Good morning dear ladies.

I can't believe the sun is shining. :angelwhistle:

I've been a little quieter these days - I'll tell you why.
As soon as my ankle can be used again, I worked in the garden on Thursday before Easter and got a lot done. Mainly I raked the leaves of the oak from the beds. With gardening gloves!! On Good Friday evening I want to apply lotion after the shower and I thought I'd be hit! The whole arm (and I mean the whole arm) was lacerated. Hundreds of punctures shone bright red!!! At first I thought it was an allergy because the puncture marks weren't obvious at first. But the spots were limited to the right arm, past the shoulder. Michael was also totally scared!!! At first you don't know what happened. The last Covid vaccination was already 5 months ago. What insect has been feeding on me? :eek2::eek2:

This was followed by slight attacks of fever, signs of the flu and total fatigue. And the arm burned like hell for days. Well, it's a little better now. I'll be at my doctor's on Monday anyway, then I can ask her if she has something to rub in, possibly antibiotics. We will see.

@fairywings - so good you got to take Gary and the dogs for a longer walk. That sounds so normal ... Hopefully such days will come more often!!!

@vickyday - you see - as always - under every roof there is an "oh"! You too will feel better soon. But it's annoying when you can't and don't like to eat. You feel weaker and less productive. But the pills will soon kick in and then you can build yourself up again.

Have a nice sunny day everyone! I'm trying to post a gif. I made it for a lesson in one of my graphic and design schools long time ago. Hopefully it will work.

Good morning, SuSanne, and to everyone.
Oh wow, your arm must feel so strange and look strange too. I can't imagine what would have done that other than the obvious, pricker bushes or mosquitos, but only the right arm... I hope that you are feeling better but it's good to ask the doctor when you see her on Monday. Did you take a picture of it? In my family's experience, whenever we had a strange rash or joint swelling, we took a photo since 9 times out of 10 it was gone by the time we saw the doctor.

How was everyone's day yesterday? I am loving, really LOVING! this weather. I am going to be heartbroken when it goes back to normal April weather. Gary asked if I wanted to go for another walk with the dogs in the morning. I had a bunch of things I had to do around the house so I suggested we try the dogs on our street. I was optimistic that after walking at the park and on the trails, J would be better at walking on the street. Nope. In fact, she seemed worse. :rolleyes:We ended up popping them into the car, walked around the fields a couple of times, and brought them home. :walkingdog:

I was outside for another hour or so in the afternoon. When we got this house there was a wood pile on the side of the yard. We had thrown a tarp over at one point and then the tarp got buried. I am trying to dig the tarp out but can only do it in small sections because years' worth of tree roots have grown through it and tangled it up. I have to do it carefully because there are plants and pet rats buried to the side of it. Scott and Sam cleaned out the pond so the front yard is starting to look a bit nicer.

I got some more good news from my mom!! She saw her nephrologist yesterday and her kidneys are holding their own. He said they are seeing the benefits of the pacemaker on her heart function. (I mentioned that her cardiologist said last week that her heart function improved?) I am really happy for her. The best part is that she is allowed to increase her potassium intake. Between the low-sodium diet for her heart and low-potassium for the kidneys, she was very limited in what she could eat.

I am cleaning for my friend this morning and tonight I am going with Caitlyn to the vet. Squirrel has a lump she wants to get checked out. She and Badger have had small lumps that eventually disappeared but this one popped up quickly and is decent sized. If it is a tumor, best to get it removed when it is small.
Rats are very prone to mammary tumors. Some of Caitlyn's rats were spayed because that is supposed to lower the risk. I think all of her rats that lived beyond two years had tumors whether they were spayed or not. These girls aren't and this is their first trip to the vet and they are almost 1 1/2.

That's my day!
Hope your is a great one :grouphugyay:

I see the animation just a second. Can you see it? What's wrong? I work with Jasc Animation Shop.
Normally it worked perfect.

Hey, @Nonni F - I think you jinxed my town. Guess what happened yesterday? A big brush fire. I think it is contained as of this morning and only a horse stable needed to be evacuated. It make the news because they had to close the highway and a few roads on the other side of town.
*fingers crossed that you guys stay safe too*
Ravioli with gravy was a staple at Thanksgiving. Soup, ravioli, then the turkey :)
LOL!!! You are your brother must make your mom crazy with the antics. I don't; wrestle my brother, he is much larger than me. But me and my kids- oh- we play fight all of the time. That drives my mom crazy.

@bcgal00 So sorry that the eye drops are still bothering you. Do you have a good pair of sunglasses for the trip? I get mine from the dollar store, so am not one to talk but you might want to grab a good pair before you head out, maybe even ones that wrap around to block the wind on the ship? (Sorry, I'm butting in with my 2 cents as always)

@taxed4ever Hope you had a lovely hike yesterday.
I don't blame you at all for being hurt or annoyed with your sisters and the menu. Especially since it is not the first (or second!!) time they did it. I would be aggravated at my family if they didn't try to accommodate Tom's diet, at least to have an option or so for him.

@tanteva I was looking at some old pics on my computer and found the one of Braxton wearing the sugar skull mask you made him. Sure, I am weird and so are you and that's why we get along :tongueout1:

Isn't this the cutest? Eva made this for Braxton and sent it to me along with some god-awful Swedish candy haha!! ♥

@Cherylndesigns I love learning about nature and everything around me- it must have been wonderful to walk about with Ryan. Too bad he didn't get you any of that bamboo though.
Decibels- I love that you describe your family gathering in decibels. :rotfl: During one of our theme nights, my friend across the street said she could hear us cackling from inside her house. And that was during Covid and only the 4 of us. Nah, we aren't loud. Could you imagine if our families ever met?? We would have to pass out those squishy earplugs that you wear to concerts. Maybe even the ones that landscapers wear when they are blowing leaves.

@Nonni F Voodoo Steve is hilarious! I imagine a lot of "Human Steve's" friends and coworkers talk to him like he is fragile. It has to feel refreshing to have you around being real. Love that his wife is in on it too. He seems like an inspiration. :heartpumpred:

On a much lighter note, years ago a few of Scott's friends "kidnapped" a cactus statue he had. It's about 3' tall including his 10-gallon hat. They drove it all over town and took pictures of him-- on the swings, at the dog park. It was honestly one of the funniest things Ian ever did. (too bad he turned out to be a total ****)

@vickyday I hope that today brings some relief. Can you try a BRAT diet? (bananas, rice, something that begins with A - apples, maybe? -toast). I remember doing that when the kids were little and got stomach bugs.
Or maybe try flat ginger ale or ginger tea. Gary chews ginger gum when he is out and his stomach acts up. He also has candied ginger for when his stomach is bad and he needs to bring his sugar up. That's the worst, when he *has* to eat but can't.
Anyway, as usual, I am full of little tidbits of advice that may or may not help. Take it all with a grain of salt.

HUGS!!

tanteeva? Sounds very german!!! Where do you from? And what is a trim Action?

When you make elements or wordarts yourself in PS or PSE you always get empty space around your element. A trim action trim the edges off. Much easier than trying to do it yourself.

And yes, tante is German, but tant is Swedish. Tante means aunt, but a tant is more a word for any old lady. So, to answer your question, I'm Swedish.

Yes, I have tried that diet. It works.....when you feel like going to the grocery store for them, lol!
Spices do weird things to me.....some of them affect my stomach and some of them don't. I usually try to avoid them! Especially ginger! I use ginger shampoo.....does that count, Doc? ;). I really DO appreciate some of the tips and ideas you and the others give! :hug2: :lovey3:

Good morning ladies. The last day has been awful. I guess I am reacting to the glaucoma drops and yesterday it was so bad that I could not stand any light on my eyes at all and had constant pain. I had to wear sunglasses, tilt my head down and try to block out as much light as possible. I stopped the drops yesterday morning and the rest of the day/night were terrible, the pain was incredible and my eyes turned very red and swollen. I laid in bed with curtains drawn and lights out and just listened to the tv. Finally I fell asleep sometime around midnight and then around 3:30 Remi started vomiting with pink blood, she swallowed a toy that came out eventually but it was 2 hrs of being sick every 10 min or so. I thought we'd be going to the vet emergency this morning but thankfully she stopped around 5:30 and we went to sleep for an hour or so. She is now drinking and ate a bit and her energy level is normal so I think she will be ok.

I'm going to the eye specialist in an hour to figure out what to do.

Then, we found out that the Ft Lauderdale airport is closed due to flood damage and we don't know if we'll be able to land there on Sunday morning. Today the Toronto flights for some that went early were turned away and have to stay in Toronto. The airport might open tomorrow but they aren't sure, and another storm is coming. I sure hope we don't have to spend days stuck in Toronto and miss some of our trip. I'm feeling really down about all this but am trying to be positive, that it will all work out.

So, I'd appreciate any positive thoughts you can pass my way. I hope my eyes will be ok for the trip and that the air travel works out to get us there.

I'll be back later if I feel better but typing and reading is a bit difficult right now.

HAGD everyone.

Oh my God, Rae! That sounds awful. Let's hope that the eye speecialist will quickly and definitively solve the problem! It can't go on like this. Let's continue to hope that you get to your destination safely and don't have to be rebooked over several flights. And finally, all the best for Remi too! Unfortunately, these stupid dogs eat everything! I have a vacuum cleaner too. Get well soon! :heartpumpred:

@vickyday YEAH! So good to hear!!! :heartpumpred:

Good late morning everyone! It will soon be afternoon and I have already been to the pool and got in my laps. Came home and got the bed made and emptied the dishwasher and had a really nice Face Time call with Heather. She went to the boys music festival yesterday and she was showing me some of the videos that the teachers had taken of the festival. So cute! She is trying to send them to me, but the rules are pretty strict about sharing the videos from school events. How scary that we can't even share sweet videos of our kids in school! Yesterdays hike was amazing! The water was running very fast and the falls were so pretty! The sky stayed blue and cloudless all day long! There were 18 of us on this hike, so it was a good number, not too many and we kept up a really fast pace and did not have to wait for anyone to catch up. It was a perfect hike! I really would love to have the time to get a page done with the photos I took yesterday, but that will not be able to happen until maybe next week. Tomorrow we head to the King Fisher Resort for a couple of nights and I sure hope that the weather will not be terrible!

@Su_Sanne - I can see your dogs noses twitch too when I click on the link! So cute!! I hope you find out what on earth is bothering your arm!! May Red ants?? They can cause a terrible stinging rash. You might have disturbed a nest of them? Hope you get some relief soon!

@vickyday - So nice to hear that you are feeling much better today and that you are going to be able to go for lunch with your DH! I hope it all sits in your stomach well and you continue to improve!

@bcgal00 - Oh Rae!! That is so sad that your eyes are bothering you so very much!! You might want to ask your Dr. if you could have the surgery instead of the drops!! I hope that things clear up at the airport in Florida and that you do not have to spend any time in Toronto!! I will send out all the positive vibes I can for you over the next few days!! :hug2:

Ok now it is time to get some lunch ready for my DH and figure out what to have for supper and what on earth I am going to wear at the fancy restaurant we are going to be at for tomorrow night :eek2:. Have a great afternoon everyone!

Thanks, Trudy! The lunch did ok on my stomach. I'm still not able to eat much, but something is better than nothing!
Do you have "guides" on these hikes you take, or is it just a bunch of friends getting together to go?
