Blended style

I've recently come back to play here and I love the blended style I see which is so popular here. I do it some, but I'd like tips on how you do it. I love how the photos fade especially. Are you using masks? How are you doing it? Any Tutorials to recommend? Thanks a bunch!:cheer2:
