*oh my aching head!*
Nope, not a hangover. Lack of sleep. The past week, I have been waking up at 4.30 am and haven't been able to get back to sleep. I am so tired and achy that I almost wrote "October" up there ^^

I am so glad that I didn't go shopping yesterday. I would have wandered aimlessly. As it was, I was wandering aimlessly online shopping for my SIL. I had no idea what to get her so I looked at Etsy for "Irish Ornaminerts" and found a gorgeous handblown glass ornie that was called "Irish Moss." Took me a while to order it and now I am not sure if it is going to be here in time. Argh. To top it off, I literally just got a notification that the shoes I ordered for Caitlyn are on indefinite backorder. I got a really amazing deal on them, and just ugh.
I was teasing Caitlyn last night that I made it to Dec 6 before I said how much I hate this time of year Bwuahaha!! Christmas is a love/hate feeling most of the time. It was so much easier when the kids were little (and I could get them to behave by pretending to call Santa #devil )
Cait is now understanding the gist of it, Tom's family wants her to spend time with them at their house so she is going to be running back and forth too and isn't very happy about it.
So much stress. Blergh!!!

Add in that I have been waking up at 4.30 almost every morning for the past week... o_O No wonder I feel like s***
Gary is taking Caitlyn's car for inspection today and asked if I wanted to go with him and hit some stores on the way home. I don't want to leave the house but at the same time, I should go. Maybe if he is there we can find some stuff together.

I need more coffee... anyone need a refill too?

@vickyday Gary is great about eating whatever is in front of him, I struggle more with Caitlyn. I spend way too much time trying to accommodate everyone.
At least I don't have to cook tonight, we are making appetizers while we decorate the tree when Cait gets home. Oh yeah, I forgot about that until just now too......
I am sure you had a fun day with Carolyn and Ilene!

@BrightEyes I haven't done the Song Lyrics Challenge yet but I did upload the Redo a LO one. I hate the Lyrics one because I always get either the Mariah Carey or Paul McCartney ones stuck in my head. LOL!

@bcgal00 OK-- did you make the oatmeal squares???? That will count if you did :D
Good luck increasing some oats/whole grains, hope that your stomach and body cooperate.

@Cherylndesigns I LOVE THE SLUG!

I sat with my therapy light yesterday too but it only made my headache worse. I have to make an eye exam appr, I know my Rx is off and that isn't helping the headaches, but-- *fingers crossed it helps my mood and energy*
The Shortbreads are so amazing. MIL got me a stoneware plate to make them in when we first got married and they are so good
49c4293e59442e041f8cf0c960465e1a.jpg

I also make "regular" shortbreads for the rest of the family/friends but they have a higher flour content and the other is more butter.

Love and hugs!!

Yes...bring me a refill please @faerywings. It looks like I should have had the refill yesterday! Imagine my surprise this morning when I opened my computer to see my Tuesday post on the Daily O's...UNPOSTED. Good grief.

I didn't wrap any Christmas presents yesterday. After my interview, we went looking at cars. My number one criteria is that it needs to be easy to get into and out of. Number two is that it must have all of the safety features...I want to know if there is a vehicle in my blind spot, I want to know if I'm too close to the car in front of me, etc, etc, etc. (Anyone besides me hear Yul Brynner's voice from the King and I?) And, even more than that, I want Brian to know when he is doing that! We constantly argue over his driving and I'd much rather have the car nagging at him than me. ;) I don't think that we will do anything about a car until after the first of the year...but I am trying to figure out what I really want first. Out of the five that we looked at, I narrowed it to two. There are two or three more that I want to review...then I will start reading reviews.

Sydney called several times yesterday because she is bored and doesn't want to study! I told her if she feels that way now, she hasn't seen anything yet! I told her that last semester of that last year will kill her...I remember very well! She will get it done. And Shaun took his last final yesterday and has his schedule ready for the last semester of his AA. Now he (we) has to get his applications in for wherever he is going for his BA. I think that it will be UNF which is right here in town.

Brian is now up and making a fresh pot of coffee so I will go get that refill now and then I will be back for personals. AND (big AND here), I will pay attention and make sure that I get it posted after I type it.

To add to the madness, I was trying to see how far the store I wanted to go to is from the inspection station, this is what the map looks like:

Is it any wonder why NJ drivers have such a bad rap?? :D

Did anyone notice that we have a new smilie?Christmas TreeVery seasonal!

@faerywings I just do not feel like going into the stores! I don't think it would improve my mood at all...and I might have to come home and climb into bed until Christmas is over. Nope, online shopping is my friend! Except maybe Costco because I could pick up some good frozen food that is easy. Maybe a very, very focused trip to Costco today. Don't care about anything they have except the frozen food.

@BrightEyes you are 100% right about the kits in the shop for Christmas and winter. I didn't get a song lyric layout done yesterday so I will need to get on that today! I've been able to keep up with the O activities and that makes me happy. It sounds to me like buying a frozen pecan pie is definitely the smart way to go.

@bcgal00 your layouts are looking so awesome right now. I can't imagine how you find time for the hikes, the dog park and the scrapping. It is no wonder that you don't have time to cook/bake. I'm thinking that I may switch back to Keto after the first of the year. My carb cravings are out of control! I'm very grateful that neither of our dogs are small so I don't worry about the hawks swooping down to pick one up when I let them out into the backyard.

@Cherylndesigns I LOVE the slug. Where in the world did you find that? Because that's how I feel most days. LOL Sorry that Chuck's tooth is bothering him but hope that all the lights got sat out. That will look very Christmas-y. And your layouts are really filling up the gallery. Love it!

@vickyday hope that you had fun with Ilene and Carolyn yesterday! And finished up Mark's food requests.

@tanteva I hope that you are just knitting your darkness away!

Have a good day all. I'm going to hit "Post Reply" now!

Yes, I feel your pain with the headaches! I get them when I am tired, too! What a pain! Pun intended, LOL!
I am fortunate in that all of the grands like to receive money! The older ones use it for things they are saving up for. The younger ones mom has to deal with, LOL! The really little ones we usually buy gifts for, unless mom wants the moolah to buy what the baby needs. I'm OK with that! ;)

I spent the entire day with Ilene and Carolyn, so I did not get Mark's last request completed. I did get the cheese I need for the sausage balls, however. I drove by the grocery store on the way home because Mark wanted ice cream, LOL!

Good Morning!
Had a great day with Carolyn and Ilene yesterday. I even included the selfie in my Song Lyrics page for yesterday's challenge!
I'm having a PJ day today as the weather is rainy, cold and foggy, and I AIN'T leaving the house! Or, that is the plan, anyway! I will be working on commenting in the gallery today, checking out the challenge/game for the day, doing some knitting and listening to an audiobook. I am currently HOOKED on Charles Martin books!
The Mountain Between Us was the first one I read that got me hooked.
Some of the others I have listened to:
When Crickets Cry
The Water Keeper, The Record Keeper, and The Letter Keeper is a Trilogy
The Dead Don’t Dance and the sequel Maggie
Wrapped in Rain is the one I just finished.
Getting ready to listen to The Long Way Gone.
The genre is Drama. I L.O.V.E. his books!
I listen to audiobooks when I am doing my chores and mindless activities that I don't need to concentrate on.

Anywho.....that's the plans for today. Ilene just called and asked me to stop by if I was out today and in her neighborhood so I could drag her Christmas stuff down for her. But I told her today was a pj day and had no plans to go out. I promised her we would do it the first of next week if she didn't hog tie someone before that time, LOL!

Have a great day!

I hear you on the money. It is the easiest thing in the world to Venmo each of my nieces and my nephew with Christmas gifts and birthday gifts. But I now have a great niece and two great nephews and I am sure enjoying buying them toys!

Can't believe it... I slept until 7 AM this morning. Got up just in time to see the sunrise. Yes, Chris... I will take a refill on my coffee #coffeeThanks. Which reminds me I need to buy some more coffee - the can is almost empty. I lucked into a sale on coffee creamer last week so grabbed 3 64oz containers. That should hold me for several weeks. The store had been out of them the week before. Seems like there is no rhyme or reason for the outages (except for the shortage on eggs).

Looks like I spoke too soon... the outside thermometer sensor started working again after all - about 20 minutes after I changed batteries in it. So I know that it was 33* outside this morning. Brrrr!!! Think I will still go ahead and buy a new one the next time I near to Lowe's as I think this is a warning that the one I have may quit soon.

@faerywings I was LOL over the NJ map you shared!!! Yes, I remember the crazy driving we did when we lived on Long Island - and I sure it is much worse now than it was then. Hope you find some of the things you need while you are out. So sorry about the headache. I remember when DD#1 was dating her boyfriend and working out how to spend the holidays with both families. We ended up having our dinner on Christmas Eve so they could have Christmas dinner at his family's house.

@LSlycord Had to laugh over you forgetting to add yesterday's post. I have done that on occasion. Hope you narrow down the choice on the new car. I agree... get one that let's you know when there are cars in the blind spot, following too close to other cars, etc... better to let the car nag at Brian than you doing it. .... snicker....

@vickyday Enjoy your PJ day today. I had a PJ day yesterday. You are such a good friend to help others. I had the grandsons bring down all my Christmas decorations down from the attic several years (when DH wasn't able to it anymore) and DD#3 helped straighten out the garage 2 years ago so I could reach them easily. Getting older changes where and how we put things. Glad you found where the larger smilies are.

@Cherylndesigns hope you got the lights put up that you wanted. DH and I both disliked having to go through the Christmas lights to find the burnt out bulbs... it was always such a chore. Our neighborhood has a lighting contest (judging this coming weekend) so there are a lot of decorations out. But, there are many like me who don't have any so I don't feel bad about not putting any up.

I need to think about doing something for the Day 7 challenge. Drawing a blank on what to do for it. May go browse through the shop and maybe that will spark an idea or two.

And I am enjoying my pj day! I even turned down a lunch invitation from DH! #coffee#coffee

Good morning ladies. Quick in and out for me. I need to shower and get some things done around the house and then get out for some errands. We need to go to Costco to return slippers that don't fit D and need to go to the pet store. I made the blueberry squares yesterday and they are great. I had one for lunch with some greek yogurt sweetened with SF toffee syrup. Yum.

I want to take Remi and Remi to the dog park later. I've been going to the dog park with just Remi but today will bring Taz b/c we won't be out there long. His old body still needs a bit of exercise.

HAGD everyone. Back later maybe.

Good morning all. Christmas TreeChristmas TreeChristmas TreeChristmas TreeChristmas Tree LOVE the Christmas tree emoji!!

I'm glad you girls liked my slug. Linda @LSlycord I think it was you who asked where I found it. It was on Giphy and it was HUGE. I just resized it WAY down so that it wouldn't eat up the whole forum. BWAHAHA I loved that I actually found a slug.

Still no tree up - Kay @BrightEyes I bet your neighborhood looks gorgeous! I'd have to hire somebody to do that and I'm sure a lot of them do. Chuck's tooth (I call it the phantom tooth) is still bothering him so the boxes are all just sitting here waiting...........................waiting...........................waiting. Braden brought all of our stuff down yesterday. Adrienne said she'd help me put it up but they're leaving Friday night and won't be home until Wednesday (I think). Maybe I can sweet talk Ava into helping me. Like Kay said, it's the lights that are a pain. Most of ours are burned out after so many years, so we have to do it the old-fashioned way. If prices ever go down (cough cough) I'd love to get a new," skinny"tree. I think they make them now that pull out in one piece. Ours is only 3 pieces, so it's not bad. I might be able to do it myself, but the lights..............UGH. Christmas TreeChristmas TreeChristmas Tree

We officially "cut the cord" with cable TV yesterday. It's such a new learning curve - I'm so techy on computers and phones, but I "don't do" TV's. They drive me bananas. I just tried to turn it on and it's asking for a password and Chuck's gone, of course, and he set it up. I have no idea where he has all that. I just turned it off. Ava's JUST like me (of course she is) - she hates TV's and I don't even think she ever watches hers. She gets so frustrated over TV's. What is it about TV's, anyway? I know lots of people who went back to cable/broadband over the frustration. I understand now. I just want to turn it on - is that too much to ask? Now I turn it on and I have 99 apps. #devil

I got the Song Lyric LO done last night - I'm not crazy about it, but this isn't my favorite kind of LO. I don't like to put a bunch of writing on a page. Oh well it is what it is. I used the Gather kit again - I'm still trying to make a page a day for that collab.

Chris @faerywings your shortbread looks beautiful. I didn't realize there were different kinds of shortbread. Back when I went to the coffee shops all the time, I always got one to eat with my cofffee.

Well, I'd better hop on our of here and post my LO. HAGD all!
