Okay......WHO HID ALL THE AUGUST DAYS???? Can it really be the 25th already?????

My Grandmother was right...the older you get, the faster they go by!!!

Okay...personals:

Meg.....Wow..sounds like a headache with that program!! Congrats on getting all that new work!!! sounds like you will be busy!! this is always GOOD!!! and I HEAR YA ON THE YOGURT!!!! Plain yogurt is YUCKY!!! I love Micky D's Parfaits...they are yummy and only $1....Chick Fil A is the best one though!!

Clara...Okay...who do I need to call at the bank and pull rank on them???? This just sucks!!!! I swear, nothing can ever just fall into place!!! Sweetie I hope that this is all straigt TODAY!!!! I am praying for you and I just know it's all going to work out!!! I am sure whatever you decide for Ethan's bday it will be great!! he will have a good time!!

Trudy.... I know you hate to say goodbye to your DD...~weeping for Trudy~ Sounds like that bday dinner was fun....I like that you say it was LOUD...sounds like my house and our get togethers!! We are definately a loud bunch!!!

Sally....I have to chuckle that you went to your Mom's to spend the night when the power went out!! We always just tough it out...when I kids were young..they liked the power to go out, because we turned it into camping indoors!!! I swear, I have this mental picture of you like they show on television when someone is in a rush...slightly fast forwarded...I can see you rushing from place to place....home...back out...home...back out....WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

LindaS...I hope you enjoyed your quiet time!!! and your time off too! Yipeee!!

Chris....Kids are funny about what are "MUST HAVES" when they go back to school...and I remember, the older they get, the stanger those things become!!! Cameran had a great first day!! He happily got on that bus and said that it was a good day!! Second day was good too...sooooooo..let's hope it continues!!

Nana Linda beat me to it, I was just about to open the thread and Poof! Here it was :D

It sis raining again..... blerg..... We are still hoping to head down the shore with Scott's girlfriend who's not a girlfried,

Anyway- I digress..... I am game to go down even if it is drizzling..... I just miss the ocean so much. It always amazed me that I could have ,married and spawned people who don't like the shore!!!!

So the plan is around 8 am we'll start checking the weather and if it not too bad we'll go anyway.

*fingers crossed*

Linda W - Seriously, who stole all of the days???? I want them back!!!!!!!! I am really glad Cameran had a great first day. I loved your LO of him!
Shopping was ok- Cait got a Misfits T-shirt and Scott got some guitar picks and a Slayer t-shirt. I guess as long as they are happy.... :0

Meg- the hearst castle? Cripes! That bites about the computer and all that, It seems that they can somehow sense when you are in a rush to get things done and that is when they decide to freeze.
Sorry to hear about your yogurt, can you add some vanilla extract and cinnamon to make it taste better?

Oh Clara- some easy bank vibes coming your way~~~~~~~

Oh Trudy- I am sorry that you had to say g-bye to DD. Even when my kids go back to school during the day I miss them (ok, just *parts* of them, not the bickering!). I hope that the time til Jan. flies by!

And yes, like out Nana Linda- loud is the only way to have a family dinner!! We try to go out for family dinners to this little Italian place. The restaurant is an old converted house and we try to get one of the upstairs "bedrooms" so we can be ourselves and not bother anyone else. Yes- get a group of Italians, several bottles of wine and a reason to celebrate....LOL)

Sally- oh wow, you are so dang organized!!!!! That is cute that you stayed at your mom's- I would too if I had to.

Clara-- good luck with Ethan's b-day plans. Just a thought but maybe you could do something really small now and then do a "half b-day " when he is settled and has freinds and all that?

Nana!! Go for it!!!!!! I think you and Mike deserve a cruise!!!!!

Linda S- how is everyone today?? I hope you all are great!

xoxoxo

Uuuuuuhhhhmmm....Yeah...that's his girlfriend...you can see it all over their faces...and look where his arm is...around her waist, not her shoulders!!!

Yep...definitely a girlfriend! And can you blame her? Scott's got gorgeous eyes Chris!

Ok...totally running behind today. Got the kids off to school. Get to pick them up in less than an hour. Can't wait to hear about the first day. Sydney went right to sleep last night. She never does that...she told me she couldn't fall asleep and 10 minutes later she was out! Shaun on the other hand was wired! He finally fell asleep at about 11:30. I laid with him, I had him get in my bed, he finally fell asleep on the floor by the bed. He was just too excited!

Then, while the kids were gone, Brian and I went to the cell phone store. I have a Blackberry and Brian doesn't do data on his phone. Finally, he has changed his mind. So he's got my Blackberry now and I've got a Droid so that I can get work emails. So I'm trying to learn to work it!

Anyway...that's the excitement at the Slycord house today. And tonight...no practices of any kind! And the weather is beautiful here. In the upper 70's and sunny! Totally awesome!

LindaW -- I know!! I keep pinching myself with how quickly the summer is passing! I'm weird... I hate the summer -- August especially -- because of the heat! 109 today, and climbing!

Chris -- yep, that's his girl friend!! But I'm totally jealous of you having rain right now :(

Linda -- Wow, first day of school!! I was always a bunch of nerves the night & morning before the first day of school! It wasn't until my last two years of college that I finally calmed down...

Ok... Onto my Wednesday Wishes...

We always stop and look at the fish at the pet store... and Jeff has wanted a beta since way back when we were first dating. So, I went to the dollar store today to find something for my keys - but instead I bought a nice wide vase, and green & blue glass marbles. I ran it by Jeff & sure enough, we headed off to the pet store!! They only had a few left, and we walked away with a red one with huge fancy fins! Enough supplies for 2+ months + "fish bowl" set-up + fish = $13!

Hey girlies!! I'm just sitting here in my princess set up (that's what I like to call my new bed Mr Gorgeous got me for my bday) trying to figure out what to do next...we all need a little down time each day, right?? I've been pretty militant about having down time each day...and it usually involves the computer, facebook, and hootsuite! And I haven't been getting sick as much (me running myself ragged=major sick yuck!!). So I really believe in the "hide in your room in the princess set up" down time! :)

So NanaLinda, in my defense, it was over 100 degrees on the day of the storm and I'm not about to sleep in a 100degree house...Also, I HAD to finish my new kit and upload it, so internet deprivation is actually worse than the lack of air conditioning!! LOL!!! Last year we lived here in the house for 6 weeks with no AC and it wasn't bad, but oh my, if it had been high temps like it is now here, I probably wouldn't have made it!! yikes!!!! Last night sleeping in my own bed (that princess area again!) was pure heaven!! :)

Chris, I adore that pic of Scott and his NOT-girlfriend. :) I can't believe how fast our babies are growing up! Omgosh, I just signed Cora up for College admissions today! She has to take an entrance exam and then hope that they will let her take college algebra. I was standing in line thinking, I can't believe I have a child old enough to even be considered for college courses!! But if it all works out, she'll have credits for HS classes and for college. (and I don't have to teach Algebra2 to her!! it's the little things in life!!)

LindaS, Ohhhhh you will be hearing your phone say "DROID!" over and over. Mr Gorgeous has one of those. It's a pretty awesome phone! The apps you can get are pretty cool. Your kids would love the stars app...I can't remember what it's called...but you hold your phone up to the sky at night and it tells you what constellations are right there. When you move your phone, the stars move, too...showing the sky and the names of the constellations. AMAZING! I'll ask Mr G the name and post it on your FB page!!

Meg, congrats on the new family member!! and nice savings, too!! Wow!! :) Soo glad to have you here in the Os, BTW...I know, I'm late to the party, but I had to say it anyway!!

Hey, did you girlies hear that Mary Ellen is pregnant with #2? I'm really excited for her!!! (and miss her in the Os!!)

Okay, I'm gonna actually watch a streamed netflix tv show for some more down time. 3 hours at the local junior college registrar's office wore me out! LOL!!!

HUGS to all of you!!! :)

Excellent news on Cora! Hannah (oldest niece) will be able to pick up her B.S. with 3 years at the University of Iowa because of the college classes she picked up in high school. And her brother is doing the same right now. It's great to get as much as possible. But, I must admit, I don't think I'll like that feeling! :-( Glad that you are getting some "me" time.

evening all - that college in high school sounds great- but it really depends on what college- my son at OSU could not get credit for any of the college classes he took in HS nor could he transfer credits from Johns Hopkins to OSU- quarters versus semesters- just saying.

Work has been fine this week- did have a wardrobe malfunction today - underwire broke during treatment and i gave myself a new piercing- ouch- so now I am online bra shopping and shoe shopping for new running shoes to wear on the treadmill- they will cost me over $100 to get ones that will enable me to go faster than 3mph without leg pain!

Everyone is so busy- I'm just work busy and days are blending- tomorrow early dentist and dr appt, and maybe some work time to do a new evaluation.

Sally -- Aw thanks!! & oh I really need to watch my current netflix movie -- Devil Wears Prada. We've been trying to save it for a time when it's just me and my mother in law, but we keep having stuff come up in the afternoons!! This afternoon is was some bad news for my hubby, but he's appearing a bit better after he got his birthday gift a week & a half early!
Ugh -- college regisration!! I used to ALWAYS get the worst online times, either during class, or when the site would go down! 3 hours? Brave woman!!

Linda -- That's AWESOME!!! College system I'm in is infamous for not upholding those credits... even though we had to register through the college as high school students when we took those classes!! It's a GREAT feeling of relief to not have to go to school that much longer!! They're lucky!

Linda W -- OW!! I've had the wire break through on the sides -- right at the arm pit! It happened to ALL of the VS bras I bought right before my wedding. Within a month they were all poking me! Yet I refused to stop wearing them because of how much I paid, lol. Now I have coupons & gift cards to stock up again :)
I love my Salomon (sp) running shoes -- but they're probably not the best for treadmills!
