Daily Ooos: April 12-13: Weekend Edition!

Debby, I thought you had knee replacement?? Or did you have surgery for something else? Do you still get gel shots afterwards? The gel shots worked on one of my knees, but isn’t helping the other knee. Had my last gel shot last week and Doctor said next step is knee replacement UGH. My knee felt funny for a couple days. I hope you get some relief.
This is my forth set of gel shots in my knees putting off replacements, they have worked great for me so far. I had hip replacement 3 years ago and shoulder 1 year ago but in Dec I tripped over big cable our power co. put across patio and dislocated my shoulder so had that put back in place 5 days later. I'm sorry you are needing a knee replacement they are not fun but once healed my friends say it is wonderful. Good luck to you @bitzee

Oh, the joys of getting older. I am glad the gel shots are working for you. After having so much success with one knee, I expected the same with the other. I don’t want to give up being active and working in my garden so I will eventually take doctor’s advice.

Good morning and Happy Sunday to you all! I have another exclamation point there and I am sort of pretending to be excited about the day. My mood isn't as bad as yesterday but still not great.
It snowed on and off almost all day, and then it rained most of the night. The sump pump is running this morning so the ground must be pretty soggy. At least the rain washed most of the snow away. There are still a few patches of under the trees and my car is semi-covered but that should be gone soon.

I was feeling wistful while scrapping my page for Jeanne's vacation challenge. Looking at photos from past trips down the shore made me wish for that kind of weather as well as to be there. I didn't do much else. I stayed out of the boot most of the day. Walking feels weird. My ankle is pretty stiff and now I am worried I won't be ready to work on Friday.

I hate being a Debbie Downer so let me see what I can share that was good from yesterday.
*puts on Thinking Cap~~~> :party1:*

1. My dad had a good visit with a new ENT and he goes back in a few weeks for an evaluation for a better-than-Costco set of hearing aids. Since his hearing is due to a bunch of different issues in each ear, I don't think Costco was the right place for him to go. Same as why I wouldn't want Gary to go to Walmart for his diabetic retinopathy but I was fine going there for regular contacts.
2. I caught a video on my feeder of a house finch feeding his partner. She was sitting next to him with her mouth wide open and he was giving her seeds. Gary googled it and found out it is courtship feeding. Pretty amazing to see it!
3. My whole family is now addicted to watching the birds. Even Tom was showing me a video of a blue jay on the wire outside his window. :D

You know what? I *am* in a better mood! That exclamation point is meant sincerely. ♥

My plans for today: grocery order. That's it. HAGD!

:hug4:
Watching birds will always lift your spirits! ;)

My brother lives in Denville right off of Rt 10 and he got 3-4 inches. So
Gary said the same about how weird it looked to see the snow covering the tiger lily stalks. It's like when we had that October blizzard and then the leaves fell on top of the snow.
Hope that the weather warms up soon!

Wow!! That's a lot of hair. Be careful next time you shampoo, you know you're going to end up using way too much! LOL
How was the get-together? Have fun at the church dinner today, too.

You could have tried Caitlyn's method- sticking them in your waistband. Kay @BrightEyes would get a kick out of that!
I hope that your furnace and your back are both working better.

@taxed4ever I saw the LO of you and SIL on Facebook, I loved it!
I'm sorry that you felt the aftereffects of FIL's party but am happy that it was such a good time!
Yup, I am wearing my hiking shoes in the house and will switch to the boots in another day or so. I got a new pair of above-the-ankle boots for Christmas that I want to break in before Friday but I want my ankle to feel a little stronger before I shove my feet into them. ;)

You are right and I am impatient.
(No kidding, she says... haha!)

TY! I know you totally get the impatience I am struggling with. If the weather was better here, I would go sit in my backyard, maybe pick up some sticks, but considering it feels like I live in AK... nope! Not today!
Hope you are enjoying the quiet-ish weekend!

So many good pampering thoughts to your furnace, Vicky!

@bcgal00 Well, you called it about D needing to have surgery. Poor guy. I hope he is feeling back to normal very soon.

That is going to be a lot of fun! I bet you are going to come home with so many new ideas for designing and studio set-up.
I saw on FB that hummingbird sightings are starting in South Jersey. I'll probably start putting my feeder out at the end of the week, maybe early next week if it stays this cold.

If you all think I am obsessed with the song birds at my camera feeder, I don't want to think of how crazy I am going to be with hummingbirds. Remember how I would share that we'd be having dinner and I would see one and make everyone freeze so I could watch? It is going to be BAD! (In a great way. LOL)

Are they feeling any less weird? Hope that the gel works!
Seems like you stayed busy -and on your feet- since then.

@Terri M Pretty violets!!
I hope that you can find the bendches or do you think they are gone for good?

:giggle4:
I don't blame you!
Cold gathering yesterday unless you stayed by the fires! I didn't stay there long. The shooting noise is not fun to me!

The furnace is still not working! At least the sun is out and we are layered up in the house, so it is only uncomfortable in here in the mornings.

The church service and dinner was wonderful today! We didn't get home until after 3. The missionary that preached was born in Australia to missionary parents and he is now a missionary to Papua New Guinea. I love listening to his Aussy accent!

Happy Sunday! It is beautiful here in mid-Missouri. it's 85* at the moment and we are watching the Masters on tv. We went and played trivia at a local church with friends and came in 2nd place out of 10 tables. We had a ton of fun! Dinner is beef bourguignon in the crockpot. It smells so yummy in here! Here is the link to dinner and a picture of our trivia team! I hope everyone has a great late afternoon!!
