Coping with .... ??

California is in lockdown - meaning stay inside except for grocery shopping and medical appointments. No visiting house to house - so I can't babysit my granddaughter. We can walks outside tho, and since the sun is out today, the DH and I just returned from 5,000 steps worth.

We did get to the market yesterday - and I thought I would document the trip. Take a look and then come back and tell us how YOU are coping.

Great article Vicki!! You had me laughing and crying! We are coping, however my senior husband is still working full time as he is considered an essential worker. I did get to the grocery store today and kept my distance from fellow shoppers and staff. We are not to use our re-usable bags and had to use plastic to put our groceries in. :mmph: We had access to sanitized wipes for our shopping carts and for the most part the grocery store was stocked pretty well! Everyone happy and friendly, however a few customers were told to back away from some of the staff if they got too close. It is strange to not have too much contact with the neighbours as some have been quarantined after travelling out of country. I am sad that I can't help my children out as they are 4 provinces away and there is no way I am going on a plane right now. I do go for walks every day and the sun is shining and the birds are singing, but there is literally no air traffic in the skies above us. Strange times indeed!!

In Belgium we have a "light" lockdown. People with essential professions are allowed to work, others are not.
Shopping is really possible for food, pharmacy, but otherwise all shops remain closed.
I myself work in a company where we package medicines and so I still have to start working.
We hope that Corona will be defeated soon!

Haha, Vicki! I loved drinking...errr...reading your lemonade story. I ventured out to the store, last week, and it was an adventure for sure. I went to Costco, to fill my car up with gas, and made the CRAZY decision to go inside and get some organic chicken. Well...there was NOT ONE PIECE of a chicken in the entirety of Cosco, even non-organic kind. So, I grabbed a container of laundry pods and got in line. There was a lady in front of me and she turned around and said, "Is that all you're getting?" and I looked her in the eyes and said, "Yes, I'm not like the idiots who are filling up 2-3 carts with essential things others may need also." As usual...after I spoke I looked up and saw she had 3 carts full of paper goods, and "you name it" things. I kind of looked sheepishly behind me and the man behind me was cracking up laughing. He said, "If I could get within 6 feet of you I'd give you a hug for that statement!" haha I was kind of relieved, thinking, ok he's got my back if she runs over me with those filled carts. I've learned its the little laughs we get that help us carry on! So...carry on!!!

Here in the Netherlands, we are not on total lockdown,
a soft lockdown I believe they call it.
But schools, public places etc. are all closed.
more and more stores are closing.

advise here is keep the distance and clean clean clean your hands!

we are still allowed to go outside but people do stay in a lot more!

not the usual saturday crowd in our shopping street.

DH and I are both working from home and our college student is home for online classes through the end of the semester. Some restaurants here are open for carryout and of course groceries are open, but that's about it. Our youngest was disappointed when his CrossFit gym was closed. We've began a bit of spring cleaning and had a large trash pick up this week and DH just took a load to the volunteers of America (thankful they're still accepting donations)!

As Veer I live in Belgium ... my son and DIL are working from home ... meanwhile they take care of their children (5 and 2 years) - not so obvious ...
Since yesterday, the borders have also been closed to non-essential movements ...
