the trailer? Does she do that often or was this a special trip? Either way, it must have been nice to have her along. That stinks about the water leaks and the table breaking.
Enjoy the weekend!

xoxo

good morning - It is party cloudy and it is supposed to be in the mid 60s and in the low 80s tomorrow. Yea. Got Luther out and back and soon off to his bi-weekly bath. I love it when he is done - he smells so good. Yesterday was pretty funny as Luther and I were on the afternoon walk we walked in front of our local fire station and one of the EMT guys asked for Luther to come over and play. Luther was so happy! He got great belly rubs and compliments. But he really does not like bike riders or kids on skate boards. If I had not been paying attention the skate boarder would be on ground and the kids too. I stopped and really yelled at Luther both times. Hopefully he will get used to kids being out and loud as the summer progresses. Today not much going on hockey started this am at 9:30 am with the 18 years old and younger World hockey championships, then at 3:30 pm starts the NHL play-offs. Hoping for Trudy's MG that Boston can again pull out a win. Last night the games were very exciting.

Chris congrats on hair cut. Mine is always the same too so neither of the boys said anything. I can't believe you saw a tick and poison ivy attacked you. And I can't believe how calm you are! I walk in the woods and don't have a clue as to what poison ivy even looks like. Maybe my ignorance is my defense. Enjoy your outside time! Enjoy the Easter cakes.

Trudy how wonderful your time with Clara and her daughter sounded. Funny about directions or lack of. I have lived in my town for over 35 years and I still don't know the road names but I can get places just by landmarks. Crazy. Cant wait to hear how you MG treated you.

Rae the description of your trailer and the whole area sounds a bit disheartening but also sounds like it could have been a whole lot worse. Nice to have Jen along. Good luck with the pipes and debris cleaning!

Have a great day all!

Happy Sunday/Easter to all!

It looks like it is going to be a beautiful weather day here in NJ. Plenty of sun and warmth, near 80*.
Of course, that throws me into the conundrum of what to wear to my brother's today. Caitlyn gave me a couple of cute tops from her closet to try on, but I am still in winter cover-up, pasty skin mode. Add in more poison ivy bumps and I don't think anyone wants to see my arms LOL

Not much happened here yesterday, I spent a bit more time outside trying to clear the road grit off of my plants along the street. Poor things just get buried in it. I try to scoop it up and put it in places where nothing grows but can use a bit of drainage.

Cait and I are heading down to my brothers in a bit. Brendan is meeting us there when he gets off of work. Scott is working and Gary will be here.

Any nice plans for you?

Have a wonderful one whatever you do!

Nancy- how cute to have Luther get pets in by the EMTs. He is such a sweet boy! I know what you mean in hoping that he gets used to more people being out and about in the summer. Jaida's has been barking her head off now that we have windows open. We now are talking to her in the Mommy's Home!!! kind of voice. "It's the mailman, yay!!" or "It's a nice puppy!!!" Something has to work.
Sounds like you had a very busy hockey day.

xoxo!

Today is a gorgeous day- actually the month has been beautiful- mild temps, sunshine, light breeze. I went to 2 crawfish boils this weekend and today we are having ham, turkey, mac n cheese, potatoes and green beans. My knee is bothering me so I am not feeling the best. Happy Easter to all.

good morning - Happy Easter. Luther is now asleep as he had a very busy morning. First my DH took him on a walk and then I wanted to go to a new park so we went there. Lots of spring flowers and trees are budding especially redbud trees. Gorgeous. It is a lovely walk along the River to a lake. It is on the south side of our town and Luther had never been before. The air was filled with birds singing mostly redwing blackbirds and robins, turtles sunning themselves and a mallard. What a great start to the day. We are going to an late afternoon Easter dinner with all the family so that will be nice. Last night I made the Blue Apron Seared Salmon with lemon labneh and as a side we had Freekeh, dates and kale. Well I had no idea what freekeh or labneh were so looked up on the internet and freekeh is a wheat grain and labneh is a drained yogurt. Who knew LOL? Well all I can say is the meal was amazingly delicious especially as I am not a fish lover. My son who complains a lot helped me prepare the food and thought it was delicious also and went back for seconds. Good for him to do. I had also thought kale was bitter but this was really good and the dates added a bit of sweetness. I guess you all can tell that this is really working well for me. Watched hockey and it was exciting. Got scrapping done so that was too good. More of the same today!

Chris have a great time at your brother's. It is cloudy now but the temps are really warm.
Glad you had fun outside.

Have a great day all!

Happy Easter, everyone! The skies are clear today so we'll enjoy getting outdoors for a bit this afternoon before dinner to take Taz for a walk. I bought a small grainfed, organic, antibiotic-free ham for dinner. I thought I'd splurge since we don't need a huge ham and I'm not making the tons of food I normally would. We're keeping it simple this year, ham, mashed potatoes (cauliflower mash for me), corn (not for me), sauteed green beans/parmesan/butter/garlic and a spinach salad. Jen is bringing gluten free choc cake and jelly donuts for everyone and I will make avocado/cocoa pudding for me.

Chris - barking at the window....ha ha...as I was reading your post, Taz started flipping out at the window, using his big-boy bark which is hilarious coming out of a small dog, so I looked out to see the big raccoon frozen at the end of our lawn, then he jumped up, turned and ran. Taz stayed on guard for another five minutes to make sure he was gone. Of course, as soon as Taz lay down and looked away from the window, the raccoon started slinking across the lawn again which got Taz riled up again LOL. Enjoy the beautiful weather today. No such luck for us. I don't think its going to rain but it probably won't warm up much past 60 today.

Nancy - sure sounds like some amazing meals you are getting from Blue Apron. That salmon recipe sounds delicious. Sounds like a lovely walk today with Luther.

Trudy - are you home for Easter or already on your trip? Enjoyed seeing the photo of you with Clara and her daughter.

Sharon - hope you feel better.

I'm hopping in the shower now, will do a bit of housework and prep for dinner. The kids will be here in a few hours. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hey ladies.. quickly popping in and out for a second to say hi and sorry that I have been MIA for most of this weekend! Very busy getting things done around here so that things are ready for DH all week while I am away. He is out washing my car right now and so I have a couple of seconds to tell you all that I hope you are having a great Easter! DH took me for a great rib-eye steak, (probably not grass fed as it was at Mr. Mikes) but ohhh so yummy!! Then supper last night at my sisters ham and all the fixings but not for me, I had ham and cucumbers and pickles LOL. She forgot that I was Keto. It was ok though as I was not hungry anyway. I did cheat a bit and had a very small piece of this whipped cream cheese cake with mini eggs on top, it was very good but I couldn't eat all of it, too sweet. Today we are going on a hike to Stoney Hill, DH has never done it and I have done it twice now, a beautiful hike. So I better get going and finish my chores, then off to Courtney tomorrow sometime, when Jackie and the kids come to pick me up whenever that will be. :noidea: Talk you all again soon!
