Hello,

Here is CT Member Marie-Claire (aka Clin d'oeil Design) for a new challenge !
I hope you enjoyed the last week challenge and are ready for the next.

This week our challenge is themed : "OUT OF THE BOX .. other format then 12 x 12"

In the scrap world, we mostly do our pages 12 x 12".
But not always ! For example i use to make my holiday albums in landscape format 11 * 8,5
Why : because i found this format perfect to show beautiful landscape ( of course ! ) and if i have to show many photos, there is space enough to organize well the page.
I often start from a template, but template is 12 x 12, no problem : i push photos around, duplicate, resize, adapt the template on MY page size, and number of photos.

There are many other ideas :
- a beautiful card for birthday or an other event
- a big wall art
- portrait or landscape
- or ? ?

* In the thread with your layout, let us know what is your favorite format and why
* Layout needs to contain 75% of NBK Design
* Layouts need to be uploaded to NBK GALLERY and linked back to this thread.
* Layouts need to be uploaded before 11.59pm 29 Mai 2016 CST.

This really isn't out of the box for me! I seldom use a 12x12 format for layouts I print, because I print them myself, and my printer doesn't accommodate that size. But more importantly, I just prefer the 8.5 x 11 size visually, and for handling. I put my printed scrapbook pages in clear page protectors with 3-hole punches. Albums for 8.5 x 11 pages are much more readily available, cost much less, and they are way easier for little kids to manage. My grandchildren all LOVE looking through their family albums.

I also make all my greeting cards. I've even made actions to set up pages in the style and size I want (ie. top fold 5x7, side fold 5x7, side fold #10 envelope, etc.)
And by the way, people often refer to my layouts as "cards." They're not! 8.5 x 11 is just how I do layouts for printing. I still love 12 x 12, and make a lot of them for Instagram and Facebook.

I am like you , i think i do much more pages 8,5*11 as 30*30 ....
It's not the season, but perhaps will you show us a greeting cart ... LOL

My layout above IS a (top fold) greeting card...a sympathy card. I make ALL my greeting cards, birthdays, anniversaries, baby greetings, weddings, sympathy (the one above). You will probably be surprised that I don't make cards for holidays, such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc. A lot of card-makers do, but I don't, except for a couple of times many years ago when I did Christmas cards.

I often do letter-size pages, both because it is more typical for art journaling, and because it's easier to incorporate into standard journals. That is, if I ever got around to printing them.

This is a darker page than my usual, but I was pleased to discover several items in my NBK folder appropriate for art journaling. Everything on this page is from NBK Design.

Its great to see here so many different reasons to create an Layout in a different size. Digital Scrapbooking stuff has so many possibilities, not only for using 12x12" Standard Scrappages.

just in time?



I would like to make more a4 layouts but don't have the patience to resize from 12x12.
I make lots of cards for craftmarkets and galleries and sometimes make digital ones.
