Crazy "Autumn" Weather ??

So I don't know about anyone else, but here in the UK, that small island in the northern half of Europe stuck out in the middle of a vast ocean, we recorded temperatures of 29ºC (85ºF) today - Oct 1st. October. Seriously? Seriously! That's hotter than at any time during August this year. Gorgeous, but really bizarre to see people wearing bikinis in autumn.

Is anyone else getting this crazy weather? France? Holland? Did you get this today also?

I can't remember it getting that hot in Brighton even during the summer!!

Here in Western Canada - warm, but not hot, sunshine - usually rain in Oct...

My Mum and Dad live near Lincoln. When I spoke to them Friday they said it had been 80F. It's been hot here in Colorado, but then it's been hot and dry all Summer. I admit I'm ready for Fall.

Saw that on the news! And Paris just the same!

DH went off to Western MD while I have the artists over tomorrow, and I now have the Jotul on. 51 degrees, rain and I'm using the down comforter tonight! To think, I was getting hot, sweaty and sunburned in NYC 2 or 3 days ago!

Happy BBQing, Sue, think I might suggest this for us today.

Just checked the weather for next week - fear not, we will return to form on about Wednesday - drizzle, clouds & 14ºC due!

Don't get me started on the insane weather we have been having inNJ-- all year. Yup- we were at 80* a few days ago. Today is it freezing- 45*
We had the wettest Aug/Sept on record. I can't remember the exact numbers but I think we got 28-30 inches of rain over the last 2 months. The precip better calm down over the winter. can you imagine if that translates into snow?

And yes- it is supposed to rain the next 3 days too...and I think it rained that last 4 or 5?

WAAAAH!!!! i want to be on the Côte d'Azur with Dady!!!!

Me too, please, then I wouldn't have to deal with all my kids school trips this week - somehow I have volunteered for/been shanghaied into 5 different trips this week - 2 on the same day! Taking 30x6yr olds on public transport through the centre of London is not pretty or relaxing! Still, I suppose its better to do these things in glorious sunshine than more normally dismal British rain.

London is appealing but with 30 kids....I think not! I am with Phylis....Dady and the peaceful French coast please!

Though mind you, with a week off I would settle for a day at Cowes (Aust) but DH is SO sick :(

Sorry S...good luck!
