Blurry when sizing for web

I know we have to keep image sizes below 250k to upload to the gallery, but my pages always end up looking so blurry. Anyone have any tips to share?

Use a sharpening action before you save as .jpg... but after you resize.

I have an action that I use the boots the sharpening, like heathert says, and the color saturation. You can do it by hand by using the sharpen mask. I think I usually keep it on about 20%. Then, boost the color saturation by about 10.
